ତା'ପରେ ଲୋକମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କଠା ରେ ଅଭିଯୋଗ କରିବାକୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ କଲେ। ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତାହା ଶୁଣିବାରୁ ତାଙ୍କର କୋରଧ ପ୍ରଜ୍ବଳିତ ହେଲା। ତହିଁରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଅଗ୍ନି ସମାନଙ୍କେ ମଧିଅରେ ପ୍ରଜ୍ବଳିତ ହାଇେ ଛାଉଣୀର ପ୍ରାନ୍ତଭାଗ ଗ୍ରାସ କଲା।

The people were as murmurers, speaking evil in the ears of Yahweh: and when Yahweh heard it, his anger was kindled; and the fire of Yahweh burnt among them, and devoured in the uttermost part of the camp.

ତେଣୁ ଲୋକମାନେ ମାଶାଙ୍କେ ନିକଟରେ ସାହାର୍ୟ୍ଯ ପାଇଁ କ୍ରନ୍ଦନ କଲେ। ତହୁଁ ମାଶାେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରନ୍ତେ ସହେି ଅଗ୍ନି ଥମିଗଲା।

The people cried to Moses; and Moses prayed to Yahweh, and the fire abated.
3
ତେଣୁ ସହେି ସ୍ଥାନର ନାମ ତବିଯରୋ ହେଲା କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଅଗ୍ନି ସମାନଙ୍କେ ମଧିଅରେ ଦହନ କଲା।

The name of that place was called Taberah, because the fire of Yahweh burnt among them.

ତା'ପରେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ଅସୁବିଧା ସୃଷ୍ଟିକାରୀଗଣଙ୍କର ଉତ୍ତମ ଖାଦ୍ୟ ଖାଇବାକୁ ପ୍ରବଳଇଚ୍ଛା ହେଲା। ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ଲୋକମାନେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ସହିତ ୟୋଗ ଦେଲେ ଏବଂ ପାଟି କଲେ, କିଏ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ମାଂସ ଖାଇବାକୁ ଦବେ?

The mixed multitude that was among them lusted exceedingly: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?

ଆମ୍ଭେ ମାନେ ମିଶର ଦେଶ ରେ ବିନା ମୂଲ୍ଯ ରେ ଯେଉଁ ମାଛ ଖାଉଥିଲୁ, ତାହା ମନେ ପଡେ। ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ମଧ୍ଯ ଉତ୍ତମ ପନିପରିବା ଯଥା: କାକୁଡି, ତରଭୁଜ, ପିଆଜ ଓ ରସୁଣ କଥା ମନେ ପଡେ।

We remember the fish, which we ate in Egypt for nothing; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic:

ମାତ୍ର ଏବେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଦୁର୍ବଳ ହାଇେ ଯାଉଅଛୁ, ଏଠି ଖାଇବାକୁ କିଛି ନାହିଁ, ଏହି ମାନ୍ନା ଛଡା ଆଉ ଦେଖିବାକୁ କିଛି ନାହିଁ,।

but now our soul is dried away; there is nothing at all save this manna to look on.
7
ଆଉ ସହେି ମାନ୍ନା ଧନିଆ ବୀଜଗୁଡିକ ସଦୃଶ ହବେ।

The manna was like coriander seed, and the appearance of it as the appearance of bdellium.
8
ଲୋକମାନେ ଏଣେ ତଣେେ ବୁଲି ମାନ୍ନା ସଂଗ୍ରହ କଲେ, ଚକି ରେ ତାକୁ ପଷେିଲେ, କିମ୍ବା କୁଟଣୀ ରେ ତାହା ଚୂର୍ଣ କରି କରଇେ ରେ ସିଦ୍ଧକରି ପିଠା ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କଲେ, ଆଉ ଜୀତ ତୈଳ ରେ ପକ୍ବ ପିଠାପରି ତା'ର ସ୍ବାଦ ହେଲା।

The people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in mortars, and boiled it in pots, and made cakes of it: and the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil.
9
ରାତ୍ରି ରେ ଛାଉଣୀ ଉପରେ କାକର ପଡିଲା ବେଳେ ତା ସହିତ ମାନ୍ନା ଝଡିଲା।

When the dew fell on the camp in the night, the manna fell on it.
10
ଏହାପରେ ଲୋକମାନେ ସମୁଦାଯ ପରିବାର ସହିତ ନିଜନିଜ ତମ୍ବୁଦ୍ବାରା ନିକଟରେ ରୋଦନ କରିବାର ମାଶାେ ଶୁଣିଲେ; ତହିଁରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର କୋରଧ ଅତିଶଯ ପ୍ରଜ୍ବଳିତ ହେଲା। ଆଉ ମଧ୍ଯ ମାଶାେ ଅସନ୍ତୁଷ୍ଟ ହେଲେ।

Moses heard the people weeping throughout their families, every man at the door of his tent: and the anger of Yahweh was kindled greatly; and Moses was displeased.
11
ତହୁଁ ମାଶାେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ କାହିଁକି ଆପଣା ଦାସ ପ୍ରତି ଅସୁବିଧା କରୁଛ? ତୁମ୍ଭେ କାହିଁକି ମାେ ଉପରେ କୋର୍ଧ ଦଖାେଉଛ? କାହିଁକି ଆପଣା ମାେ ଉପରେ ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ଭାର ଦେଉଅଛ?

Moses said to Yahweh, Why have you dealt ill with your servant? and why haven't I found favor in your sight, that you lay the burden of all this people on me?
12
କ'ଣ ସମାନେେ ସମସ୍ତେ ମାଠାରୁେ ଜନ୍ମ ହାଇେଛନ୍ତି? ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଯେଉଁ ଦେଶ ବିଷଯ ରେ ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା କରିଥିଲ ମୁଁ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଶିଶୁ ପରି କ'ଣ ବୋହି ନବେି?

Have I conceived all this people? have I brought them forth, that you should tell me, Carry them in your bosom, as a nursing-father carries the sucking child, to the land which you swore to their fathers?
13
ମୁଁ ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ମାଂସ ଦବୋ ପାଇଁ କେଉଁଠା ରେ ପାଇବି? କାରଣ ସମାନେେ ମାେ ନିକଟରେ କାନ୍ଦି କହୁଛନ୍ତି, ସମାନେେ ପାଟି କରନ୍ତି, 'ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ମାଂସ ଦିଅ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ମାଂସ ଦିଅ।'
13
Whence should I have flesh to give to all this people? for they weep to me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.
14
ମୁଁ ଏକାକୀ ଏତେ ଲୋକଙ୍କର ଭାର ବହନ କରିପାରିବି ନାହିଁ, କାରଣ ଏହା ମାେ ପାଇଁ ଅସହ୍ଯ ଅଟେ।

I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.
15
ଆଉ ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମାେ ପ୍ରତି ଏପରି ପଥରେ ବ୍ଯବହାର କରିବାକୁ ଯାଉଅଛ, ତବେେ ବିନଯ କରୁଅଛି, ମୁଁ ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭ ଅନୁଗ୍ରହର ପାତ୍ର, ତବେେ ମାେତେ ମାରିଦିଅ ପେଛ, ଏପରି ଦୁର୍ଗତି ଦେଖିବାକୁ ଦିଅ ନାହିଁ।

If you deal thus with me, please kill me out of hand, if I have found favor in your sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.
16
ଅନନ୍ତର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମାଶାଙ୍କେୁ କହିଲେ, ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ଏପରି ସତୁରି ଜଣ ପ୍ରାଚୀନ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଡାକ। ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ସମାଗମ ତମ୍ବୁ ନିକଟକୁ ଆଣ। ସମାନେେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସହିତ ଛିଡା ହବୋ ଉଚିତ୍।

Yahweh said to Moses, Gather to me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them to the tent of meeting, that they may stand there with you.
17
ମୁଁ ସହେି ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଓହ୍ଲାଇ ଆସି ତୁମ୍ଭ ସଙ୍ଗେ କଥା କହିବି ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭଠା ରେ ଯେଉଁ ଆତ୍ମା ଅଛି ତହିଁରୁ ନଇେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଦବୋ, ତହିଁରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯେପରି ଏକାକୀ ଭାର ବହନ କରିବନାହିଁ, ସେଥିପାଇଁ ସମାନେେ ମଧ୍ଯ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସହିତ ଦାଯିତ୍ବ ଭାର ବହନ କରିବେ।
17
I will come down and talk with you there: and I will take of the Spirit which is on you, and will put it on them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, that you not bear it yourself alone.
18
ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ କୁହ, କାଲିପାଇଁ ନିଜକୁ ପବିତ୍ର କର। ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ମାଂସ ଖାଇବ, କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ କର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଗୋଚର ରେ କହିଅଛ, 'କିଏ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ମାଂସ ଖାଇବାକୁ ଦବେ? ବରଂ ମିଶର ଦେଶ ରେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ମଙ୍ଗଳ ଥିଲା!' ଏଣୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ମାଂସ ଖାଇବାକୁ ଦବେେ।

Say you to the people, Sanctify yourselves against tomorrow, and you shall eat flesh; for you have wept in the ears of Yahweh, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore Yahweh will give you flesh, and you shall eat.
19
ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଦିନେ କି ଦୁଇଦିନ କି ପାଞ୍ଚଦିନ କି ଦଶଦିନ କି କୋଡିଏ ଦିନ ଖାଇବ ତାହା ନୁହେଁ।
19
You shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days,
20
ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଏକମାସ ମାଂସ ଭକ୍ଷଣ କରିବ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମାଂସକୁ ଭକ୍ଷଣ କରିବ, ଘୃଣା ଯୋଗ୍ଯ ନ ହବୋ ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ। ଆଉ ଯେ ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନାସିକାରୁ ନିର୍ଗତ ନହୁଏ। କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରତ୍ଯାଖ୍ଯାନ କରିଛ, ୟିଏ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସହିତ ଅଛନ୍ତି ଏବଂ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ତାଙ୍କଠା ରେ ଆପତ୍ତି କରିବ ଏହା କହି, 'ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ କାହିଁକି ମିଶରରୁ ବାହାରି ଆସିଲୁ?'

but a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome to you; because that you have rejected Yahweh who is among you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?
21
ତବେେ ମାଶାେ କହିଲେ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ, ମୁଁ ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ମଧିଅରେ ଅଛି ସମାନେେ ଛଅ ଲକ୍ଷ ପଦାତିକ। ତଥାପି ତୁମ୍ଭେ କହୁଅଛ, 'ଆମ୍ଭେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ମାଂସ ଦବୋ, ସମାନେେ ତାହା ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ ଏକ ମାସ ଖାଇବେ!'
21
Moses said, The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand footmen; and you have said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month.
22
ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଯୋଗଇବାପାଇଁ ପଲ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ସମସ୍ତ ଗୋମଷେ ବଧ କଲେ ମଧ୍ଯ ଏକମାସ ପାଇଁ ଅଣ୍ଟିବ ନାହିଁ। ଆଉ ସମୁଦ୍ରର ସମସ୍ତ ମାଛ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ୟଥେଷ୍ଟ ନୁହେଁ!
22
Shall flocks and herds be slain for them, to suffice them? or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice them?
23
ତହୁଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମାଶାଙ୍କେୁ କହିଲେ, କ'ଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଶକ୍ତି ସିମୀତ? ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ଦେଖିବ, ଯଦି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ଯ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରତି ସତ ହବେ।

Yahweh said to Moses, Has Yahweh's hand grown short? now shall you see whether my word shall happen to you or not.
24
ତବେେ ମାଶାେ ବାହାରକୁ ୟାଇ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଯାହା ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହିଥିଲେ। ପୁଣି ସେ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରାଚୀନବର୍ଗ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ସତୁରି ଜଣଙ୍କୁ ଏକତ୍ର କରି ତମ୍ବୁର ଚତୁର୍ଦ୍ଦିଗ ରେ ଛିଡା କରାଇଲେ।

Moses went out, and told the people the words of Yahweh: and he gathered seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the Tent.
25
ତା'ପରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମେଘରୁ ଓହ୍ଲାଇ ମାଶାଙ୍କେୁ କହିଲେ, ଆଉ ଯେଉଁ ଆତ୍ମା ତାଙ୍କଠା ରେ ଥିଲା, ତହିଁରୁ ନଇେ ସତୁରି ପ୍ରାଚୀନବର୍ଗଙ୍କୁ ଦେଲେ। ଯେତବେେଳେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ଉପରେ ଆତ୍ମା ଅବସ୍ଥାନ କଲା, ସମାନେେ ଭବିଷ୍ଯତ କଥା ପ୍ରଚାର ଆରମ୍ଭ କଲେ, ଏବଂ ସମାନେେ ଆଉ ବନ୍ଦ କଲେ ନାହିଁ।

Yahweh came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was on him, and put it on the seventy elders: and it happened that when the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied, but they did so no more.
26
ମାତ୍ର ଛାଉଣୀ ମଧିଅରେ ଦୁଇଜଣ ପ୍ରାଚୀନ ଇଲଦଦ୍ ଓ ମଦେଦ୍ ରହିଲେ, ଯଦିଓ ସମାନେେ ତାଲିକା ରେ ଥିଲେ, ସମାନେେ ତମ୍ବୁ ବାହାରକୁ ଆସି ନ ଥିଲେ। ସମାନଙ୍କେ ଉପରେ ସହେି ଆତ୍ମା ଅବସ୍ଥାନ କଲା ଓ ସମାନେେ ଛାଉଣୀ ମଧିଅରେ ରହି ଭବିଷ୍ଯତ କଥା ପ୍ରଚାର ଆରମ୍ଭ କଲେ।

But there remained two men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the Spirit rested on them; and they were of those who were written, but had not gone out to the Tent; and they prophesied in the camp.
27
ତହୁଁ ଜଣେ ୟୁବକ ଦୌଡି ୟାଇ ମାଶାଙ୍କେୁ କହିଲା, ଇଲଦଦ୍ ଓ ମଦେଦ୍ ଛାଉଣୀ ଭିତ ରେ ରହି ଭବିଷ୍ଯତ କଥା ପ୍ରଚାର କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି।

There ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp.
28
ତହିଁରେ ନୂନର ପୁତ୍ର ଯିହାଶୂେୟ ମାଶାଙ୍କେୁ କହିଲେ, ହେ ମାହେର ମୁନିବ ମାଶାେ, ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ସ୍ଥଗିତ କରନ୍ତୁ। ୟିହୋଶୂଯ ୟୁବକ ସମୟରୁ ମାଶାଙ୍କେର ଜଣେ ମନୋନୀତ ସହକାରୀ ଥିଲେ।

Joshua the son of Nun, the minister of Moses, one of his chosen men, answered, My lord Moses, forbid them.
29
ମାଶାେ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମାେ ସକାଶୁ କ'ଣ ଈର୍ଷା କରୁଅଛୁ? ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଭବିଷ୍ଯଦ୍ବାଣୀ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ଉପରେ ଆପଣା ଆତ୍ମା ଦିଅନ୍ତୁ।

Moses said to him, Are you jealous for my sake? would that all Yahweh's people were prophets, that Yahweh would put his Spirit on them!
30
ଏହାପରେ ମାଶାେ ଓ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ପ୍ରାଚୀନଗଣ ଛାଉଣୀକି ଗମନ କଲେ।

Moses got him into the camp, he and the elders of Israel.
31
ଅନନ୍ତର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନିକଟରୁ ବାଯୁ ବହିଲା ଓ ତାହା ସମୁଦ୍ରରୁ ଭଟୋଇ ପକ୍ଷୀ ଆଣିଲା। ସମାନଙ୍କେର ସଂଖ୍ଯା ଏତେ ଅଧିକ ହେଲା ଯେ ସମାନେେ ଛାଉଣୀର ଚତୁର୍ବ୍ଦିଗ ରେ ଏପାଖେ ଦିନକର ପଥ ଓ ସେ ପାଖେ ଦିନକର ପଥ ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ବ୍ଯାପି ରହିଲେ। ସମାନେେ ଭୂମିଠାରୁ ପ୍ରାଯ ଦୁଇ ପୁଟ ବହଳ ରେ ଗଦା ହଇେ ଗଲେ।

There went forth a wind from Yahweh, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, about a day's journey on this side, and a day's journey on the other side, round about the camp, and about two cubits above the surface of the earth.
32
ତହିଁରେ ଲୋକମାନେ ଛିଡା ହାଇେ ସହେି ସମସ୍ତ ଦିବାରାତ୍ର ଓ ପରଦିନ ସମସ୍ତ ଦିବସ ସହେି ଭାଟୋଇ ପକ୍ଷୀ ସଂଗ୍ରହ କଲେ। କହେି ଦଶ ବୁଶଲରେୁ ଊଣା ସଂଗ୍ରହ କଲାନାହିଁ। ଆଉ ସମାନେେ ନିଜପାଇଁ ଛାଉଣୀର ଚାରିଆଡେ ତାହା ବିଛାଇ ରଖିଲେ।

The people rose up all that day, and all the night, and all the next day, and gathered the quails: he who gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp.
33
ସମାନଙ୍କେ ଦନ୍ତ ମଧିଅରେ ମାଂସ ଥିଲା ବେଳେ ତାହା ଚର୍ବଣ କରିବା ପୂର୍ବରୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ କୋର୍ଧ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ଉପରେ ପ୍ରଜ୍ବଳିତ ହେଲା। ତହୁଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ମହାମାରୀ ରେ ସଂହାର କଲେ ଓ ସହେି ସ୍ଥାନ ରେ ସମାନେେ କବର ନେଲେ।

While the flesh was yet between their teeth, before it was chewed, the anger of Yahweh was kindled against the people, and Yahweh struck the people with a very great plague.
34
ତେଣୁ ସହେି ସ୍ଥାନର ନାମ କିବ୍ରୋତ୍-ହତ୍ତାବା ହେଲା। କାରଣ ସମାନେେ ଖାଦ୍ୟ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଲୋଭୀ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ସହେି ସ୍ଥାନ ରେ କବର ଦେଲେ।

The name of that place was called Kibrothhattaavah, because there they buried the people who lusted.
35
