அதற்கு யாபேசின் மூப்பர்கள்: நாங்கள் இஸ்ரவேல் நாடெங்கும் ஸ்தானாபதிகளை அனுப்பும்படி, ஏழு நாள் எங்களுக்குத் தவணைகொடும், எங்களை இரட்சிப்பார் இல்லாவிட்டால், அப்பொழுது உம்மிடத்தில் வருவோம் என்றார்கள்.

The elders of Jabesh said to him, Give us seven days' respite, that we may send messengers to all the borders of Israel; and then, if there be none to save us, we will come out to you.
