1মিসর দেশে বাসকারী, মিগ্‌দোলে, তফন্‌হেষে, নোফে ও পথ্রোষ প্রদেশে বাসকারী যিহূদীদের বিষয়ে যিরমিয়ের নিকটে এই বাক্য উপস্থিত হইল, বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু,
1The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews who lived in the land of Egypt, who lived at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Memphis, and in the country of Pathros, saying,
2ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর, এই কথা কহেন, যিরূশালেমের উপরে ও যিহূদার সমুদয় নগরের উপরে আমি যে সমস্ত অমঙ্গল উপস্থিত করিয়াছি, তাহা তোমরা দেখিয়াছ; দেখ, আজ সে সকল উৎসন্ন স্থান আছে, তথায় কেহ বাস করে না;
2Thus says Yahweh of Hosts, the God of Israel: You have seen all the evil that I have brought on Jerusalem, and on all the cities of Judah; and, behold, this day they are a desolation, and no man dwells therein,
3ইহার কারণ লোকদের দুষ্টতা, যাহা আমাকে অসন্তুষ্ট করণার্থে তাহারা করিত; তাহাদের, তোমাদের ও তোমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদের অপরিচিত অন্য দেবগণের সেবা করণার্থে তাহারা তাহাদের উদ্দেশে ধূপদাহ করিতে গমন করিত।
3because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, and to serve other gods, that they didn't know, neither they, nor you , nor your fathers.
4তথাপি আমি আমার সমস্ত দাস ভাববাদিগণকে তোমাদের নিকটে পাঠাইতাম, প্রত্যূষে উঠিয়া পাঠাইয়া বলিতাম, আহা, তোমরা আমার ঘৃণিত এই জঘন্য কার্য্য করিও না।
4However I sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Oh, don't do this abominable thing that I hate.
5কিন্তু তাহারা অবধান করিত না, এবং আপন আপন দুষ্ক্রিয়া হইতে ফিরিবার নিমিত্ত, অন্য দেবগণের উদ্দেশে আর ধূপ না জ্বালাইবার নিমিত্ত, কর্ণপাত করিত না।
5But they didn't listen, nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense to other gods.
6এই জন্য আমার কোপ ও ক্রোধ বর্ষিত হইল, যিহূদার নগরে নগরে ও যিরূশালেমের পথে পথে জ্বলিয়া উঠিল, তাহাতে সে সকল অদ্য যেমন রহিয়াছে, তেমনি উৎসন্ন ও ধ্বংসিত হইয়াছে।
6Therefore my wrath and my anger was poured forth, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as it is this day.
7অতএব এখন সদাপ্রভু, বাহিনীগণের ঈশ্বর, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর, এই কথা কহেন, তোমরা কেন আপন আপন প্রাণের বিরুদ্ধে মহাপাপ করিতেছ? এ কার্য্যে ত আপনাদের সম্পর্কীয় পুরুষ, স্ত্রী, বালক ও স্তন্যপায়ী শিশুদিগকে যিহূদার মধ্য হইতে উচ্ছিন্ন করিবে, আপনাদের কাহাকেও অবশিষ্ট রাখিবে না।
7Therefore now thus says Yahweh, the God of hosts, the God of Israel: Why commit you this great evil against your own souls, to cut off from you man and woman, infant and suckling, out of the midst of Judah, to leave you none remaining;
8তোমরা এই যে মিসর দেশে প্রবাসার্থে আসিয়াছ, এখানে অন্য দেবগণের উদ্দেশে ধূপদাহ করিয়া কেন আপনাদের হস্তকৃত কর্ম্ম দ্বারা আমাকে অসন্তুষ্ট করিতেছ? তোমরা উচ্ছিন্ন হইবে, এবং পৃথিবীস্থ সমুদয় জাতির মধ্যে শাপের ও টিটকারির পাত্র হইবে।
8in that you provoke me to anger with the works of your hands, burning incense to other gods in the land of Egypt, where you are gone to sojourn; that you may be cut off, and that you may be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?
9তোমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদের দুষ্ক্রিয়া যিহূদার রাজাদের দুষ্ক্রিয়া, তাহাদের স্ত্রীগণের দুষ্ক্রিয়া, তোমাদের নিজেদের দুষ্ক্রিয়া ও তোমাদের স্ত্রীগণের দুষ্ক্রিয়া, যাহা যিহূদা দেশে ও যিরূশালেমের পথে পথে করা হইত, সে সমস্ত কি ভুলিয়া গিয়াছ?
9Have you forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, and the wickedness of the kings of Judah, and the wickedness of their wives, and your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives which they committed in the land of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem?
10এই লোকেরা অদ্য পর্য্যন্ত চূর্ণমনা হয় নাই, ভয়ও করে নাই, এবং আমি আপনার যে ব্যবস্থা ও বিধিকলাপ তোমাদের সম্মুখে ও তোমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদের সম্মুখে রাখিয়াছি ইহারা তদনুসারে আচরণ করে নাই।
10They are not humbled even to this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in my law, nor in my statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers.
11এই জন্য বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর, এই কথা কহেন, দেখ, আমি তোমাদের অমঙ্গল করিতে ও সমস্ত যিহূদাকে উচ্ছিন্ন করিতে উন্মুখ হইলাম।
11Therefore thus says Yahweh of Hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will set my face against you for evil, even to cut off all Judah.
12আর আমি যিহূদার অবশিষ্টাংশকে, অর্থাৎ যাহারা মিসর দেশে প্রবাস করিতে যাইবার জন্য উন্মুখ হইয়াছে, তাহাদিগকে ধরিব; তাহারা সকলে বিনষ্ট হইবে, মিসর দেশেই পতিত হইবে; তাহারা খড়্‌গ ও দুর্ভিক্ষ দ্বারা বিনষ্ট হইবে; ক্ষুদ্র ও মহান্‌ সকলে খড়্‌গে ও দুর্ভিক্ষে মারা পড়িবে, এবং অভিসম্পাত, বিস্ময়, শাপ ও টিটকারির পাত্র হইবে।
12I will take the remnant of Judah, that have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, and they shall all be consumed; in the land of Egypt shall they fall; they shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine; they shall die, from the least even to the greatest, by the sword and by the famine; and they shall be an object of horror, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach.
13আমি যেমন খড়্‌গ, দুর্ভিক্ষ ও মহামারী দ্বারা যিরূশালেমকে দণ্ড দিয়াছি, তদ্রূপ মিসর দেশ-নিবাসীদিগকে দণ্ড দিব;
13For I will punish those who dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence;
14তাহাতে যিহূদার যে অবশিষ্ট লোক মিসরে প্রবাস করিতে আসিয়াছে, তাহাদের মধ্যে কেহ উত্তীর্ণ কি রক্ষাপ্রাপ্ত হইবে না; সেই যিহূদা দেশে ফিরিয়া যাইতে পারিবে না, সেখানে বাস করিবার জন্য ফিরিয়া যাইতে বাঞ্ছা করিতেছে; কতকগুলি পলাতক ভিন্ন আর কেহ ফিরিয়া যাইবে না।
14so that none of the remnant of Judah, who have gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall escape or be left, to return into the land of Judah, to which they have a desire to return to dwell there: for none shall return save such as shall escape.
15তখন যে সকল পুরুষ জ্ঞাত ছিল যে, তাহাদের স্ত্রীরা অন্য দেবগণের উদ্দেশে ধূপ জ্বালাইয়াছে, তাহারা এবং নিকটে দণ্ডায়মান সমস্ত স্ত্রীলোক, এক মহাসমাজ, অর্থাৎ মিসরের পথ্রোষ প্রদেশে বাসকারী সমস্ত লোক যিরমিয়কে উত্তর দিয়া কহিল,
15Then all the men who knew that their wives burned incense to other gods, and all the women who stood by, a great assembly, even all the people who lived in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,
16তুমি সদাপ্রভুর নামে আমাদিগকে যে কথা বলিয়াছ, তোমার সে কথা আমরা শুনিব না;
16As for the word that you have spoken to us in the name of Yahweh, we will not listen to you.
17কিন্তু আমাদেরই মুখনির্গত সমস্ত বাক্যানুরূপ কার্য্য করিবই করিব, আকাশরাণীর উদ্দেশে ধূপ জ্বালাইব ও পেয় নৈবেদ্য ঢালিব; আমরা ও আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষগণ, আমাদের রাজগণ, ও আমাদের অধ্যক্ষগণ যিহূদার নগরে নগরে ও যিরূশালেমের পথে পথে তাহাই করিতাম, আর তৎকালে আমরা ভক্ষ্যদ্রব্যে তৃপ্ত হইতাম, এবং সুখে ছিলাম, কোন অমঙ্গল দেখিতাম না।
17But we will certainly perform every word that is gone forth out of our mouth, to burn incense to the queen of the sky, and to pour out drink-offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem; for then had we plenty of food, and were well, and saw no evil.
18কিন্তু যে অবধি আমরা আকাশরাণীর উদ্দেশে ধূপ জ্বালান ও পেয় নৈবেদ্য ঢালা ছাড়িয়া দিয়াছি, সে অবধি আমাদের সমস্ত বস্তুর অভাব হইতেছে, এবং আমরা খড়্‌গ ও দুর্ভিক্ষ দ্বারা বিনষ্ট হইতেছি।
18But since we left off burning incense to the queen of the sky, and pouring out drink-offerings to her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.
19আর আমরা যখন আকাশরাণীর উদ্দেশে ধূপ জ্বালাইতাম ও পেয় নৈবেদ্য ঢালিতাম, তখন কি আপন আপন স্বামী ব্যতিরেকে তাঁহার পূজার জন্য পূপ প্রস্তুত করিতাম, ও তাঁহার উদ্দেশে পেয় নৈবেদ্য ঢালিতাম?
19When we burned incense to the queen of the sky, and poured out drink-offerings to her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink-offerings to her, without our husbands?
20পরে যিরমিয় সমস্ত লোককে, পুরুষ, কি স্ত্রী যত লোক সেই উত্তর দিয়াছিল, সেই সমস্ত লোককে এই কথা কহিলেন,
20Then Jeremiah said to all the people, to the men, and to the women, even to all the people who had given him who answer, saying,
21যিহূদার নগরে নগরে ও যিরূশালেমের পথে পথে তোমরা ও তোমাদের পিতৃপুরুষগণ, তোমাদের রাজগণ, ও অধ্যক্ষগণ, এবং জনপদস্থ প্রজাগণ যে, ধূপদাহ করিতে, সদাপ্রভু কি সেই ধূপদাহ স্মরণ করেন নাই, তাহা কি তাঁহার মনে পড়ে নাই?
21The incense that you burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, you and your fathers, your kings and your princes, and the people of the land, didn't Yahweh remember them, and didn't it come into his mind?
22সদাপ্রভু তোমাদের আচারের দুষ্টতা ও তোমাদের কৃত ঘৃণার্হ ক্রিয়া প্রযুক্ত আর সহ্য করিতে পারিলেন না, এই জন্য তোমাদের দেশ অদ্য যেমন রহিয়াছে, তেমনি উৎসন্ন, বিস্ময়জনক, শাপগ্রস্ত ও নিবাসী-বিহীন হইল।
22so that Yahweh could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which you have committed; therefore is your land become a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without inhabitant, as it is this day.
23তোমরা ধূপদাহ করিয়াছ, সদাপ্রভুর বিরুদ্ধে পাপ করিয়াছ, সদাপ্রভুর রবে অবধান কর নাই, এবং তাঁহার ব্যবস্থা, বিধি ও সাক্ষ্যানুসারে চল নাই, তজ্জন্যই অদ্য যেমন রহিয়াছে, তেমনি তোমাদের প্রতি এই অমঙ্গল ঘটিয়াছে।
23Because you have burned incense, and because you have sinned against Yahweh, and have not obeyed the voice of Yahweh, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened to you, as it is this day.
24যিরমিয় সমস্ত পুরুষলোককে এবং সমস্ত স্ত্রীলোককে আরও কহিলেন, হে মিসর দেশস্থ সমস্ত যিহূদী, তোমরা সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য শুন;
24Moreover Jeremiah said to all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of Yahweh, all Judah who are in the land of Egypt:
25বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর, এই কথা কহেন, তোমরা ও তোমাদের স্ত্রীরা মুখে যাহা বলিয়াছ, হস্ত দ্বারা তাহা সম্পন্ন করিয়াছ, তোমরা বলিয়াছ, ‘আমরা আকাশরাণীর উদ্দেশে ধূপদাহ করিবার ও পেয় নৈবেদ্য ঢালিবার যে মানত করিয়াছি, তাহা অবশ্য সিদ্ধ করিব;’ ভাল, তোমাদের মানত অটল কর, তোমাদের মানত সিদ্ধ কর।
25Thus says Yahweh of Hosts, the God of Israel, saying, You and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and with your hands have fulfilled it, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of the sky, and to pour out drink-offerings to her: establish then your vows, and perform your vows.
26অতএব, হে মিসর-দেশনিবাসী সমস্ত যিহূদী, সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য শুন; সদাপ্রভু কহেন, দেখ, আমি আপন মহানামে শপথ করিয়াছি, ‘জীবন্ত প্রভু সদাপ্রভুর দিব্য,’ এই কথা বলিয়া মিসর দেশস্থ কোন যিহূদী আমার নাম আর মুখে আনিবে না।
26Therefore hear the word of Yahweh, all Judah who dwell in the land of Egypt: Behold, I have sworn by my great name, says Yahweh, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, As the Lord Yahweh lives.
27দেখ, আমি তাহাদের অমঙ্গলের নিমিত্ত জাগরূক, মঙ্গলের নিমিত্ত নয়; তাহাতে মিসর দেশস্থ সমস্ত যিহূদার লোক খড়্‌গ, দুর্ভিক্ষ ও মহামারী দ্বারা নিঃশেষে বিনষ্ট হইবে।
27Behold, I watch over them for evil, and not for good; and all the men of Judah who are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.
28খড়্‌গ হইতে উত্তীর্ণ অতি অল্প লোক মিসর দেশ হইতে যিহূদা দেশে ফিরিয়া যাইবে; ইহাতে যিহূদার অবশিষ্ট সমস্ত লোক, যাহারা মিসর দেশে প্রবাস করণার্থে এখানে আসিয়াছে, তাহারা জানিতে পারিবে যে, কাহার বাক্য অটল থাকিবে, আমার কি তাহাদের।
28Those who escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, few in number; and all the remnant of Judah, who have gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall know whose word shall stand, mine, or theirs.
29সদাপ্রভু কহেন, তোমাদের কাছে ইহাই চিহ্ন হইবে যে, আমি এই স্থানে তোমাদিগকে প্রতিফল দিব, যেন তোমরা জানিতে পার যে, তোমাদের বিরুদ্ধে আমার বাক্য অবশ্য অটল থাকিবে, অমঙ্গলের নিমিত্ত।
29This shall be the sign to you, says Yahweh, that I will punish you in this place, that you may know that my words shall surely stand against you for evil:
30সদাপ্রভু এই কথা কহেন, দেখ, আমি যেমন যিহূদা-রাজ সিদিকিয়কে তাহার প্রাণনাশে সচেষ্ট শত্রু বাবিল-রাজ নবূখদ্‌রিৎসরের হস্তে সমর্পণ করিয়াছি, তেমনি মিসর-রাজ ফরৌণ-হফ্রাকেও তাহার শত্রুদের হস্তে, যাহারা তাহার প্রাণনাশে সচেষ্ট, তাহাদের হস্তে সমর্পণ করিব।
30Thus says Yahweh, Behold, I will give Pharaoh Hophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies, and into the hand of those who seek his life; as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, who was his enemy, and sought his life.
