1யோபே, என் நியாயங்களைக் கேளும்; என் வார்த்தைகளுக்கெல்லாம் செவிகொடும்.
1"However, Job, Please hear my speech, And listen to all my words.
2இதோ, என் வாயை இப்போது திறந்தேன்; என் வாயிலிருக்கிற என் நாவானது பேசும்.
2See now, I have opened my mouth. My tongue has spoken in my mouth.
3என் வார்த்தைகள் என் இருதயத்தின் உண்மைக்கு ஒத்திருக்கும்; நான் அறிந்ததை என் உதடுகள் சுத்தமாய் வசனிக்கும்.
3My words shall utter the uprightness of my heart; That which my lips know they shall speak sincerely.
4தேவனுடைய ஆவியானவர் என்னை உண்டாக்கினார்; சர்வவல்லவருடைய சுவாசம் எனக்கு உயிர்கொடுத்தது.
4The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
5உம்மாலே கூடுமானால் எனக்கு மறுமொழி கொடும்; நீர் ஆயத்தப்பட்டு எனக்கு எதிராக நில்லும்.
5If you can, answer me; Set your words in order before me, and stand forth.
6இதோ, உம்மைப்போல நானும் தேவனால் உண்டானவன்; நானும் மண்ணினால் உருவாக்கப்பட்டவன்.
6Behold, I am toward God even as you are: I am also formed out of the clay.
7இதோ, நீர் எனக்குப் பயப்பட்டுக் கலங்கத் தேவையில்லை; என் கை உம்மேல் பாரமாயிருக்கமாட்டாது.
7Behold, my terror shall not make you afraid, Neither shall my pressure be heavy on you.
8நான் காதாரக் கேட்க நீர் சொன்னதும், எனக்குக் கேள்வியான உம்முடைய வார்த்தைகளின் சத்தமும் என்னவென்றால்:
8"Surely you have spoken in my hearing, I have heard the voice of your words, saying,
9நான் மீறுதல் இல்லாத சுத்தன், நான் குற்றமற்றவன், என்னில் அக்கிரமமில்லை.
9'I am clean, without disobedience. I am innocent, neither is there iniquity in me:
10இதோ, என்னில் அவர் குற்றம்பிடிக்கப்பார்க்கிறார், என்னைத் தமக்குச் சத்துருவாக எண்ணிக்கொள்ளுகிறார்.
10Behold, he finds occasions against me, He counts me for his enemy:
11அவர் என் கால்களைத் தொழுவிலே மாட்டி, என் நடைகளையெல்லாம் காவல்படுத்துகிறார் என்று சொன்னீர்.
11He puts my feet in the stocks, He marks all my paths.'
12இதிலே நீர் நீதியுள்ளவர் அல்லவென்று உமக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாகச் சொல்லுகிறேன்; மனுஷனைப்பார்க்கிலும் தேவன் பெரியவராயிருக்கிறார்.
12"Behold, I will answer you. In this you are not just; For God is greater than man.
13அவர் தம்முடைய செயல்கள் எல்லாவற்றையுங்குறித்துக் காரணம் சொல்லவில்லையென்று நீர் அவரோடே ஏன் வழக்காடுகிறீர்?
13Why do you strive against him, Because he doesn't give account of any of his matters?
14தேவன் ஒருவிசை சொல்லியிருக்கிற காரியத்தை இரண்டாம்விசை பார்த்துத் திருத்துகிறவரல்லவே.
14For God speaks once, Yes twice, though man pays no attention.
15கனநித்திரை மனுஷர்மேல் இறங்கி, அவர்கள் படுக்கையின்மேல் அயர்ந்திருக்கையில்,
15In a dream, in a vision of the night, When deep sleep falls on men, In slumbering on the bed;
16அவர் இராக்காலத்துத் தரிசனமான சொப்பனத்திலே மனுஷருடைய செவிக்குத் தாம் செய்யும் காரியத்தை வெளிப்படுத்தி, அதை அவர்களுக்கு வரும் தண்டனையினாலே முத்திரைபோட்டு,
16Then he opens the ears of men, And seals their instruction,
17மனுஷன் தன்னுடைய செய்கையைவிட்டு நீங்கவும், மனுஷருடைய பெருமை அடங்கவும் செய்கிறார்.
17That he may withdraw man from his purpose, And hide pride from man.
18இவ்விதமாய் அவன் ஆத்துமாவைப் படுகுழிக்கும், அவன் ஜீவனைப் பட்டய வெட்டுக்கும் தப்புவிக்கிறார்.
18He keeps back his soul from the pit, And his life from perishing by the sword.
19அவன் தன் படுக்கையிலே வாதையினாலும், தன் சகல எலும்புகளிலும் அகோரமான நோவினாலும் தண்டிக்கப்படுகிறான்.
19He is chastened also with pain on his bed, With continual strife in his bones;
20அவன் ஜீவன் அப்பத்தையும், அவன் ஆத்துமா ருசிகரமான போஜனத்தையும் அரோசிக்கும்.
20So that his life abhors bread, And his soul dainty food.
21அவன் மாம்சம் காணப்படாதபடிக்கு அழிந்து, மூடப்பட்டிருந்த அவன் எலும்புகள் வெளிப்படுகிறது.
21His flesh is so consumed away, that it can't be seen; His bones that were not seen stick out.
22அவன் ஆத்துமா பாதாளத்துக்கும், அவன் பிராணன் சாவுக்கும் சமீபிக்கிறது.
22Yes, his soul draws near to the pit, And his life to the destroyers.
23ஆயிரத்தில் ஒருவராகிய சாமாசிபண்ணுகிற தூதனானவர் மனுஷனுக்குத் தம்முடைய நிதானத்தை அறிவிக்கும்படிக்கு, அவனுக்கு அநுசாரியாயிருந்தாரேயாகில்,
23"If there is beside him an angel, An interpreter, one among a thousand, To show to man what is right for him;
24அவர் அவனுக்கு இரங்கி, அவன் படுகுழியில் இறங்காதபடிக்கு: நீர் அவனை இரட்சியும்; மீட்கும் பொருளை நான் கண்டுபிடித்தேன் என்பார்.
24Then God is gracious to him, and says, 'Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom.'
25அப்பொழுது அவன் மாம்சம் வாலிபத்தில் இருந்ததைப்பார்க்கிலும் ஆரோக்கியமடையும்; தன் வாலவயது நாட்களுக்குத் திரும்புவான்.
25His flesh shall be fresher than a child's; He returns to the days of his youth.
26அவன் தேவனை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணும்போது, அவன் அவருடைய சமுகத்தைக் கெம்பீரத்தோடே பார்க்கும்படி அவர் அவன்மேல் பிரியமாகி, அந்த மனுஷனுக்கு அவனுடைய நீதியின் பலனைக் கொடுப்பார்.
26He prays to God, and he is favorable to him, So that he sees his face with joy: He restores to man his righteousness.
27அவன் மனுஷரை நோக்கிப் பார்த்து: நான் பாவஞ்செய்து செம்மையானதைப் புரட்டினேன், அது எனக்குப் பிரயோஜனமாயிருக்கவில்லை.
27He sings before men, and says, 'I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, And it didn't profit me.
28என் ஆத்துமா படுகுழியில் இறங்காதபடி, அவர் அதை இரட்சிப்பார்; ஆகையால் என் பிராணன் வெளிச்சத்தைக் காணும் என்று சொல்லுவான்.
28He has redeemed my soul from going into the pit, My life shall see the light.'
29இதோ, தேவன் மனுஷனுடைய ஆத்துமாவைப் படுகுழிக்கு விலக்குகிறதற்கும், அவனை ஜீவனுள்ளோரின் வெளிச்சத்தினாலே பிரகாசிப்பிக்கிறதற்கும்,
29"Behold, God works all these things, Twice, yes three times, with a man,
30அவர் இவைகளையெல்லாம் அவனிடத்தில் பலமுறை நடப்பிக்கிறார்.
30To bring back his soul from the pit, That he may be enlightened with the light of the living.
31யோபே, நீர் கவனித்து என் சொல்லைக் கேளும்; நான் பேசப்போகிறேன், நீர் மவுனமாயிரும்.
31Mark well, Job, and listen to me: Hold your peace, and I will speak.
32சொல்லத்தக்க நியாயங்கள் இருந்ததேயானால், எனக்கு மறுஉத்தரவு கொடும்; நீர் பேசும், உம்மை நீதிமானாகத் தீர்க்க எனக்கு ஆசையுண்டு.
32If you have anything to say, answer me: Speak, for I desire to justify you.
33ஒன்றும் இல்லாதிருந்ததேயாகில் நீர் என் சொல்லைக் கேளும், மவுனமாயிரும், நான் உமக்கு ஞானத்தை உபதேசிப்பேன் என்றான்.
33If not, listen to me: Hold your peace, and I will teach you wisdom."
