1ଯେତବେେଳେ ସହେି ମନୁଷ୍ଯ ତାଙ୍କର ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ହବାଙ୍କ ସହିତ ସହବାସ କଲେ, ସେ ଗର୍ଭବତୀ ହେଲ ଏବଂ ଏକ ପୁତ୍ରକୁ ଜନ୍ମ ଦେଲେ, ଯାହାକୁ ସେ କଯିନ କହିଲେ। ହବା କହିଲେ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସହାୟତା ରେ ମୁଁ ଏକ ମନୁଷ୍ଯ ଜନ୍ମ କରିଛି।
1The man knew Eve his wife. She conceived, and gave birth to Cain, and said, "I have gotten a man with Yahweh's help."
2ଏହାପରେ ହବା କଯିନର ଭାଇ ଏବଲଙ୍କୁ ଜନ୍ମ କଲେ। ଏବଲ ମଷେପାଳକ ଓ କଯିନ କୃଷକ ହେଲ।
2Again she gave birth, to Cain's brother Abel. Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
3କିଛି ସମୟ ପରେ, କଯିନ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ଯ ରେ ଭୂଉତ୍ପନ୍ନ ଫଳ ଆଣି ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ କଲେ
3As time passed, it happened that Cain brought an offering to Yahweh from the fruit of the ground.
4ଏବଂ ଏବଲ ନିଜର ପ୍ରଥମଜାତ ମଷେ ଆଣିଲେ ଏବଂ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ସର୍ବୋତ୍ତମ ଅଂଶ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ କଲେ।
4Abel also brought some of the firstborn of his flock and of the fat of it. Yahweh respected Abel and his offering,
5କିନ୍ତୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କଯିନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ନବୈେଦ୍ଯକୁ ଗ୍ରହଣ କଲେ ନାହିଁ। ଏଣୁ କଯିନ ବହୁତ କୋରଧ ଏବଂ ଦୁଃଖ କଲା।
5but he didn't respect Cain and his offering. Cain was very angry, and the expression on his face fell.
6ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କଯିନକୁ ପଚ଼ାରିଲେ, କାହିଁକି ତୁମ୍ଭେ କୋରଧ କରିଅଛ? ତୁମ୍ଭେ କାହିଁକି ଦୁଃଖ କରୁଛ?
6Yahweh said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why has the expression of your face fallen?
7ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯଦି ଠିକ୍ ବିଷଯ କରିବ, ତବେେ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବି। ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଭୁଲ କର ତବେେ ତାହା ପାପ ହବେ। ପାପ ଏକ ପ୍ରାଣୀପରି, ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦ୍ବାରା ସମ୍ମୁଖ ରେ ନଇଁ କରି ତୁମ୍ଭ ଉପରେ ଝାମ୍ପମାରି ଧରିବାକୁ ଅପେକ୍ଷା କରିଅଛ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ନିଶ୍ଚଯ ତା' ଉପରେ ରାଜତ୍ବ କରିବ।
7If you do well, will it not be lifted up? If you don't do well, sin crouches at the door. Its desire is for you, but you are to rule over it."
8କଯିନ ତା'ର ଭାଇ ହବେଲକୁ କହିଲା, ଚ଼ାଲ କ୍ଷତକେୁ ୟିବା। ତେଣୁ କଯିନ ଏବଂ ହବେଲ କ୍ଷତକେୁ ବାହାରି ଗଲେ। ଏହାପରେ କଯିନ ହବେଲକୁ ଆକ୍ରମଣ କରି ହତ୍ଯା କଲେ।
8Cain said to Abel, his brother, "Let's go into the field." It happened, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel, his brother, and killed him.
9ଏହାପରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କଯିନକୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ଭାଇ ହବେଲ କେଉଁଠି?
9Yahweh said to Cain, "Where is Abel, your brother?" He said, "I don't know. Am I my brother's keeper?"
10ଏହାପରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ କ'ଣ କଲ? ତୁମ୍ଭ ଭାଇର ରକ୍ତ ଭୂମିରୁ ଆମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରତି ଡ଼ାକ ପକାଉଛି।
10Yahweh said, "What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries to me from the ground.
11ଭୂମିରେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଭାଇର ରକ୍ତ ଢ଼ାଳିଲ। ସେଥିପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଅଭିଶପ୍ତ ହେଲ ଏବଂ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଭୂମିରୁ ବାହାର କରାୟିବ।
11Now you are cursed because of the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand.
12ଅତୀତ ରେ ଭୂମିରେ କୃଷିକର୍ମ କଲେ ହେଁ ତାହା ଆପଣା ଶକ୍ତି ଦଇେ ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭର ସବୋ କରିବ ନାହିଁ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଗୋଟିଏ ସ୍ଥାନରୁ ଅନ୍ୟ ଏକ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ବୁଲୁଥିବ, ପୃଥିବୀ ରେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଗୃହ ରହିବ ନାହିଁ।
12From now on, when you till the ground, it won't yield its strength to you. You shall be a fugitive and a wanderer in the earth."
13ଏହାପରେ କଯିନ କହିଲା, ମାରଦେଣ୍ଡ ଅସହ୍ଯ!
13Cain said to Yahweh, "My punishment is greater than I can bear.
14ଆଜି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମାେତେ ଭୂମିରୁ ତଡ଼ି ଦଲେ, ତହିଁରେ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭଠାରୁ ଲୁକାଯିତ ହବେି। ମୁଁ ଏକ ପଳାତକ ଓ ପୃଥିବୀ ରେ ଭ୍ରମଣକାରୀ ହବେି। ଏପରି ହବେ ଯେ କୌଣସି ଲୋକ ମାେତେ ପାଇଲେ ବଧ କରିବ।
14Behold, you have driven me out this day from the surface of the ground. I will be hidden from your face, and I will be a fugitive and a wanderer in the earth. It will happen that whoever finds me will kill me."
15ଏହାପରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କଯିନକୁ କହିଲେ, ମୁଁ ଏପରି ଘଟିବାକୁ ଦବେି ନାହିଁ! ଯଦି କୌଣସି ଲୋକ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ହତ୍ଯା କରେ ତବେେ ମୁଁ ତାକୁ ଅଧିକରୁ ଅଧିକ ଦଣ୍ଡ ବିଧାନ କରିବି। ଏହାପରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବର କଯିନଙ୍କୁ ଏକ ଚି଼ହ୍ନଟ ଦେଲେ। ଚ଼ିହ୍ନଟି ଦର୍ଶାଇଲା ଯେ, କହେି ତାକୁ ମାରିବା ଉଚ଼ିତ୍ ନୁହେଁ।
15Yahweh said to him, "Therefore whoever slays Cain, vengeance will be taken on him sevenfold." Yahweh appointed a sign for Cain, lest any finding him should strike him.
16ଏହାପରେ କଯିନ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ସମ୍ମୁଖରୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ଥାନ କରି ଏଦନର ପୂର୍ବଦିଗସ୍ଥ ନୋଦ ନାମକ ଦେଶ ରେ ବାସ କଲେ।
16Cain went out from Yahweh's presence, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.
17କଯିନ ତା'ର ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ସହିତ ସହବାସ କଲା। ଏହାପରେ ସେ ଗର୍ଭବତୀ ହାଇେ ଏକ ସନ୍ତାନ ଜନ୍ମ କଲା ଯାହାର ନାମ ଥିଲା ହନୋକ। କଯିନ ତା'ର ପୁତ୍ର ନାମ ଅନୁସାରେ ଏକ ନଗର ନିର୍ମାଣ କଲା ଓ ତା'ର ନାମ ଦଲୋ ହନୋକ।
17Cain knew his wife. She conceived, and gave birth to Enoch. He built a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.
18ହନୋକର ଏକ ପୁତ୍ର ଥିଲା ଯାହାର ନାମ ଈରଦ। ଈରଦର ଏକ ପୁତ୍ର ଥିଲା ଯାହାର ନାମ ମହୁଯାଯଲେ। ମହୁଯାଯଲରେ ଏକ ପୁତ୍ର ଥିଲା ଯାହାର ନାମ ମଥୁଶାଯଲେ ଓ ମଥୁଶାଯଲରେ ଏକ ପୁତ୍ର ଥିଲା ଯାହାର ନାମ ଲମେକ।
18To Enoch was born Irad. Irad became the father of Mehujael. Mehujael became the father of Methushael. Methushael became the father of Lamech.
19ଲମେକ ଦୁଇଟି ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ବିବାହ କଲେ, ଜଣଙ୍କର ନାମ ଆଦା ଓ ଅନ୍ୟ ଜଣଙ୍କର ନାମ ଥିଲା ସିଲ୍ଲା।
19Lamech took two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah.
20ଆଦା ଜାବଳକୁ ଜନ୍ମ ଦଲୋ, ସେ ତମ୍ବୁ ନିବାସୀ ପଶୁପାଳମାନଙ୍କର ଆଦିପୁରୁଷ ଥିଲା ଓ ସମାନେେ ଗୋରୁଗାଇ ଚ଼ରାଇ ଜୀବିକା ନିର୍ବାହ କରୁଥିଲେ।
20Adah gave birth to Jabal, who was the father of those who dwell in tents and have cattle.
21ଜାବଳ ଭାଇର ନାମ ଥିଲା ୟୁବଳ। ସେ ବୀଣା ଓ ବଂଶୀବାଦକମାନଙ୍କର ଆଦିପୁରୁଷ ଥିଲା।
21His brother's name was Jubal, who was the father of all who handle the harp and pipe.
22ସିଲ୍ଲାର ଗର୍ଭରୁ ତୁବଲ-କଯିନ ଜନ୍ମ ହେଲା। ସେ ପିତ୍ତଳ ଓ ଲୌହର ନାନାପ୍ରକାର ଅସ୍ତ୍ର ନିର୍ମାଣକାରୀ ଥିଲା। ତୁବଲ-କଯିନର ନଯମା ନାମ୍ନୀ ଏକ ଭଉଣୀ ଥିଲା।
22Zillah also gave birth to Tubal Cain, the forger of every cutting instrument of brass and iron. Tubal Cain's sister was Naamah.
23ଲମେକ ତା'ର ସ୍ତ୍ରୀକୁ କହିଲା, ହେ ଆଦା ଓ ସିଲ୍ଲା, ମାେ କଥା ଶୁଣ! ହେ ଲମେକର ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଗଣ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେ ମାେ କଥା ଶୁଣ ଜଣେ ଲୋକ ମାେତେ ଆଘାତ ଦଲୋ ତେଣୁ ମୁଁ ତାକୁ ମାରିଦଲେି। ଜଣେ ଶିଶୁ ମାେତେ ପ୍ରହାର କଲା ତେଣୁ ମୁଁ ତାକୁ ମାରିଦଲେି।
23Lamech said to his wives, "Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice, You wives of Lamech, listen to my speech, For I have slain a man for wounding me, A young man for bruising me.
24ଯବେେ କଯିନର ହତ୍ଯାର ପ୍ରତି ଶାଧେ ବହୁତ ହବେ। ତବେେ ମାେତେ ହତ୍ଯା କରିବାର ଦଣ୍ଡ ତା'ଠାରୁ ଅନକେ ଗୁଣ ରେ କଠାେର ହବେ।
24If Cain will be avenged seven times, Truly Lamech seventy-seven times."
25ଆଦମ ପୁନର୍ବାର ତା'ର ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ହବା ସହିତ ସହବାସ କଲା ଏବଂ ପୁଣି ସେ ଅନ୍ୟ ଏକ ପୁତ୍ର ସନ୍ତାନ ପ୍ରସବ କଲା, ଏବଂ ତାକୁ ଶେଥ ବୋଲି ଡ଼ାକିଲା। ହବା କହିଲେ, ପରମେଶ୍ବର ହବେଲର ପ୍ରତି ବଦଳ ରେ ଆଉ ଗୋଟିଏ ପୁତ୍ର ଦଇେଛନ୍ତି, କାରଣ କଯିନ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ହତ୍ଯା କଲା।
25Adam knew his wife again. She gave birth to a son, and named him Seth. For, she said, "God has appointed me another child instead of Abel, for Cain killed him."
26ଶେଥର ଏକ ପୁତ୍ର ଥିଲା, ସେ ତା'ର ନାମ ଦଇେଥିଲେ ଈନୋଶ। ଏହି ସମୟରେ ମନୁଷ୍ଯମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରିବାକୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ କଲେ।
26There was also born a son to Seth, and he named him Enosh. Then men began to call on Yahweh's name.
