1हा मलकीसदेक शालेमाचा राजा होता. आणि तो सर्वोच्च देवाचा याजक होता. राजांचा पराभव करून अब्राहाम परतत असताना मलकीसदेक त्याला भेटला. मलकीसदेकाने त्याला आशीर्वाद दिला.
1For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of God Most High, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,
2व अब्राहामाने आपल्या सर्वस्वाचा दहावा भाग त्याला (मलकीसदेकाला) दिला. मलकीसदेकाच्या नावाचा अर्थ “नीतिमत्त्वाचा राजा” त्याचप्रमाणे तो शालेमाचा राजा असल्याने त्याचा अर्थ “शांतीचा राजा” असा होतो.
2to whom also Abraham divided a tenth part of all (being first, by interpretation, king of righteousness, and then also king of Salem, which is king of peace;
3मलकीसदेकाचे आईवडील किंवा त्याचे पूर्वज, त्याचा जन्म किंवा मृत्यूची नोंद आढळत नाही. देवपुत्राच्या प्रतिमेशी तो हुबेहूब मिळताजुळता असल्यामुळे तो देखील अनंतकाळासाठी याजकच राहणार आहे.
3without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God), remains a priest continually.

6but he whose genealogy is not counted from them has taken tithes of Abraham, and has blessed him who has the promises.

7But without any dispute the less is blessed by the better.

8Here people who die receive tithes, but there one receives tithes of whom it is testified that he lives.

10for he was yet in the loins of his father when Melchizedek met him.

11Now if there was perfection through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people have received the law), what further need was there for another priest to arise after the order of Melchizedek, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
12कारण जेव्हा याजकपणात बदल होतो तेव्हा नियमशास्त्रसुद्धा बदलणे अपरिहार्य होते.
12For the priesthood being changed, there is of necessity a change made also in the law.

13For he of whom these things are said belongs to another tribe, from which no one has officiated at the altar.
14हे स्पष्ट आहे की, आमचा प्रभु यहूदा वंशातील होता आणि या वंशासंबंधी याजकपणाबद्दल मोशेने काहीही सांगितले नाही.
14For it is evident that our Lord has sprung out of Judah, about which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood.
15आणि जेव्हा या दुसऱ्या प्रकारचा नवीन याजक मलकीसदेकासारख येतो तेव्हा ही गोष्ट आणखी स्पष्ट होते.
15This is yet more abundantly evident, if after the likeness of Melchizedek there arises another priest,
16मानवी नियमशास्त्राच्या हुकूमाने येशूला याजक करण्यात आले नव्हते तर अक्षय जीवनाच्या सामर्थ्याच्या आधारे त्याला याजक करण्यात आले.
16who has been made, not after the law of a fleshly commandment, but after the power of an endless life:
17कारण अशाप्रकारे त्याच्याविषयी पवित्र शास्त्रात लिहिले आहे: “तू मलकीसदेकासारखा अनंतकाळासाठी याजक आहेस”
17for it is testified, "You are a priest forever, According to the order of Melchizedek."
18जुना नियम बाजूला ठेवण्यात आला आहे, कारण तो दुबळा व तिरुपयोगी होता.
18For there is an annulling of a foregoing commandment because of its weakness and uselessness
19कारण नियमशास्त्रामुळे कोणतीच गोष्ट पूर्ण झाली नाही आणि आता एक अधिक चांगली आशा आम्हांला देण्यात आली आहे, जिच्यामुळे आम्ही देवाजवळ येतो.
19(for the law made nothing perfect), and a bringing in thereupon of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.
20हेसुद्धा महत्त्वाचे आहे की देवाने येशूला मुख्य याजक करताना शपथेशिवाय केले नाही. जेव्हा इतरांना याजक करण्यात आले तेव्हा त्यांना शपथेशिवाय याजक करण्यात आले.
20Inasmuch as he was not made priest without the taking of an oath
21पण येशू जेव्हा याजक, बनला तेव्हा तो शपथेने बनला. ज्याने त्याला सांगितले की,“प्रभूने शपथ वाहिली आहे, आणि तो आपले मत बदलणार नाही: ‘तू अनंतकाळचा याजक आहेस.’
21(for they indeed have been made priests without an oath), but he with an oath by him that says of him, "The Lord swore and will not change his mind, 'You are a priest forever, According to the order of Melchizedek'".
22याचा अर्थ असा की, येशू हा अधिक चांगल्या कराराची खात्री आहे.
22By so much has Jesus become the collateral of a better covenant.
23तसेच, इतर पुष्कळ मुख्य याजक होते. परंतु मरणामुळे पुढे ते याजकपद चालवू शकले नाही.
23Many, indeed, have been made priests, because they are hindered from continuing by death.
24त्याचे याजकपद कायमचे आहे, कारण तो सर्वकाळ राहतो.
24But he, because he lives forever, has his priesthood unchangeable.
25म्हणून, जे त्याच्याद्वारे देवाकडे येतात त्यांना तो अनंतकाळासाठी तारण्यास समर्थ आहे. कारण त्यांच्यासाठी मध्यस्थी करण्यास तो सदैव जिवंत आहे.
25Therefore he is also able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, seeing he ever lives to make intercession for them.
26म्हणून येशू अगदी आपल्या गरजांस अनुरूप असा मुख्य याजक आहे, ज्याची आम्हाला गरज आहे. तो पवित्र, निष्कपट आणि निष्कलंक आहे; दोषविरहित आणि शुद्ध आहे, तो पाण्यांपासून वेगळा केलेला आहे. त्याला आकाशाहूनही उंच केलेले आहे.
26For such a high priest was fitting for us: holy, guiltless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

27who doesn't need, like those high priests, to daily offer up sacrifices, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. For this he did once for all, when he offered up himself.
28कारण नियमशास्त्र मानवी दुर्बलता असलेल्या मनुष्याची मुख्य याजक म्हणून नेमणूक करते. परंतु नियमशास्त्रानंतर शपथेचे वचन देण्यात आल्यामुळे पुत्र हा सर्वकाळासाठी परिपूर्ण असा मुख्य याजक झाला.
28For the law appoints men as high priests who have weakness, but the word of the oath which came after the law appoints a Son forever who has been perfected.
