1யோபு பிரதியுத்தரமாக:
1Then Job answered,
2என் வசனத்தைக் கவனமாய்க் கேளுங்கள்; இது நீங்கள் என்னைத் தேற்றரவுபண்ணுவதுபோல இருக்கும்.
2"Listen diligently to my speech. Let this be your consolation.
3நான் பேசப்போகிறேன், சகித்திருங்கள்; நான் பேசினபின்பு பரியாசம்பண்ணுங்கள்.
3Allow me, and I also will speak; After I have spoken, mock on.
4நான் மனுஷனைப்பார்த்தா அங்கலாய்க்கிறேன்? அப்படியானாலும் என் ஆவி விசனப்படாதிருக்குமா?
4As for me, is my complaint to man? Why shouldn't I be impatient?
5என்னைக் கவனித்துப்பாருங்கள், அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் பிரமித்து, உங்கள் வாயைக் கையால் பொத்திக்கொள்வீர்கள்.
5Look at me, and be astonished. Lay your hand on your mouth.
6இதை நான் நினைக்கையில் கலங்குகிறேன்; நடுக்கம் என் மாம்சத்தைப் பிடிக்கும்.
6When I remember, I am troubled. Horror takes hold of my flesh.
7துன்மார்க்கர் ஜீவித்து விருத்தராகி, வல்லவராவானேன்?
7"Why do the wicked live, Become old, yes, and grow mighty in power?
8அவர்களோடுங்கூட அவர்கள் சந்ததியார் அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாகவும், அவர்கள் பிள்ளைகள் அவர்கள் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாகவும் திடப்படுகிறார்கள்.
8Their child is established with them in their sight, Their offspring before their eyes.
9அவர்கள் வீடுகள் பயமில்லாமல் பத்திரப்பட்டிருக்கும்; தேவனுடைய மிலாறு அவர்கள்மேல் வருகிறதில்லை.
9Their houses are safe from fear, Neither is the rod of God upon them.
10அவர்களுடைய எருது பொலிந்தால், வீணாய்ப்போகாது; அவர்களுடைய பசு சினை அழியாமல் ஈனுகிறது.
10Their bulls breed without fail. Their cows calve, and don't miscarry.
11அவர்கள் தங்கள் குழந்தைகளை ஒரு மந்தையைப்போல வெளியே போகவிடுகிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் பிள்ளைகள் குதித்து விளையாடுகிறார்கள்.
11They send forth their little ones like a flock. Their children dance.
12அவர்கள் தம்புரையும் சுரமண்டலத்தையும் எடுத்துப் பாடி, கின்னரத்தின் ஓசைக்குச் சந்தோஷப்படுகிறார்கள்.
12They sing to the tambourine and harp, And rejoice at the sound of the pipe.
13அவர்கள் செல்வவான்களாய்த் தங்கள் நாட்களைப் போக்கி, ஒரு க்ஷணப்பொழுதிலே பாதாளத்தில் இறங்குகிறார்கள்.
13They spend their days in prosperity. In an instant they go down to Sheol.
14அவர்கள் தேவனை நோக்கி: எங்களைவிட்டு விலகியிரும், உம்முடைய வழிகளை அறிய விரும்போம்;
14They tell God, 'Depart from us, For we don't want to know about your ways.
15சர்வவல்லவரை நாம் சேவிக்க அவர் யார்? அவரை நோக்கி ஜெபம்பண்ணுவதினால் நமக்குப் பிரயோஜனம் என்ன என்கிறார்கள்.
15What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? What profit should we have, if we pray to him?'
16ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் வாழ்வு அவர்கள் கையிலிராது; துன்மார்க்கரின் ஆலோசனை எனக்குத் தூரமாயிருப்பதாக.
16Behold, their prosperity is not in their hand: The counsel of the wicked is far from me.
17எத்தனைச் சடுதியில் துன்மார்க்கரின் விளக்கு அணைந்துபோகும்; அவர் தமது கோபத்தினால் வேதனைகளைப் பகிர்ந்துகொடுக்கையில், அவர்கள் ஆபத்து அவர்கள்மேல் வரும்.
17"How often is it that the lamp of the wicked is put out? That their calamity comes on them? That God distributes sorrows in his anger?
18அவர்கள் காற்றுமுகத்திலிருக்கிற துரும்பைப்போலவும், பெருங்காற்று பறக்கடிக்கிற பதரைப்போலவும் இருக்கிறார்கள்.
18That they are as stubble before the wind, As chaff that the storm carries away?
19தேவன் அவனுடைய அக்கிரமத்தை அவன் பிள்ளைகளுக்கு வைத்து வைக்கிறார்; அவன் உணரத்தக்கவிதமாய் அதை அவனுக்குப் பலிக்கப்பண்ணுகிறார்.
19You say, 'God lays up his iniquity for his children.' Let him recompense it to himself, that he may know it.
20அவனுடைய அழிவை அவனுடைய கண்கள் காணும், சர்வவல்லவருடைய உக்கிரத்தைக் குடிப்பான்.
20Let his own eyes see his destruction. Let him drink of the wrath of the Almighty.
21அவன் மாதங்களின் தொகை குறுக்கப்படும்போது, அவனுக்குப் பிற்பாடு அவன் வீட்டைப்பற்றி அவனுக்கு இருக்கும் விருப்பமென்ன?
21For what does he care for his house after him, When the number of his months is cut off?
22உயர்ந்தோரை நியாயந்தீர்க்கிற தேவனுக்கு அறிவை உணர்த்த யாராலாகும்?
22"Shall any teach God knowledge, Seeing he judges those who are high?
23ஒருவன் நிர்வாகத்தோடும் சுகத்தோடும் வாழ்ந்து குறையற்ற பெலனுள்ளவனாய்ச் சாகிறான்.
23One dies in his full strength, Being wholly at ease and quiet.
24அவனுடைய பால்பாத்திரங்கள் பாலால் நிரம்பியிருக்கிறது, அவன் எலும்புகளில் ஊன் புஷ்டியாயிருக்கிறது.
24His pails are full of milk. The marrow of his bones is moistened.
25வேறொருவன் ஒரு நாளாவது சந்தோஷத்தோடே சாப்பிடாமல், மனக்கிலேசத்தோடே சாகிறான்.
25Another dies in bitterness of soul, And never tastes of good.
26இருவரும் சமமாய் மண்ணிலே படுத்துக்கொள்ளுகிறார்கள்; புழுக்கள் அவர்களை மூடும்.
26They lie down alike in the dust, The worm covers them.
27இதோ, நான் உங்கள் நினைவுகளையும், நீங்கள் என்னைப்பற்றி அநியாயமாய்க் கொண்டிருக்கும் ஆலோசனைகளையும் அறிவேன்.
27"Behold, I know your thoughts, The devices with which you would wrong me.
28பிரபுவினுடைய வீடு எங்கே? துன்மார்க்கருடைய கூடாரம் எங்கே? என்று சொல்லுகிறீர்கள்?
28For you say, 'Where is the house of the prince? Where is the tent in which the wicked lived?'
29வழிநடந்துபோகிறவர்களை நீங்கள் கேட்கவில்லையா, அவர்கள் சொல்லும் குறிப்புகளை நீங்கள் அறியவில்லையா?
29Haven't you asked wayfaring men? Don't you know their evidences,
30துன்மார்க்கன் ஆபத்து நாளுக்கென்று வைக்கப்படுகிறான்; அவன் கோபாக்கினையின் நாளுக்கென்று கொண்டுவரப்படுகிறான்.
30That the evil man is reserved to the day of calamity? That they are led forth to the day of wrath?
31அவன் வழியை அவன் முகத்துக்கு முன்பாகத் தூண்டிக் காண்பிக்கிறவன் யார்? அவன் செய்கைக்குத் தக்க பலனை அவனுக்குச் சரிக்கட்டுகிறவன் யார்?
31Who shall declare his way to his face? Who shall repay him what he has done?
32அவன் கல்லறைக்குக் கொண்டுவரப்படுகிறான்; அவன் கோரி காக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும்.
32Yet shall he be borne to the grave, Men shall keep watch over the tomb.
33பள்ளத்தாக்கின் புல்பத்தைகள் அவனுக்கு இன்பமாயிருக்கும்; அவனுக்கு முன்னாக எண்ணிறந்த ஜனங்கள் போனதுபோல, அவனுக்குப் பின்னாக ஒவ்வொருவரும் அவ்விடத்துக்குச் செல்லுவார்கள்.
33The clods of the valley shall be sweet to him. All men shall draw after him, As there were innumerable before him.
34நீங்கள் வீணான ஆறுதலை எனக்குச் செல்லுகிறது என்ன? உங்கள் மறுமொழிகளில் உண்மைக்கேடு இருக்கிறது என்றான்.
34So how can you comfort me with nonsense, Seeing that in your answers there remains only falsehood?"
