1प्रिय थियोफिलस, मैले मेरो प्रथम पुस्तकमा, येशूले जे-जे गर्नु भयो र सिकाउनु भयो प्रत्येक कुरो लेखें।
1The first book I wrote, Theophilus, concerned all that Jesus began both to do and to teach,
2मैले येशूको सम्पूर्ण जीवन बारे लेखें, प्रारम्भदेखि उहाँ स्वर्ग तिर उचालिनु भए सम्म। यो घटना हुनु अघि उहाँद्वारा चुनिएका प्रेरितहरूसित उहाँले बातचित गर्नु भयो। प्रेरितहरूले के गर्नु पर्छ भन्ने कुरा पवित्र आत्माको सहयोग लिएर उहाँले बताउनु भयो।
2until the day in which he was received up, after he had given commandment through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen.
3यी सबै घटनाहरू येशूको मृत्यु पछि भयो, अनि उहाँले आफ्ना प्रेरितहरूलाई आफू जिउँदो रहेको शक्तिशाली प्रमाणहरूले प्रमाण गर्नु भयो। येशू मृत्युबाट बौरी उठे पछि प्रेरितहरूले उहाँलाई चालीस दिनको अवधिमा धेरै पल्ट देखे। उहाँले तिनीहरूसंग परमेश्वरका राज्यको विषयमा बताउनुभयो।
3To these he also showed himself alive after he suffered, by many proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days, and speaking about God's Kingdom.
4एक समय जब येशू तिनीहरूसंग खाई रहनु भएको थियो, उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई यरूशलेम नछोड्ने कुरा भन्नुभयो। उहाँले भन्नुभयो, “पिताले तिमीहरूको लागि प्रतिज्ञा गर्नु भएकोछ, जुन मैले तिमीहरूलाई पहिल्यै भनिसकेकोछु। त्यो प्रतिज्ञा प्राप्त गर्नलाई तिमीहरूले यरूशलेममा र्पखिनु पर्छ।
4Being assembled together with them, he charged them, "Don't depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which you heard from me.
5यूहन्नाले मानिसहरूलाई पानीद्वारा बप्तिस्मा दिए, तर केही दिन पछिबाट तिमीहरूले पवित्र आत्माद्वारा बप्तिस्मा लिनेछौ।”
5For John indeed baptized in water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days from now."
6प्रेरितहरू जम्मा भए। तिनीरूले येशूलाई सोधे, “हे प्रभु के यो इस्राएललाई राज्य फेरि फिर्ता दिने तपाईंको समय यही हो?”
6Therefore, when they had come together, they asked him, "Lord, are you now restoring the kingdom to Israel?"
7येशूले तिनीहरूलाई भन्नुभयो, “पिता मात्र एक हुनुहुन्छ जसको मिति र समयहरू निर्णय गर्ने अधिकार छ।” तिमीहरू यी कुराहरू बारे जान्न सक्तैनौ।
7He said to them, "It isn't for you to know times or seasons which the Father has set within His own authority.
8तर पवित्र आत्मा तिमीमाथि आउनु हुनेछ अनि तिमीहरूले शक्ति पाउनेछौ। तिमीहरू मानिसहरूबीच मेरो गवाही हुनेछौ। पहिले तिमीहरू यरूशलेमका मानिसहरूका निम्ति गवाही हुनेछौ। तब तिमीहरूले यहूदियामा, सामरियामा अनि संसारका प्रत्येक ठाउँका मानिसहरूलाई बताउनेछौ।”
8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth."
9येशूले प्रेरितहरूलाई ती कुराहरू भनिसके पछि उहाँ माथि आकाश सम्म उचालिनु भयो। प्रेरितहरूले हेर्दा हेर्दै येशू बादलभित्र पस्नु भयो अनि तिनीहरूले उहाँलाई देख्न सकेनन्।
9When he had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken up, and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10येशू टाढा गइरहनु भएको थियो अनि प्रेरितहरूले आकाश तर्फ हेरिरहेका थिए। अचानक दुइजना मानिसहरू सेतो वस्त्र धारण गरेर तिनीहरूका छेउमा उभिए।
10While they were looking steadfastly into the sky as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white clothing,
11ती दुइजना मानिसहरूले प्रेरितहरूलाई भने, “गालीलका मानिसहरू, तिमीहरू यहाँ किन आकाशतर्फ हेर्दै उभिरहेकाछौ? तिमीहरूले येशूलाई तिमीहरूदेखि स्वर्ग-आरोहण भएको देख्यौ। जसरी तिमीहरूले उहाँलाई जानु भएको देख्यौ त्यसरी नै उहाँ फर्की आउनु हुनेछ।”
11who also said, "You men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who was received up from you into the sky will come back in the same way as you saw him going into the sky."
12त्यसपछि प्रेरितहरू जैतून पर्वतदेखि यरूशलेम तिर लागे। यो पर्वत यरूशलेमदेखि प्राय आधा माईल टाढो छ।
12Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mountain called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day's journey away.
13प्रेरितहरू शहरभित्र पसे। तिनीहरू त्यही ठाउँमा गए जहाँ तिनीहरू बसेका थिए; यो कोठा माथिल्लो तलामा थियो। प्रेरितहरू थिए पत्रुस, यूहन्ना, याकूब अन्द्रियास, फिलिप, थोमा, बर्थुलमै, मत्ती, याकूब (अल्फयसको छोरो) र शिमोन (कनानी) र यहूदा (याकूबको छोरो)।
13When they had come in, they went up into the upper room, where they were staying; that is Peter, John, James, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James.
14प्रेरितहरू एक साथ थिए। एकै उद्वेश्यको लागि तिनीहरूले लगातार प्रार्थना गरिरहेका थिए। केही नारीहरू, मरियम येशूको आमा अनि उहाँका भाइहरू पनि त्यहाँ प्रेरितहरूसंग थिए।
14All these with one accord continued steadfastly in prayer and supplication, along with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.
15केही दिन पश्चात् त्यहाँ विश्वास गर्नेहरूको सभा भइरहेको थियो। सभामा झण्डै एक सय बीस जना मानिसहरू थिए। पत्रुस उभिए र भने,
15In these days, Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples (and the number of names was about one hundred twenty), and said,
16“भाइहरू हो! दाऊदको माध्यम पवित्र आत्माले केही घटनाहरू घटनेछन् भनी धर्मशास्त्रमा भनेका थिए।
16"Brothers, it was necessary that this Scripture should be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who was guide to those who took Jesus.
17उनी यहूदाको विषयमा बात गरिरहेका थिए जो हाम्रा दलका एक जना थिए। यहूदाले हामीसित सेवा गरेका थिए अनि ती मानिसहरूका मार्ग दर्शक भए जसले येशूलाई पक्रे।”
17For he was numbered with us, and received his portion in this ministry.
18यहूदालाई पैसा दिएर त्यसो गर्न खटाएको थियो। आफ्नो दुष्ट कामको पैसाले एउटा जमीन किन्यो। तर यहूदा उँधो मुण्टो भएर पछारियो, त्यसको शरीर खुल्ला भएर फुट्यो, सबै आन्द्रा भुँडीहरू निस्किए।
18Now this man obtained a field with the reward for his wickedness, and falling headlong, his body burst open, and all his intestines gushed out.
19यो घटनाबाट सम्पूर्ण येरूशलेमको जनसाधरणले शिक्षा पाए। त्यसैकारणले त्य खेतको नाउँ मानिसहरूले हकल्दामा राखे। तिनीहरूको भाषामा हकल्दमाको अर्थ, “रगतको खेत” हुन्छ।
19It became known to everyone who lived in Jerusalem that in their language that field was called 'Akeldama,' that is, 'The field of blood.'
20पत्रुसले भने, “भजनसंग्रहमा यहूदाको विषयमा यस्तो लेखिएको छः‘उसको घर जनहीन होस्। कोही पनि त्यहाँ नबसुन्।’
20For it is written in the book of Psalms, 'Let his habitation be made desolate, Let no one dwell therein,' And, 'Let another take his office.'
21यसैकारण अब अर्को मानिस हामीसंग सम्मिलित होस् र येशू पुनरुत्थान हुनु भएको गवाही बनोस्। यो मानिस हाम्रै टोलीको हुनुपर्छ जो प्रभु येशूको जीवनकाल भरि हामीसंग रहेको हुनु पर्दछ।
21Of the men therefore who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
22यो मानिस यूहन्नाले मानिसहरूलाई बप्तिस्मा दिएको दिनदेखि येशूको स्वर्ग आरोहण भएको दिनसम्म हामीसंग रहेको हुनुपर्छ।”
22beginning from the baptism of John, to the day that he was received up from us, of these one must become a witness with us of his resurrection."
23प्रेरितहरूले दुईजना मानिसहरू टोलीको समक्ष राखे। एकजना यूसुफ बर्णबास थिए। जसलाई जस्तस पनि भनिन्थ्यो। अर्को मानिस मत्तियास थियो।
23They put forward two, Joseph called Barsabbas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
24प्रेरितहरूले प्रार्थना गरे, “प्रभु, तपाईंले सबै को मनका कुराहरू जान्नु हुन्छ। हामीलाई देखाउनु होस् यी दुईजना मध्ये कसलाई यो काम गराउन तपाईंले छान्नु भएको छ।
24They prayed, and said, "You, Lord, who know the hearts of all men, show which one of these two you have chosen
25यहूदाले त्यसलाई छाडे अनि तिनी वास्तवमा कहाँका थिए त्यहीं गए। प्रभु, हामीलाई देखाउनुहोस् कि कुन मानिसले एक प्रेरितको स्थान लिनु पर्ने हो।”
25to take part in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas fell away, that he might go to his own place."
26प्रेरितहरूले दुई जनाबाट एकजना छान्नलाई चिट्ठा गरे। चिट्ठामा मत्तियासको नाउँ पर्यो। यसैकारणले अन्य एघारजना प्रेरितहरू सहित ऊ पनि एक प्रेरित हुन पुगे।
26They drew lots for them, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
