ତା'ପରେ ତୈମନର ଇଲୀଫସ ଆୟୁବକୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦଲୋ,

Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered,

ଆୟୁବ, ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ପ୍ରକୃତ ରେ ଜ୍ଞାନୀ, ତବେେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବ୍ଯକ୍ତିଗତ ମୂଲ୍ଯହୀନ ମତ ରେ ଉତ୍ତର ଦିଅନ୍ତ ନାହିଁ। ଜଣେ ଜ୍ଞାନୀ ଲୋକ ଏତେ ଗରମ ପବନ ରେ ଭର୍ତ୍ତି ହାଇେ ରହିବ ନାହିଁ।

"Should a wise man answer with vain knowledge, And fill himself with the east wind?

ତୁମ୍ଭେ କ'ଣ ଭାବୁଛ ଜ୍ଞାନୀ ଲୋକ ଏପରି ମୂଲ୍ଯହୀନ କଥାକୁ ନଇେ ୟୁକ୍ତି କରିବ, ଯେଉଁ କଥାଗୁଡ଼ିକର କୌଣସି ମୂଲ୍ଯ ନାହିଁ।

Should he reason with unprofitable talk, Or with speeches with which he can do no good?

କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଭୟ ନାହିଁ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏତେ କଥାବାର୍ତ୍ତା କର ଯେ, ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖ ରେ ଭକ୍ତି କରିବା ପାଇଁ ସମୟ ପାଆନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ।

Yes, you do away with fear, And hinder devotion before God.

କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭର କଥା ତୁମ୍ଭର ପାପକୁ ହିଁ ସ୍ବୀକାର କରୁଛି। ଆୟୁବ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ପାପକୁ ଲୁଚାଇବାକୁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କରୁଛ, ଚତୁରତା ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ବାକ୍ଯ ମଧିଅରେ।

For your iniquity teaches your mouth, And you choose the language of the crafty.

ଏହା ଦ୍ବାରା ମୁଁ ପ୍ରମାଣ କରିବାକୁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କରୁନାହିଁ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯାହା କରୁଛ ସବୁ ଅଧର୍ମ ବୋଲି। ଯେଉଁ ବିଷଯ ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିଜ ମୁଖ ଦ୍ବାରା କହୁଛ ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଭୁଲ୍ ବୋଲି ଦଖାେଉଛ। ତୁମ୍ଭର ନିଜ ଓଠ ତୁମ୍ଭ୍ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ ସାକ୍ଷ୍ଯ ଦେଉଛି।

Your own mouth condemns you, and not I; Yes, your own lips testify against you.

ଆୟୁବ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ କ'ଣ ପ୍ରଥମ ବ୍ଯକ୍ତି ଜନ୍ମ ହାଇେଛ ? ଏହି ପର୍ବତସବୁ ପୂର୍ବରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଗର୍ଭ ରେ ଧାରଣ ହାଇେଥିଲ କି ?

"Are you the first man who was born? Or were you brought forth before the hills?

ତୁମ୍ଭେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଗୋପନ ଯୋଜନା ବିଷଯ ରେ କିଛି ଜାଣ କି ? ତୁମ୍ଭେ କ'ଣ ନିଜକୁ ଏକମାତ୍ର ଜ୍ଞାନୀ ବୋଲି ଭାବୁଛ ?

Have you heard the secret counsel of God? Do you limit wisdom to yourself?

ଆୟୁବ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯାହା କର ତାହାଠାରୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଅଧିକ ଜାଣୁ। ଆମ୍ଭେ ସେ କଥା ବୁଝିପାରୁ ଯାହା ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣ ନାହିଁ।

What do you know, that we don't know? What do you understand, which is not in us?

ସହେି ପାଚିଲାବାଳିଆ ଓ ବୃଦ୍ଧ ଲୋକଗୁଡ଼ିକ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ କଥା ରେ ଏକମନ ହବେେ, ଏପରିକି ତୁମ୍ଭର ପିତାଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଆହୁରି ବୃଦ୍ଧ ଲୋକମାନେ ମଧ୍ଯ ଆମ୍ଭ ସହିତ ଅଛନ୍ତି।

With us are both the gray-headed and the very aged men, Much elder than your father.

ପରମେଶ୍ବର ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ସାନ୍ତ୍ବନା ଦବୋକୁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କରନ୍ତି। ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭ ପାଇଁ ୟଥେଷ୍ଟ ନୁହେଁ। ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ବାଣୀ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଅତି ମୃଦୁ ବାକ୍ଯ ରେ ବୁଝାଇ କହିଲୁ।

Are the consolations of God too small for you, Even the word that is gentle toward you?
12
ଆୟୁବ ତୁମ୍ଭେ କାହିଁକି ବୁଝିବାକୁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କରୁ ନାହଁ ? ତୁମ୍ଭେ କାହିଁକି ସତ୍ଯକୁ ସ୍ବୀକାର କରୁ ନାହଁ ?

Why does your heart carry you away? Why do your eyes flash,

ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏହା ଦ୍ବଷେପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କଥାଗୁଡ଼ାକ କହି ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧାଚରଣ କରୁଛ।

That you turn your spirit against God, And let such words go out of your mouth?
14
ମନୁଷ୍ଯ କ'ଣ ସତ ରେ ଶୁଦ୍ଧ ହାଇପୋରିବ ? ଜଣେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଲୋକଠାରୁ ଜନ୍ମ ହାଇେଥିବା କହେି ଧାର୍ମିକ ହାଇପୋରିବ କି ?

What is man, that he should be clean? He who is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?
15
ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଏମିତିକି ନିଜର ଦୂତମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିଶ୍ବାସ କରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ। ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଅନୁସାରେ ଆକାଶମଣ୍ଡଳ ମଧ୍ଯ ପବିତ୍ର ନୁହେଁ।

Behold, he puts no trust in his holy ones; Yes, the heavens are not clean in his sight:
16
ମନୁଷ୍ଯମାନେ ଆହୁରି ତା'ଠାରୁ ଖରାପ। ମନୁଷ୍ଯ ଅତି ଅପରିଷ୍କାର ଓ ଭ୍ରଷ୍ଟ ମଧ୍ଯ। ସେ ଅଧର୍ମକୁ ଜଳପରି ପାନ କରେ।

How much less one who is abominable and corrupt, A man who drinks iniquity like water!
17
ମାେ କଥା ଶୁଣ ଆୟୁବ, ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ବୁଝାଇ ଦେଉଛି। ମୁଁ ଯାହା ଜାଣିଛି ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ କହିବି।

"I will show you, listen to me; That which I have seen I will declare:
18
ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ସହେି ଜ୍ଞାନୀ ଲୋକଙ୍କ କଥା କହିବି ଯାହା ସମାନେେ ମାେତେ କହିଥିଲେ। ଜ୍ଞାନୀ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷମାନେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଏହିସବୁ କହିଥିଲେ। ସମାନେେ କୌଣସି କଥା ମାଠାେ ରେ ଗୋପନ କି ଗୁପ୍ତ ରଖି ନ ଥିଲେ।

(Which wise men have told From their fathers, and have not hidden it;
19
କବଳେ ସମାନେେ ହିଁ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ଦେଶ ରେ ବାସ କରୁଥିଲେ। ସହେି ଦେଶ ରେ ବିଦେଶୀମାନଙ୍କର ଗତାଗତ ନ ଥିଲା। ତେଣୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ କହେି ବିଚିତ୍ର ମତ ଦଇେ ନ ଥିଲେ।

To whom alone the land was given, And no stranger passed among them):
20
ସହେି ଜ୍ଞାନୀ ଲୋକମାନେ କହିଥିଲେ, ଦୁଷ୍ଟଲୋକ ଆପଣାର କୁକର୍ମକୁ ସାରାଜୀବନ ଭୋଗ କରେ। ଜଣେ ନିଷ୍ଠୁର ବ୍ଯକ୍ତି ତା'ର ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ଗଣିତ ବର୍ଷ ରେ କ୍ଲେଶ ଭୋଗ କରେ।

The wicked man travails with pain all his days, Even the number of years that are laid up for the oppressor.
21
ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ଶବ୍ଦ ତା'ର ଭୟ ସଞ୍ଚାର କରେ। ତା'ର ଶତ୍ରୁ ତାକୁ ଆକ୍ରମଣ କରନ୍ତି, ଯେତବେେଳେ ସେ ନିଜକୁ ନିରାପଦ ମଣୁଥାଏ।

A sound of terrors is in his ears; In prosperity the destroyer shall come on him.
22
ଜଣେ ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ବ୍ଯକ୍ତି ବହୁତ ହତାଶ, ତା'ର ଅନ୍ଧକାରରୁ ମୁକ୍ତି ପାଇବାର କୌଣସି ଆଶା ନ ଥାଏ। ଗୋଟିଏ ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ମନୁଷ୍ଯ ପାଇଁ ଗୋଟିଏ ଖଡ୍ଗ କେଉଁଠା ରେ ହେଲେ ଅପେକ୍ଷା କରିଥାଏ।

He doesn't believe that he shall return out of darkness, He is waited for by the sword.
23
ସେ ଏଣତେଣେେ ଘୁରିବୁଲେ। କିନ୍ତୁ ତା'ର ଶରୀର ଶଷେ ରେ ଶାଗୁଣାର ଖାଦ୍ୟ ହୁଏ। ସେ ଜାଣେ ତା'ର ମୃତ୍ଯୁ ନିକଟ ହାଇେ ଆସିଲାଣି।
23
He wanders abroad for bread, saying, 'Where is it?' He knows that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.
24
ଚିନ୍ତା ଓ ଦୁଃଖ ୟନ୍ତ୍ରଣା ତାକୁ ଭୟଭୀତ କରାଏ। ଏସବୁ ରାଜାପରି ତାକୁ ଆକ୍ରମଣ କରି ତୁରନ୍ତ ଧ୍ବଂସ କରାନ୍ତି।

Distress and anguish make him afraid; They prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.
25
କାହିଁକି ? କାରଣ ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ବ୍ଯକ୍ତି ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଆଦେଶକୁ ପ୍ରତ୍ଯାଖ୍ଯାନ କରେ। ସେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ ହସ୍ତ ଉଠାଏ ଏବଂ ସର୍ବଶକ୍ତିମାନ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କୁ ପରାସ୍ତ କରିବାକୁ ପ୍ରଯାସ କରେ।

Because he has stretched out his hand against God, And behaves himself proudly against the Almighty;
26
ସହେି ଦୁଷ୍ଟଲୋକ ଅତ୍ଯନ୍ତ ଶକ୍ତଗ୍ରୀବ। ସେ ଆପଣା କଠିନ ଢ଼ାଲ ଧରି ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କୁ ଆକ୍ରମଣ କରିବାକୁ ଆଗଇେ ଆ ସେ।

He runs at him with a stiff neck, With the thick shields of his bucklers;
27
ଜଣେ ବ୍ଯକ୍ତି ଧନୀ ଓ ମଦେ ବହୁଳ ହାଇପୋ ରେ।
27
Because he has covered his face with his fatness, And gathered fat on his loins.
28
କିନ୍ତୁ ତା'ର ସହର ଧ୍ବଂସ ପାଇବ। ତା'ର ଗୃହ ଧ୍ବଂସ ହବେ। ତା'ର ଘର ଶୂନ୍ଯ ହବେ।

He has lived in desolate cities, In houses which no one inhabited, Which were ready to become heaps.
29
ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକ ବେଶୀଦିନ ଧନୀ ହାଇପୋରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ। ତା'ର ସମ୍ପତ୍ତି ବେଶୀଦିନ ତିଷ୍ଠିବ ନାହିଁ। ତା'ର ସମ୍ପତ୍ତି ସମଗ୍ର ଦେଶ ରେ ବ୍ଯାପ୍ତ ହବେ ନାହିଁ।
29
He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, Neither shall their possessions be extended on the earth.
30
ଦୁଷ୍ଟଲୋକ ଅନ୍ଧକାରରୁ ରକ୍ଷାପାଇ ପାରିବ ନାହିଁ। ସେ ଏକ ବୃକ୍ଷ ସଦୃଶ, ଯାହାର ପତ୍ର ରୋଗିଣା ହାଇେ ଶୁଖିୟାଏ ଏବଂ ପବନ ତାକୁ ଉଡ଼ାଇ ନିଏ।
30
He shall not depart out of darkness; The flame shall dry up his branches, By the breath of God's mouth shall he go away.
31
ଦୁଷ୍ଟଲୋକ ନିଜକୁ ଭ୍ରାନ୍ତ କରିବ ନାହିଁ ଯେତବେେଳେ ସେ ଅସାର ବିଷଯ ବିଶ୍ବାସ କରେ। କାହିଁକି ? ସେ କିଛି ପାଇବ ନାହିଁ।
31
Let him not trust in emptiness, deceiving himself; For emptiness shall be his reward.
32
ତା'ର ଜୀବନ ଶଷେ ହବୋ ପୂର୍ବରୁ ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ବ୍ଯକ୍ତି ବୁଢ଼ା ହାଇେ ଦୁର୍ବଳ ହାଇୟୋଇଥିବା ସେ ଗୋଟିଏ ଶୁଖିଲା ଡ଼ାଳ ସଦୃଶ, ପୁଣି ଯାହାକି ଆଉ କବେେ ସବୁଜ ହାଇପୋରିବ ନାହିଁ।
32
It shall be accomplished before his time. His branch shall not be green.
33
ଦୁଷ୍ଟଲୋକ ଜଣେ ଅପରିପକ୍ବ ଲୋକ ୟିଏ ଅଙ୍ଗୁରଲତା ସଦୃଶ ଫଳ ପାଚିଲା ପୂର୍ବରୁ ଝଡ଼ି ୟାଏ। ସହେି ବ୍ଯକ୍ତି ଜୀତବୃକ୍ଷଭଳି ନିଜର କଢ଼କୁ ମଧ୍ଯ ହରାଇ ବସିବ।
33
He shall shake off his unripe grape as the vine, And shall cast off his flower as the olive tree.
34
କାହିଁକି ? କାରଣ ମନୁଷ୍ଯଗଣ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ବିନା କିଛି ନୁହଁନ୍ତି। ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ପାଖ ରେ ପଇସା ଥାଏ ସମାନେେ ଲାଞ୍ଚ ନିଅନ୍ତି।
34
For the company of the godless shall be barren, And fire shall consume the tents of bribery.
35
ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ବୁଦ୍ଧି ଲୋକମାନେ ସବୁବେଳେ ଅନ୍ୟର ମନ୍ଦ ବୁଦ୍ଧି ପାଞ୍ଚିଥାନ୍ତି, କିପରି ଅନ୍ୟର କ୍ଷତି କରି ତାକୁ ବିପଦ ରେ ପକାଇବେ। ସମାନେେ ସବୁବେଳେ ଯୋଜନା କରୁଥାନ୍ତି କିପରି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଠକି ହବେ।

They conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity. Their heart prepares deceit."
