1இஸ்ரவேல் எகிப்திலும், யாக்கோபின் குடும்பம் அந்நிய பாஷைக்காரரான ஜனத்திலுமிருந்து புறப்பட்டபோது,
1When Israel went forth out of Egypt, The house of Jacob from a people of foreign language;
2யூதா அவருக்குப் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தானமும், இஸ்ரவேல் அவருக்கு இராஜ்யமுமாயிற்று.
2Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion.
3கடல் கண்டு விலகி ஓடிற்று; யோர்தான் பின்னிட்டுத் திரும்பினது.
3The sea saw it, and fled. The Jordan was driven back.
4மலைகள் ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களைப்போலவும், குன்றுகள் ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகளைப்போலவும் துள்ளினது.
4The mountains skipped like rams, The little hills like lambs.
5கடலே, நீ விலகியோடுகிறதற்கும்; யோர்தானே, நீ பின்னிட்டுத் திரும்புகிறதற்கும்;
5What was it, you sea, that you fled? You Jordan, that you turned back?
6மலைகளே, நீங்கள் ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களைப்போலவும்; குன்றுகளே, நீங்கள் ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகளைப்போலவும் துள்ளுகிறதற்கும், உங்களுக்கு என்ன வந்தது?
6You mountains, that you skipped like rams; You little hills, like lambs?
7பூமியே, நீ ஆண்டவருக்கு முன்பாகவும், யாக்கோபுடைய தேவனுக்கு முன்பாகவும் அதிரு.
7Tremble, you earth, at the presence of the Lord, At the presence of the God of Jacob,
8அவர் கன்மலையைத் தண்ணீர்த் தடாகமாகவும், கற்பாறையை நீரூற்றுகளாகவும் மாற்றுகிறார்.
8Who turned the rock into a pool of water, The flint into a spring of waters.
