1ইতিমধ্যে অহসিয়ের মাতা অথলিয়া যখন দেখিল যে, তাহার পুত্র মরিয়াছে, তখন সে উঠিয়া সমস্ত রাজবংশ বিনষ্ট করিল।
1Now when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal.
2কিন্তু যোরাম রাজার কন্যা, অহসিয়ের ভগিনী যিহোশেবা, অহসিয়ের পুত্র যোয়াশকে লইয়া, নিহত রাজপুত্রদের মধ্য হইতে চুরি করিয়া, তাঁহার ধাত্রীর সহিত শয্যাগারে রাখিলেন; তাঁহারা অথলিয়া হইতে তাঁহাকে লুকাইলেন, এই জন্য তিনি হত হন নাই।
2But Jehosheba, the daughter of king Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him away from among the king's sons who were slain, even him and his nurse, and put them in the bedchamber; and they hid him from Athaliah, so that he was not slain;
3আর তিনি তাঁহার সহিত সদাপ্রভুর গৃহে ছয় বৎসর যাবৎ লুক্কায়িত রহিলেন; তখন অথলিয়া দেশের উপরে রাজত্ব করিতেছিল।
3He was with her hid in the house of Yahweh six years. Athaliah reigned over the land.
4পরে সপ্তম বৎসরে যিহোয়াদা লোক প্রেরণ করিয়া রক্ষক ও ধাবক সৈন্যের শতপতিদিগকে ডাকাইয়া আপনার নিকটে সদাপ্রভুর গৃহে আনিলেন, এবং তাহাদের সহিত নিয়ম করিয়া সদাপ্রভুর গৃহে তাহাদিগকে শপথ করাইয়া রাজপুত্রকে দেখাইলেন।
4In the seventh year Jehoiada sent and fetched the captains over hundreds of the Carites and of the guard, and brought them to him into the house of Yahweh; and he made a covenant with them, and took an oath of them in the house of Yahweh, and shown them the king's son.
5আর তিনি তাহাদিগকে আজ্ঞা দিয়া কহিলেন, তোমরা এই কার্য্য করিবে; তোমাদের মধ্যে যাহারা বিশ্রামদিনে প্রবেশ করিবে, তাহাদের তৃতীয়াংশ রাজবাটীর প্রহরীকার্য্য করিবে; তৃতীয়াংশ সূরদ্বারে থাকিবে;
5He commanded them, saying, This is the thing that you shall do: a third part of you, who come in on the Sabbath, shall be keepers of the watch of the king's house;
6এবং তৃতীয়াংশ ধাবক সৈন্যের পশ্চাতে দ্বারে থাকিবে; এইরূপে তোমরা আক্রমণ নিবারণার্থে গৃহের প্রহরীকার্য্য করিবে।
6A third part shall be at the gate Sur; and a third part at the gate behind the guard: so shall you keep the watch of the house, and be a barrier.
7আর তোমাদের, অর্থাৎ যাহারা বিশ্রামবারে বাহিরে যায়, তাহাদের সকলের, দুই দল রাজার সমীপে সদাপ্রভুর গৃহের প্রহরীকার্য্য করিবে।
7The two companies of you, even all who go forth on the Sabbath, shall keep the watch of the house of Yahweh about the king.
8তোমরা প্রত্যেক জন স্ব স্ব হস্তে অস্ত্র লইয়া রাজাকে বেষ্টন করিবে; আর যে কেহ শ্রেণীর ভিতরে আইসে, সে হত হইবে; এবং রাজা যখন বাহিরে যান, কিম্বা ভিতরে আইসেন, তখন তোমরা তাঁহার সঙ্গে থাকিবে।
8You shall compass the king round about, every man with his weapons in his hand; and he who comes within the ranks, let him be slain: and be you with the king when he goes out, and when he comes in.
9পরে যিহোয়াদা যাজক যাহা যাহা আজ্ঞা করিলেন, শতপতিরা তদনুসারে সকলই করিল; কারণ তাহারা প্রত্যেক জন আপন আপন লোকদিগকে, যাহারা বিশ্রামবারে ভিতরে যায়, বা বিশ্রামবারে বাহিরে আইসে, তাহাদিগকে লইয়া যিহোয়াদা যাজকের নিকটে আসিল।
9The captains over hundreds did according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded; and they took every man his men, those who were to come in on the Sabbath, with those who were to go out on the Sabbath, and came to Jehoiada the priest.
10পরে দায়ূদ রাজার যে বড়শা ও ঢাল সদাপ্রভুর গৃহে ছিল, তাহা যাজক শতপতিদিগকে দিলেন।
10The priest delivered to the captains over hundreds the spears and shields that had been king David's, which were in the house of Yahweh.
11আর গৃহের দক্ষিণ পার্শ্ব অবধি গৃহের বাম পার্শ্ব পর্য্যন্ত যজ্ঞবেদির ও গৃহের নিকটে ধাবক সৈন্য প্রত্যেক জন স্ব স্ব হস্তে অস্ত্র লইয়া রাজার চারিদিকে দাঁড়াইল।
11The guard stood, every man with his weapons in his hand, from the right side of the house to the left side of the house, along by the altar and the house, by the king round about.
12পরে তিনি রাজপুত্রকে বাহিরে আনিয়া তাঁহার মস্তকে মুকুট দিলেন, ও তাঁহাকে সাক্ষ্যপুস্তক দিলেন, এবং তাঁহারা তাঁহাকে রাজা করিলেন, ও অভিষেক করিলেন; আর করতালি দিয়া কহিলেন, রাজা চিরজীবী হইন।
12Then he brought out the king's son, and put the crown on him, and gave him the testimony; and they made him king, and anointed him; and they clapped their hands, and said, Long live the king.
13তখন অথলিয়া ধাবক সৈন্যের ও লোকদের কোলাহল শুনিয়া সদাপ্রভুর গৃহে লোকদের নিকটে আসিল;
13When Athaliah heard the noise of the guard and of the people, she came to the people into the house of Yahweh:
14আর দৃষ্টিপাত করিল, আর দেখ, রাজা যথারীতি মঞ্চের উপরে দাঁড়াইয়া আছেন, এবং সেনাপতিগণ ও তূরীবাদকগণ রাজার নিকটে আছে, এবং দেশের সমস্ত লোক আনন্দ করিতেছে ও তূরী বাজাইতেছে। তখন অথলিয়া আপনার বস্ত্র ছিঁড়িয়া ‘রাজদ্রোহ, রাজদ্রোহ’ বলিয়া চেঁচাইয়া উঠিল।
14and she looked, and, behold, the king stood by the pillar, as the manner was, and the captains and the trumpets by the king; and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew trumpets. Then Athaliah tore her clothes, and cried, Treason! treason!
15কিন্তু যিহোয়াদা যাজক সৈন্যদলের উপরে নিযুক্ত শতপতিদিগকে আজ্ঞা করিয়া কহিলেন, উহাকে বাহির করিয়া দুই শ্রেণীর মধ্য দিয়া লইয়া যাও; আর যে উহার পশ্চাতে যাইবে, তাহাকে খড়্‌গ দ্বারা বধ কর; কারণ যাজক বলিয়াছিলেন, সে যেন সদাপ্রভুর গৃহমধ্যে হত না হয়।
15Jehoiada the priest commanded the captains of hundreds who were set over the host, and said to them, Have her forth between the ranks; and him who follows her kill with the sword. For the priest said, Don't let her be slain in the house of Yahweh.
16পরে লোকেরা তাহার জন্য দুই পংক্তি হইয়া পথ ছাড়িলে সে অশ্বদ্বারের পথ দিয়া রাজবাটীতে প্রবেশ করিল; এবং সেই স্থানে হত হইল।
16So they made way for her; and she went by the way of the horses' entry to the king's house: and there was she slain.
17আর যিহোয়াদা সদাপ্রভুর এবং রাজার ও লোকদের মধ্যে এক নিয়ম করিলেন, যেন তাহারা সদাপ্রভুর প্রজা হয়; রাজার ও লোকদের মধ্যেও নিয়ম করিলেন।
17Jehoiada made a covenant between Yahweh and the king and the people, that they should be Yahweh's people; between the king also and the people.
18পরে দেশের সমস্ত লোক বালের গৃহে গিয়া তাহা ভাঙ্গিয়া ফেলিল, এবং তাহার যজ্ঞবেদি ও প্রতিমা সকল একেবারে চূর্ণ করিয়া ফেলিল, ও বেদি সকলের সম্মুখে বালের যাজক মত্তনকে বধ করিল। পরে যাজক সদাপ্রভুর গৃহের উপরে কর্ম্মচারীদিগকে নিযুক্ত করিলেন।
18All the people of the land went to the house of Baal, and broke it down; his altars and his images broke they in pieces thoroughly, and killed Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. The priest appointed officers over the house of Yahweh.
19আর তিনি শতপতিদিগকে এবং রক্ষক ও ধাবক সেনাগণকে ও দেশের সমস্ত লোককে সঙ্গে লইলেন; তাহারা সদাপ্রভুর গৃহ হইতে রাজাকে লইয়া ধাবক সৈন্যের দ্বারের পথ দিয়া রাজবাটীতে আসিল; আর তিনি রাজ-সিংহাসনে বসিলেন।
19He took the captains over hundreds, and the Carites, and the guard, and all the people of the land; and they brought down the king from the house of Yahweh, and came by the way of the gate of the guard to the king's house. He sat on the throne of the kings.
20তখন দেশের সমস্ত লোক আনন্দ করিল, এবং নগর সুস্থির হইল; আর অথলিয়াকে তাহারা রাজবাটীতে খড়্‌গ দ্বারা বধ করিয়াছিল।
20So all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet. Athaliah they had slain with the sword at the king's house.
21যিহোয়াশ সাত বৎসর বয়সে রাজত্ব করিতে আরম্ভ করেন।
21Jehoash was seven years old when he began to reign.
