1ଅରାମୀଯ ରାଜାଙ୍କର ନାମାନ୍ ନାମ ରେ ଜଣେ ସନୋପତି ଥିଲେ। ସେ ତା'ର ମୁନିବ ପ୍ରତି ମହତ୍ବପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଥିଲେ। କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତାଙ୍କରି ସାହାୟ୍ଯ ରେ ଅରାମୀଯମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିଜଯ ପ୍ରଦାନ କରିଥିଲେ। ଯଦିଓ ନାମାନ୍ ଅତି ମହାନ୍ ଓ ପରାକ୍ରମଶାଳୀ ଥିଲେ, ସେ ଗୋଟିଏ ବଡ ଚର୍ମ ରୋଗ ରେ ଆକ୍ରାନ୍ତ ଥିଲେ।
1Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honorable, because by him Yahweh had given victory to Syria: he was also a mighty man of valor, but he was a leper.
2ଅରାମୀଯମାନେ ସୈନ୍ଯଦଳ ଦ୍ବାରା ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ ଲଢୁଥିଲେ। ସମାନେେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ଦାସ କରିବାକୁ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲରୁ ଘନେି ଆସୁଥିଲେ। ଏକ ସମୟରେ ସମାନେେ ଗୋଟିଏ େଛାଟ ବାଳିକା ନଇେ ଆସିଥିଲେ। ସହେି ବାଳିକାଟି ନାମାନ୍ ଭାର୍ୟ୍ଯାର ଦାସୀ ହେଲା।
2The Syrians had gone out in bands, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maiden; and she waited on Naaman's wife.
3ଅନନ୍ତର ସହେି ବାଳିକା ନିଜର କର୍ତ୍ତାକୁ କହିଲା, ମୁଁ ଆଶା କରୁଛି ମାରେ ମହାଶୟ ନାମାନ୍ ଯଦି ଭବିଷ୍ଯଦ୍ବକ୍ତା ଇଲୀଶାୟଙ୍କୁ ସାକ୍ଷାତ୍ କରନ୍ତି, ଯେ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ଶମରିଯା ରେ ବାସ କରୁଛନ୍ତି। ସେ ନିଶ୍ଚଯ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଏହି କୁଷ୍ଠରୋଗରୁ ଆରୋଗ୍ୟ କରିବେ।
3She said to her mistress, Would that my lord were with the prophet who is in Samaria! then would he recover him of his leprosy.
4ନାମାନ୍ ନିଜର ପ୍ରଭୁ ଅରାମ୍ର ରାଜାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ୟାଇ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲୀୟ ବାଳିକା ଯାହା କହିଥିଲେ ସବୁ କହିଲେ।
4One went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maiden who is of the land of Israel.
5ତା'ପରେ ଅରାମ୍ର ରାଜା କହିଲେ, ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ୟାଅ, ଆଉ ମୁଁ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଏକ ପତ୍ର ପଠାଇବି।
5The king of Syria said, Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel. He departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of clothing.
6ନାମାନ୍ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଅରାମ୍ ରାଜାଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଖଣ୍ଡେ ପତ୍ର ଦେଲେ। ଚିଠି ରେ ଲଖାେଥିଲା, ମୁଁ ମାରେ ଦାସ ନାମାନ୍କୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପାଖକୁ ପଠାଇଲି। ଦୟାକରି ତାକୁ ଚର୍ମ ରୋଗରୁ ତାକୁ ଆରୋଗ୍ୟ କର।
6He brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this letter is come to you, behold, I have sent Naaman my servant to you, that you may recover him of his leprosy.
7ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ରାଜା ଯେତବେେଳେ ଚିଠିଟି ପାଠ କଲେ ସେ ଦୁଃଖ ରେ ନିଜର ବସ୍ତ୍ରକୁ ଚିରି କହିଲେ, ମୁଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ୟିଏ ମୃତ ଓ ଜନ୍ମ ଦବୋ ମାରେଅଧିନ ରେ ଅଟେ କି? କାହିଁକି ଚର୍ମ ରୋଗରୁ ଆରୋଗ୍ୟ ହବେ ବୋଲି ଅରାମ୍ ରାଜା ମାେ ପାଖକୁ ଜଣେ ଲୋକ ପଠାଇଛି? ତେଣୁ ମୁଁ ବିନଯ କରୁଛି, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ବିଗ୍ଭର କର। ସେ କିପରି ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ ୟୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଗୋଟିଏ ତୃଟି ପାଇବାକୁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କରୁଅଛି।
7It happened, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he tore his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man does send to me to recover a man of his leprosy? but consider, I pray you, and see how he seeks a quarrel against me.
8ଏହାପରେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଲୋକ ଇଲୀଶାୟ ଶୁଣିଲେ ଯେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ରାଜା ନିଜର ବସ୍ତ୍ର ଚିରିଛନ୍ତି, ସେ ଗୋଟିଏ ବାର୍ତ୍ତା ରାଜାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ପଠାଇ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ କାହିଁକି ନିଜର ବସ୍ତ୍ର ଚିରିଲ। ନାମାନ୍ ମାେ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସୁ, ତାହା ହେଲେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ରେ ଭବିଷ୍ଯଦ୍ବକ୍ତା ଅଛନ୍ତି, ସେ ଜାଣିବ।
8It was so, when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Why have you torn your clothes? let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.
9ତେଣୁ ନାମାନ୍ ନିଜର ଅଶ୍ବ ଓ ରଥାଦି ସହିତ ଇଲୀଶାୟଙ୍କ ଗୃହକୁ ଆସିଲେ। ସେ ଦ୍ବାର ନିକଟରେ ଠିଆ ହେଲେ।
9So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariots, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha.
10ଇଲୀଶାୟ ଏକ ଦୂତ ନାମାନ୍ ନିକଟକୁ ପଠାଇ କହିଲେ, ୟାଅ, ୟର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ନଦୀ ରେ ସାତଥର ସ୍ନାନ କର। ତାହାହେଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ନୂତନ ମାଂସ ହବେ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଶୁଚି ହବେ।
10Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall come again to you, and you shall be clean.
11ମାତ୍ର ନାମାନ୍ କ୍ରୁଦ୍ଧ ହାଇେ ଗ୍ଭଲିଗଲେ। ସେ କହିଲେ ମୁଁ ଭାବିଥିଲି ସେ ବାହାରି ଆସି ଥାଆନ୍ତା ଏବଂ ତାଙ୍କ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନାମ ରେ ଡାକି ଥାଆନ୍ତା ଏବଂ ସଂକ୍ରମିତ ଚର୍ମ ଉପରେ ତାଙ୍କ ହାତ ରଖି ମାେତେ ଆରୋଗ୍ୟ କରିଥାଆନ୍ତା।
11But Naaman was angry, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of Yahweh his God, and wave his hand over the place, and recover the leper.
12ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ସମସ୍ତ ଜଳ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଦମ୍ମେଶକର ଓ ପର୍ପର ନଦୀଗଣର ଜଳ ଅଧିକ ଭଲ ନୁହେଁ କି? ମୁଁ ଦମ୍ମେଶକର ସେ ନଦୀ ରେ ସ୍ନାନ କରି କାହିଁକି ଶୁଚି ନ ହବେି? ତେଣୁ ସେ ରାଗି ଗ୍ଭଲିଗଲେ।
12Aren't Abanah and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.
13କିନ୍ତୁ ନାମାନ୍ର ଦାସମାନେ ତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି କହିଲେ, ହେ ପିତା, ଯଦି ଭବିଷ୍ଯଦ୍ବକ୍ତା କିଛି ବଡ କରିବାକୁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ କ'ଣ ତାହା କରି ନଥାନ୍ତ? ତେଣୁ ଦୟାକରି ତାଙ୍କ କଥାମାନ ଯଦିଓ ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଏକ ସହଜ ଜିନିଷ କରିବାକୁ କହୁଛି। ତାଙ୍କର ଉପଦେଶ ଅନୁସାରେ 'ସ୍ନାନ କର ଏବଂ ଶୁଚି ହୁଅ।'
13His servants came near, and spoke to him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid you do some great thing, wouldn't you have done it? how much rather then, when he says to you, Wash, and be clean?
14ତେଣୁ ନାମାନ୍ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଲୋକର ବାକ୍ଯାନୁସା ରେ ଗଲେ ଓ ୟର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ନଦୀ ରେ ନିଜକୁ ସାତଥର ବୁଡାଇଲେ। ଏଥି ରେ ତାଙ୍କର ଶରୀର ଶୁଚି ହେଲା ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ମାଂସ ବାଳକର ମାଂସ ତୁଲ୍ଯ କୋମଳ ହେଲା।
14Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh came again like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
15ଏହାପରେ ନାମାନ୍ ଓ ତା'ର ସମସ୍ତ ସାଥୀ ଲୋକମାନେ ଫରେିଆସି ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଲୋକ ଇଲୀଶାୟ ସମ୍ମୁଖ ରେ ଆସି ଛିଡା ହେଲେ ଓ କହିଲେ, ଦେଖନ୍ତୁ, ମୁଁ ଏବେ ବୁଝିଲ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଛଡା ସମଗ୍ର ପୃଥିବୀ ରେ ଆଉ ପରମେଶ୍ବର କହେି ନାହାଁନ୍ତି। ତେଣୁ ମୁଁ ବିନଯ କରି କହୁଛି, ଆପଣ ଏ ଦାସଠାରୁ ଉପହାର ଗ୍ରହଣ କରନ୍ତୁ।
15He returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him; and he said, See now, I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, please take a present from your servant.
16ମାତ୍ର ଇଲୀଶାୟ କହିଲେ, ମୁଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସବୋ କରୁଛି। ମୁଁ ଶପଥ କରି କହୁଛି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଜୀବିତ ଥିବା ପ୍ରମାଣେ ମୁଁ କୌଣସି ଉପହାର ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବି ନାହିଁ।
16But he said, As Yahweh lives, before whom I stand, I will receive none. He urged him to take it; but he refused.
17ଏଥି ରେ ନାମାନ୍ କହିଲେ, ଆପଣ ଏହା ଯଦି ସ୍ବୀକାର ନ କରନ୍ତି, ତବେେ ମୁଁ ବିନଯ କରୁଛି, ମାେ ପାଇଁ ଏହା କର। ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଏ ଦାସକୁ ଦୁଇ ଖଚରର ଭାରମାଟି ଦିଆଯାଉ। କାରଣ ଆଜି ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଏ ଦାସ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବ୍ଯତୀତ ଆଉ କୌଣସି ଦବେତା ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ଯ ରେ ବଳିଦାନ କି ହାମବେଳି ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ କରିବ ନାହିଁ।
17Naaman said, If not, yet, please let there be given to your servant two mules' burden of earth; for your servant will henceforth offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice to other gods, but to Yahweh.
18ଏହା ପାଇଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମାେତେ କ୍ଷମା କରି ପାରନ୍ତି: ମାରେପ୍ରଭୁ ରିମ୍ମୋଣ ମନ୍ଦିର ରେ ପୂଜା କରିବା ପାଇଁ ୟିବା ବେଳେ ମାେ ଉପରେ ନତ ହବେେ, ତେଣୁ ମୁଁ ମଧ୍ଯ ରିମ୍ମୋଣ ମନ୍ଦିର ରେ ପ୍ରଣାମ କରିବି, ଯେତବେେଳେ ସେ ପ୍ରଣାମ କରନ୍ତି। ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମାେତେ କ୍ଷମା କରିପାରନ୍ତି ଯେତବେେଳେ ଏହା ଘଟେ।
18In this thing Yahweh pardon your servant: when my master goes into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leans on my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon, when I bow myself in the house of Rimmon, Yahweh pardon your servant in this thing.
19ତା'ପରେ ଇଲୀଶାୟ ନାମାନ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଶାନ୍ତି ରେ ୟାଅ।
19He said to him, Go in peace. So he departed from him a little way.
20କିନ୍ତୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଲୋକ ଇଲୀଶାୟଙ୍କ ଦାସ ଗି ହଜେୀ କହିଲା, ଦେଖ, ମାରେ ପ୍ରଭୁ ଇଲୀଶାୟ ଏହି ଅରାମୀଯ ନାମାନ୍ଠାରୁ କୌଣସି ଉପହାର ଗ୍ରହଣ କଲେ ନାହିଁ। ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଜୀବିତ ପ୍ରମାଣେ ମୁଁ ଶପଥ କରୁଛି, ଏହା ପେଛ ପେଛ ୟାଇ ତାହାଠାରୁ କିଛି ନବେି।
20But Gehazi the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my master has spared this Naaman the Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought: as Yahweh lives, I will run after him, and take somewhat of him.
21ତେଣୁ ଗି ହଜେୀ ନାମାନ୍ଙ୍କୁ ଅନୁସରଣ କଲେ।
21So Gehazi followed after Naaman. When Naaman saw one running after him, he alighted from the chariot to meet him, and said, Is all well?
22ଏହାପରେ ଗି ହଜେୀ କହିଲେ, ହଁ, ସବୁ କୁଶଳ। ମାରେ ମହାଶୟ ଇଲୀଶାୟ ମାେତେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ କହିବାକୁ ପଠାଇଛନ୍ତି, ' ଦେଖ ଏହିକ୍ଷଣି ଇଫ୍ରଯିମର ପର୍ବତମଯ ଦେଶରୁ ଭବିଷ୍ଯଦ୍ବକ୍ତାମାନଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ରଗଣ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ଦୁଇଜଣ ୟୁବକ ଆସିଲେ, ମୁଁ ବିନଯ କରୁଛି ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଏକ ତାଳନ୍ତ ରୂପା ଓ ଦୁଇ ସାଜ ପୋଷାକ ଦିଅ।
22He said, All is well. My master has sent me, saying, Behold, even now there are come to me from the hill-country of Ephraim two young men of the sons of the prophets; please give them a talent of silver, and two changes of clothing.
23ଏଥି ରେ ନାମାନ୍ କହିଲେ, ଅନୁଗ୍ରହପୂର୍ବକ ଦୁଇ ତାଳନ୍ତ ରୂପା ନିଅ। ଆଉ ସେ ଗି ହଜେୀକୁ ବହୁ ଅନୁ ରୋଧ କଲେ ରୂପା ନବୋକୁ। ସେ ଦୁଇଟି ଥଳୀ ରେ ଦୁଇ ତଳାନ୍ତ ରୂପା ରହିଥିବା ନଲୋ ଏବଂ ଦୁଇ ଶହ ସାଜ ପୋଷାକ ନେଲେ। ନାମାନ ଏସବୁ ଜିନିଷଗୁଡିକୁ ଗି ହଜେୀର ଦୁଇ ୟୁବକ ସାହାୟ୍ଯକାରୀଗଣଙ୍କୁ ଦେଲେ ଏବଂ ସମାନେେ ଏହିସବୁ ଗି ହଜେୀ ଆଗକୁ ବହନ କରି ନେଲେ।
23Naaman said, Be pleased to take two talents. He urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of clothing, and laid them on two of his servants; and they bore them before him.
24ଗି ହଜେୀ ଉପପର୍ବତ ନିକଟରେ ପହଞ୍ଚି ସମାନଙ୍କେଠାରୁ ସମସ୍ତ ଦ୍ରବ୍ଯ ନଇେ ଗୃହ ଭିତ ରେ ଲୁଚାଇ ରଖିଲେ ଓ ସହେି ଦୁଇଜଣ ଦାସଙ୍କୁ ବିଦାଯ ଦବୋରୁ ସମାନେେ ଗ୍ଭଲିଗଲେ।
24When he came to the hill, he took them from their hand, and bestowed them in the house; and he let the men go, and they departed.
25ଏହାପରେ ସେ ଭିତରକୁ ୟାଇ ଆପଣା ମହାଶୟ ସମ୍ମୁଖ ରେ ଛିଡା ହେଲେ। ତହୁଁ ଇଲୀଶାୟ ଗି ହଜେୀକୁ ପଚାରିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ କେଉଁଠାରୁ ଆସିଲ?
25But he went in, and stood before his master. Elisha said to him, Whence come you, Gehazi? He said, Your servant went no where.
26ଏଥି ରେ ଇଲୀଶାୟ ତାକୁ କହିଲେ, ଏହା ସତ୍ଯ ନୁହେଁ କି? ସେ ଲୋକ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଭଟେିବାକୁ ଯେତବେେଳେ ନିଜ ରଥରୁ ଫରେି ଆସିଲା, ସେତବେେଳେ ମାରେ ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସାଥୀ ରେ ଥିଲା? ଅର୍ଥ, ବସ୍ତ୍ର, ତୈଳ, ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷା, ମଷେ, ଗୋରୁ ଓ ଦାସ-ଦାସୀ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବାର ତାହା କ'ଣ ସମୟ ନୁହେଁ?
26He said to him, Didn't my heart go with you, when the man turned from his chariot to meet you? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and olive groves and vineyards, and sheep and oxen, and men-servants and maid-servants?
27ଏଣୁ ନାମାନ୍ର ଚର୍ମ ରୋଗ ତୁମ୍ଭଠା ରେ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ବଂଶଠା ରେ ଚିରକାଳ ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ଲାଗି ରହିବ।
27The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave to you, and to your seed forever. He went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.
