1પછી મેં બીજા એક દૂતને આકાશમાંથી નીચે આવતા જોયો. આ દૂત પાસે વધારે સત્તા હતી. તે દૂતના મહિમાથી પૃથ્વી પ્રકાશિત થઈ.
1After these things, I saw another angel coming down out of the sky, having great authority. The earth was illuminated with his glory.
2તે દૂતે મોટા શક્તિશાળી અવાજ સાથે બૂમ પાડી કે:“તેનો વિનાશ થયો છે! તે મોટા શહેર બાબિલોનનો નાશ થયો છે! તે ભૂતોનું ઘર બન્યું. તે શહેર દરેક અશુદ્ધ આત્માઓને રહેવા માટેનું સ્થળ બન્યું છે. તે બધી જાતના અશુદ્ધ પક્ષીઓથી ભરેલું શહેર બન્યું છે. તે બધા અશુદ્ધ તિરસ્કૃત પ્રાણીઓનું શહેર બન્યું છે.
2He cried with a mighty voice, saying, "Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, and she has become a habitation of demons, a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful bird!
3પૃથ્વી પરના બધા લોકોએ તેના વ્યભિચારના પાપનો તથા દેવના કોપનો દ્રાક્ષારસ પીધો છે. પૃથ્વી પરના રાજાઓએ તેની સાથે વ્યભિચારનાં પાપ કર્યા છે અને પૃથ્વી પરના વેપારીઓ તેની સમૃદ્ધ સંપત્તિ અને મોજશોખમાંથી શ્રીમંત થયા છે.’
3For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her sexual immorality, the kings of the earth committed sexual immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from the abundance of her luxury."
4પછી મેં બીજો એક અવાજ આકાશમાંથી કહેતા સાંભળ્યો કે:“મારા લોકો, તે શહેરમાથી બહાર આવો, જેથી તમે તેના પાપોના ભાગીદાર ન થાઓ. પછી તમે તેના પર આવનારી વિપત્તિઓને તમારે સહન કરવી પડશે નહિ.
4I heard another voice from heaven, saying, "Come out of her, my people, that you have no participation in her sins, and that you don't receive of her plagues,
5તે શહેરનાં પાપો દૂર આકાશ સુધી પહોંચ્યા છે. તેણે જે ખરાબ કૃત્યો કર્યા છે તે દેવ ભૂલ્યો નથી.
5for her sins have reached to the sky, and God has remembered her iniquities.
6તે શહેરને એટલું ભરી આપો, જેટલું તેણે બીજાઓને ભરી આપ્યું છે. તેણે જેટલું કર્યુ છે તેનાથી બમણું આપો; તેને માટે દ્રાક્ષારસ જેટલો તેણે બીજાઓ માટે તૈયાર કર્યો હતો તેનાથી બમણો તેજ તૈયાર કરો.
6Return to her just as she returned, and repay her double as she did, and according to her works. In the cup which she mixed, mix to her double.
7બાબિલોને પોતાને મોટી કીર્તિ અને મોજશોખ જીવનમાં પ્રાપ્ત કર્યા, તેટલાં દુ:ખો અને વેદનાઓ પણ તેને આપો; તે તેની જાતને કહે છે, ‘હું મારા રાજ્યાસન પર બેઠેલી એક રાણી છું. હું વિધવા નથી, હું કદી ઉદાસ થનાર નથી.’
7However much she glorified herself, and grew wanton, so much give her of torment and mourning. For she says in her heart, 'I sit a queen, and am no widow, and will in no way see mourning.'
8તેથી એક દિવસમાં આ બધી ખરાબ બાબતો મૃત્યુ, શોક અને દુકાળ તેની પાસે આવશે. તેનો અગ્નિથી નાશ થશે, કારણ કે પ્રભુ દેવ જે તેનો ન્યાય કરે છે તે શક્તિશાળી છે.
8Therefore in one day her plagues will come: death, mourning, and famine; and she will be utterly burned with fire; for the Lord God who has judged her is strong.
9“પૃથ્વીના રાજાઓ, જેમણે તેની સાથે વ્યભિચારનાં પાપ કર્યા અને તેની સંપત્તિમાં ભાગ પડાવ્યો તેઓ તેની આગનો ધૂમાડો જોશે. પછી તે રાજાઓ તેના મૃત્યુને કારણે રડશે અને દુ:ખી થશે.
9The kings of the earth, who committed sexual immorality and lived wantonly with her, will weep and wail over her, when they look at the smoke of her burning,
10તેની વેદનાના ભયથી તે રાજાઓ દૂર ઊભા રહેશે. તે રાજાઓ કહેશે કે:‘અરેરે! ભયંકર! કેવું ભયંકર, મહાન બાબિલોન નગર, બાબિલોનનું બળવાન નગર! તારી શિક્ષા એક કલાકમાં થઈ!’
10standing far away for the fear of her torment, saying, 'Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For your judgment has come in one hour.'
11“અને પૃથ્વી પરના વેપારીઓ તેના માટે શોક કરશે અને તેને માટે દુ:ખી થશે. તેઓ દિલગીર થશે કારણ કે હવે તેઓ જે વેચે છે તેને ખરીદનારા ત્યાં કોઈ નથી.
11The merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise any more;
12તેઓ સોનું, રૂપું, કિંમતી રત્નો, મોતીઓ, સુંદર બારીક શણના કપડાં, જાંબુડી કાપડ, રેશમી તથા કિરમજી કાપડ સર્વ જાતના સુગંધીદાર કાષ્ટ,હાથીદાંતની મૂલ્યવાન કાષ્ટની, પિતળની, લોઢાની તથા સંગેમરમરની, સર્વ જાતની વસ્તુઓ વેચતાં.
12merchandise of gold, silver, precious stones, pearls, fine linen, purple, silk, scarlet, all expensive wood, every vessel of ivory, every vessel made of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble;
13તે વેપારીઓ, તજ, તેજાનાં, ધૂપદ્ધવ્યો, અત્તર, લોબાન, દ્ધાક્ષારસ, તેલ, ઝીણો મેંદો, ઘઉં, તથા ઢોરઢાંકર, ઘેટાં, ઘોડા, રથો, ગુલામો તથા માણસોના પ્રાણ, પણ તેઓ વેચતા. તે વેપારી માણસો રડશે અને કહેશે કે:
13and cinnamon, incense, perfume, frankincense, wine, olive oil, fine flour, wheat, sheep, horses, chariots, bodies, and people's souls.
14‘ઓ બાબિલોન, તમે જે સારી વસ્તુઓની ઈચ્છા છે તે તારી પાસેથી દૂર થઈ છે. તારી બધી કિંમતી અને સુંદર વસ્તુઓ અદૃશ્ય થઈ ગઈ છે. તને ફરીથી તે વસ્તુઓ કદાપિ મળશે નહિ.’
14The fruits which your soul lusted after have been lost to you, and all things that were dainty and sumptuous have perished from you, and you will find them no more at all.
15“તે વેપારી માણસો તેની વેદનાથી ભયભીત થશે અને તેનાથી દૂર ઊભા રહેશે. આ તે માણસો છે જે વસ્તુંઓ વેચીને તેમાંથી ધનવાન થયા. તે માણસો રડશે અને શોક કરશે.
15The merchants of these things, who were made rich by her, will stand far away for the fear of her torment, weeping and mourning;
16તેઓ કહેશે કે:‘અરેરે! ભયંકર! કેવું ભયંકર! બારીક શણનાં, જાંબુડી તથા કિરમજી રંગના વસ્ત્રોથી વેષ્ટિત અને સોનાથી, કિંમતી પથ્થરો અને મોતીઓથી અલંકૃત મહાન નગરને હાય હાય!
16saying, 'Woe, woe, the great city, she who was dressed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls!
17આ બધી સંપતિ એક કલાકમાં નષ્ટ થઈ!’“સર્વ નાખુદા, બધા લોકો જે વહાણોમાં સફર કરનારા છે, બધા જ ખલાસીઓ અને તે બધા લોકો જે સમુદ્ર માર્ગે પૈસા કમાનારા છે તેઓ બાબિલોનથી દૂર ઊભા રહ્યા.
17For in an hour such great riches are made desolate.' Every shipmaster, and everyone who sails anywhere, and mariners, and as many as gain their living by sea, stood far away,
18તેઓએ તેના બળવાનો ધૂમાડો જોયો. તેઓએ મોટે સાદે કહ્યું કે: ‘ત્યાં આના જેવું મહાન નગર કદાપિ હતું નહિ!’
18and cried out as they looked at the smoke of her burning, saying, 'What is like the great city?'
19તેઓએ પોતાનાં માથાં પર ધૂળ ફેંકી. તેઓ રડ્યા અને વિલાપ કરવા લાગ્યાં. તેઓએ મોટા સાદે કહ્યું કે:‘અરેરે! ભયંકર! કેવું ભયંકર તે મહાન નગર! તે બધા લોકો જેમની પાસે સમુદ્ર પર વહાણો છે, તેઓ તથા તેની સંપતિને કારણે તેઓ ધનવાન થયા. પરંતુ તેનો વિનાશ એક કલાકમાં થયો!
19They cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and mourning, saying, 'Woe, woe, the great city, in which all who had their ships in the sea were made rich by reason of her great wealth!' For in one hour is she made desolate.
20ઓ આકાશ! આના કારણે આનંદિત થાઓ. સંતો, પ્રેરિતો અને પ્રબોધકો, આનંદ કરો. તેણે તમારી સાથે જે કાંઇ કર્યું તેને કારણે દેવે તેને શિક્ષા કરી.”‘
20Rejoice over her, O heaven, you saints, apostles, and prophets; for God has judged your judgment on her."
21પછી એક શક્તિશાળી દૂતે એક મોટો પથ્થર ઉઠાવ્યો. આ પથ્થર ઘંટીના પડ જેવો મોટો હતો. તે દૂતે તે પથ્થરને દરિયામાં નાખી દીધો અને કહ્યું કે:“તે મહાન નગર બાબિલોનને એટલી જ નિર્દયતાપૂર્વક નીચે ફેંકી દેવામાં આવશે. તે શહેર ફરીથી કદી જોવામાં નહિ આવે.
21A mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and cast it into the sea, saying, "Thus with violence will Babylon, the great city, be thrown down, and will be found no more at all.
22વીણા વગાડનારા, ગાનારા, બીજા વાજીંત્રો વાંસળી અને રણશિગડું વગાડનારા લોકોનું સંગીત તારામાં ફરી કદી સંભળાશે નહિ. પ્રત્યેક કસબી જે કાંઇ કામ કરતો હોય. ફરીથી કદી તારામાં જોવામાં આવશે નહિ. ઘંટીનો અવાજ ફરી કદી તારામાં સંભળાશે નહિ.
22The voice of harpists, minstrels, flute players, and trumpeters will be heard no more at all in you. No craftsman, of whatever craft, will be found any more at all in you. The sound of a mill will be heard no more at all in you.
23તારામાં દીવાનો પ્રકાશ ફરી કદી પ્રકાશશે નહિ. તારામાં વર કન્યાનો અને વરરાજાનો અવાજ ફરી કદી સંભળાશે નહિ કારણ કે તારા વેપારીઓ દુનિયાના મહાન માણસો હતા. તારી જાદુઈ યુક્તિઓથી બધા દેશો ભ્રમમાં પડ્યા.
23The light of a lamp will shine no more at all in you. The voice of the bridegroom and of the bride will be heard no more at all in you; for your merchants were the princes of the earth; for with your sorcery all the nations were deceived.
24બધા લોકો જેઓને પૃથ્વી પર મારી નાખવામાં આવ્યા હતા, બધા પ્રબોધકો અને સંતોનું લોહી વહાવવા માટે તે (બાબિલોન) દોષિત છે.”
24In her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all who have been slain on the earth."
