1ୟିରୁଶାଲମ ଓ ଯିହୁଦାର ସମସ୍ତ ବନ୍ଦୀ ବାବିଲକୁ ନିଆ ଯାଉଥିବା ବେଳେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ଶୃଙ୍ଖଳାବଦ୍ଧ ଯିରିମିୟଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରହରୀବର୍ଗର ସନୋପତି ନବୂଷରଦନ୍ ରାମା ନଗର ରେ ୟାଇ ମୁକ୍ତ କରେ। ଏହାପ ରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ବାକ୍ଯ ଯିରିମିୟଙ୍କ ନିଟ ରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲା।
1The word which came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, after that Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him being bound in chains among all the captives of Jerusalem and Judah, who were carried away captive to Babylon.
2ସେତବେେଳେ ପ୍ରହରୀବର୍ଗର ସନୋପତି, ଯିରିମିୟଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଏହି ସ୍ଥାନ ବିଷଯ ରେ ଏହି ଅମଙ୍ଗଳକର କଥା କହିଥିଲେ।
2The captain of the guard took Jeremiah, and said to him, Yahweh your God pronounced this evil on this place;
3ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତାଙ୍କ କହିବାନୁସା ରେ ସବୁ ଘଟାଇ ଅଛନ୍ତି। ଏହା ଘଟିଲା, କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଲୋକମାନେ ତାଙ୍କର କଥା ମାନିଲେ ନାହିଁ ଓ ପାପ କଲେ।
3and Yahweh has brought it, and done according as he spoke: because you have sinned against Yahweh, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing is come on you.
4ଆଉ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ହସ୍ତରୁ ଶୃଙ୍ଖଳ ବୁକ୍ତ କଲି। ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମାେ ସହିତ ବାବିଲ ୟିବାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛା କରୁଛ, ତବେେ ଆସ, ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଉତ୍ତମରୂପେ ଯତ୍ନ ନବେି। ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମାେ ସହିତ ୟିବାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛା ନ କରୁଛ, ତବେେ ସେଥିରୁ କ୍ଷାନ୍ତ ହୁଅ। ସମସ୍ତ ଦେଶ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପାଇଁ ମୁକ୍ତ ରହିଛି। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯେ କୌଣସି ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ୟିବାକୁ ଭଲ ମନେ କରୁଛ, ସଠାେକୁ ୟାଅ।
4Now, behold, I loose you this day from the chains which are on your hand. If it seem good to you to come with me into Babylon, come, and I will look well to you; but if it seem ill to you to come with me into Babylon, forbear: behold, all the land is before you; where it seems good and right to you to go, there go.
5ଅଥବା ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଶାଫନର ପୌତ୍ର, ଅହୀକାମର ପୁତ୍ର ଗଦଲିଯ ନିକଟକୁ ଫରେିୟାଅ। ବାବିଲର ରାଜା ତାକୁ ଯିହୁଦାର ଶାସନକର୍ତ୍ତା ରୂପେ ନିୟୁକ୍ତ କରିଅଛି। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାଙ୍କ ସହିତ ବାସ କର କିଅବା ଯେ କୌଣସି ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ୟିବାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛା କରୁଛ ସେ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ୟାଅ।
5Now while he was not yet gone back, Go back then, said he, to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right to you to go. So the captain of the guard gave him food and a present, and let him go.
6ତେଣୁ ଯିରିମିୟ ମିସ୍ତ୍ରା ରେ ଅହୀକାମର ପୁତ୍ର ଗଦଲିଯ ନିକଟକୁ ୟାଇ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ମଧିଅରେ ଯିହୁଦା ରେ ତାଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ବାସ କଲେ।
6Then went Jeremiah to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah, and lived with him among the people who were left in the land.
7ଯେତବେେଳେ ୟିରୁଶାଲମ ଧ୍ବଂସ ହେଲା, ସେତବେେଳେ ଯିହୁଦାର କେତକେ ସନୋପତି, ଅଧିପତି ଓ ଲୋକ ବାହା ରେ ଥିଲେ। ସମାନେେ ଶୁଣିଲେ ଯେ ବାବିଲର ରାଜା ଅହୀକାମର ପୁତ୍ର ଗଦଲିଯକୁ ଦେଶର ଶାସନକର୍ତ୍ତା ରୂପେ ନିୟୁକ୍ତ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି। ସେ ତାଙ୍କ ଉପ ରେ ବାବିଲକୁ ନିଆୟାଇ ନ ଥିବା ପୁରୁଷ, ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ, ବାଳକ ଓ ବାଳିକା ଏବଂ ଦେଶସ୍ଥ ଦରିଦ୍ରମାନଙ୍କର ଭାର ନ୍ଯସ୍ତ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି।
7Now when all the captains of the forces who were in the fields, even they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam governor in the land, and had committed to him men, and women, and children, and of the poorest of the land, of those who were not carried away captive to Babylon;
8ଯେଉଁମାନେ ମିସ୍ଫୀକୁ ଗଦଲିଯ ନିକଟକୁ ଗଲେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ମଧିଅରେ ନଥନିଯର ପୁତ୍ର ଇଶମାଯଲେ, କା ରହରେ ପୁତ୍ର ୟୋହାନନ୍ ଓ ଯୋନାଥନ୍, ତନ୍ହୂମତର ପୁତ୍ର ସରାଯ, ନଟୋଫାତୀଯ ଏଫଯର ପୁତ୍ରମାନେ ଓ ମାଖାତୀଯର ପୁତ୍ର ୟାସନୀଯ ଥିଲେ।
8then they came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, to wit, Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah the son of the Maacathite, they and their men.
9ଶାଫନର ପୌତ୍ର, ଅହୀକାମର ପୁତ୍ର ଗଦଲିଯ ସହେି ସୈନ୍ଯମାନଙ୍କ ଓ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଶପଥ କରି କହିଲା, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ କଲଦୀଯମାନଙ୍କର ଦାସ ହବୋପାଇଁ ଭୟ କର ନାହିଁ। ବାବିଲ ରାଜାର ସବୋକାରି ଏହି ଦେଶ ରେ ବାସ କର। ଏଥି ରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ମଙ୍ଗଳ ହବେ।
9Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan swore to them and to their men, saying, Don't be afraid to serve the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.
10ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ଯେଉଁ କଲଦୀଯମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭ ନିକଟକୁ ମିସ୍ଫୀକୁ ଆସିବେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଉତ୍ତର କରିବା। ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାରସ, ଗ୍ରୀଷ୍ମକାଳୀନ ଫଳ ଓ ତୈଳ ସଞ୍ଚଯ କରି ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ପାତ୍ର ରେ ରଖ। ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ହସ୍ତଗତ କରିଥିବା ନଗରଗୁଡ଼ିକରେ ବାସ କର।
10As for me, behold, I will dwell at Mizpah, to stand before the Chaldeans who shall come to us: but you , gather you wine and summer fruits and oil, and put them in your vessels, and dwell in your cities that you have taken.
11ଯିହୁଦାର ଯେଉଁସବୁ ଲୋକ ମାୟୋବ, ଅମ୍ମାନେ, ଇଦୋମ ଓ ଅନ୍ଯାନ୍ଯ ସବୁ ଦେଶ ରେ ଥିଲେ, ସମାନେେ ଶୁଣିଲେ ଯେ ବାବିଲର ରାଜା ଯିହୁଦା ଏକ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ଅଂଶ ଲୋକ ରଖିଅଛି ଓ ଶାଫନର ପୌତ୍ର, ଅହୀକାମର ପୁତ୍ର ଗଦଲିଯକୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଶାସନ କରିବାକୁ ନିୟୁକ୍ତ କରିଅଛି।
11Likewise when all the Jews who were in Moab, and among the children of Ammon, and in Edom, and who were in all the countries, heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant of Judah, and that he had set over them Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan;
12ଯେତବେେଳେ ୟିହୁଦୀମାନେ ଏହି ସମ୍ବାଦ ଶୁଣିଲେ, ସମାନେେ ବିତାଡ଼ିତ ହାଇେଥିବା ଦେଶମାନଙ୍କରୁ ଯିହୁଦାକୁ ଫରେିଆସିଲେ। ସମାନେେ ମିସ୍ଫା ରେ ଗଦଲିଯ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସିଲେ। ଆଉ ଅପାର ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାରସ ଓ ଗ୍ରୀଷ୍ମକାଳୀନ ଫଳ ସଞ୍ଚଯ କଲେ।
12then all the Jews returned out of all places where they were driven, and came to the land of Judah, to Gedaliah, to Mizpah, and gathered wine and summer fruits very much.
13ଆହୁରି କା ରହରେ ପୁତ୍ର ଗୋହାନନ୍ ଓ ପଦା ରେ ଅବସ୍ଥିତ ସନୋପତି ସକଳ ମିସ୍ପା ରେ ଗଦଲିଯ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସିଲେ।
13Moreover Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were in the fields, came to Gedaliah to Mizpah,
14ରୋହାନନ୍ ଓ ସହେି ଅଧିପତିଗଣ ଗଦଲିଯକୁ କହିଲେ, ଅମ୍ନୋନ୍ ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ରାଜା ବାଲୀସ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ପ୍ରାଣ ନବୋପାଇଁ ନଥନିଯର ପୁତ୍ର ଇଶମାଯଲକେୁ ପଠାଇଅଛି ବୋଲି ଆପଣ ଜାଣନ୍ତି କି ? ମାତ୍ର ଅହୀକାମର ପୁତ୍ର ଗଦଲିଯ ସମାନଙ୍କେ କଥା ରେ ବିଶ୍ବାସ କଲେ ନାହିଁ।
14and said to him, Do you know that Baalis the king of the children of Ammon has sent Ishmael the son of Nethaniah to take your life? But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam didn't believe them.
15ତାହାପ ରେ କା ରହରେ ପୁତ୍ର ୟୋହାନନ୍ ମିସ୍ପା ରେ ଗଦଲିଯକୁ ଗୋପନ ରେ କହିଲେ, ଆପଣଙ୍କର ଅନୁମତି ହେଲେ ମୁଁ ୟାଇ ନଥନିଯର ପୁତ୍ର ଉଶମାଯଲକେୁ ବଧ କରିବି। ଆୁ କହେି ତାହା ଜାଣିବେ ନାହିଁ। ସେ କାହିଁକି ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କରିବ ଓ ତଦ୍ଦ୍ବାରା ଆପଣଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ସଂଗୃହୀତ ୟିହୁଦୀଯ ସମସ୍ତେ ଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନଭିନ୍ନ ହାଇଯେିବେ ଓ ଯିହୁଦାର ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟାଂଶ ବିନଷ୍ଟ ହବେ ?
15Then Johanan the son of Kareah spoke to Gedaliah in Mizpah secretly, saying, Please let me go, and I will kill Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man shall know it: why should he take your life, that all the Jews who are gathered to you should be scattered, and the remnant of Judah perish?
16କିନ୍ତୁ ଅହୀକାମର ପୁତ୍ର ଗଦଲିଯ କାଲହରେ ପୁତ୍ର ୟୋହାନନକୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଇଶମାଯଲକେୁ ବଧ କର ନାହିଁ। କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାଙ୍କ ବିଷଯ ରେ ଯାହା କହୁଅଛ ତାହା ସତ୍ଯ ନୁହେଁ।
16But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam said to Johanan the son of Kareah, You shall not do this thing; for you speak falsely of Ishmael.
