ମିଶର ଦେଶରୁ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲୀୟମାନେ ବାହରି ତୃତୀୟ ମାସର ପ୍ରଥମ ଦିନ ରେ ଆସି ସୀନଯ ମରୁଭୂମିରେ ପହନ୍ଚିଲେ।

In the third month after the children of Israel had gone forth out of the land of Egypt, on that same day they came into the wilderness of Sinai.

ସମାନେେ ରଫୀଦୀମଠାରୁ ୟାଇ ସୀନଯ ମରୁଭୂମିରେ ପହଁଞ୍ଚିଲେ ଓ ସମାନେେ ପର୍ବତ ନିକଟସ୍ଥ ମରୁଭୂମିରେ ଛାଉଣୀ ସ୍ଥାପନ କଲେ।

When they had departed from Rephidim, and had come to the wilderness of Sinai, they encamped in the wilderness; and there Israel encamped before the mountain.

ଏହାପରେ ମାଶାେ ଉପରକୁ ଚଢି ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଗଲେ। ପରମେଶ୍ବର ତାଙ୍କୁ ପର୍ବତ ଶିଖରରୁ ଡାକିଲେ ଏବଂ ତାକୁ କହିଲେ, ଏହି ସୂଚନା ଯାକୁବର ପରିବାର ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦିଅ।

Moses went up to God, and Yahweh called to him out of the mountain, saying, "This is what you shall tell the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel:

ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଦେଖିଛ ମୁଁ ମିଶର ବାସୀମାନଙ୍କର ଯାହା କରିଛି। ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଦେଖିଛ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ କିପରି ମିଶରରୁ ବାଜପକ୍ଷୀ ସଦୃଶ ଉଠାଇ ମାେ ପାଖକୁ ଆଣିଲି।

'You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings, and brought you to myself.
5
ତେଣୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ମାରେ ଆଜ୍ଞା ମାନିବା ପାଇଁ କୁହ। ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ମାରେ ନିଯମ ପାଳନ କରିବାକୁ ଦିଅ। ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏପରି କର, ତବେେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ମାରେ ଆପଣାର ରତ୍ନଭଣ୍ଡାର ହାଇେ ରହିବ ଯେ ହତେୁ ସମଗ୍ର ପୃଥିବୀ ମାରେ।

Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice, and keep my covenant, then you shall be my own possession from among all peoples; for all the earth is mine;
6
ମାେ ପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଯାଜକମାନଙ୍କର ଏକ ରାଜ୍ଯ ଏବଂ ପବିତ୍ର ରାଷ୍ଟ୍ର ହବେ।' ମାଶାେ, ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ କଥା ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ କୁହ।

and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation.' These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel."

ତେଣୁ ମାଶାେ ଗଲେ ଓ ସମସ୍ତ ପ୍ରାଚୀନବର୍ଗମାନଙ୍କୁ ଡାକି ଏକତ୍ର କରାଇଲେ। ମାଶାେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କର ଆଜ୍ଞା ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ।

Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and set before them all these words which Yahweh commanded him.
8
ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକେ ଏକ ସମୟରେ କହିଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ସମସ୍ତ ଆଜ୍ଞା ମାନିବୁ।

All the people answered together, and said, "All that Yahweh has spoken we will do." Moses reported the words of the people to Yahweh.
9
ଏବଂ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମାଶାଙ୍କେୁ କହିଲେ, ମୁଁ ନିବିଡ ମେଘ ରେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ନକଟକୁ ଆସିବି। ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଏକଥା କହିବି ଯେପରି ସମସ୍ତେ ଶୁଣିପାରିବେ। ମୁଁ ଏପରି କରିବି କାରଣ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଉପରେ ବିଶ୍ବାସ ରଖିବେ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଯାହା କହିବ ସମାନେେ ତାହା ବିଶ୍ବାସ କରିବେ।

Yahweh said to Moses, "Behold, I come to you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and may also believe you forever." Moses told the words of the people to Yahweh.

ଏବଂ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମାଶାଙ୍କେୁ କହିଲେ, ଆଜି ଏବଂ ଆସନ୍ତା କାଲି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏକ ବିଶଷେ ସଭାର ଆଯୋଜନ କର। ଲୋକମାନେ ସମସ୍ତେ ତାଙ୍କର ବସ୍ତ୍ର ଧୌତ କରି ପିନ୍ଧିବେ।

Yahweh said to Moses, "Go to the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments,

ଏବଂ ତୃତୀୟ ଦିନ ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ ହାଇେ ରହିବେ କାରଣ ଏହି ଦିନ ଆମ୍ଭେ ସୀନଯ ପର୍ବତ ଉପରକୁ ଓହ୍ଲାଇ ଆସିବୁ। ଏବଂ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକେ ମାେତେ ଦେଖି ପାରିବେ।

and be ready against the third day; for on the third day Yahweh will come down in the sight of all the people on Mount Sinai.

କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦୂ ରଇେ ରହିବା ପାଇଁ କୁହ। ଏକ ସୀମା ନିର୍ଦ୍ଧାରଣ କର, ସହେି ସୀମାକୁ ଯେପରି କହେି ସ୍ପର୍ଶ କରି ପାରିବ ନାହିଁ। ପଶୁ ହେଉ କି ମନୁଷ୍ଯ ହେଉ ୟିଏ ପର୍ବତ ସ୍ପର୍ଶ କରିବ ସେ ମରିବ।

You shall set bounds to the people round about, saying, 'Be careful that you don't go up onto the mountain, or touch its border. Whoever touches the mountain shall be surely put to death.
13
କିଏ ପଥର ଛଚୋ ରେ ମରିବ ତ କିଏ ବାଣ ଦ୍ବାରା ମରିବ। କିନ୍ତୁ କହେି ଏହି ବ୍ଯକ୍ତିକୁ ହତ୍ଯା କରି ପାରିବେ ନାହିଁ। ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏହିପରି ତୂରୀ ବାଜୀବା ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ଅପେକ୍ଷା କରିବାକୁ ପଡିବ। ଏହାପରେ ସମାନେେ ପର୍ବତ ଉପରକୁ ୟାଇ ପାରିବେ।

No hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned or shot through; whether it is animal or man, he shall not live.' When the trumpet sounds long, they shall come up to the mountain."
14
ତେଣୁ ମାଶାେ ପର୍ବତରୁ ଓହ୍ଲାଇ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଗଲେ, ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ବସ୍ତ୍ର ଧୌତ କରି ନିଜକୁ ପବିତ୍ର କଲେ।

Moses went down from the mountain to the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes.
15
ଏହାପରେ ମାଶାେ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ତୃତୀୟ ଦିନ ରେ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ ହୁଅ। ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ସଂସ୍ପର୍ଶ ରେ ଆସିବ ନାହିଁ।

He said to the people, "Be ready by the third day. Don't have sexual relations with a woman."
16
ତୃତୀୟ ଦିନ ପ୍ରଭାତ ରେ ଏକ ଘନ ମେଘ ପର୍ବତକୁ ସ୍ପର୍ଶ କଲା। ଘଡଘଡି, ବିଜୁଳି ଏବଂ ଏକ ଗମ୍ଭୀର ଶିଙ୍ଗା ଧ୍ବନି ଶୁଣାଗଲା। ଛାଉଣୀର ଲୋକମାନେ ଭୟଭୀତ ହାଇଗେଲେ।

It happened on the third day, when it was morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain, and the sound of an exceedingly loud trumpet; and all the people who were in the camp trembled.
17
ଏହାପରେ ମାଶାେ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଛାଉଣୀରୁ ବାହାର କରି ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କର ସାକ୍ଷାତ ପାଇଁ ପର୍ବତର ପାଦଦେଶକୁ ଆଣିଲେ।

Moses led the people out of the camp to meet God; and they stood at the lower part of the mountain.
18
ସୀନଯ ପର୍ବତ ଧୂଆଁ ରେ ପରିପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଥିଲା। ଚିମିନିରୁ ଧୁଆଁ ବାହାରିଲା ପରି ପର୍ବତରୁ ଧୂଆଁ ବାହରୁଥିଲା। ଏପରି ଘଟିଲା କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଅଗ୍ନି ବାହନ ରେ ପର୍ବତ ରେ ଅବତରଣ କରିଥିଲେ। ପର୍ବତଟି କମ୍ପନ କରିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲା।

Mount Sinai, the whole of it, smoked, because Yahweh descended on it in fire; and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly.
19
ତୂରୀ ଧ୍ବନି ଅଧିକରୁ ଅଧିକ ଶବ୍ଦ ରେ ଶୁଭିଲା। ମାଶାେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କୁ ୟୋକୌଣସି ପ୍ରଶ୍ନ କଲେ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ଥର ବଜ୍ର ସ୍ବର ରେ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ।

When the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice.
20
ଏହାପରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ପର୍ବତ ଉପରେ ଅବତରଣ କଲାପରେ ସେ ମାଶାଙ୍କେୁ ପର୍ବତ ଉପରକୁ ଡାକିଲେ। ତେଣୁ ମାଶାେ ପର୍ବତ ଉପରକୁ ଚଢି଼ଲେ।

Yahweh came down on Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain. Yahweh called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.
21
ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମାଶାଙ୍କେୁ କହିଲେ, ତଳକୁ ୟାଇ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ସତର୍କ କରାଇ ଦିଅ ଯେ ସମାନେେ ମାେ ଆଡକୁ ଚାହିଁବେ ନାହିଁ କି ମାେ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସିବେ ନାହିଁ, ଯଦି କିଏ ଅମାନ୍ଯ କରେ ତବେେ ସେ ମରିବ।

Yahweh said to Moses, "Go down, charge the people, lest they break through to Yahweh to gaze, and many of them perish.
22
ଯେଉଁ ଯାଜକମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ନିକଟବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ହାଇେଥାନ୍ତି, ସମାନେେ ହିଁ ନିଜ ନିଜକୁ ପବିତ୍ର କରାନ୍ତୁ। ନ ହେଲ ସମାନେେ ଦଣ୍ଡ ଭୋଗ କରିବେ।

Let the priests also, who come near to Yahweh, sanctify themselves, lest Yahweh break forth on them."

ତହିଁରେ ମାଶାେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଲୋକମାନେ ସୀନଯ ପର୍ବତକୁ ଆସି ପାରିବେ ନାହିଁ। କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଦୃଢ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦଇେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଛ ଯେ, ପର୍ବତର ସୀମା ନିରୂପଣ କର ଓ ତାହା ପବିତ୍ର କର।

Moses said to Yahweh, "The people can't come up to Mount Sinai, for you charged us, saying, 'Set bounds around the mountain, and sanctify it.'"
24
ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମାଶାଙ୍କେୁ କହିଲେ, ଓହ୍ଲାଇ ୟାଅ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ହାରୋଣ ସହିତ ଆରୋହଣ କରିବ। ମାତ୍ର ଦେଖ, ଯାଜକଗଣ ଓ ଲୋକମାନେ ଯେପରି ସୀମା ଅତିକ୍ରମ ନକରନ୍ତି, ନ ହେଲ ମୁଁ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଦଣ୍ଡ ଦବେି।

Yahweh said to him, "Go down and you shall bring Aaron up with you, but don't let the priests and the people break through to come up to Yahweh, lest he break forth on them."
25
ତେଣୁ ମାଶାେ ଓହ୍ଲାଇ ଗଲେ ଓ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ।

So Moses went down to the people, and told them.
