इस्राएल लोक राहात असलेल्या प्रदेशात अनेक परकी लोकही होते. ते म्हणजे हित्ती, अमोरी, परिज्जी, हिव्वी आणि यबूसी. त्यांना शलमोनाने वेठबिगार केले. हे लोक मूळचे इस्राएल नव्हते. या प्रदेशात राहून गेलेल्या लोकांचे ते वंशज होते आणि इस्राएल लोकांनी त्यांना अजून नष्ट केले नव्हते. ते अजूनही आहेत.
