1ଅନକେ ଲୋକେ ୟିହୁଦୀଯ ଭାଇମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ ଅଭିଯୋଗ କଲେ।
1Then there arose a great cry of the people and of their wives against their brothers the Jews.
2ସମାନଙ୍କେ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ କେତକେ କହିଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଅନକେ ପୁତ୍ର ଓ କନ୍ଯା ଅଛନ୍ତି, ଆସ ବଞ୍ଚିବା ପାଇଁ ଶସ୍ଯ କିଣିବା।
2For there were that said, We, our sons and our daughters, are many: let us get grain, that we may eat and live.
3ଅନ୍ୟ ଲୋକେ କହିଲେ, ଏହା ଦୁର୍ଭିକ୍ଷ ସମୟ, ଆମ୍ଭଙ୍କୁ ଖାଦ୍ୟ ଦିଅ ଏବଂ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଜମି, ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାକ୍ଷେତ୍ର, ଗୃହ ଇତ୍ଯାଦି ବନ୍ଧକଭାବେ ଏକାଥରେ ନଇୟୋଅ।
3Some also there were that said, We are mortgaging our fields, and our vineyards, and our houses: let us get grain, because of the dearth.
4ଆହୁରି ଅନ୍ୟ ଲୋକମାନେେ କହିଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ରାଜକର ପାଇଁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଶସ୍ଯକ୍ଷେତ୍ର ଓ ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାକ୍ଷେତ୍ର ବନ୍ଧକ ରଖି ମୁଦ୍ରାଋଣ କରିଛୁ।
4There were also that said, We have borrowed money for the king's tribute on our fields and our vineyards.
5ଧନୀଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖ! ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଠିକ୍ ତାଙ୍କରି ପରି ଅଟୁ। ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ରମାନେ ଠିକ୍ ତାଙ୍କରି ପୁତ୍ରମାନଙ୍କପରି ଅଟନ୍ତି। କିନ୍ତୁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଆପଣା ପୁତ୍ର ଓ କନ୍ଯାଗଣଙ୍କୁ ଦାସ ହବୋପାଇଁ ବିକ୍ରି କରିବୁ। ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ଅନକେ ତାଙ୍କର କନ୍ଯାଗଣଙ୍କୁ ଦାସୀ ଭାବରେ ବିକ୍ରଯ କରିସାରିଲଣେି। ଏପରି ଆଉ କିଛି ନାହିଁ ଯାହା ଆମ୍ଭେ ନ କରି ପାରିବା। ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଆମ୍ଭ କ୍ଷେତ୍ର, ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାକ୍ଷେତ୍ର ହରାଇ ସାରିଲୁଣି, ଯାହାକି ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ଅନ୍ୟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଅଧିକାର ରେ ଅଛି।
5Yet now our flesh is as the flesh of our brothers, our children as their children: and, behold, we bring into bondage our sons and our daughters to be servants, and some of our daughters are brought into bondage already: neither is it in our power to help it; for other men have our fields and our vineyards.
6ଯେତବେେଳେ ମୁଁ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ଏହି ଅଭିଯୋଗ ସବୁ ଶୁଣିଲି, ମୁଁ ଅତ୍ଯନ୍ତ କୃଦ୍ଧ ହଲିେ।
6I was very angry when I heard their cry and these words.
7ମୁଁ ଏ ବିଷଯ ରେ ଚିନ୍ତା କଲି, ତା'ପରେ ମୁଁ କୁଳିନମାନଙ୍କ ଓ ଅଧିକାରୀମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ ଏକ ନ୍ଯାଯିକ ବାଦାନୁବାଦ କଲି। ମୁଁ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ କହିଲି, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଭାଇମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ସୁଧ ନେଉଛ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ସଇଟୋ ବନ୍ଦକରିବା ଉଚିତ୍। ଏହାପରେ ମୁଁ ଏକ ମହାସଭା ଡାକିବି।
7Then I consulted with myself, and contended with the nobles and the rulers, and said to them, You exact usury, everyone of his brother. I held a great assembly against them.
8ଏବଂ ମୁଁ ସହେି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲି, 'ଆମ୍ଭର ୟିହୁଦୀଯ ଭାଇମାନେ ଅନ୍ୟ ଦେଶୀଯ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ବିକା ୟାଇଥିଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଆପଣା ସାଧ୍ଯ ଅନୁସାରେ ମୁକ୍ତ କରିଅଛୁ। ଏବେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଭାଇମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିକ୍ରୀ କରୁଛ ଏବଂ ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ପୁଣି କିଣିବୁ।
8I said to them, We after our ability have redeemed our brothers the Jews, that were sold to the nations; and would you even sell your brothers, and should they be sold to us? Then held they their peace, and found never a word.
9ମୁଁ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଆହୁରି ମଧ୍ଯ କହିଲି, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ କିଛି ଭଲ କରୁ ନାହଁ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏହା ଜାଣ ତୁମ୍ଭର ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କୁ ଭୟ ଓ ସମ୍ମାନ କରିବା ଉଚିତ୍। ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଶତୃଗଣ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ପରିହାସ କରିବାର ସୁଯୋଗ ଦବୋ ଉଚିତ୍ ନୁହେଁ।
9Also I said, The thing that you do is not good: ought you not to walk in the fear of our God, because of the reproach of the nations our enemies?
10ମୁଁ, ମାରେ ଆତ୍ମୀଯଗଣ ଏବଂ ମାରେ ଦାସମାନେ ଅନ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଟଙ୍କା ଏବଂ ଶସ୍ଯର ଉଧାର ଦେଉଅଛୁ। କିନ୍ତୁ ଆସ ସମାନଙ୍କେଠାରୁ ସୁଧ ଆଦାଯ କରିବା ନାହିଁ।
10I likewise, my brothers and my servants, do lend them money and grain. Please let us leave off this usury.
11ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଆଜି ନିଶ୍ଚିତ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ଜମି, ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାକ୍ଷେତ୍ର, ଜିତକ୍ଷେତ୍ର ଏବଂ ଗୃହ ଫରୋଇ ଦବେ। ଏହାକୁ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ଫରୋଇ ଦିଅ ଏବଂ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ମୁଦ୍ରା, ଶସ୍ଯ, ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାରସ ଏବଂ ଜୀତତୈଳ ଯାହା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ସମାନଙ୍କେଠାରୁ ସୁଧ ହିସାବ ରେ ନଇେଥିଲେ।
11Please restore to them, even this day, their fields, their vineyards, their olive groves, and their houses, also the hundredth part of the money, and of the grain, the new wine, and the oil, that you exact of them.
12ଏହାପରେ ଧନୀଲୋକମାନେ ଓ ଅଧ୍ଯକ୍ଷମାନେ ତାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଏସବୁ ଫରୋଇ ଦବେୁ, ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ କିଛି ମାଗିବୁ ନାହିଁ। ଆପଣ ଯେପରି କହୁଛନ୍ତି ଆମ୍ଭେ ସହେିପରି କରିବୁ।
12Then said they, We will restore them, and will require nothing of them; so will we do, even as you say. Then I called the priests, and took an oath of them, that they would do according to this promise.
13ମୁଁ ମାରେବସ୍ତ୍ରର ଭାଂଗକୁ ଝାଡିଲି ଏବଂ କହିଲି, ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ଏହି ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା ପାଳନ କରିବ ନାହିଁ, ପରମେଶ୍ବର ତାର ଗୃହ ଓ ପରିଶ୍ରମର ଫଳରୁ ତାହାକୁ ଏପରି ଝାଡି ଦିଅନ୍ତୁ। ସେ ଏହିପରି କମ୍ପିତ ହେଉ ଓ ଶୂନ୍ଯ ହେଉ।
13Also I shook out my lap, and said, So God shake out every man from his house, and from his labor, that doesn't perform this promise; even thus be he shaken out, and emptied. All the assembly said, Amen, and praised Yahweh. The people did according to this promise.
14ମୁଁ ଯିହୁଦା ଦେଶ ରେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ଅଧ୍ଯକ୍ଷ ପଦ ରେ ନିୟୁକ୍ତି ଥିବା ସମଯାବଧି ଅର୍ଥାତ୍ ଅର୍ତ୍ତକ୍ଷସ୍ତ ରାଜାର ଅଧିକାରର କୋଡିଏ ବର୍ଷଠାରୁ ବତିଶ ବର୍ଷପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ସହେି ବାରବର୍ଷ ମୁଁ କିମ୍ବା ମାରେ ଭାତୃଗଣ ଦଶାେଧ୍ଯକ୍ଷର ବୃତ୍ତି ଭୋଗ କଲୁ ନାହିଁ।
14Moreover from the time that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year even to the two and thirtieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that is, twelve years, I and my brothers have not eaten the bread of the governor.
15ମାତ୍ର ମାରେ ପୂର୍ବାବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ଦଶାେଧ୍ଯକ୍ଷମାନଙ୍କ ବ୍ଯଯଭାର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ବହିବାକୁ ପଡିଲା। ଆଉ ସମାନେେ ଗ୍ଭଳିଶ ଶକେଲ ରେ ୗପ୍ୟ ମୁଦ୍ରା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଖାଦ୍ୟ ଓ ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାରସ ନେଲେ, କବଳେ ତାହା ନୁହେଁ, ସମାନଙ୍କେ ଦାସମାନେ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ କତ୍ତୁର୍ତ୍ବ କଲେ। ମାତ୍ର ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଭୟ ସକାଶୁ ମୁଁ ସପରେି କଲିନାହିଁ।
15But the former governors who were before me were chargeable to the people, and took of them bread and wine, besides forty shekels of silver; yes, even their servants bore rule over the people: but I didn't do so, because of the fear of God.
16ମୁଁ ୟିରୁଶାଲମର ପ୍ରାଚୀର କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ ରେ ନିଜକୁ ନିଯୋଜିତ କଲି। ମୁଁ କୌଣସି ଭୂମି କିଣିଲି ନାହିଁ ଏବଂ ମାରେ ଦାସ ସମସ୍ତେ ସଠାେରେ କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ ରେ ବ୍ଯସ୍ତ ରହିଲେ।
16Yes, also I continued in the work of this wall, neither bought we any land: and all my servants were gathered there to the work.
17ତଥାପି ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଚତୁଃର୍ଦିଗସ୍ଥ ଅନ୍ୟ ଦେଶୀଯମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସନ୍ତା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଛଡା ୟିହୁଦି ଓ ଅଧ୍ଯକ୍ଷ 150 ଲୋକ ମାେ ଭୋଜନ ଆସନ ରେ ବସିଲେ।
17Moreover there were at my table, of the Jews and the rulers, one hundred fifty men, besides those who came to us from among the nations that were round about us.
18ସେ ସମୟରେ ପ୍ରତିଦିନ ଏକ ବଳଦ ଓ ଛଅଟି ବଛା ମଷେ ରୋଷଇେ କରାଗଲା। ମାେ ପାଇଁ କେତକେ ପକ୍ଷୀପାକ କରାଗଲା ଓ ଦଶ ଦିନ ରେ ଥରେ ସବୁ ପ୍ରକାର ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାରସ ଆଯୋଜନ କରାଗଲା। ତଥାପି ମୁଁ ଏହିସବୁ ଲାଗି ଦଶାେଧ୍ଯକ୍ଷର ବୃତ୍ତି ମାଗିଲି ନାହିଁ। ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ଭାର ଗୁରୁତର ହାଇେଥିଲା।
18Now that which was prepared for one day was one ox and six choice sheep; also fowls were prepared for me, and once in ten days store of all sorts of wine: yet for all this I didn't demand the bread of the governor, because the bondage was heavy on this people.
19ହେ ପରମେଶ୍ବର, ମୁଁ ଏହି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଯେଉଁ ଉତ୍ତମ କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ କରିଅଛି, ମାରେ ତାହାସବୁ ସ୍ମରଣ କର।
19Remember to me, my God, for good, all that I have done for this people.
