পরে তাহারা আপনাদের মধ্য হইতে বিজাতীয় দেবগণকে দূর করিয়া সদাপ্রভুর সেবা করিল; তাহাতে ইস্রায়েলের কষ্টে তাঁহার প্রাণ দুঃখিত হইল।

They put away the foreign gods from among them, and served Yahweh; and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.
