1ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದಿನ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಷ್ಬೀಯನಾದ ಎಲೀಯನು ಅಹಾಬನಿಗೆ--ಯಾವಾತನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲುತ್ತೇನೋ ಆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವ ರಾದ ಕರ್ತನ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ನನ್ನ ಮಾತಿನ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ವಲ್ಲದೆ ಈ ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಂಜೂ ಮಳೆಯೂ ಬೀಳು ವದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು.
1Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the foreigners of Gilead, said to Ahab, As Yahweh, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.
2ಕರ್ತನ ಮಾತು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಉಂಟಾಗಿ--ನೀನು ಈ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಪೂರ್ವ ದಿಕ್ಕಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ,
2The word of Yahweh came to him, saying,
3ಯೊರ್ದನಿಗೆ ಎದುರಿಗಿರುವ ಕೆರೀತ್‌ ಹಳ್ಳದ ಬಳಿ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡಗಿಕೊಂಡಿರು.
3Get you hence, and turn you eastward, and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, that is before the Jordan.
4ನೀನು ಆ ಹಳ್ಳದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯುವಿ; ನಿನಗೆ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ತಂದು ಕೊಡಲು ನಾನು ಕಾಗೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
4It shall be, that you shall drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.
5ಅವನು ಹೋಗಿ ಕರ್ತನ ಮಾತಿನ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಿದನು; ಅಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಹೋಗಿ ಯೊರ್ದನಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿರುವ ಕೆರೀತ್‌ ಹಳ್ಳದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸ ವಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
5So he went and did according to the word of Yahweh; for he went and lived by the brook Cherith, that is before the Jordan.
6ಕಾಗೆಗಳು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಉದಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನೂ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನೂ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದವು. ಅವನು ಆ ಹಳ್ಳದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
6The ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.
7ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಕಾಲವಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಏನಾಯಿ ತಂದರೆ, ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಳೆ ಇಲ್ಲದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆ ಹಳ್ಳವು ಬತ್ತಿಹೋಯಿತು.
7It happened after a while, that the brook dried up, because there was no rain in the land.
8ಕರ್ತನ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಉಂಟಾಗಿ--
8The word of Yahweh came to him, saying,
9ನೀನೆದ್ದು ಚೀದೋನಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಚಾರೆಪ್ತಾಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರು; ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಅಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಒಬ್ಬ ವಿಧವೆಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.
9Arise, get you to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow there to sustain you.
10ಹಾಗೆಯೆ ಅವನೆದ್ದು ಚಾರೆಪ್ತಾಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಬಾಗಿಲ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ವಿಧವೆಯು ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದಳು. ಅವನು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಕರೆದು--ನೀನು ದಯಮಾಡಿ ಕುಡಿ ಯುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಪಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ನೀರನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡುಬಾ ಅಂದನು.
10So he arose and went to Zarephath; and when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks: and he called to her, and said, Please get me a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.
11ಅವಳು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬರಲು ಹೋಗು ತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಅವನು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಕರೆದು--ನೀನು ದಯ ಮಾಡಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯ ತುಂಡನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ ಅಂದನು.
11As she was going to get it, he called to her, and said, Please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.
12ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವಳು--ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ಮಡಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಹಿಡಿ ಹಿಟ್ಟೂ ತಂಬಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯ ಹೊರತಾಗಿ ನನಗೆ ಬೇರೇನೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಇಗೋ, ನಾನೂ ನನ್ನ ಕುಮಾರನೂ ಅದನ್ನು ತಿಂದು ಸತ್ತುಹೋಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ನನಗೂ ಅವನಿಗೂ ಸಿದ್ಧ ಮಾಡಲು ಎರಡು ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಅಂದಳು.
12She said, As Yahweh your God lives, I don't have a cake, but a handful of meal in the jar, and a little oil in the jar: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and bake it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.
13ಆಗ ಎಲೀಯನು ಅವಳಿಗೆ--ಭಯಪಡಬೇಡ; ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾತಿನ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಮಾಡು. ಆದರೆ ಮೊದಲು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಒಂದು ಚಿಕ್ಕ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಮಾಡಿ, ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ; ತರು ವಾಯ ನಿನಗೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನಿಗೂ ಸಿದ್ದಮಾಡಿಕೋ.
13Elijah said to her, Don't be afraid; go and do as you have said; but make me of it a little cake first, and bring it forth to me, and afterward make for you and for your son.
14ಕರ್ತನು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಳೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವ ವರೆಗೂ ಮಡಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಹಿಟ್ಟು ತೀರುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ತಂಬಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯು ಮುಗಿಯುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳು ತ್ತಾನೆ ಅಂದನು.
14For thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, The jar of meal shall not empty, neither shall the jar of oil fail, until the day that Yahweh sends rain on the earth.
15ಆಗ ಅವಳು ಹೋಗಿ ಎಲೀಯನ ಮಾತಿನ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಿ, ಅವಳೂ ಇವನೂ ಅವಳ ಮನೆಯವರೂ ಅನೇಕ ದಿವಸ ತಿಂದರು.
15She went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, ate many days.
16ಕರ್ತನು ಎಲೀಯನ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಹೇಳಿದ ವಾಕ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಮಡಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಹಿಟ್ಟು ತೀರದೆ ತಂಬಿಗೆ ಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯು ಮುಗಿಯದೆ ಇತ್ತು.
16The jar of meal didn't empty, neither did the jar of oil fail, according to the word of Yahweh, which he spoke by Elijah.
17ಇವುಗಳ ತರುವಾಯ ಏನಾಯಿತಂದರೆ, ಮನೆಯ ಯಜಮಾನಳಾದ ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ಮಗನು ರೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದು ಅವನಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ವಾಸವು ನಿಂತುಹೋಗುವಂತೆ ಅವನ ರೋಗವು ಅಧಿಕವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
17It happened after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.
18ಆಗ ಅವಳು ಎಲೀಯ ನಿಗೆ--ಓ ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೇ, ನನಗೂ ನಿನಗೂ ಏನು? ನನ್ನ ಅಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾಪಕಪಡಿಸುವ ದಕ್ಕೂ ನನ್ನ ಮಗನು ಸಾಯುವದಕ್ಕೂ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿಯೋ ಅಂದಳು.
18She said to Elijah, What have I to do with you, you man of God? You have come to me to bring my sin to memory, and to kill my son!
19ಅವನು ಅವಳಿಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಕೊಡು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಅವಳ ಮಡಲಿನಿಂದ ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ತಾನು ವಾಸ ವಾಗಿರುವ ಉಪ್ಪರಿಗೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ,
19He said to her, Give me your son. He took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into the chamber, where he abode, and laid him on his own bed.
20ತನ್ನ ಮಂಚದ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಲಗಿಸಿ--ನನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನಾನು ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವ ವಿಧವೆಯ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಹಾಕುವ ಈ ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಅವಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರಮಾಡಿದಿಯಲ್ಲಾ ಎಂದು ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ಕೂಗಿ ಬೇಡಿದನು.
20He cried to Yahweh, and said, Yahweh my God, have you also brought evil on the widow with whom I sojourn, by killing her son?
21ಆಗ ಅವನು ಹುಡುಗನ ಮೇಲೆ ಮೂರು ಸಾರಿ ಬೋರ್ಲ ಬಿದ್ದುನನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಓ ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಈ ಹುಡುಗನ ಪ್ರಾಣ ಅವನಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬರಲಿ ಎಂದು ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ಕೂಗಿದನು.
21He stretched himself on the child three times, and cried to Yahweh, and said, Yahweh my God, please let this child's soul come into him again.
22ಕರ್ತನು ಎಲೀಯನ ಸ್ವರವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಹುಡುಗನು ಬದುಕುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವನ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ಅವನೊಳಗೆ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬಂತು.
22Yahweh listened to the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.
23ಆಗ ಎಲೀಯನು ಹುಡುಗನನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ಉಪ್ಪರಿಗೆ ಯಿಂದ ಕೆಳಗಿರುವ ಮನೆಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಅವನ ತಾಯಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಅವನುನೋಡು, ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನು ಜೀವದಿಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ಎಲೀ ಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು.ಆಗ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಎಲೀಯನಿಗೆನೀನು ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೆಂದೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಯ ಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕರ್ತನ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ನಿಜವೆಂದೂ ಇದರಿಂದ ಈಗ ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಅಂದಳು.
23Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him to his mother; and Elijah said, Behold, your son lives.
24ಆಗ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಎಲೀಯನಿಗೆನೀನು ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೆಂದೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಯ ಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕರ್ತನ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ನಿಜವೆಂದೂ ಇದರಿಂದ ಈಗ ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಅಂದಳು.
24The woman said to Elijah, Now I know that you are a man of God, and that the word of Yahweh in your mouth is truth.
