1ଯଦି କୌଣସି ପୁରୁଷ ତା'ର ସ୍ତ୍ରୀକୁ ପରିତ୍ଯାଗ କରେ ଓ ସେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ତାକୁ ତ୍ଯାଗ କରି ଅନ୍ୟ ପୁରୁଷକୁ ବିବାହ କରେ ତବେେ ତା'ର ସ୍ବାମୀ କ'ଣ ପୁନର୍ବାର ତାହା ନିକଟକୁ ଆସିବ ? ଯଦି ସେ ଲୋକ ପୁନର୍ବାର ତାହା ନିକଟକୁ ଆସିବ ତବେେ ସହେି ଦେଶ ଅତ୍ଯନ୍ତ 'ଅଶୁଚି' ହବେ। ହେ ଯିହୁଦା, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଅନକେ ଉପପତି ସଙ୍ଗେ ବ୍ଯଭିଚାର କରିଅଛ। ଆଉ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଆମ୍ଭ ନିକଟକୁ ଫରେି ଆସିବାକୁ ଚାହୁଁଛ। ଏହା ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି।
1They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, will he return to her again? Won't that land be greatly polluted? But you have played the prostitute with many lovers; yet return again to me, says Yahweh.
2ନିଷ୍ଫଳ ପର୍ବତକୁ ଦେଖ। କେଉଁଠା ରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବ୍ଯଭିଚାର କରି ନାହଁ ? ଯେପରି ଜଣେ ଆରବୀଯ ଲୋକ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତର ରେ ବ ସେ, ସହେିପରି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ନିମନ୍ତେ ରାଜପଥରେ ବସିଅଛ। ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ଅବିଶ୍ବାସନୀଯତା ଓ ଦୁଷ୍କର୍ମ ଦ୍ବାରା ଦେଶକୁ 'ଅଶୁଚି' କରିଅଛ।
2Lift up your eyes to the bare heights, and see; where have you not been lain with? By the ways have you sat for them, as an Arabian in the wilderness; and you have polluted the land with your prostitution and with your wickedness.
3ତୁମ୍ଭର ପାପକର୍ମ ଯୋଗୁଁ ବୃଷ୍ଟି ନିବୃତ୍ତ ହାଇେଅଛି। ବସନ୍ତକାଳୀନ ବର୍ଷା ଆସି ନାହିଁ। କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜଣେ ବେଶ୍ଯାର ଭଂଗୀ ଓ ଲଜ୍ଜ୍ଯାହୀନ ଚାହାଣୀ ବଜାଯ ରଖିଛ ଓ ଲଜ୍ଜିତ ହବୋକୁ ଅସ୍ବୀକାର କରୁଛ।
3Therefore the showers have been withheld, and there has been no latter rain; yet you have a prostitute's forehead, you refused to be ashamed.
4କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆମ୍ଭକୁ ଏହି ସମୟଠାରୁ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରି କହିବ, ହେ ମାରେ 'ପିତା', 'ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମାରେ ବାଲ୍ଯକାଳର ପଥପ୍ରଦର୍ଶକ।'
4Will you not from this time cry to me, My Father, you are the guide of my youth?
5ତୁମ୍ଭେ ପୁଣି କୁହ, 'ପରମେଶ୍ବର କ'ଣ ସଦାକାଳ କୃଦ୍ଧ ହାଇେଥିବେ ? ତାଙ୍କର କୋରଧ ଚିରକାଳ ରହିବ ନାହିଁ।' ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭେ କଥା କହୁଅଛ ତଥାପି ଦୁଷ୍କର୍ମ କରିବା ରେ ଲାଗିଛ ଏବଂ ନିଜ ପଥରେ ଚାଲିଛ।'3
5Will he retain his anger forever? will he keep it to the end? Behold, you have spoken and have done evil things, and have had your way.
6ଯିହୁଦା ରେ ଯୋଶିୟଯ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ଶାସନ କାଳ ରେ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମାେତେ କହିଲେ, ବିପଥଗାମିନୀ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ଯାହା କରିଅଛ, ତାହା କ'ଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଦେଖିଅଛ ? ସେ ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ଉଚ୍ଚ ପର୍ବତ ଉପ ରେ ଓ ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ସବୁଜ ବୃକ୍ଷ ତଳେ ୟାଇ ବ୍ଯଭିଚାର କରିଅଛି।
6Moreover Yahweh said to me in the days of Josiah the king, Have you seen that which backsliding Israel has done? she is gone up on every high mountain and under every green tree, and there has played the prostitute.
7ସେ ଏହିସବୁ ଅପକର୍ମ କଲାପ ରେ ମୁଁ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲକୁ କହିଲି, 'ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମାେ ନିକଟକୁ ଫରେି ଆସିବା ଉଚିତ୍? ମାତ୍ର ସେ ଫରେି ଆସିଲା ନାହିଁ ଆଉ ତାହାର ବିଶ୍ବାସଘାତିନୀ ଭଉଣୀ ଯିହୁଦା ଏହା ଦେଖିଲା।
7I said after she had done all these things, She will return to me; but she didn't return: and her treacherous sister Judah saw it.
8ଆଉ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଦେଖିଲୁ ବିପଥଗାମିନୀ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ବ୍ଯଭିଚାର କରିବା ହତେୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତାକୁ ଛାଡ଼ପତ୍ର ଦେଲେ ହେଁ, ତାହା ବିଶ୍ବାସଘାତିନୀ ଭଉଣୀ ଯିହୁଦା ଭୟ କଲା ନାହିଁ। ସେ ମଧ୍ଯ ୟାଇ ବ୍ଯଭିଚାର କଲା।
8I saw, when, for this very cause that backsliding Israel had committed adultery, I had put her away and given her a bill of divorce, yet treacherous Judah, her sister, didn't fear; but she also went and played the prostitute.
9ଯିହୁଦା ବଖାେତିର କରି ବ୍ଯଭିଚାର କଲା ଓ ଦେଶକୁ 'ଅଶୁଚି' କଲା। ଆଉ ସେ ମଧ୍ଯ କାଠ ଓ ପଥର ସଙ୍ଗେ ବ୍ଯଭିଚାର କଲା।
9It happened through the lightness of her prostitution, that the land was polluted, and she committed adultery with stones and with stocks.
10ଏସବୁ ସତ୍ତ୍ବେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ବିଶ୍ବାସଘାତିନୀ ଭଉଣୀ ଯିହୁଦା ସର୍ବାନ୍ତଃକରଣ ରେ ଆମ୍ଭ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସିଲା ନାହିଁ। ମାତ୍ର ସେ ଆମ୍ଭ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସିଛି ବୋଲି କବଳେ ଛଳନା କଲା। ଏହା ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି।
10Yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah has not returned to me with her whole heart, but only in pretense, says Yahweh.
11ଆଉ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମାେତେ କହିଲେ, ବିପଥଗାମିନୀ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ବିଶ୍ବାସଘାତିନୀ ଯିହୁଦା ଅପେକ୍ଷା ନିଜକୁ ଅଧିକ ଧାର୍ମିକା ଦଖାଇେଅଛି।
11Yahweh said to me, Backsliding Israel has shown herself more righteous than treacherous Judah.
12ତେଣୁ ହେ ଯିରିମିୟ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଉତ୍ତର ଦିଗଆଡ଼େ ୟାଇ ଏହି କଥା ପ୍ରଚାର କର ଏବଂ କୁହ,
12Go, and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, you backsliding Israel, says Yahweh; I will not look in anger on you; for I am merciful, says Yahweh, I will not keep anger forever.
13ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ଯାହା ହେଉ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣିବା ଉଚିତ୍ ଯେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଭୁଲ୍ କରିଛ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବିଦେଶୀମାନଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ୟାଇ ଏବଂ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ସହିତ ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ହରିତ୍ ବୃକ୍ଷତଳେ ବେଶ୍ଯାବୃତ୍ତି କରି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ ପାପ କରିଅଛ।' ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମାରେ କଥା ମାନିଲ ନାହିଁ।
13Only acknowledge your iniquity, that you have transgressed against Yahweh your God, and have scattered your ways to the strangers under every green tree, and you have not obeyed my voice, says Yahweh.
14ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ହେ ବିପଥଗାମୀ ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଆମ୍ଭ ନିକଟକୁ ଫରେିଆସ, କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ସ୍ବାମୀ। ଆମ୍ଭେ ପ୍ରତି ନଗରରୁ ଏକ ଜଣ ଓ ପ୍ରତି ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ଦୁଇଜଣ କରି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସିୟୋନକୁ ଆଣିବା।
14Return, backsliding children, says Yahweh; for I am a husband to you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:
15ତା'ପ ରେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ନୂତନ ପାଳକଗଣ ଦବୋ, ଯେଉଁମାନେ କି ଆମ୍ଭପ୍ରତି ଅତ୍ଯନ୍ତ ବିଶ୍ବସ୍ତ ହବେେ। ସମାନେେ ଜ୍ଞାନ ଓ ବୁଦ୍ଧି ରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଚଳାଇବେ।
15and I will give you shepherds according to my heart, who shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.
16ଅନନ୍ତର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ସେ ସମୟରେ ଯେତବେେଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ବର୍ଦ୍ଧିଷ୍ଣୁ ଓ ବହୁବଂଶ ହବେ।
16It shall come to pass, when you are multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, says Yahweh, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of Yahweh; neither shall it come to mind; neither shall they remember it; neither shall they miss it; neither shall it be made any more.
17ଆଉ ସେ ସମୟରେ ଲୋକମାନେ ୟିରୁଶାଲମକୁ 'ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସିଂହାସନ' ବୋଲି କହିବେ। ସମଗ୍ର ଦେଶୀଯମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନାମ ରେ ସମ୍ମାନ ଜଣାଇବାକୁ ୟିରୁଶାଲମ ରେ ଏକତ୍ରୀତ ହବେେ। ପୁଣି ସମାନେେ ନିଜର ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣ ରେ ଦୁଷ୍ଟାଚାର ଅବାଧ୍ଯତା ଆଉ ଅନୁସରଣ କରିବେ ନାହିଁ।
17At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of Yahweh; and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of Yahweh, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the stubbornness of their evil heart.
18ସେ ସମୟରେ ଯିହୁଦା ବଂଶ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ବଂଶ ସହିତ ଏକତ୍ର ଗମନ କରିବେ। ଆଉ ସମାନେେ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଶରୁ ଏକତ୍ର ବାହାରି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷଗଣଙ୍କୁ ଅଧିକାର ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆମ୍ଭର ଦତ୍ତ ଦେଶକୁ ଆସିବେ।
18In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I gave for an inheritance to your fathers.
19ଆମ୍ଭେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହୁଛୁ, 'ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ନିଜ ସନ୍ତାନ ପରି ବ୍ଯବହାର କରିବା, ନାନା ଦେଶୀଯମାନଙ୍କର ପରମ ରତ୍ନସ୍ବରୂପ ଏକ ମନୋରମ ଦେଶ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦାନ କରିବା।' ପୁଣି ଆମ୍ଭେ କହିଲୁ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଆମ୍ଭକୁ 'ପିତା' ବୋଲି ଡ଼ାକିବ ଓ ଆମ୍ଭକୁ ସର୍ବଦା ଅନୁସରଣ କରିବ।
19But I said, How I will put you among the children, and give you a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of the nations! and I said, You shall call me My Father, and shall not turn away from following me.
20ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ଯେପରି କୌଣସି ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ନିଜ ସ୍ବାମୀ ପ୍ରତି ବିଶ୍ବାସଘାତକତା କରି ପରିତ୍ଯାଗ କରେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ସହେିପରି ଆମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରତି ବିଶ୍ବାସଘାତକତା କରିଅଛ।
20Surely as a wife treacherously departs from her husband, so have you dealt treacherously with me, house of Israel, says Yahweh.
21ବୃକ୍ଷଶୂନ୍ଯ ପାହାଡ଼ ଉପ ରେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ରୋଦନ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଶୁଣିବ। ସମାନେେ ଜାରେ ରେ ଚିତ୍କାର କରୁଛନ୍ତି, ଏବଂ କରୁଣା ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରୁଛନ୍ତି। କାରଣ ସମାନେେ କୁଟିଳ ପଥଗାମୀ ହାଇେଛନ୍ତି ଓ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କୁ ପାଶୋରି ଦଇେଛନ୍ତି।
21A voice is heard on the bare heights, the weeping and the petitions of the children of Israel; because they have perverted their way, they have forgotten Yahweh their God.
22ଆଉମଧ୍ଯ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ହେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଆମ୍ଭପ୍ରତି ଅବିଶ୍ବସ୍ତ ହାଇେଅଛ। ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଫରେିଆସ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ବିପଥଗମନରୂପୀ ରୋଗକୁ ଆରୋଗ୍ୟ କରିବା। ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ କହିବ, ହଁ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସିଅଛୁ, କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଅଟ।
22Return, you backsliding children, I will heal your backsliding. Behold, we are come to you; for you are Yahweh our God.
23ଉପପର୍ବତସମୂହ ରେ ପ୍ରତିମା ପୂଜା ନିର୍ବୋଧତା ଥିଲା। ପର୍ବତମାନଙ୍କର ଉପରିସ୍ଥ କୋଳାହଳ ଜନିତ ସମାରୋହ ବ୍ଯର୍ଥ ଥିଲେ। ମାତ୍ର ଏହା ନିଶ୍ଚିତ ଯେ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କଠା ରେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ପରିତ୍ରାଣ ଅଛି।
23Truly in vain is the help that is looked for from the hills, the tumult on the mountains: truly in Yahweh our God is the salvation of Israel.
24ମାତ୍ର ସେ ଲଜ୍ଜ୍ଯାସ୍ପଦ ବାଲ୍ ଦବେତା ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ବାଲ୍ଯକାଳରୁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପିତୃପୁରୁଷଗଣର ଶ୍ରମଫଳ, ସମାନଙ୍କେ ଗୋମଷୋଦି ପଲ, ସମାନଙ୍କେର ପୁତ୍ର ଓ କନ୍ଯାଗଣକୁ ଭକ୍ଷଣ କରିଅଛି।
24But the shameful thing has devoured the labor of our fathers from our youth, their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters.
25ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ନିଜ ଲଜ୍ଜ୍ଯା ରେ ଅବନତ ହେଉ। ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଅପମାନ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଚ୍ଛାଦନ କରୁ। କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଓ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷଗଣ ବାଲ୍ଯକାଳରୁ ଅଦ୍ଯାବଧି ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପରମେଶ୍ବର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ ପାପ କରିଅଛୁ। ଆଉ ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ ପାପ କରିଅଛୁ। ଆଉ ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ଯକୁ ଅବମାନନା କରିଅଛୁ।
25Let us lie down in our shame, and let our confusion cover us; for we have sinned against Yahweh our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even to this day; and we have not obeyed the voice of Yahweh our God.
