1ଏଜ୍ରା ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଗୃହ ସମ୍ମୁଖ ରେ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରୁଥିଲେ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ଦୋଷ ସ୍ବୀକାର କରୁଥିଲେ। ଏହି ସମୟରେ ସେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ମନ୍ଦିର ସମ୍ମୁଖ ରେ ନତମସ୍ତକ ହାଇେ କ୍ରନ୍ଦନ କରୁଥିଲେ। ଏଜ୍ରା ଏପରି କରୁଥିବା ସମୟରେ ଦଳେ ଲୋକ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ପୁରୁଷମାନେ, ସ୍ତ୍ରୀମାନେ ଓ ପିଲାମାନେ ତାଙ୍କ ଚତୁଃପାଶର୍‌ବ ରେ ଘରେି ରହିଥିଲେ। ସହେି ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲୀୟମାନେ ମଧ୍ଯ ଅତିଶଯ କ୍ରନ୍ଦନ କରୁଥିଲେ।
1Now while Ezra prayed and made confession, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there was gathered together to him out of Israel a very great assembly of men and women and children; for the people wept very sore.
2ଏହାପରେ ଏଲାମର ବଂଶଧରମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ୟିହୀଯଲରେ ପୁତ୍ର ଶଖନିଯ ଏଜ୍ରାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଆମ୍ଭର ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କୁ ବିଶ୍ବାସଘାତ କରୁଛୁ। ଆମ୍ଭେ ଅନ୍ୟ ଦେଶୀଯମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିବାହ କରିଛୁ। କିନ୍ତୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଏପରି କଲେ ମଧ୍ଯ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଭରସା ଅଛି।
2Shecaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have married foreign women of the peoples of the land: yet now there is hope for Israel concerning this thing.
3ଏବେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଆମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଓ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଆଜ୍ଞା ରେ କମ୍ପିତ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ମନ୍ତ୍ରଣାନୁସା ରେ ଏହିସବୁ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଏମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଜାତ ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦୂର କରିଦବୋ ପାଇଁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଚୁକ୍ତି କରିବା ଏବଂ ଏହା ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥାନୁସା ରେ କରାଯାଉ।
3Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those who tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law.
4ହେ ଏଜ୍ରା, ଉଠନ୍ତୁ, କାରଣ ଏହା ତୁମ୍ଭ ଉପରେ ଏହି କାର୍ୟ୍ଯର ଭାର ଅଛି, ତେଣୁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ସାହାୟ୍ଯ କରିବୁ। ସାହସିକ ହାଇେ ଏହି କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ କରନ୍ତୁ।
4Arise; for the matter belongs to you, and we are with you: be of good courage, and do it.
5ତେଣୁ ଏଜ୍ରା ଉଠିଲେ। ସହେି ବାକ୍ଯ ଅନୁସାରେ କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଯାଜକମାନଙ୍କର, ଲବେୀୟମାନଙ୍କର ଓ ସମଗ୍ର ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ପ୍ରଧାନବର୍ଗ ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା କରାଇଲେ।
5Then arose Ezra, and made the chiefs of the priests, the Levites, and all Israel, to swear that they would do according to this word. So they swore.
6ଏହାପରେ ଏଜ୍ରା ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଗୃହ ସମ୍ମୁଖରୁ ଉଠିଗଲେ। ଏହାପରେ ଇଲିଯାଶୀବର ପୁତ୍ର ୟିହୋହାନନର କୋଠରୀକୁ ଗଲେ। ଏଜ୍ରା ସଠାେରେ ରହିବା ସମୟରେ ସେ କୌଣସି ଖାଦ୍ୟ ଖାଇ ନଥିଲେ, କି ଜଳପାନ କରିନଥିଲେ। ସେ ଏପରି କରିଥିଲେ କାରଣ ସେ ବହୁତ ଦୁଃଖିତ ଥିଲେ। ସେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲମାନଙ୍କ ପାପ ପାଇଁ ବହୁତ ଦୁଃଖିତ ଥିଲେ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ୟିରୁଶାଲମକୁ ଫରେି ଆସିଥିଲେ।
6Then Ezra rose up from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Jehohanan the son of Eliashib: and when he came there, he ate no bread, nor drink water; for he mourned because of the trespass of them of the captivity.
7ଏହାପରେ ସେ ଯିହୁଦା ଓ ୟିରୁଶାଲମର ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରକୁ ଖବର ପଠାଇଲେ। ଏବଂ ସେ ସହେି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ବନ୍ଦୀତ୍ବରୁ ଫରେି ଆସିଥିଲେ, ସମାନଙ୍କେ ନିକଟରେ ଘାଷେଣା କରି କହିଲେ, ସମାନେେ ୟିରୁଶାଲମ ରେ ଏକତ୍ରୀତ ହବେେ।
7They made proclamation throughout Judah and Jerusalem to all the children of the captivity, that they should gather themselves together to Jerusalem;
8ଯଦି କୌଣସି ଲୋକ ତିନି ଦିନ ମଧିଅରେ ୟିରୁଶାଲମକୁ ନ ଆସିବ, ତବେେ ତାର ସମସ୍ତ ସମ୍ପତ୍ତି ହରଣ କରାୟିବ। ଏହି ନିଷ୍ପତ୍ତି ଅଧିପତିମାନେ ଓ ପ୍ରାଚୀନବର୍ଗମାନେ ନଇେଥିଲେ ଓ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ମଧ୍ଯ ବନ୍ଦୀତ୍ବର ସମାଜରୁ ପୃଥକ କରାୟିବ।
8and that whoever didn't come within three days, according to the counsel of the princes and the elders, all his substance should be forfeited, and himself separated from the assembly of the captivity.
9ତେଣୁ ଯିହୁଦା ଓ ବିନ୍ଯାମିନର ସମଗ୍ର ଲୋକ ତିନିଦିନ ମଧିଅରେ ୟିରୁଶାଲମ ରେ ଏକତ୍ରୀତ ହେଲ। ସହେିଦିନ ନବମ ମାସର ବିଂଶତିତମ ଦିନ ଥିଲା। ଆଉ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଗୃହର ସମ୍ମୁଖସ୍ଥ ଛକରେ ବସି ଉକ୍ତ ବିଷଯ ଓ ମହାବୃଷ୍ଟି ସକାଶୁ କମ୍ପିତ ହୋଉଥିଲେ।
9Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves together to Jerusalem within the three days; it was the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month: and all the people sat in the broad place before the house of God, trembling because of this matter, and for the great rain.
10ଏହାପରେ ଯାଜକ ଏଜ୍ରା ଠିଆ ହାଇେ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଅବିଶ୍ବସ୍ତ ହାଇେଅଛ ଓ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ଦୋଷ ବଢାଇଅଛ, କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଅଣ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲୀୟ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିବାହ କରିଅଛ।
10Ezra the priest stood up, and said to them, You have trespassed, and have married foreign women, to increase the guilt of Israel.
11ଏଣୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ପିତୃଗଣର ପରମେଶ୍ବର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ପ୍ରକାଶ କର। ତାଙ୍କର ତୁଷ୍ଟିଜନକ କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ କର। ଦେଶସ୍ଥ ଅନ୍ୟ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀଯମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଓ ଅନ୍ୟ ଦେଶୀଯା ସ୍ତ୍ରୀମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କୁ ପୃଥକ କର।
11Now therefore make confession to Yahweh, the God of your fathers, and do his pleasure; and separate yourselves from the peoples of the land, and from the foreign women.
12ଏହାପରେ ସମଗ୍ର ସମାଜ ଏକତ୍ରୀତ ହାଇେ ଏଜ୍ରାଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦଇେ କହିଲେ, ହେ ଏଜ୍ରା, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଠିକ୍ କହିଛ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆମ୍ଭକୁ ଯାହା କହିଲ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଠିକ୍ ସହେିପରି କରିବୁ।
12Then all the assembly answered with a loud voice, As you have said concerning us, so must we do.
13କିନ୍ତୁ ଏଠା ରେ ବହୁତ ଲୋକ ଅଛନ୍ତି ଏବଂ ଏହା ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ବୃଷ୍ଟିର ସମୟ। ଆଉ ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ବାହା ରେ ଠିଆ ହବୋ ଅସମ୍ଭବ। ଏବଂ ଏହା ଅଳ୍ପ ଦିନର କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ ନୁହେଁ, ଯେ ହତେୁ ଏହି ବିଷଯ ରେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ମହା ଅପରାଧ କରିଅଛୁ।
13But the people are many, and it is a time of much rain, and we are not able to stand outside: neither is this a work of one day or two; for we have greatly transgressed in this matter.
14ଏଣୁ ସମଗ୍ର ସମାଜ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଅଧିପତିମାନେ ନିୟୁକ୍ତ ହୁଅନ୍ତୁ। ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକମାନେ ଅଣ-ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲୀୟ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିବାହ କରିଛନ୍ତି, ସମାନେେ ସମସ୍ତେ ନିରୁପିତ ସମୟରେ ଆସନ୍ତୁ ଓ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ସଙ୍ଗେ ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ନଗରର ପ୍ରାଚୀନଗଣ ଓ ବିଗ୍ଭର କର୍ତ୍ତାଗଣ ଆସନ୍ତୁ। ଆମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କର କୋରଧ ଯେପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ଅତିକ୍ରମ ନ ହାଇେଛି ଏହି କାରଣ ଯୋଗୁଁ ଏହି ବିଷଯ ଗ୍ରହଣୀଯ ହବେ ନାହିଁ।
14Let now our princes be appointed for all the assembly, and let all those who are in our cities who have married foreign women come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges of it, until the fierce wrath of our God be turned from us, until this matter be dispatched.
15ଏହି କଥା ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ କବଳେ ଆସା ହେଲର ପୁତ୍ର ଯୋନାଥନ ଓ ତିକ୍ବର ପୁତ୍ର ୟହସିଯ ଉଠିଲେ। ଆଉ ମସୁଲମ୍ ଓ ଲବେୀୟ ଶଦ୍ଦଥଯ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ସାହାୟ୍ଯ କଲେ।
15Only Jonathan the son of Asahel and Jahzeiah the son of Tikvah stood up against this matter: and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite helped them.
16ମାତ୍ର ବନ୍ଦୀତ୍ବରୁ ସନ୍ତାନମାନେ ସହେିପରି କର୍ମ କଲେ। ପୁଣି ଯାଜକ ଏଜ୍ରା ସଇେ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ବାଛିଲେ, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ପରିବାରର ମୁଖ୍ଯ ଥିଲେ। ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ପରିବାରରୁ ଜଣେ ଲଖାେଁଏ ବଛାଗଲେ। ଆଉ ସମାନେେ ଦଶମ ମାସର ପ୍ରଥମ ଦିନ ସହେି ବିଷଯ ଅନୁସନ୍ଧାନ କରିବାକୁ ବସିଲେ।
16The children of the captivity did so. Ezra the priest, with certain heads of fathers' houses, after their fathers' houses, and all of them by their names, were set apart; and they sat down in the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.
17ପୁଣି ସମାନେେ ପ୍ରଥମ ମାସର ପ୍ରଥମ ଦିନ ରେ ଅନ୍ୟ ଦେଶୀଯା ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ବିବାହକାରୀ ପୁରୁଷ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କର ବିଗ୍ଭର ସମାପ୍ତ କଲେ।
17They made an end with all the men who had married foreign women by the first day of the first month.
18ଯାଜକମାନଙ୍କ ବଂଶଗଣ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଅନ୍ୟ ଦେଶୀଯା ସ୍ତ୍ରୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିବାହ କରିଥିଲେ, ସମାନେେ ହେଲ ଯଥା:
18Among the sons of the priests there were found who had married foreign women: namely, of the sons of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and his brothers, Maaseiah, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gedaliah.
19ଏମାନେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ସ୍ତ୍ରୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦୂର କରି ଦବେେ ବୋଲି କଥା ଦେଲେ। ଆଉ ଦୋଷୀ ହବୋରୁ ସମାନେେ ନିଜ ନିଜର ଦୋଷ ସକାେଶ ପଲରୁ ଏକ ଏକ ମଷେ ଦୋଷାର୍ଥକବଳି ରୂପେ ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ କଲେ।
19They gave their hand that they would put away their wives; and being guilty, they offered a ram of the flock for their guilt.
20ଆଉ ଇମ୍ମରରେ ବଂଶଧରମାନଙ୍କୁ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ହନାନି ଓ ସବଦିଯ।
20Of the sons of Immer: Hanani and Zebadiah.
21ହାରିମର ବଂଶଧରମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ମା ସଯେ ଓ ଏଲୀଯ ଓ ଶମଯିଯ ୟିହୀଯଲେ ଓ ଉଷିୟ।
21Of the sons of Harim: Maaseiah, and Elijah, and Shemaiah, and Jehiel, and Uzziah.
22ପଶହୂରର ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କର ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ଇଲଯୋ-ଐନଯ, ମା ସଯେ, ଇଶ୍ମାଯଲେ, ନଥନଲେ, ୟୋଷାବଦ୍ ଓ ଇଲିଯାସା,
22Of the sons of Pashhur: Elioenai, Maaseiah, Ishmael, Nethanel, Jozabad, and Elasah.
23ଆଉ ଲବେୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ୟୋଷାବଦ୍, ଶିମିଯି ଓ କଲାଯ, ଏହାକୁ କଲିଟ୍ କହନ୍ତି, ପଥାହିଯ, ଯିହୁଦା ଓ ଇଲୀଯଷେର,
23Of the Levites: Jozabad, and Shimei, and Kelaiah (the same is Kelita), Pethahiah, Judah, and Eliezer.
24ଗାଯକମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ଇଲୀଯାଶୀବ୍, ଦ୍ବାରପାଳକମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ଶଲ୍ଲୁମ୍ ଓ ଟଲେମ୍ ଓ ଊରି।
24Of the singers: Eliashib. Of the porters: Shallum, and Telem, and Uri.
25ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ମଧିଅରେ
25Of Israel: Of the sons of Parosh: Ramiah, and Izziah, and Malchijah, and Mijamin, and Eleazar, and Malchijah, and Benaiah.
26ଏଲମର ବଂଶଧରଗଣ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ମତ୍ତନିଯ, ଜିଖରିଯ, ୟିହୀଯଲେ ଅବ୍ଦି, ଯିରମୋେତ୍ ଓ ଏଲୀଯ।
26Of the sons of Elam: Mattaniah, Zechariah, and Jehiel, and Abdi, and Jeremoth, and Elijah.
27ସତ୍ତୁର ବଂଶଧରଗଣ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ଇଲିଯୋ-ଐନଯ, ଇଲୀଯାଶୀବ୍ ଓ ମତ୍ତନିଯ, ଯିରମୋେତ୍, ୟାବତ୍ ଓ ଅସୀସା।
27Of the sons of Zattu: Elioenai, Eliashib, Mattaniah, and Jeremoth, and Zabad, and Aziza.
28ବବଯରେ ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ଯିହାହୋନନ୍, ହବାନିଯ, ସଜଯ ଓ ଅତ୍ତଲଯ।
28Of the sons of Bebai: Jehohanan, Hananiah, Zabbai, Athlai.
29ଆଉ ବାନିର ବଂଶଧରଗଣ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ମଶୁଲ୍ଲମ୍, ମଲ୍ଲକ ଓ ଅଦାଯା, ଯାଶୂବ୍, ଶାଲ ଓ ଯି ରମୋେତ୍।
29Of the sons of Bani: Meshullam, Malluch, and Adaiah, Jashub, and Sheal, Jeremoth.
30ଆଉ ପହତ୍ ମାୟୋବର ବଂଶଧରଗଣ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ଅଦନ ଓ କଲାଲ୍, ବନାଯ, ମା ସଯେ, ମତ୍ତିନିଯ, ବତ୍ସଲଲେ ଓ ବିନ୍ନୁଯୀ ଓ ମନଶି।
30Of the sons of Pahath-moab: Adna, and Chelal, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattaniah, Bezalel, and Binnui, and Manasseh.
31ହାରିମର ବଂଶଧରଗଣ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ଇଲୀଯଷେର, ୟିଶିଯ, ମଲ୍ଲିଯ, ଶମଯିଯ,ଶିମିଯୋନ,
31of the sons of Harim: Eliezer, Isshijah, Malchijah, Shemaiah, Shimeon,
32ବିନ୍ଯାମୀନ, ମଲ୍ଲୂକ, ଶମରିଯ,
32Benjamin, Malluch, Shemariah.
33ହଶୂମର ବଂଶଧରଗଣ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ମତ୍ତନଯ ମତ୍ତତ୍ତ, ସାବଦ୍, ଇଲିଫଲେଟ୍, ୟି ରମେଯ, ମନଃଶି, ଶିମିଯି।
33Of the sons of Hashum: Mattenai, Mattattah, Zabad, Eliphelet, Jeremai, Manasseh, Shimei.
34ବାନିର ବଂଶଧରଗଣ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ମାଦଯ, ଅମ୍ରାମ ଓ ଉଯଲେ,
34Of the sons of Bani: Maadai, Amram, and Uel,
35ବନାଯ, ବଦେିଯା, କଲୂହ,
35Benaiah, Bedeiah, Cheluhi,
36ବନିଯ, ମରମୋେତ୍, ଇଲୀଯାଶୀବ୍,
36Vaniah, Meremoth, Eliashib,
37ମତ୍ତନିଯ, ମତ୍ତନଯ ଓ ୟାଶଯ।
37Mattaniah, Mattenai, and Jaasu,
38ଏବଂ ବିନ୍ନୁଯି, ଶିମିଯିର ଭବିଷ୍ଯତ୍ ବଂଶଧର ମଧ୍ଯରୁ
38and Bani, and Binnui, Shimei,
39ଶଲେିମିଯ, ନାଥନ୍ ଓ ଅଦାଯା,
39and Shelemiah, and Nathan, and Adaiah,
40ମଗ୍ନଦହବଯ, ଶାଶଯ, ଶାରଯ,
40Machnadebai, Shashai, Sharai,
41ଅସ ରେଲ, ଶଲେିମିଯ, ଶମରିଯ,
41Azarel, and Shelemiah, Shemariah,
42ଶଲ୍ଲୁମ୍, ଅମରିଯ ଓ ଯୋଷେଫ୍।
42Shallum, Amariah, Joseph.
43ନବୋର ବଂଶଧରଗଣ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ୟିଯଯଲେ, ମତ୍ତଥିଯ, ସାବଦ୍, ସବୀନଃ, ଇଦୋ, ୟୋଯଲ ଓ ବନାଯ।
43Of the sons of Nebo: Jeiel, Mattithiah, Zabad, Zebina, Iddo, and Joel, Benaiah.
44ଏସମସ୍ତ, ଲୋକମାନେ ଅଣ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲୀୟ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିବାହ କରିଥିଲେ। ଆଉ ସମାନେେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ବିଦେଶୀନି ସ୍ତ୍ରୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ପଠଇେ ଦେଲେ।
44All these had taken foreign wives; and some of them had wives by whom they had children.
