1ଏହିସବୁ ଘଟଣା ପରେ ଅକ୍ଷଶ୍ବରେଶ ରାଜା ଅଗାଗୀଯ ହମ୍ମଦାଥାର ପୁତ୍ର ହାମନକୁ ଉନ୍ନତ କରି ଉଚ୍ଚ ପଦାନ୍ବିତ କଲା। ଆଉ ତାହାର ସଙ୍ଗେ ସମସ୍ତ ଅଧିପତିର ଆସନ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ତାକୁ ଶ୍ ରେଷ୍ଠ ଆସନ ଦଲୋ।
1After these things did king Ahasuerus promote Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes who were with him.
2ତହିଁରେ ରାଜାର ଯେତେ ଦାସ ରାଜଦ୍ବାର ରେ ଥିଲେ, ସେ ସମସ୍ତେ ନତ ହାଇେ ହାମନକୁ ପ୍ରଣାମ କଲେ। କାରଣ ରାଜା ତାହା ବିଷଯ ରେ ସହେିପରି ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦଇେଥିଲେ। ମାତ୍ର ମର୍ଦ୍ଦଖଯ ନତ ହେଲା ନାହିଁ କି ତାହାକୁ ପ୍ରଣାମ କଲା ନାହିଁ।
2All the king's servants, who were in the king's gate, bowed down, and did reverence to Haman; for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai didn't bow down, nor did him reverence.
3ଏଣୁ ରାଜଦ୍ବାର-ବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ରାଜାର ଦାସଗଣ ମର୍ଦ୍ଦଖଯକୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ କାହିଁକି ରାଜାଜ୍ଞା ଲଙ୍ଘନ କରୁଅଛ?
3Then the king's servants, who were in the king's gate, said to Mordecai, Why disobey you the king's commandment?
4ଏହିପରି ସମାନେେ ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ଦିନ କହିଲେ। ତଥାପି ସେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର କଥା ଶୁଣିଲା ନାହିଁ। ଏଣୁ ଏହି ମର୍ଦ୍ଦଖଯର କଥା ରହିବ କି ନାହିଁ, ଏହା ଜାଣିବା ଇଚ୍ଛା ରେ ସମାନେେ ହାମନକୁ ତାହା ଜଣାଇଲେ। କାରଣ ମର୍ଦ୍ଦଖଯ ଯକେି ୟିହୁଦୀଯ ଲୋକ, ଏହା ସେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ କହିଥିଲା।
4Now it came to pass, when they spoke daily to him, and he didn't listen to them, that they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai's matters would stand: for he had told those who he was a Jew.
5ଯେତବେେଳେ ହାମନ ଦେଖିଲା ମର୍ଦ୍ଦଖଯ ନତ ହେଲା ନାହିଁ, କି ତାହାକୁ ପ୍ରଣାମ କଲାନାହିଁ। ସେତବେେଳେ ସେ ଅତି କୋର୍ଧାନ୍ନିତ ହେଲା।
5When Haman saw that Mordecai didn't bow down, nor did him reverence, then was Haman full of wrath.
6ମାତ୍ର ସେ କବଳେ ମର୍ଦ୍ଦଖଯ ଉପରେ ହସ୍ତକ୍ଷପେ କରିବାକୁ ଲଘୁ ମଣିଲା। କାରଣ ସମାନେେ ତାହାକୁ ମର୍ଦ୍ଦଖଯର ବଂଶୀଯ ଲୋକଙ୍କ କଥା ଜଣାଇଲେ। ତେଣୁ ହାମନ ଅକ୍ଷଶ୍ବରେଶର ସମୁଦାଯ ରାଜ୍ଯ ରେ ସମସ୍ତ ୟିହୁଦୀଯଙ୍କୁ ଅର୍ଥାତ୍ ମର୍ଦ୍ଦଖଯର ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ବିନାଶ କରିବାକୁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କଲା।
6But he scorned the thought of laying hands on Mordecai alone; for they had made known to him the people of Mordecai: therefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews who were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai.
7ରାଜା ଅକ୍ଷଶ୍ବରେଶ ଦ୍ବାଦଶ ବର୍ଷର ପ୍ରଥମ ମାସଟି, ଯାହାକି ନୀଷନ ବୋଲି ପରିଚିତ, ସମାନେେ ଆଖିବୁଜି ଦ୍ବାଦଶ ମାସକୁ ମନୋନୀତ କଲେ, ଏହା ଅଦର ୟିହୁଦୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ଧ୍ବଂସ କରିବା ବୋଲି ଜଣାୟାଏ।
7In the first month, which is the month Nisan, in the twelfth year of king Ahasuerus, they cast Pur, that is, the lot, before Haman from day to day, and from month to month, to the twelfth month, which is the month Adar.
8ଏହାପରେ ହାମନ୍ ଅକ୍ଷଶ୍ବରେଶ ରାଜାକୁ କହିଲା, ଆପଣଙ୍କ ରାଜ୍ଯର ସମସ୍ତ ପ୍ରଦେଶସ୍ଥ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ମଧିଅରେ ଛିନ୍ନଭିନ୍ନ ଓ ପୃଥକ୍କୃତ ଏକ ଦେଶୀଯ ଲୋକ ଅଛନ୍ତି। ଅନ୍ୟ ସକଳ ଲୋକଙ୍କର ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥାଠାରୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ଭିନ୍ନ ସମାନେେ ମଧ୍ଯ ମହାରାଜାଙ୍କ ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ମାନନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ। ଏଣୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ବ୍ଯବହାର ସହ୍ଯ କରିବା ମହାରାଜାଙ୍କର ଉଚିତ୍ ନୁହେଁ।
8Haman said to king Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the peoples in all the provinces of your kingdom; and their laws are diverse from those of every people; neither keep they the king's laws: therefore it is not for the king's profit to allow them.
9ମହାରାଜ ସନ୍ତୁଷ୍ଟ ହେଲେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ବିନାଶ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ପତ୍ର ଲୋଖାଯାଉ। ତହିଁରେ ମୁଁ ରାଜକାର୍ୟ୍ଯ ରେ ନିୟୁକ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତ ରେ ରାଜଭଣ୍ତାରକୁ ଆଣିବା ପାଇଁ ଦଶହଜାର ତାଳନ୍ତ ରୂପା ଦବେି।
9If it please the king, let it be written that they be destroyed: and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver into the hands of those who have the charge of the king's business, to bring it into the king's treasuries.
10ଏଥି ରେ ରାଜା ଆପଣା ହସ୍ତରୁ ଅଙ୍ଗୁରୀଯ କାଢି ୟିହୁଦୀଯମାନଙ୍କର ବୌରି ଅଗାଗୀଯ ହମ୍ମଦାଥାର ପୁତ୍ର ହାମନକୁ ଦଲୋ।
10The king took his ring from his hand, and gave it to Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the Jews' enemy.
11ପୁଣି ରାଜା ହାମନକୁ କହିଲା, ସହେି ରୂପା ଓ ସହେି ଦେଶୀଯ ଲୋକ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଦିଆଗଲା। ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପ୍ରତି ଯାହା ତୁମ୍ଭର ଇଛା, ତାହା କର।
11The king said to Haman, The silver is given to you, the people also, to do with them as it seems good to you.
12ଏଣୁ ପ୍ରଥମ ମାସର ତ୍ରଯୋଦଶ ଦିନ ରେ ରାଜାର ଲେଖକମାନେ ଆହୁତ ହୁଅନ୍ତେ, ହାମନର ସମସ୍ତ ଆଜ୍ଞାନୁସା ରେ ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ପ୍ରଦେଶସ୍ଥ ରାଜ ପ୍ରତିନିଧିଗଣ ଓ ଅଧିପତିଗଣ ଓ ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ଦେଶୀଯ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ଭାଷାନୁସା ରେ ପତ୍ର ଲିଖିତ ହେଲା। ତାହା ଅକ୍ଷଶ୍ବରେଶ ରାଜାର ନାମ ରେ ଲିଖିତ ଓ ରାଜାର ଅଙ୍ଗୁକୀଯ ରେ ମୁଦ୍ରାଙ୍କିତ ହେଲା।
12Then were the king's scribes called in the first month, on the thirteenth day of it; and there was written according to all that Haman commanded to the king's satraps, and to the governors who were over every province, and to the princes of every people, to every province according to the writing of it, and to every people after their language; in the name of king Ahasuerus was it written, and it was sealed with the king's ring.
13ସମସ୍ତ ୟିହୁଦୀଯ ଆବାଳ, ବୃଦ୍ଧବନିତାଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କରିବା ପାଇଁ, ତଣ୍ଟି କାଟିବା ପାଇଁ, ଧ୍ବଂସ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଏବଂ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ଦ୍ରବ୍ଯଗୁଡିକ ଲୁଣ୍ଠନ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅନୁମତି ପ୍ରଦାନ କରି, ରାଜା ସମସ୍ତ ପ୍ରଦେଶକୁ ପତ୍ରବାହକମାନଙ୍କ ଦ୍ବାରା ପତ୍ର ପଠାଇଲେ। ଏହା ମାତ୍ର ଗୋଟିଏ ଦିନ ରେ କରାୟିବାର ଥିଲା, ତାହା ଦ୍ବାଦଶ ମାସର ତ୍ରଯୋଦଶ ଦିନ ଯାହା ଅଦର ମାସ କୁହାୟାଏ।
13Letters were sent by posts into all the king's provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey.
14ପୁଣି ସହେି ଦିନ ନିମନ୍ତେ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକ ଯମେିତି ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି ଏଥିପାଇଁ ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ପ୍ରଦେଶ ରେ ଆଜ୍ଞା ପ୍ରଗ୍ଭର କରିବାକୁ ଓ ୟାବତୀଯ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଜଣାଇବାକୁ ସହେି ଲିଖନର ପ୍ରତିଲିପି ଦିଆଗଲା।
14A copy of the writing, that the decree should be given out in every province, was published to all the peoples, that they should be ready against that day.
15ଆଉ ଧାବକଗଣ ରାଜାଜ୍ଞା ପାଇ ଶୀଘ୍ର ବାହାରି ଗଲେ, ପୁଣି ସହେି ଆଜ୍ଞା ଶୂଶନ୍ ରାଜଧାନୀ ରେ ପ୍ରକାଶିତ ହେଲା, ତହୁଁ ରାଜା ଓ ହାମନ୍ ପାନ କରିବାକୁ ବସିଲେ, ମାତ୍ର ଶୂଶନ ନଗର ଉଦ୍ବିଗ୍ନ ହେଲା।
15The posts went forth in haste by the king's commandment, and the decree was given out in Shushan the palace. The king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city of Shushan was perplexed.
