1હે યહોવા, રક્ષા કરો; દેવથી ડરનારાઓનો નાશ થઇ રહ્યો છે તો પછી વિશ્વમાં વિશ્વાસુ માણસો કયાં મળશે?
1For the Chief Musician; upon an eight-stringed lyre. A Psalm of David. Help, Yahweh; for the godly man ceases. For the faithful fail from among the children of men.
2લોકો તેમના પોતાના પડોશીઓ સાથે જૂઠ્ઠુ બોલે છે. લોકો જૂઠાણાંથી એકબીજાની ખોટી પ્રશંસા કરે છે.
2Everyone lies to his neighbor. They speak with flattering lips, and with a double heart.
3પણ યહોવા પ્રશંસા કરનારા હોઠોનો અને બડાઇ કરનારી જીભોનો નાશ કરશે.
3May Yahweh cut off all flattering lips, And the tongue that boasts,
4તેઓએ એમ કહ્યું, “અમારી જીભથી અમે જીતીશું; હોઠ અમારા પોતાના છે, અમારો કોણ માલિક છે જે અમને અટકાવે?”
4Who have said, "With our tongue we will prevail. Our lips are our own. Who is lord over us?"
5યહોવા કહે છે, “હવે હું ઊભો થઇશ અને તમારું રક્ષણ કરવા આવીશ, કારણ કે ગરીબો લૂટાયા તેને લીધે તેઓ નિસાસા લઇ રહ્યાં છે. તેઓને જે સુરક્ષાની જરૂર છે તે હું તેમને આપીશ.”
5"Because of the oppression of the weak and because of the groaning of the needy, I will now arise," says Yahweh; "I will set him in safety from those who malign him."
6યહોવાના શબ્દો સાત વખત ભઠ્ઠીમાં તપાવેલી ચાંદી જેવા સાચા અને પવિત્ર છે.
6The words of Yahweh are flawless words, As silver refined in a clay furnace, purified seven times.
7હે યહોવા, તેઓને સંભાળજો; આ દુષ્ટ પેઢીથી તેમને સદાય બચાવજો.
7You will keep them, Yahweh, You will preserve them from this generation forever.
8દુષ્ટ લોકો શિકારની શોધમાં ચારેબાજુ ફરતાં હોય છે. અને લોકોમાં આવા નકામાં લોકોને માન મળે છે.
8The wicked walk on every side, When what is vile is exalted among the sons of men.
