1দারিয়াবসের দ্বিতীয় বৎসরের অষ্টম মাসে সদাপ্রভুর এই বাক্য ইদ্দোর পৌত্র বেরিখিয়ের পুত্র সখরিয় ভাববাদীর নিকটে উপস্থিত হইল।
1In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of Yahweh came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, the prophet, saying,
2সদাপ্রভু তোমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদের প্রতি অতিশয় ক্রোধাবিষ্ট হইয়াছিলেন।
2"Yahweh was very displeased with your fathers.
3অতএব তুমি এই লোকদিগকে বল, বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু এই কথা কহেন; তোমরা আমার প্রতি ফির, ইহা বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু বলেন, আমিও তোমাদের প্রতি ফিরিব, ইহা বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু বলেন।
3Therefore tell them: Thus says Yahweh of Hosts: 'Return to me,' says Yahweh of Hosts, 'and I will return to you,' says Yahweh of Hosts.
4তোমরা তোমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদের, সদৃশ হইও না, তাহাদিগকে পূর্ব্বকালীন ভাববাদিগণ উচ্চৈঃস্বরে বলিত, বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু এই কথা কহেন, তোমরা আপন আপন কুপথ হইতে ও আপন আপন কুকায্য হইতে ফির; কিন্তু তাহারা শুনিত না, আমার কথায় কর্ণপাত করিত না, ইহা সদাপ্রভু বলেন।
4Don't you be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets proclaimed, saying: Thus says Yahweh of hosts, 'Return now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings;' but they did not hear, nor listen to me, says Yahweh.
5তোমাদের পিতৃপুরুষেরা কোথায়? এবং ভাববাদিগণ কি নিত্যজীবী?
5Your fathers, where are they? And the prophets, do they live forever?
6কিন্তু আমি আপন দাস ভাববাদিগণকে যাহা যাহা আজ্ঞা করিয়াছিলাম, আমার সেই সকল বাক্য ও বিধান কি তোমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদের লাগাল পায় নাই? তখন তাহারা ফিরিয়া আসিয়া কহিল, বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু আমাদের আচার ও ক্রিয়ানুসারে আমাদের প্রতি যেরূপ ব্যবহার করিতে মনস্থ করিয়াছিলেন, আমাদের প্রতি তদ্রূপ ব্যবহার করিয়াছেন।
6But my words and my decrees, which I commanded my servants the prophets, didn't they overtake your fathers? "Then they repented and said, 'Just as Yahweh of Hosts determined to do to us, according to our ways, and according to our practices, so he has dealt with us.'"
7দারিয়াবসের দ্বিতীয় বৎসরের একাদশ মাসের, অর্থাৎ শবাট মাসের, চতুর্ব্বিংশ দিনে সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য ইদ্দোর পৌত্র বেরিখিয়ের পুত্র সখরিয় ভাববাদীর নিকটে উপস্থিত হইল।
7On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Shebat, in the second year of Darius, the word of Yahweh came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, the prophet, saying,
8তিনি বলিলেন, আমি রাত্রিকালে দর্শন পাইলাম, আর দেখ, রক্তবর্ণ অশ্বে আরোহী এক পুরুষ, তিনি নিম্নভূমিস্থ গুলমেদিবৃক্ষ সকলের মধ্যে দাঁড়াইয়াছিলেন, এবং তাঁহার পশ্চাৎ রক্তবর্ণ, পাণ্ডুর ও শ্বেতবর্ণ কতিপয় অশ্ব ছিল।
8"I had a vision in the night, and, behold, a man riding on a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in a ravine; and behind him there were red, brown, and white horses.
9তখন আমি কহিলাম, হে আমার প্রভু, ইহারা কে? তাহাতে আমার সঙ্গে আলাপকারী দূত আমাকে কহিলেন, ইহারা কে, তাহা আমি তোমাকে জ্ঞাত করিব।
9Then I asked, 'My lord, what are these?'" The angel who talked with me said to me, "I will show you what these are."
10আর যে পুরুষ গুলমেদিবৃক্ষ সকলের মধ্যে দাঁড়াইয়াছিলেন, তিনি কহিলেন, সদাপ্রভু ইহাদিগকে পৃথিবীতে ইতস্ততঃ ভ্রমণ করিতে পাঠাইয়াছেন।
10The man who stood among the myrtle trees answered, "They are the ones Yahweh has sent to go back and forth through the earth."
11তখন তাহারা উত্তর করিয়া, যিনি গুলমেদিবৃক্ষ সকলের মধ্যে দাঁড়াইছিলেন, সদাপ্রভুর সেই দূতকে কহিল, আমরা পৃথিবীতে ইতস্ততঃ ভ্রমণ করিয়াছি, আর দেখ, সমস্ত পৃথিবী সুস্থির ও বিশ্রান্ত।
11They reported to the angel of Yahweh who stood among the myrtle trees, and said, "We have walked back and forth through the earth, and, behold, all the earth is at rest and in peace."
12তখন সদাপ্রভুর দূত কহিলেন, হে বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু, তুমি এই সত্তর বৎসর যাহাদের উপরে ক্রোধাবিষ্ট রহিয়াছ, সেই যিরূশালেমের প্রতি, ও যিহূদার নগর সকলের প্রতি করুণা করিতে কতকাল বিলম্ব করিবে?
12Then the angel of Yahweh replied, "O Yahweh of Hosts, how long will you not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which you have had indignation these seventy years?"
13তখন যে দূত আমার সহিত আলাপ করিতেছিলেন, সদাপ্রভু তাঁহাকে উত্তর দিয়া নানা মঙ্গলকথা, নানা সান্ত্বনাদায়ক কথা কহিলেন।
13Yahweh answered the angel who talked with me with kind and comforting words.
14আর যে দূত আমার সহিত আলাপ করিতেছিলেন, তিনি আমাকে কহিলেন, তুমি ঘোষণা করিয়া বল, বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, যিরূশালেমের পক্ষে ও সিয়োনের পক্ষে আমি মহা অন্তর্জ্বালায় জ্বালাযুক্ত হইয়াছি।
14So the angel who talked with me said to me, "Proclaim, saying, 'Thus says Yahweh of Hosts: "I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.
15আর নিশ্চিন্ত জাতিগণের প্রতি আমি মহাক্রোধাবিষ্ট হইয়াছি; কেননা আমি যৎকিঞ্চিৎ ক্রোধাবিষ্ট হইলে তাহারা অমঙ্গলার্থে সাহায্য করিল।
15I am very angry with the nations that are at ease; for I was but a little displeased, but they added to the calamity."
16এই জন্য সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, আমি করুণা করিয়া যিরূশালেমে ফিরিয়া আসিলাম; তাহার মধ্যে আমার গৃহ নির্ম্মিত হইবে, ইহা বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু বলেন; এবং যিরূশালেমে সূত্রপাত হইবে।
16Therefore thus says Yahweh: "I have returned to Jerusalem with mercy. My house shall be built in it," says Yahweh of Hosts, "and a line shall be stretched forth over Jerusalem."'
17তুমি আরও ঘোষণা করিয়া বল, বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু এই কথা কহেন, আমার নগর সকল পুনর্ব্বার মঙ্গলে আপ্লাবিত হইবে, এবং সদাপ্রভু সিয়োনকে পুনর্ব্বার সান্ত্বনা করিবেন, ও যিরূশালেমকে পুনর্ব্বার মনোনীত করিবেন।
17"Proclaim further, saying, 'Thus says Yahweh of Hosts: "My cities will again overflow with prosperity, and Yahweh will again comfort Zion, and will again choose Jerusalem."'"
18পরে আমি চক্ষু তুলিয়া দৃষ্টিপাত করিলাম, আর দেখ, চারি শৃঙ্গ।
18I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and, behold, four horns.
19তখন আমার সঙ্গে আলাপকারী দূতকে জিজ্ঞাসা করিলাম, এগুলি কি? তিনি আমাকে কহিলেন, এ সেই সকল শৃঙ্গ, যাহারা যিহূদা, ইস্রায়েল এবং যিরূশালেমকে ছিন্নভিন্ন করিয়াছে।
19I asked the angel who talked with me, "What are these?" He answered me, "These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem."
20পরে সদাপ্রভু আমাকে চারি জন কর্ম্মকার দেখাইলেন।
20Yahweh showed me four craftsmen.
21আমি জিজ্ঞাসা করিলাম, ইহারা কি করিতে আসিতেছে? তিনি কহিলেন, ঐ শৃঙ্গ সকল যিহূদাকে এমন ছিন্নভিন্ন করিয়াছে যে, কেহই মস্তক তুলিতে পারে নাই; কিন্তু যে জাতিগণ যিহূদা দেশকে ছিন্নভিন্ন করিবার জন্য শৃঙ্গ উঠাইয়াছে, তাহাদিগকে ভয় দেখাইবার জন্য ও তাহাদের শৃঙ্গ সকল নীচে ফেলিয়া দিবার জন্য ইহারা আসিতেছে।
21Then I asked, "What are these coming to do?" He said, "These are the horns which scattered Judah, so that no man lifted up his head; but these have come to terrify them, to cast down the horns of the nations, which lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter it."
