1
ଆଗୋ ବାବିଲର ଅନୁଢ଼ା କନ୍ଯ, ତଳକୁ ଓହ୍ଲାଇ ଆସି ଧୂଳି ରେ ବସ ; ଆଗୋ କଲଦୀଯର କନ୍ଯ, ସିଂହାସନ ଛାଡ଼ି ଭୂମିରେ ବସ। କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଆଉ କୋମଳ ଓ କୁଆଁରୀକନ୍ଯା ବୋଲି ଖ୍ଯାତ ହାଇବେ ନାହିଁ।

Come down, and sit in the dust, virgin daughter of Babylon; sit on the ground without a throne, daughter of the Chaldeans: for you shall no more be called tender and delicate.
2
ପଷେଣା ପଥର ରେ ଶସ୍ଯ ପଷେ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ଓଢ଼ଣି କାଢ଼, ତୁମ୍ଭର ଜାମା କାଢ଼ି ପକାଅ, ପାଦ ଅନାବୃତ କର। ନଦୀ ଓ େଛାଟ ନଦୀ ରେ ଚାଲିକରି ୟାଅ।

Take the millstones, and grind meal; remove your veil, strip off the train, uncover the leg, pass through the rivers.

ତୁମ୍ଭର ଉଲଙ୍ଗତା ପ୍ରକାଶିତ ହବେ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଲଜ୍ଜାର ବିଷଯ ଦୃଶ୍ଯ ହବେ ; ଆମ୍ଭେ ପ୍ରତିଶୋଧ ନଲୋ ବେଳେ କହେି ତୁମ୍ଭର ସୁରକ୍ଷା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆସିବେ ନାହିଁ।

Your nakedness shall be uncovered, yes, your shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and will spare no man.

ମାରେ ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ କୁହନ୍ତି, ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ମୁକ୍ତିଦାତା ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ଧର୍ମସ୍ବରୂପ ସର୍ବଶକ୍ତିମାନ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତାଙ୍କର ନାମ।

Our Redeemer, Yahweh of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel.

ଆଗୋ କଲଦୀଯ କନ୍ଯାଗଣ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଅନ୍ଧାରକୁ ୟାଇ ନୀରବ ରେ ବସ। କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ 'ରାଜ୍ଯର ଆଉ ରାଣୀ' ବୋଲି କଥିତ ହବେ ନାହିଁ।

Sit you silent, and get you into darkness, daughter of the Chaldeans; for you shall no more be called The mistress of kingdoms.

ଆମ୍ଭେ ନିଜ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଉପ ରେ କ୍ରୋଧିତ ହେଲୁଁ। ଆପଣା ଅଧିକାରକୁ ଅପବିତ୍ର କଲୁ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ହସ୍ତ ରେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ସମର୍ପର କଲୁ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପ୍ରତି ଦୟା ପ୍ରକାଶ କଲ ନାହିଁ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବୃଦ୍ଧଲୋକ ଉପ ରେ ୟୁଆଳି ବଡ଼ ଭାରି କରି ଥୋଇଲ।

I was angry with my people, I profaned my inheritance, and gave them into your hand: you did show them no mercy; on the aged have you very heavily laid your yoke.

ତୁମ୍ଭେ କହିଲ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଚିରଦିନ ବଞ୍ଚିଲୁ ଓ ସଦାକାଳ ସାଆନ୍ତାଣୀ ହାଇେ ରହିବୁ।' ଏଣୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏସବୁ ବିଷଯ ରେ ମନୋୟୋଗ କର ନାହିଁ କିମ୍ବା ତା'ର ଶଷଫେଳ କ'ଣ ହବେ ସ୍ମରଣ କଲ ନାହିଁ।

You said, I shall be mistress forever; so that you did not lay these things to your heart, neither did remember the latter end of it.
8
ହେ ସୁଖଭୋଗିନୀ ! ଏବେ ଏହା ଶୁଣ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ନିରାପଦ ରେ ବାସକରି ନିଜେ ନିଜେ କହୁଅଛ, 'ଆମ୍ଭେ ମହାନ୍, ଆମ୍ଭ ଛଡ଼ା ଆଉ କହେି ନାହିଁ। ଆମ୍ଭେ ବିଧବାପରି ବସିବା ନାହିଁ କିମ୍ବା ଆମ୍ଭେ ସନ୍ତାନ ବିଚ୍ଛଦେ ଜାଣିବା ନାହିଁ।'

Now therefore hear this, you who are given to pleasures, who sit securely, who say in your heart, I am, and there is none else besides me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:

ଏ ଉଭୟ ଘଟଣା ସହସା ଏକ ମୁହୂର୍ତ୍ତ ରେ ଘଟିବ। ପ୍ରଥମେ ସନ୍ତାନ ବିରହ ଓ ପ ରେ ବୈଧବ୍ଯ ତୁମ୍ଭପ୍ରତି ଘଟିବ। ତୁମ୍ଭର ଅପାର ଶକ୍ତିଶାଳୀ କୌଶଳ ଓ ମାଯାବୀତ୍ବ କିଛି ସାହାୟ୍ଯ କରିବ ନାହିଁ। ଏ ଦୁଇଟି ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ପରିମାଣ ରେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରତି ଘଟିବ।

but these two things shall come to you in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood; in their full measure shall they come on you, in the multitude of your sorceries, and the great abundance of your enchantments.
10
ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଦୁଷ୍ଟତା ଓ ମନ୍ଦକର୍ମ ଉପ ରେ ନିର୍ଭର କରି ନିଜକୁ ନିରାପଦ ମଣୁଛ ; ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଭାବୁଛ, କହେି ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଦେଖୁ ନାହିଁ ; ତୁମ୍ଭର ଜ୍ଞାନ ଓ ବିଦ୍ଯା ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ବିପଥଗାମୀ କରିଅଛି ; ତୁମ୍ଭେ ନିଜକୁ ମହାନ୍ ବୋଲି ଭାବୁଛ, ଆମ୍ଭ ଛଡ଼ା କହେି ନାହିଁ ବୋଲି କହୁଅଛ।'

For you have trusted in your wickedness; you have said, None sees me; your wisdom and your knowledge, it has perverted you, and you have said in your heart, I am, and there is none else besides me.
11
ତେଣୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରତି ଦୁର୍ଦ୍ଦଶା ଘଟିବ ; ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣିବ ନାହିଁ ଏହା କେତବେେଳେ ଘଟିବ। ତୁମ୍ଭ ଉପ ରେ ବିପଦ ପଡ଼ିବ। ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହା ଦୂର କରିପାରିବ ନାହିଁ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏତେ ଶୀଘ୍ର ବିନାଶ ହବେ, ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣିବ ନାହିଁ।

Therefore shall evil come on you; you shall not know the dawning of it: and mischief shall fall on you; you shall not be able to put it away: and desolation shall come on you suddenly, which you don't know.
12
ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ମାଯାବୀ ୟାଦୁବିଦ୍ଯା ଉପ ରେ ନିର୍ଭର କର, ଯାହା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଶିଖିବାକୁ ବହୁତ ପରିଶ୍ରମ କର। ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ସଗେୁଡ଼ିକୁ ବ୍ଯବହାର ରେ ଲଗାଇପାର କିମ୍ବା ସେଥିପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଜିତିପାର।

Stand now with your enchantments, and with the multitude of your sorceries, in which you have labored from your youth; if so be you shall be able to profit, if so be you may prevail.
13
ତୁମ୍ଭରତ ବହୁ ଉପଦେଷ୍ଟା ଅଛନ୍ତି। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣାର ଅପାର ମନ୍ତ୍ରଣା ରେ କ୍ଲାନ୍ତ ହାଇେଅଛ। ଏବେ ସହେି ଜ୍ଯୋତିଷମାନ, ନକ୍ଷତ୍ରଦର୍ଶିମାନେ, ମାସିକ ଶୁଭାଶୁଭ ଗଣନାକାରୀମାନେ ଛିଡ଼ା ହୁଅନ୍ତୁ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରତି ଯାହା ଘଟିବ, ତହିଁରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ରକ୍ଷା କରନ୍ତୁ।
13
You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels: let now the astrologers, the star-gazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save you from the things that shall come on you.
14
ସମାନେେ ତ ନିଜକୁ ରକ୍ଷା କରିପାରିବେ ନାହିଁ, ସମାନେେ କୁଟାପରି ଅଗ୍ନି ରେ ଦଗ୍ଧିଭୂତ ହବେେ। ସମାନେେ ଅଗ୍ନିଶିଖାର ବଳରୁ ନିଜକୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରିପାରିବେ ନାହିଁ। ତାହା ଏପରି ଦଗ୍ଧିଭୂତ ହବେ ଯେ କୌଣସି ଅଙ୍ଗାର ରହିବ ନାହିଁ, ଫଳ ରେ ଉଷ୍ଣ ହବୋକୁ ତାହା ରହିବ ନାହିଁ।
14
Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: it shall not be a coal to warm at, nor a fire to sit before.
15
ଯେଉଁ ବିଷଯ ପ୍ରତି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ପରିଶ୍ରମ କରିଅଛ, ସେ ସବୁ ତୁମ୍ଭପ୍ରତି ଏହିପରି ଘଟିବ। ଯେଉଁମାନେ ୟୌବନରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସହିତ ବାଣିଜ୍ଯ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ସମାନେେ ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ଭ୍ରମଣ କରି ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଯିବେ, ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ରକ୍ଷା କରିବାକୁ କହେି ରହିବେ ନାହିଁ।'
15
Thus shall the things be to you in which you have labored: those who have trafficked with you from your youth shall wander everyone to his quarter; there shall be none to save you.
