1પછી યહોવાએ મને યહૂદિયાના રાજાના મહેલમાં જઇને આ પ્રમાણે સીધી વાત કરવા કહ્યું:
1Thus said Yahweh: Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak there this word,
2“‘દાઉદના રાજ્યાસન પર બેઠેલા હે યહૂદિયાના રાજા, તું અને તારા અમલદારો તથા યરૂશાલેમના બધાં વતનીઓ હું જે કહું છું તે ધ્યાનથી સાંભળો.
2Say, Hear the word of Yahweh, king of Judah, who sits on the throne of David, you, and your servants, and your people who enter in by these gates.
3હું, યહોવા આ પ્રમાણે તમને કહું છું; ન્યાયથી અને સદાચારથી વતોર્, જે વ્યકિત તેના જુલ્મીના હાથે લૂંટાઇ ગઇ છે તેને બચાવો; પરદેશીઓ, અનાથો અને વિધવાઓ પ્રત્યે હિંસા આચરો નહિ, આ સ્થાને નિદોર્ષનું લોહી રેડશો નહિ.
3Thus says Yahweh: Execute you justice and righteousness, and deliver him who is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence, to the foreigner, the fatherless, nor the widow; neither shed innocent blood in this place.
4જે હું તને કહું છું જો તું સાચે જ કરે તો, હું ખાતરી કરીશ કે તે રાજાઓ જે દાઉદના રાજ્યાસન પર બેસે છે. તેઓ આ દ્વાર તરફથી જશે. તેઓ રથોમાં અને ઘોડા પર સવારી કરશે અને તેઓના ચાકરો અને તેઓના લોકો પણ.
4For if you do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting on the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, he, and his servants, and his people.
5પણ જો તમે મારી ચેતવણી તરફ ધ્યાન નહિ આપો, ને મારું કહ્યું નહી કરો તો હું મારા પોતાના સમ ખાઇને કહું છું કે, આ મહેલ ખંડેર બની જશે. આ હું યહોવા બોલું છું.”‘
5But if you will not hear these words, I swear by myself, says Yahweh, that this house shall become a desolation.
6યહૂદિયાના રાજમહેલ વિષે યહોવાએ કહ્યું છે કે,“તું મારે મન ગિલયાદ જેવો, લબાનોન પર્વતના શિખર જેવો છે. તેમ છતાં હું સમ ખાઉ છું, તને વેરાન અને વસ્તીહિન સ્થળ જેવું બનાવી દઇશ.
6For thus says Yahweh concerning the house of the king of Judah: You are Gilead to me, and the head of Lebanon; yet surely I will make you a wilderness, and cities which are not inhabited.
7હું તારો વિનાશ કરવા માટે માણસો નક્કી કરીશ. તેઓ દરેક જણ હાથમાં કુહાડો લઇને તારા ગંધતરૂના સુંદરમાં સુંદર વૃક્ષોને કાપી નાખશે અને અગ્નિમાં હોમી દેશે.
7I will prepare destroyers against you, everyone with his weapons; and they shall cut down your choice cedars, and cast them into the fire.
8“તારાજ થયેલા આ નગરની પાસેથી પસાર થતાં, ઘણી પ્રજાઓના લોકો એકબીજાને કહેશે, ‘યહોવાએ શા માટે આ નગરનાં આવા હાલ કર્યા? શા માટે તેમણે આવા મહાન નગરનો વિનાશ કર્યો?’
8Many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbor, Why has Yahweh done thus to this great city?
9ત્યારે પ્રત્યુત્તર મળશે, ‘કારણ કે એ લોકોએ પોતાના દેવ યહોવા સાથેના કરારને ફગાવી દઇ બીજા દેવોની પૂજા કરી.”‘
9Then they shall answer, Because they forsook the covenant of Yahweh their God, and worshiped other gods, and served them.
10યહૂદિયાના લોકો, જે મૃત્યુ પામ્યા છે તેને માટે ચિંતા કરશો નહિ, તેમ તેનો શોક પણ ન કરશો; પણ જે ચાલ્યો ગયો છે તેને માટે હૈયાફાટ રૂદન કરજો, કારણ તે કદી પાછો આવવાનો નથી. તે કદી ફરી જન્મભૂમિના દર્શન કરવાનો નથી.
10Don't you weep for the dead, neither bemoan him; but weep sore for him who goes away; for he shall return no more, nor see his native country.
11તેના પિતા યોશિયા રાજાની જગ્યાએ ગાદીએ આવનાર શાલ્લૂમને બંદીવાસમાં લઈ જવામાં આવ્યો છે. તેના વિષે યહોવા કહે છે:
11For thus says Yahweh touching Shallum the son of Josiah, king of Judah, who reigned instead of Josiah his father, and who went forth out of this place: He shall not return there any more.
12“તેને જ્યાં કેદ પકડીને લઇ જવામાં આવ્યો છે તે દેશમાં જ તે મૃત્યુ પામશે અને આ ભૂમિને કદી જોવા પામશે નહિ.”
12But in the place where they have led him captive, there shall he die, and he shall see this land no more.
13યહોયાકીમ રાજા તારી પર શરમ છે, કારણ કે તેં પ્રામાણિકતાથી અને અન્યાયથી લોકો પર દબાણ મુક્યું છે, કે તારી માટે તેઓ સખત કામ કરે અને જેની ઉપરની તરફ ઓરડા હોય તેવો મહેલ બનાવે. તેં જ તારા સાથી માણસોને તેમને તેમનો પગાર આપ્યા વગર કામ કરવા માટે દબાણ કર્યુ હતું.
13Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by injustice; who uses his neighbor's service without wages, and doesn't give him his hire;
14તે કહે છે, “હું મારા માટે જેમાં વિશાળ ઉપરી ઓરડાઓ હોય તેવો એક ભવ્ય મહેલ બંધાવીશ, પછી તેમાં બારીઓ મૂકાવીશ, સુગંધીદાર એરેજકાષ્ટથી તેને મઢાવીશ તથા મનમોહક કિરમજી રંગથી તેને રંગાવીશ.”
14who says, I will build me a wide house and spacious chambers, and cuts him out windows; and it is ceiling with cedar, and painted with vermilion.
15પરંતુ ભવ્ય મહેલ બનાવ્યા તેથી કાઇં મહાન રાજા થઇ શકાતું નથી! તારા પિતા યોશિયાએ શા માટે ઘણાં વષોર્ સુધી રાજ કર્યું? કારણ કે તે ન્યાયી હતો અને સર્વ વ્યવહારમાં પ્રામાણિક હતો. તેથી દેવે તેને આશીર્વાદ આપ્યો હતો.
15Shall you reign, because you strive to excel in cedar? Didn't your father eat and drink, and do justice and righteousness? then it was well with him.
16ગરીબો તથા જરૂરતમંદોને ન્યાય તથા સહાય પૂરી પાડવામાં તેણે કાળજી રાખી, તેથી તે બધી વાતે સુખી હતો. આમ કરવાથી માણસ દેવની નજીક રહી શકે છે. આ યહોવાના વચન છે.
16He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well. Wasn't this to know me? says Yahweh.
17પણ તને તો સ્વાર્થ સિવાય બીજું કશું જોવાને આંખો જ નથી, નથી તને નિદોર્ષનું લોહી રેડવા અને ઘાતકી અત્યાચારો કરવા સિવાય બીજા કશા વિચાર આવતા. આ યહોવાના વચન છે.
17But your eyes and your heart are not but for your covetousness, and for shedding innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it.
18તે માટે યહૂદિયાના રાજા યોશિયાના પુત્ર યહોયાકીમ વિષે યહોવા કહે છે કે, “તે મૃત્યુ પામશે ત્યારે તેનું કુટુંબ તેને માટે શોક કરશે નહિ, ઓ મારા ભાઇ! અથવા ઓ મારી બહેન! એવું બોલીને રડશે નહિ. તેની પ્રજા પણ તેના મૃત્યુની નોંધ લેશે નહિ. ‘મારા માલિક! મારા રાજા!’ એમ કહીને કોઇ રડશે નહિ.
18Therefore thus says Yahweh concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah: they shall not lament for him, saying, Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! They shall not lament for him, saying Ah lord! or, Ah his glory!
19એક ગધેડાંના જેવી તેની અંતિમ યાત્રા થશે, તેને ઘસડીને યરૂશાલેમના દરવાજા બહાર નાખી આવશે.”
19He shall be buried with the burial of a donkey, drawn and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem.
20હે યરૂશાલેમની પ્રજા, લબાનોનના પહાડ પર જઇને હાંક માર! બાશાનમાં જઇને પોકાર કર! અબારીમ પર્વત પરથી હાંક માર! કારણ, તારા બધા મિત્રો પાયમાલ થઇ ગયા છે.
20Go up to Lebanon, and cry; and lift up your voice in Bashan, and cry from Abarim; for all your lovers are destroyed.
21જ્યારે તુ સમૃદ્ધ થતો હતો; ત્યારે મેં તારી સાથે વાત કરી હતી, પણ તેં કહ્યું, “હું નહિ સાંભળુ. તારી યુવાનીથી માંડીને તું આ રીતે વર્તતી આવી છે, તેં કદી મારું કહ્યું કર્યું નથી.
21I spoke to you in your prosperity; but you said, I will not hear. This has been your manner from your youth, that you didn't obey my voice.
22તારા સર્વ આગેવાનો પવન દ્વારા ઘસડાઇ જશે. તારા સર્વ મિત્રોને ગુલામો તરીકે દેશવટે લઇ જવામાં આવશે, આખરે તારી દુષ્ટતાને કારણે તારી બદનામી થશે, ને તું શરમ અનુભવશે.
22The wind shall feed all your shepherds, and your lovers shall go into captivity: surely then shall you be ashamed and confounded for all your wickedness.
23લબાનોનના એરેજવૃક્ષો મધ્યે ભવ્ય મહેલમાં સુખચેનથી રહેવું ઘણું સારું છે. પરંતુ પ્રસૂતાની વેદનાની જેમ તારા પર આફત આવશે ત્યારે તારી દશા, કેવી દયાજનક હશે!”
23Inhabitant of Lebanon, who makes your nest in the cedars, how greatly to be pitied shall you be when pangs come on you, the pain as of a woman in travail!
24જેમ સાચે જ હું જીવું છું, એવું યહોવા કહે છે, “જો યહૂદિયાના રાજા, યહોયાકીન રાજા યહોયાકીમના પુત્ર, જો તું મારા જમણા હાથ પરની વીંટી હોત, તો મેં તેને મારા હાથમાંથી દૂર કર્યો હોત.
24As I live, says Yahweh, though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet on my right hand, yet would I pluck you there;
25તું જેનાથી ડરે છે અને જે તારો જીવ લેવા તાકે છે તે બાબિલના રાજા નબૂખાદનેસ્સાર અને તેના સૈન્યના હાથમાં સોંપી દઇશ.
25and I will give you into the hand of those who seek your life, and into the hand of them of whom you are afraid, even into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of the Chaldeans.
26હું તને તથા તારી માતાને આ દેશમાંથી બહાર ફેંકી દઇશ. અને તમે પરદેશી ભૂમિમાં મૃત્યુ પામશો.
26I will cast you out, and your mother who bore you, into another country, where you were not born; and there shall you die.
27અને તમે જ્યાં પાછાં જવા માટે ઝૂરતાં હશો તે ભૂમિમાં કદી જવા પામશો નહિ.”
27But to the land whereunto their soul longs to return, there shall they not return.
28મેં કહ્યું, આ માણસ કોન્યા, એટલે ફૂટેલા અને ફેંકી દીધેલા ઘડા જેવો છે. તેને તથા તેનાં બાળકોને દૂરના અજાણ્યા પ્રદેશમાં ફેંકી દેવામાં આવ્યા છે. અને એક એવી ભૂમિમા નાંખી દેવામાં આવ્યા છે જેને તેઓ જાણતા પણ નથી.
28Is this man Coniah a despised broken vessel? is he a vessel in which none delights? why are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into the land which they don't know?
29હે ભૂમિ, ભૂમિ, ભૂમિ! તું યહોવાના વચન સાંભળ!
29O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of Yahweh.
30યહોવા કહે છે: “‘લખી રાખોકે આ માણસને સંતાન નહી થાય. જીવનમાં એ કદી સફળ નહિ થાય. એ કોઇ વંશજ નહિ મૂકી જાય, જે દાઉદના રાજ્યાસન પર બેસે અથવા ફરીથી યહૂદીઓ પર રાજ કરે.”‘
30Thus says Yahweh, Write you this man childless, a man who shall not prosper in his days; for no more shall a man of his seed prosper, sitting on the throne of David, and ruling in Judah.
