1ଏହାପରେ ଯିହାଶାଫେଟ୍ ମୃତ୍ଯୁବରଣ କଲେ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ କବରପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ହେଲେ। ସେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ନଗର ରେ କବର ପାଇଲେ। ଯିହାଶାଫେଟ୍ଙ୍କ ସ୍ଥାନ ରେ ଯିହାରୋମ୍ ନୂତନ ରାଜା ହେଲେ।
1Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Jehoram his son reigned in his place.
2ଯିହାରୋମ୍ ଯିହାଶାଫେଟ୍ଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ଥିଲେ।' ଯିହାରୋମ୍ଙ୍କ ଭ୍ରାତାମାନେ ଥିଲେ ଅସରିଯ, ୟିହୀଯେଲ୍, ଜିଖରିଯ, ଅସରିଯାହ, ମୀଖାଯଲେ, ଶଫ୍ଟିଯ। ଏହି ବ୍ଯକ୍ତିମାନେ ଯିହାଶାଫେଟ୍ଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ରଗଣ ଥିଲେ। ଯିହାଶାଫେଟ୍ ଯିହୁଦାର ରାଜା ଥିଲେ।
2He had brothers, the sons of Jehoshaphat: Azariah, and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah; all these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.
3ଯିହାଶାଫେଟ୍ ତାଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ରମାନଙ୍କୁ ରୂପା, ସୁନା ଓ ଅନକେ ବହୁମୂଲ୍ଯ ପଦାର୍ଥ ଉପହାର ଦଇେଥିଲେ। ସେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଯିହୁଦାର ଦୃଢ଼ ଦୁର୍ଗମାନ ମଧ୍ଯ ପ୍ରଦାନ କରିଥିଲେ। କିନ୍ତୁ ଯିହାଶାଫେଟ୍, ଯିହାରୋମ୍ଙ୍କୁ ରାଜ୍ଯ ଦେଲେ, କାରଣ ସେ ତାଙ୍କର ଜେଷ୍ଠ ପୁତ୍ର ଥିଲେ।
3Their father gave them great gifts, of silver, and of gold, and of precious things, with fortified cities in Judah: but the kingdom gave he to Jehoram, because he was the firstborn.
4ଯିହାରୋମ୍ ତାଙ୍କର ପିତାଙ୍କର ରାଜ୍ଯପଦ ଗ୍ରହଣ କଲେ ଓ ଆପଣାକୁ ଦୃଢ଼ କଲେ। ଏହାପରେ ସେ ନିଜ ଭ୍ରାତାମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଏବଂ ଖଡ୍ଗ ବ୍ଯବହାର କଲେ। ସେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର କେତକେ ନେତାଙ୍କୁ ମଧ୍ଯ ବଧ କଲେ।
4Now when Jehoram was risen up over the kingdom of his father, and had strengthened himself, he killed all his brothers with the sword, and various also of the princes of Israel.
5ଯିହାରୋମ୍ ରାଜ୍ଯ ଶାସନ କରିବାକୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ କରିବା ସମୟରେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ବତିଶ ବର୍ଷ ବଯସ ହାଇେଥିଲା। ସେ ୟିରୁଶାଲମ ରେ ଆଠବର୍ଷ ରାଜତ୍ବ କଲେ।
5Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
6ସେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ରାଜାମାନଙ୍କ ପରି ଜୀବନୟାପନ କଲେ। ଆହାବଙ୍କ ପରିବାର ଯେପରି ଜୀବନ କାଟିଥିଲେ, ସେ ସହେିପରି ଜୀବନ କାଟିଲେ। କାରଣ ଯିହାରୋମ୍ ଆହାବ୍ଙ୍କର କନ୍ଯାକୁ ବିବାହ କରିଥିଲେ। ଆଉ ୟିହୋରାମ୍ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟି ରେ ମନ୍ଦ କର୍ମ କଲେ।
6He walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab; for he had the daughter of Ahab as wife: and he did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh.
7କିନ୍ତୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ସହିତ କରିଥିବା ଚୁକ୍ତି ହତେୁ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ଗୃହକୁ ଧ୍ବଂସ କଲେ ନାହିଁ। ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା କରିଥିଲେ ଯେ, ସେ ଦାଉଦ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଚିରକାଳ ଏକ ପ୍ରଦୀପ ଜ୍ବଳାଇ ରଖିବେ।
7However Yahweh would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a lamp to him and to his children always.
8ଯିହାରୋମ୍ଙ୍କ ସମୟରେ, ଇଦୋମ ଯିହୁଦାର ଅଧୀନତାକୁ ଭଙ୍ଗ କଲା। ଇଦୋମୀଯମାନେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ନିଜର ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ମନୋନୀତ କଲେ।
8In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and made a king over themselves.
9ତେଣୁ ଯିହାରୋମ୍ ତାଙ୍କର ସମସ୍ତ ସନୋପତିଗଣ ଓ ରଥଗୁଡ଼ିକୁ ନଇେ ଇଦୋମକୁ ଗଲେ। ଯିହାରୋମ୍ ରାତି ରେ ଇଦୋମୀଯମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆକ୍ରମଣ କଲେ। ମାତ୍ର ଇଦୋମୀଯ ସୈନ୍ଯଦଳ ୟି ହରୋମ୍ ଓ ତାଙ୍କ ସୈନ୍ଯଦଳ ତଥା ରଥସବୁର ଚତୁର୍ଦ୍ଦିଗରୁ ଘରେିଗଲେ।
9Then Jehoram passed over with his captains, and all his chariots with him: and he rose up by night, and struck the Edomites who surrounded him, along with the captains of the chariots.
10ସହେି ସମୟଠାରୁ ଆଜି ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ଇଦୋମ ଯିହୁଦାର ବିରୋଧୀ ବିଦ୍ରୋହୀ ହାଇେ ରହିଅଛି। ଲିବ୍ନା ସହରର ଲୋକମାନେ ମଧ୍ଯ ଯିହାରୋମ୍ଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ ଉଠିଲେ। ଯିହାରୋମ୍ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କୁ ତ୍ଯାଗ କରିଥିବାରୁ ଏହିପରି ଘଟିଲା। ସେ ଯିହାରୋମ୍ଙ୍କ ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷଗଣଙ୍କର ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଅଟନ୍ତି।
10So Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah to this day: then did Libnah revolt at the same time from under his hand, because he had forsaken Yahweh, the God of his fathers.
11ଯିହାରୋମ୍ ଯିହୁଦାର ପର୍ବତମାନଙ୍କ ରେ ଉଚ୍ଚସ୍ଥାନମାନ ନିର୍ମାଣ କଲେ। ଯିହାରୋମ୍ ୟିରୁଶାଲମର ଓ ଯିହୁଦାର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଭୁଲ୍ ପଥରେ ଆଗଇେ ନେଲେ।
11Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah, and made the inhabitants of Jerusalem to play the prostitute, and led Judah astray.
12ଯିହାରୋମ୍ ଭବିଷ୍ଯତ୍ବକ୍ତା ଏଲୀଯଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଏକ ବାର୍ତ୍ତା ପାଇଲେ। ସହେି ବାର୍ତ୍ତା ରେ ଏହିପରି ଲଖାେଥିଲା : ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଏହିକଥା କହନ୍ତି। ତୁମ୍ଭ ପିତା ଦାଉଦ ଯାହାଙ୍କର ଅନୁଗମନ କରିଥିଲେ, ଏ ସହେି ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଅଟନ୍ତି। ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, 'ଯିହାରୋମ୍, ତୁମ୍ଭ ପିତା ଯିହାଶାଫେଟ୍ ଯେଉଁ ପ୍ରକାର ଜୀବନୟାପନ କରିଥିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେ ପ୍ରକାର କରି ନାହଁ। ଯିହୁଦାର ରାଜା ଆସା ଯେ ପ୍ରକାର ଜୀବନୟାପନ କରିଥିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସପରେି ଜୀବନୟାପନ କରି ନାହଁ।
12There came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus says Yahweh, the God of David your father, Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,
13କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ରାଜାମାନଙ୍କ ପରି ଜୀବନୟାପନ କରିଅଛ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯିହୁଦା ଓ ୟିରୁଶାଲମର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଇଚ୍ଛାନୁୟାଯୀ କର୍ମ କରିବାରୁ ନିବୃତ୍ତ କରିଅଛ। ଆହାବ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ପରିବାର ଏହିପରି କରିଥିଲେ। ସମାନେେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଅବିଶ୍ବସ୍ତ ହାଇେଥିଲେ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଭ୍ରାତାମାନଙ୍କୁ ହତ୍ଯା କରିଅଛ ଏବଂ ତୁମ୍ଭର ପିତାଙ୍କର ସମସ୍ତ ସତ୍ତିକୁ ନଷ୍ଟ କରିଛ। ତୁମ୍ଭର ଭ୍ରାତାମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭଠାରୁ ଉତ୍ତମ ଥିଲେ।
13but have walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and have made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to play the prostitute, like as the house of Ahab did, and also have slain your brothers of your father's house, who were better than yourself:
14ତେଣୁ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଅତିଶୀଘ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ବହୁତ ଦଣ୍ଡ ଦବେେ। ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ, ସନ୍ତାନ ଓ ସମସ୍ତ ସମ୍ପତ୍ତିକୁ ଦଣ୍ଡିତ କରିବେ।
14behold, Yahweh will strike with a great plague your people, and your children, and your wives, and all your substance;
15ତୁମ୍ଭର ଅନ୍ତ ରେ ଏକ ଭୟଙ୍କର ରୋଗ ହବେ। ତାହା ଦିନକୁ ଦିନ ପ୍ରବଳତର ହବେ। ଶଷେ ରେ ସହେି ଭୟଙ୍କର ରୋଗ ହତେୁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଅନ୍ତବୁଜୁଳା ବାହାରି ପଡ଼ିବ।'
15and you shall have great sickness by disease of your bowels, until your bowels fall out by reason of the sickness, day by day.
16କୂଶୀଯମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ବାସ କରୁଥିବା ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟ ଓ ଆରବୀଯମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯିହାରୋମ୍ଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କ୍ରୋଧିତ କରାଇଲେ।
16Yahweh stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians who are beside the Ethiopians:
17ସହେି ଲୋକମାନେ ଯିହୁଦା ଦେଶ ଆକ୍ରମଣ କଲେ। ସମାନେେ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ଗୃହ ରେ ଥିବା ସମସ୍ତ ଧନରତ୍ନ ଲୁଟି ନେଲେ ଓ ଯିହାରୋମ୍ଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ଓ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଗଣଙ୍କୁ ନଇଗେଲେ। କବଳେ ଯିହାରୋମ୍ଙ୍କ କନିଷ୍ଠ ପୁତ୍ର ରକ୍ଷା ପାଇୟାଇଥିଲା। ଯିହାରୋମ୍ଙ୍କ କନିଷ୍ଠ ପୁତ୍ରର ନାମ ଥିଲା ୟିହୋଯାହସ୍।
17and they came up against Judah, and broke into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king's house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was never a son left him, save Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons.
18ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ ଘଟଣା ଘଟିବା ପରେ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଯିହାରୋମ୍ଙ୍କୁ ଏକ ଭୟଙ୍କର ଆନ୍ତ୍ରିକ ରୋଗ ରେ ପୀଡ଼ିତ କଲେ, ଯାହାକି ସୁସ୍ଥ ହାଇେ ପାରିଲା ନାହିଁ।
18After all this Yahweh struck him in his bowels with an incurable disease.
19ଆଉ, ଦୁଇବର୍ଷ ପରେ ଅତିରିକ୍ତ ଅସୁସ୍ଥତା ହତେୁରୁ ଯିହାରୋମ୍ଙ୍କର ଅନ୍ତବୁଜୁଳା ବାହାରି ପଡ଼ିଲା। ଅତ୍ଯନ୍ତ ୟନ୍ତ୍ରଣା ଭୋଗି ସେ ମୃତ୍ଯୁବରଣ କଲେ। ତାଙ୍କ ପିତାଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଯେପରି କରିଥିଲେ, ଲୋକମାନେ ସପରେି ୟିହୋରାମ୍ଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମାନାର୍ଥେ ବିରାଟ ଅଗ୍ନିଦାହ କଲେ ନାହିଁ।
19It happened, in process of time, at the end of two years, that his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness, and he died of sore diseases. His people made no burning for him, like the burning of his fathers.
20ଯିହାରୋମ୍ ରାଜା ହବୋ ସମୟରେ ବତିଶ ବର୍ଷ ବଯସ୍କ ଥିଲେ। ସେ ୟିରୁଶାଲମ ରେ ଆଠବର୍ଷ ରଜତ୍ବ କଲେ। ଯିହାରୋମ୍ଙ୍କ ମୃତ୍ଯୁ ରେ କୌଣସି ବ୍ଯକ୍ତି ଦୁଃଖ କଲେ ନାହିଁ। ଲୋକମାନେ ଯିହାରୋମ୍ଙ୍କୁ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ନଗର ରେ କବର ଦେଲେ ସତ, କିନ୍ତୁ ଯେଉଁଠା ରେ ରାଜାମାନଙ୍କୁ କବର ଦିଆୟାଏ, ସଠାେରେ କବର ଦେଲେ ନାହିଁ।
20Thirty-two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years: and he departed without being desired; and they buried him in the city of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.
