কিন্তু আমি আপন দাস ভাববাদিগণকে যাহা যাহা আজ্ঞা করিয়াছিলাম, আমার সেই সকল বাক্য ও বিধান কি তোমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদের লাগাল পায় নাই? তখন তাহারা ফিরিয়া আসিয়া কহিল, বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু আমাদের আচার ও ক্রিয়ানুসারে আমাদের প্রতি যেরূপ ব্যবহার করিতে মনস্থ করিয়াছিলেন, আমাদের প্রতি তদ্রূপ ব্যবহার করিয়াছেন।

But my words and my decrees, which I commanded my servants the prophets, didn't they overtake your fathers? "Then they repented and said, 'Just as Yahweh of Hosts determined to do to us, according to our ways, and according to our practices, so he has dealt with us.'"
