ତା'ପରେ ଯୀଶୁ ସେ ସ୍ଥାନ ଛାଡି ଦେଲେ। ସେ ୟିହୂଦା ଅଞ୍ଚଳ ଓ ୟର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ନଦୀର ଅପର ପାରିକୁ ଗଲେ। ପୁଣି ବହୁତ ଲୋକ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପାଖ ରେ ଜମା ହାଇଗେଲେ। ସବୁ ସମୟ ଭଳି ଯୀଶୁ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦେଲେ।

He arose from there and came into the borders of Judea and beyond the Jordan. Multitudes came together to him again. As he usually did, he was again teaching them.

କେତକେ ଫାରୂଶୀ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଆସିଲେ। ସମାନେେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ଭୁଲ ଧରିବା ପାଇଁ ଚେଷ୍ଟାକଲେ। ସମାନେେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁୁ ପରୀକ୍ଷା କରିବା ପାଇଁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ପଚାରିଲେ, ଜଣେ ପୁରୁଷ ତାର ସ୍ତ୍ରୀକୁ ଛାଡପତ୍ର ଦବୋ କ'ଣ ଆଇନ ସଙ୍ଗତ କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ?

Pharisees came to him testing him, and asked him, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?"

ଯୀଶୁ କହିଲେ, ମାଶାେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କ'ଣ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦଇେଛନ୍ତି?

He answered, "What did Moses command you?"

ସମାନେେ କହିଲେ, ଜଣେ ପୁରୁଷ ଛାଡପତ୍ର ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରମାଣପତ୍ର ଲେଖି ଦଇେ ତା'ପରେ ନିଜ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀକୁ ଛାଡି ଦଇେ ପାରିବ ବୋଲି, ମାଶାେ କହିଥିଲେ।

They said, "Moses allowed a certificate of divorce to be written, and to divorce her."

ଯୀଶୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ କହିଲେ, ମାଶାେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଏହି ଆଜ୍ଞା ଲେଖିଥିଲେ, କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଉପଦେଶ ମାନିବାକୁ ମନା କଲ।

But Jesus said to them, "For your hardness of heart, he wrote you this commandment.

କିନ୍ତୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଯେତବେେଳେ ଜଗତ ସୃଷ୍ଟି କଲେ, ' ସେ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ପୁରୁଷ ଓ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ କରି ସୃଷ୍ଟି କଲେ।'

But from the beginning of the creation, 'God made them male and female.
7
ଏଣୁ ଜଣେ ପୁରୁଷ ନିଜ ବାପାମାଆଙ୍କୁ ଛାଡି ନିଜ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ସହିତ ମିଳିତ ହବେ

For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will join to his wife,
8
ଏବଂ ସମାନେେ ଏକ ହାଇଯେିବେ।' ତେଣୁ ସମାନେେ ଦୁଇଜଣ ନୁହଁନ୍ତି ବରଂ ଏକ।
8
and the two will become one flesh,' so that they are no longer two, but one flesh.

ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଯଦି ଏହି ଦୁଇଜଣ ମନୁଷ୍ଯଙ୍କୁ ଏକାଠି କରିଛନ୍ତି, ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କୌଣସି ବ୍ଯକ୍ତି ଅଲଗା କରି ଦବୋ ଉଚିତ ନୁହେଁ।

What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate."

ତା'ପରେ ଯୀଶୁ ଓ ଶିଷ୍ଯମାନେ ଘରକୁ ଫରେିବା ପରେ ଶିଷ୍ଯମାନେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ପୁଣି ଥରେ ଛାଡପତ୍ର ବିଷୟ ରେ ପଚାରିଲେ।

In the house, his disciples asked him again about the same matter.
11
ଯୀଶୁ କହିଲେ, ଯେଉଁ ପୁରୁଷ ନିଜ ପତ୍ନୀକୁ ଛାଡପତ୍ର ଦଇେ ଅନ୍ୟ ଜଣେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀକୁ ବିବାହ କରେ, ସହେି ପୁରୁଷ ତା ପତ୍ନୀ ପ୍ରତି ପାପ କରିବା କାରଣରୁ ଦୋଷୀ ହୁଏ। ସେ ବ୍ଯଭିଚାର ପାପ ପାଇଁ ଦୋଷୀ ହୁଏ।

He said to them, "Whoever divorces his wife, and marries another, commits adultery against her.
12
ଏବଂ ଯଦି ଜଣେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ନିଜ ସ୍ବାମୀଙ୍କୁ ଛାଡପତ୍ର ଦଇେ ଅନ୍ୟ ଜଣେ ପୁରୁଷକୁ ବିବାହ କରେ ତବେେ ସେ ମଧ୍ଯ ବ୍ଯଭିଚାର ପାପରେ ଦୋଷୀ ହୁଏ।

If a woman herself divorces her husband, and marries another, she commits adultery."

ପୁଣି ଲୋକମାନେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ପାଖକୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେର େଛାଟ େଛାଟ ପିଲାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଣିଲେ ଯେପରି ଯୀଶୁ ପିଲାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଛୁଇଁ ଦଇେ ଆଶୀର୍ବାଦ କରିବେ। କିନ୍ତୁ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ଶିଷ୍ଯମାନେ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ବାରଣ କଲେ ଯେ ସମାନେେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ପିଲାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ନ ଆଣନ୍ତୁ।

They were bringing to him little children, that he should touch them, but the disciples rebuked those who were bringing them.
14
ଏହା ଦେଖି ଯୀଶୁ ବହୁତ ରାଗିଗଲେ। ଯୀଶୁ ଶିଷ୍ଯମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, େଛାଟ େଛାଟ ପିଲାମାନେ ମାେ ପାଖକୁ ଆସନ୍ତୁ। ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଅଟକାଅ ନାହିଁ। କାରଣ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ରାଜ୍ଯ ଏହି ପିଲାମାନଙ୍କ ଭଳି ସରଳ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ଅଟେ।

But when Jesus saw it, he was moved with indignation, and said to them, "Allow the little children to come to me! Don't forbid them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
15
ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସତ୍ଯ କହୁଛି, ଗୋଟିଏ େଛାଟ ପିଲା ସରଳ ମନ ରେ ସବୁ ବିଷୟ ଗ୍ରହଣ କଲାଭଳି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ରାଜ୍ଯ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବା ଉଚିତ ନଚତେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସଠାେରେ କବେେ ହେଲେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରି ପାରିବ ନାହିଁ।

Most assuredly I tell you, whoever will not receive the Kingdom of God like a little child, he will in no way enter into it."
16
ତା'ପରେ ଯୀଶୁ ପିଲାମାନଙ୍କୁ କୋଳକୁ ଉେଠଇ ନେଲେ। ସେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ଉପରେ ହାତ ରଖି ଆଶୀର୍ବାଦ କଲେ।

He took them in his arms, and blessed them, laying his hands on them.
17
ଯୀଶୁ ଯାଉଥିବା ବେଳେ ଜଣେ ଦୌଡି ଦୌଡି ତାହାଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଆସିଲା ଓ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ଆଗ ରେ ଆଣ୍ଠୁମାଡି ବସି ପଡିଲା। ସେ ପଚାରିଲା, ହେ ଉତ୍ତମ ଗୁରୁ, ଅନନ୍ତ ଜୀବନର ଅଧିକାରୀ ହବୋ ପାଇଁ ମୁଁ କ'ଣ କରିବି?

As he was going out into the way, one ran to him, knelt before him, and asked him, "Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?"
18
ଯୀଶୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମାେତେ ଉତ୍ତମ ବୋଲି କାହିଁକି କହୁଛ? କବଳେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଛଡା ଆଉ କହେି ହେଲେ ଉତ୍ତମ ନୁହଁନ୍ତି।

Jesus said to him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good except one� God.
19
କିନ୍ତୁ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରଶ୍ନର ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଉଛି। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଗୁଡିକ ଜାଣିଛ: ହତ୍ଯା କର ନାହିଁ, ବ୍ଯଭିଗ୍ଭର କର ନାହିଁ, ଚୋରି କର ନାହିଁ, ମିଥ୍ଯା ସାକ୍ଷ୍ଯ ଦିଅ ନାହିଁ, ଠକ ନାହିଁ, ଆପଣା ବାପା ମାଆଙ୍କୁ ଆଦର କର।

You know the commandments: 'Do not murder,' 'Do not commit adultery,' 'Do not steal,' 'Do not give false testimony,' 'Do not defraud,' 'Honor your father and mother.'"

ସହେି ଲୋକ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, ଗୁରୁ, ମୁଁ ମାେ ପିଲାଦିନୁ ଏହି ସବୁ କଥା ମାନି ଚଳୁଛି।

He said to him, "Teacher, I have observed all these things from my youth."
21
ଯୀଶୁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଚାହିଁଲେ ଓ ସ୍ନହେ କଲେ। ସେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ଏବେ ବି ଗୋଟିଏ କଥାର ଅଭାବ ଅଛି। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯାଅ, ଯାହା କିଛି ତୁମ୍ଭ ପାଖ ରେ ଅଛି ସତକେ ବିକି ଦଇେ ଗରିବଙ୍କୁ ସେ ଧନ ବାଣ୍ଟି ଦିଅ। ସ୍ବର୍ଗ ରେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଧନ ମିଳିବ। ତା'ପରେ ଆସ ଓ ମାରେ ଅନୁସହରଣ କର।

Jesus looking at him loved him, and said to him, "One thing you lack. Go, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me, taking up the cross."
22
ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ କଥା ଶୁଣି ଲୋକଟିର ମନ ଦୁଃଖ ହାଇଗେଲା। ସେ ମନ ଦୁଃଖ ରେ ଫରେିଗଲା। କାରଣ ସେ ବହୁତ ଧନୀ ଥିଲା ଓ ତାର ଧନ ନିଜ ପାଖ ରେ ରଖିବାକୁ ଚାହୁଁଥିଲା।

But his face fell at that saying, and he went away sorrowful, for he was one who had great possessions.
23
ଯୀଶୁ ଚାରି ଆଡେ ଚାହିଁ ଶିଷ୍ଯମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଧନୀ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ପକ୍ଷ ରେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ରାଜ୍ଯ ରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିବା ବଡ କଠିନ ବିଷୟ।

Jesus looked around, and said to his disciples, "How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter into the Kingdom of God!"
24
ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ କଥା ଶୁଣି ଶିଷ୍ଯମାନେ ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ୟ୍ଯ ହାଇଗେଲେ, କିନ୍ତୁ ଯୀଶୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ପୁଣି କହିଲେ, ହେ ମାରେ ପିଲାମାନେ, ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ରାଜ୍ଯ ରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିବା ପ୍ରକୃତ ରେ କଡେେ କଠିନ।

The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus answered again, "Children, how hard is it for those who trust in riches to enter into the Kingdom of God!
25
ଜଣେ ଧନୀ ଲୋକର ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ରାଜ୍ଯ ରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିବା ଅପେକ୍ଷା, ଗୋଟିଏ ଓଟ ଗୋଟିଏ ଛୁଞ୍ଚି କଣା ରେ ଗଳି ଯାଇ ପାରିବା ସହଜ।

It is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God."
26
ସମାନେେ ଆହୁରି ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ୟ୍ଯ ହାଇଗେଲେ। ସମାନେେ ପରସ୍ପର କୁହାକୁହି ହେଲେ, ତବେେ କିଏ ଉଦ୍ଧାର ପାଇ ପାରିବ?

They were exceedingly astonished, saying to him, "Then who can be saved?"
27
ଯୀଶୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଚାହିଁ କହିଲେ, ଏହା ମନୁଷ୍ଯମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଅସମ୍ଭବ। କିନ୍ତୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ନୁହେଁ। ପରମେଶ୍ବର ସବୁ କିଛି କରି ପାରିବୋ
27
Jesus, looking at them, said, "With men it is impossible, but not with God, for all things are possible with God."
28
ପିତର ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ଅନୁସରଣ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ସବୁ କିଛି ତ୍ଯାଗ କରିଛୁ।

Peter began to tell him, "Behold, we have left all, and have followed you."
29
ଯୀଶୁ କହିଲେ, ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ସତ୍ଯ କହୁଛି, ଯେ ମାେ ପାଇଁ ଓ ସୁସମାଚାର ପାଇଁ ଘରଦ୍ବାର, ଭାଇ-ଭଉଣୀ, ବାପା-ମାଆ, ପିଲାଛୁଆ ଓ ଜମିବାଡି ଛାଡି ଦଇେ ପାରିଛି,
29
Jesus said, "Most assuredly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or land, for my sake, and for the gospel's sake,
30
ସେ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ଆପଣାର ସହେି ଛାଡିଥିବା ବସ୍ତୁଠାରୁ ଶ ହେ ଗୁଣ ଅଧିକ ଇହ କାଳ ରେ ପାଇ ପାରିବ। ସେ ଅଧିକ ଘରଦ୍ବାର, ଭାଉ-ଭଉଣୀ, ମାଆ, ପିଲା ପିଲି, ଓ ଜମି ବାଡି ପାଇବ। ଏବଂ ନିର୍ୟ୍ଯାତନା ସହିତ ସେ ଏହି ସବୁ ଜିନିଷ ପାଇବ କିନ୍ତୁ ପର କାଳ ରେ ସେ ଅନନ୍ତ ଜୀବନ ଲାଭ କରିବ।
30
but he will receive one hundred times more now in this time, houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and land, with persecutions; and in the age to come eternal life.
31
ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକମାନେ ପ୍ରଥମ ସ୍ଥାନ ରେ ଅଛନ୍ତି, ସମାନେେ ଭବିଷ୍ଯତ ରେ ଶଷେ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଚାଲିଯିବେ, ଏବଂ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଶଷେ ସ୍ଥାନ ରେ ଅଛନ୍ତି, ସମାନେେ ଭବିଷ୍ଯତ ରେ ପ୍ରଥମ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଚାଲିଯିବେ।

But many who are first will be last; and the last first."

ଯୀଶୁ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଲୋକମାନେ ୟିରୁଶାଲମକୁ ଯାଉଥିଲେ। ଯୀଶୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ଆଗେ ଆଗେ ଯାଉଥିଲେ। ତାହାଙ୍କ ଶିଷ୍ଯମାନେ ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ୟ୍ଯାନ୍ବିତ ହାଇେ ଯାଉଥିଲେ। କିନ୍ତୁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଅନୁସରଣ କରି ଆସୁଥିବା ଲୋକେ ସବୁ ଡରି ଯାଇଥିଲେ। ଯୀଶୁ ତାହାଙ୍କର ବାରଜଣ ପ୍ ରରେିତଙ୍କୁ ଅଲଗା ଡାକି ୟିରୁଶାଲମ ରେ ଯାହା ସବୁ ଘଟିବ, ସେ ବିଷୟ ରେ କହିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ।

They were on the way, going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus was going in front of them, and they were amazed; and those who followed were afraid. He again took the twelve, and began to tell them the things that were going to happen to him.
33
ଯୀଶୁ କହିଲେ, ଶୁଣ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ୟିରୁଶାଲମକୁ ଯାଉଛୁ। ମନୁଷ୍ଯପୁତ୍ରଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରଧାନ ଯାଜକ ଓ ଧର୍ମଶାସ୍ତ୍ରୀମାନଙ୍କ ହାତ ରେ ଦଇେ ଦିଆୟିବ ଏବଂ ସମାନେେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ମୃତ୍ଯୁ ଦଣ୍ଡଦବୋ ପାଇଁ ଅଣଯୀହୂଦୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ସମର୍ପି ଦବେେ।

"Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes. They will condemn him to death, and will deliver him to the Gentiles.
34
ସମାନେେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଉପହାସ କରିବେ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ଛପେ ପକାଇବେ। ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କୋରଡା ରେ ପିଟିବେ ଓ ଶଷେ ରେ ମାରି ପକାଇବେ। କିନ୍ତୁ ମୃତ୍ଯୁଠାରୁ ତୃତୀୟ ଦିନ ରେ ସେ ପୁନରୁତ୍ଥାନ ହବେେ।

They will mock him, spit on him, scourge him, and kill him. On the third day he will rise again."
35
ଜବଦେିଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ଯାକୁବ ଓ ଯୋହନ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଆସି କହିଲେ, ହେ ଗୁରୁ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆମ୍ଭ ପାଇଁ କିଛି କର ବୋଲି ଆମ୍ଭେ ଚାହୁଁଛୁ।

James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came near to him, saying, "Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we will ask."
36
ଯୀଶୁ ପଚାରିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ମାେ ଦ୍ବାରା ତୁମ୍ଭ ପାଇଁ କ'ଣ ପାଇବାକୁ ଚାହୁଁଛ?

He said to them, "What do you want me to do for you?"
37
ସମାନେେ କହିଲେ, ଆପଣଙ୍କ ରାଜ୍ଯ ରେ ଆପଣ ମହିମା ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ହବୋ ବେଳେ ଆମ୍ଭ ଭିତରୁ ଜଣେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଡାହାଣ ପଟେ ଓ ଆଉ ଜଣେ ବାମ ପଟେ ବସିବା ପାଇଁ ଆମ୍ଭକୁ ଅଧିକାର ପ୍ରଦାନ କରନ୍ତୁ।

They said to him, "Grant to us that we may sit, one at your right hand, and one at your left hand, in your glory."
38
ଯୀଶୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ କ'ଣ ମାଗୁଛ, ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣି ପାରୁନାହଁ। ମୁଁ ଯେଉଁ ଯାତନା ଭୋଗ କରିବି, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମଧ୍ଯ କ'ଣ ସହେି ଭଳି ଯାତନା ଭୋଗ କରି ପାରିବ? ମୁଁ ଯେଉଁ ଭଳି ବାପ୍ତିଜିତ ହବେି, ତୁମ୍ଭେ କ'ଣ ସହେିଭଳି ବାପ୍ତିଜିତ ହାଇେ ପାରିବ?

But Jesus said to them, "You don't know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?"
39
ସମାନେେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ହଁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ପାରିବୁ।
39
They said to him, "We are able." Jesus said to them, "You shall indeed drink the cup that I drink, and you shall be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with;

କିନ୍ତୁ ମାରେ ଡାହାଣ ବା ବାମ ପଟ ରେ କିଏ ବସିବ, ତାହା ବାଛିବାର ଅଧିକାର ମାରେ ନାହିଁ। ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଏହା ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରା ଯାଇଛି, କବଳେ ସହେିମାନେ ସେଥି ରେ ବସି ପାରିବେ।

but to sit at my right hand and at my left hand is not mine to give, but for whom it has been prepared."

ଅନ୍ୟ ଦଶ ଜଣ ପ୍ ରରେିତ ଏହା ଶୁଣିଲେ। ସମାନେେ ଯାକୁବ ଓ ଯୋହନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ରାଗିଗଲେ।

When the ten heard it, they began to be indignant towards James and John.

ଯୀଶୁ ସମସ୍ତ ପ୍ ରରେିତମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏକାଠି ଡାକିଲେ। ସେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ କହିଲେ, ଅଣଯିହୂଦୀମାନଙ୍କ ଭିତ ରେ ଅନକେ ଲୋକ ଅଛନ୍ତି, ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କୁ ସମାନେେ ଶାସକ କହନ୍ତି। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣ ଯେ, ଏହି ଶାସକମାନେ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ପ୍ରଭୁତ୍ବ ଦଖାଇବୋକୁ ଭଲ ପାଆନ୍ତି। ତାହାଙ୍କର ମହତ୍ତ୍ବପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ନେତାମାନେ ମଧ୍ଯ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ତାହାଙ୍କର ଅଧିକର ସାବ୍ଯସ୍ତ କରିବାକୁ ଭଲ ପାଆନ୍ତି।

Jesus summoned them, and said to them, "You know that they who are recognized as rulers over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.
43
କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ମଧିଅରେ ଏଭଳି କିଛି ହବୋ ଅନୁଚିତ। ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭ ଭିତରୁ କହେି ବଡ ହବୋକୁ ଚାହୁଁଥାଏ, ତବେେ ସେ ଜଣେ ସବେକ ଭଳି ତୁମ୍ଭ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କର ସବୋ କରୁ।

But it shall not be so among you, but whoever wants to become great among you shall be your servant.
44
ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭ ଭିତରୁ କହେି ମହତ୍ତ୍ବପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ହବୋକୁ ଚାହୁଁଥାଏ, ତବେେ ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କର ଜଣେ କ୍ରୀତଦାସ ଭଳି ସବୋ କରୁ।

Whoever of you wants to become first among you, shall be bondservant of all.
45
ସହେିଭଳି ମନୁଷ୍ଯ ପୁତ୍ର ଅନ୍ୟ ଠାରୁ ସବୋ ପାଇବା ପାଇଁ ଆସି ନାହାଁନ୍ତି, ବରଂ ସେ ସବୋ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଆସିଛନ୍ତି। ସେ ବହୁତ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରିବା ପାଇଁ ନିଜର ଜୀବନ ଦବୋ ପାଇଁ ଆସିଛନ୍ତି।

For the Son of Man also came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

ତା'ପରେ ସମାନେେ ଯିରୀହାକେୁ ଆସିଲେ। ଯୀଶୁ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଶିଷ୍ଯ ଓ ଅନ୍ୟ ଅନକେ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ସହିତ ସହେି ସହର ଛାଡି ୟିବା ସମୟରେ ଟୀମାୟର ପୁଅ ବାର୍ଟୀମୟ ନାମକ ଜଣେ ଅନ୍ଧ ଭିକାରୀ ରାସ୍ତା କଡ ରେ ବସିଥିଲା। ସେ ସଦାବାଳେ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଭିକ ମାଗୁଥିଲା।

They came to Jericho. As he went out from Jericho, with his disciples and a great multitude, the son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the road.
47
ସେ ଶୁଣିଲା ଯେ ନାଜରିତୀୟ ଯୀଶୁ ସହେି ବାଟ ଦଇେ ଯାଉଛନ୍ତି। ସେ ଚିତ୍କାର କରି କହିଲା, ହେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ଯୀଶୁ : ମାେ ଉପରେ କୃପା କର।

When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out, and say, "Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me!"

ଅନକେ ଲୋକ ତାକୁ ତୁନି ହବୋ ପାଇଁ ଧମକ ଦେଲେ। କିନ୍ତୁ ସହେି ଅନ୍ଧ ଭିକାରୀଟି ଅଧିକରୁ ଅଧିକ ଚିତ୍କାର କରି କହିଲା, ହେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ଯୀଶୁ, ମାେ ଉପରେ କୃପା କର।

Many rebuked him, that he should be quiet, but he cried out much more, "You son of David, have mercy on me!"
49
ଯୀଶୁ ଅଟକି ଗଲେ ଓ କହିଲେ, ତାହାକୁ କୁହ ମାେ ପାଖକୁ ଆସୁ।

Jesus stood still, and said, "Call him." They called the blind man, saying to him, "Cheer up! Get up. He is calling you!"

ଅନ୍ଧ ଲୋକଟି ତତ୍କ୍ଷଣାତ୍ ତା ଚାଦରଟି ଫିଙ୍ଗି ଦଲୋ ଓ ଡଇେଁ ପଡିଲା। ସେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସିଲା।

He, casting away his cloak, sprang up, and came to Jesus.

ଯୀଶୁ ଅନ୍ଧ ଲୋକଟିକୁ ପଚାରିଲେ, ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପାଇଁ କ'ଣ କରିବି ବୋଲି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଚାହୁଁଛ? ଅନ୍ଧଟି ଉତ୍ତର ଦଲୋ, ଗୁରୁ, ମୁଁ ଦେଖିବାକୁ ଚାହୁଁଛି।

Jesus asked him, "What do you want me to do for you?" The blind man said to him, "Rhabboni, that I may see again."

ଯୀଶୁ କହିଲେ, ଯାଅ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଭଲ ହାଇଗେଲ, କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବିଶ୍ବାସ କଲ। ତା'ପରେ ଲୋକଟି ସବୁ କିଛି ଦେଖି ପାରିଲା ଓ ସେ ପଥରେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ଅନୁସରଣ କଲା।

Jesus said to him, "Go your way. Your faith has made you well." Immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
