1
ଏହା ହେଉଛି ରାଜା ଲମୁଯଲଙ୍କେର ଉପଦେଶ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ବାକ୍ଯ। ଯାହାକି ସେ ତାଙ୍କର ମାତାଙ୍କଠାରୁ ସେ ଶିକ୍ଷା ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିଥିଲେ।

The words of king Lemuel; the oracle which his mother taught him.

ତୁମ୍ଭେ ହେଉଛ ମାରେ ପୁତ୍ର, ମୁଁ ଯାହାକୁ ଭଲପାଏ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ହେଉଛ ସହେି ପୁତ୍ର ଯାହାକୁ ପାଇବା ପାଇଁ ମୁଁ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରିଥିଲି।

"Oh, my son!" Oh, son of my womb! Oh, son of my vows!
3
ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଆପଣାର ବଳ ଦିଅ ନାହିଁ। ସମାନେେ ରାଜାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଧ୍ବଂସ କଲେ।

Don't give your strength to women, Nor your ways to that which destroys kings.
4
ହେ ଲମୁଯଲେ, ରାଜାମାନଙ୍କର ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାରସ ପାନ କରିବା ଉଚିତ୍ ନୁହେଁ। ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାରସ ପାନ କରିବା ଶାସକମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଏହା ଉଚିତ୍ ନୁହେଁ।

It is not for kings, Lemuel; It is not for kings to drink wine; Nor for princes to say, 'Where is strong drink?'

ଯଦି ସମାନେେ ପାନ କରନ୍ତି, ସମାନେେ ସବୁ ନିଯମ ଭୁଲି ୟାଆନ୍ତି ଏବଂ ଗରୀବ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ବିପକ୍ଷ ରେ ନ୍ଯାଯ କରନ୍ତି।

Lest they drink, and forget the law, And pervert the justice due to anyone who is afflicted.

ମୃତକଳ୍ପ ଲୋକକୁ ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାରସ ଦିଅ ଓ ତିକ୍ତମନା ଲୋକକୁ ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାରସ ଦିଅ।

Give strong drink to him who is ready to perish; And wine to the bitter in soul:

ସେ ଲୋକ ପାନକରି ଆପଣା ଦରିଦ୍ରତା ପାଶୋରନ୍ତୁ ଏବଂ ଆପଣା କ୍ଲେଶ ଭୁଲି ୟାଆନ୍ତୁ।

Let him drink, and forget his poverty, And remember his misery no more.
8
ତୁମ୍ଭର ପାଟି ଫିଟାଅ ଓ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପାଇଁ କୁହ, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପାଇଁ କହିପାରିବେ ନାହିଁ, କଷ୍ଟ ରେ ଥିବା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ଅଧିକାର ପାଇଁ କୁହ।

Open your mouth for the mute, In the cause of all who are left desolate.
9
ମୁଖ ଫିଟାଇ ଯଥାର୍ଥ ବିଚାର କର। ଦୁଃଖୀ ଓ ଦରିଦ୍ରମାନଙ୍କର ସୁବିଚାର କର।

Open your mouth, judge righteously, And serve justice to the poor and needy."
10
ଏହା ଅତ୍ଯନ୍ତ କଷ୍ଟ ଏକ ଗୁଣବତୀ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ପାଇବା ତା'ର ମୂଲ୍ଯ ମୁକ୍ତାଠାରୁ ଅଧିକ ମୂଲ୍ଯବାନ ଅଟେ।

Who can find a worthy woman? For her price is far above rubies.

ତା'ର ସ୍ବାମୀର ହୃଦଯ ତାଠା ରେ ନିର୍ଭର କରେ। ସେ କଦାପି ଦରିଦ୍ର ହବେ ନାହିଁ।

The heart of her husband trusts in her. He shall have no lack of gain.
12
ସେ ଜୀବନସାରା ସ୍ବାମୀର ମଙ୍ଗଳ କରେ। ସେ ତାଙ୍କୁ କବେେ ଅସୁବିଧା ରେ ପକାଏ ନାହିଁ।

She does him good, and not harm, All the days of her life.
13
ସେ ମଷେଲୋମ ମସିନା ଖାଜେି ସନ୍ତାଷେ ରେ ଆପଣା ହସ୍ତ ରେ କର୍ମ କରେ।
13
She seeks wool and flax, And works eagerly with her hands.
14
ସେ ବାଣିଜ୍ଯ ଜାହାଜ ପରି, ଦୂରରୁ ଆପଣା ଆହାର ଆଣେ।

She is like the merchant ships. She brings her bread from afar.
15
ସେ ରାତ୍ର ଥାଉଥାଉ ଉେଠ, ଆପଣା ପରିଜନକଙ୍କୁ ଖାଦ୍ୟ ଓ ଦାସୀଗଣଙ୍କୁ ନିରୂପିତ କର୍ମ ଦିଏ।

She rises also while it is yet night, Gives food to her household, And portions for her servant girls.
16
ସେ କ୍ଷେତ୍ରର ବିଷଯ ବୁଝି ତାହା କିଣେ। ସେ ଆପଣା ହସ୍ତର ଫଳ ଦଇେ ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାକ୍ଷେତ୍ର ରୋପଣ କରେ।

She considers a field, and buys it. With the fruit of her hands, she plants a vineyard.
17
ସେ ଜଣେ ବଳବାନ୍ କାର୍ୟ୍ଯକାରୀ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ସେ ସବୁ ସମୟ କଠିନ ପରିଶ୍ରମ କରେ।

She girds her loins with strength, And makes her arms strong.
18
ଆପଣା ବ୍ଯାପାର ଯେ ଲାଭଜନକ, ଏହା ସେ ବୁଝେ। ପୁଣି ରାତ୍ରି କାଳ ରେ ତାହାର ପ୍ରଦୀପ ଲିଭିୟାଏ ନାହିଁ।

She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp doesn't go out by night.
19
ସେ ନୋଟିକି ହାତ ବଢ଼ାଏ, ପୁଣି ତା'ର ହସ୍ତ ତାହା ପାଇଁ ବସ୍ତ୍ର ବୁଣେ।

She lays her hands to the distaff, And her hands hold the spindle.
20
ସେ ଦୁଃଖୀ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ମୁକ୍ତହସ୍ତା ହୁଏ ଓ ଦରିଦ୍ରମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଦୟା ଦଖାେଏ।

She opens her arms to the poor; Yes, she extends her hands to the needy.
21
ସେ କବେେ ହେଲେ ନିଜର ପରିବାର ବିଷଯ ରେ ଶୀତ ଋତୁ ରେ ଦୁଃଖିନୀ ହୁଏ ନାହିଁ। ଯେତବେେଳେ ବରଫପାତ ହୁଏ କାରଣ ତାହାର ସମସ୍ତ ପରିବାର ଗରମ ବସ୍ତ୍ର ପିନ୍ଧନ୍ତି।
21
She is not afraid of the snow for her household; For all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22
ସେ ଆପଣା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଚିତ୍ରବିଚିତ୍ର ଆଚ୍ଛାଦନ ବସ୍ତ୍ର ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରେ। ସେ ଶୁଭ୍ର କ୍ଷୌମବସ୍ତ୍ର ପିନ୍ଧେ।

She makes for herself carpets of tapestry. Her clothing is fine linen and purple.

ଲୋକମାନେ ତା'ର ସ୍ବାମୀକୁ ସମ୍ମାନ କରନ୍ତି। ସେ ଦେଶର ଜଣେ ମୁଖିଆ ଅଟେ।

Her husband is respected in the gates, When he sits among the elders of the land.
24
ସେ ଜଣେ ଉତ୍ତମ ବ୍ଯବସାଯୀ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଅଟେ। ସେ ଲୁଗା ଓ ବେଲ୍ଟ୍ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରେ ଓ ତାକୁ ବ୍ଯବସାଯୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିକେ।

She makes linen garments and sells them, And delivers sashes to the merchant.
25
ସେ ପ୍ରଶଂସା ରେ ଯୋଗ୍ଯା, ଲୋକମାନେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ସମ୍ମାନ କରନ୍ତି। ସେ ନୀର୍ଭିକ ଭାବେ ତା'ର ଭବିଷ୍ଯତ୍ ଦେଖିପା ରେ।

Strength and dignity are her clothing. She laughs at the time to come.
26
ସେ ଜ୍ଞାନପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କଥା କ ହେ। ସେ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦୟା ଓ କରୁଣା ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦିଏ।

She opens her mouth with wisdom. Faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27
ସେ କବେେ ଅଳସୁଆ ହୁଏ ନାହିଁ। ସେ ତା'ର ଗୃହର ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ଦ୍ରବ୍ଯର ଯତ୍ନ ନିଏ।

She looks well to the ways of her household, And doesn't eat the bread of idleness.
28
ତା'ର ସନ୍ତାନମାନେ ତାକୁ ଧନ୍ଯ ବୋଲି କହନ୍ତି। ତା'ର ସ୍ବାମୀ ତା'ର ପ୍ରଶଂସା କରେ।

Her children rise up and call her blessed. Her husband also praises her:
29
ବହୁତ ଭଲ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଲୋକ ଅଛନ୍ତି। କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସବୁଠାରୁ ଉତ୍ତମ।

"Many women do noble things, But you excel them all."
30
ଲାବଣ୍ଯ ପ୍ରବଞ୍ଚନା ଜନକ ଓ ସୌନ୍ଦର୍ୟ୍ଯ ଅସାର, ମାତ୍ର ଯେଉଁ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ଭୟ କରେ, ସେ ପ୍ରଶଂସିତା ହବେ।
30
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; But a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised.
31
ସେ ପାଇବାର ଉପୟୁକ୍ତ ପୁରସ୍କାର ତାକୁ ଦିଅ। ତାକୁ ତା' ନିଜର କର୍ମ କରିବାକୁ ଛାଡ଼ିଦିଅ। ସେ ଯାହା କରିୟାଇଛି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ନଗର ଦ୍ବାର ରେ ତାହାର ପ୍ରଶଂସା ଆଣିଦିଏ।

Give her of the fruit of her hands! Let her works praise her in the gates!
