1ଯୋଶିୟ ରାଜା ହବୋ ସମୟରେ ଆଠ ବର୍ଷ ବଯସ୍କ ହାଇେଥିଲେ। ସେ ୟିରୁଶାଲମ ରେ ଏକତିରିଶ ବର୍ଷ ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ରାଜା ହାଇେଥିଲେ।
1Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign; and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem.
2ଯୋଶିୟଯ ଯଥାର୍ଥ କର୍ମ କଲେ। ସେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଇଚ୍ଛାନୁୟାଯୀ କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ କଲେ। ସେ ତାଙ୍କର ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ପରି ଉତ୍ତମ କାର୍ୟ୍ଯମାନ କଲେ। ଯୋଶିୟ ଉତ୍ତମକର୍ମ କରିବାରୁ କ୍ଷାନ୍ତ ହେଲେ ନାହିଁ।
2He did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, and walked in the ways of David his father, and didn't turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
3ଯୋଶିୟ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କର ଇଚ୍ଛା ଅନୁସରଣ କରିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ, ଯାହାଙ୍କୁ ତାଙ୍କର ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷ ଦାଉଦ ତାଙ୍କ ରାଜତ୍ବର ଅଷ୍ଟମ ବର୍ଷ ରେ ଅନୁସରଣ କରିଥିଲେ। ଯୋଶିୟଯ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କୁ ଅନୁସରଣ କରିବାକୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ କରିବା ସମୟରେ ତଥାପି ଅଳ୍ପବଯସ୍କ ଥିଲେ। ଯୋଶିୟଯଙ୍କ ରାଜତ୍ବର ଦ୍ବାଦଶ ବର୍ଷ ରେ ସେ ଯିହୁଦା ଓ ୟିରୁଶାଲମ ରେ ଥିବା ଉଚ୍ଚସ୍ଥାନ, ଆଶରୋ ସ୍ତମ୍ଭ ଖାଦେିତ ପ୍ରତିମା ଓ ଢ଼ାଞ୍ଚା ରେ ଢ଼ଳା ମୂର୍ତ୍ତିସବୁକୁ ବିନଷ୍ଟ କଲେ।
3For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father; and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the Asherim, and the engraved images, and the molten images.
4ଲୋକମାନେ ବାଲ୍ ଦବେତାର ୟଜ୍ଞବଦେୀସବୁ ଭାଙ୍ଗି ପକାଇଲେ। ସମାନେେ ଯୋଶିୟଙ୍କ ଉପସ୍ଥିତି ରେ ଏହା କଲେ। ଏହାପରେ ଯୋଶିୟଯ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖ ରେ ଦଣ୍ଡାଯମାନ ଉଚ୍ଚ ସୁଗନ୍ଧିଧୂପର ୟଜ୍ଞବଦେୀ ଭାଙ୍ଗି ପକାଇଲେ। ସେ ଖାଦେିତ ମୂର୍ତ୍ତିସବୁ ଓ ଛାଞ୍ଚ ରେ ଢ଼ଳା ମୂର୍ତ୍ତିସବୁ ଭାଙ୍ଗି ପକାଇଲେ। ସେ ସହେି ମୂର୍ତ୍ତିଗୁଡ଼ିକୁ ଭାଙ୍ଗି ଧୂଳି ରେ ପରିଣତ କରି ଦେଲେ। ଏହାପରେ ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକମାନେ ମୂର୍ତ୍ତିଗୁଡ଼ିକ ସମ୍ମୁଖ ରେ ବଳି ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ କରିଥିଲେ, ଯୋଶିୟଯ ସମାନଙ୍କେ କବର ଉପରେ ସହେି ଗୁଣ୍ଡକୁ ସିଞ୍ଚିଲେ।
4They broke down the altars of the Baals in his presence; and the sun-images that were on high above them he hewed down; and the Asherim, and the engraved images, and the molten images, he broke in pieces, and made dust of them, and strewed it on the graves of those who had sacrificed to them.
5ଯୋଶିୟ ଯାଜକମାନଙ୍କ ନିଜ ୟଜ୍ଞବଦେୀ ଉପରେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ହାଡ଼କୁ ମଧ୍ଯ ଜ୍ବଳାଇଲେ। ଏହି ପ୍ରକା ରେ ଯୋଶିୟଯ ଯିହୁଦା ଓ ୟିରୁଶାଲମକୁ ପବିତ୍ର କଲେ।
5He burnt the bones of the priests on their altars, and purged Judah and Jerusalem.
6ଯୋଶିୟଯ, ମନଃଶି, ଇଫ୍ରଯିମ୍,ଶିମିଯୋନ ଓ ନପ୍ତାଲି ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ଅଞ୍ଚଳର ସମସ୍ତ ସହର ରେ ଏହିପରି କଲେ। ସେ ସହେି ସହରଗୁଡ଼ିକର ନିକଟରେ ଥିବା ଭଗ୍ନାବଶଷେ ପ୍ରତି ମଧ୍ଯ ସହେିରୂପ କଲେ।
6So did he in the cities of Manasseh and Ephraim and Simeon, even to Naphtali, in their ruins round about.
7ଯୋଶିୟଯ ୟଜ୍ଞବଦେୀ ଓ ଆଶରୋ ସ୍ତମ୍ଭସବୁ ଭାଙ୍ଗି ପକାଇଲେ। ସେ ମୂର୍ତ୍ତିଗୁଡ଼ିକୁ ଭାଙ୍ଗି ଧୂଳି ରେ ପରିଣତ କରି ଦେଲେ। ସେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ସାରା ଦେଶ ରେ ସମସ୍ତ ସୁଗନ୍ଧବଦେୀ ଭାଙ୍ଗି ପକାଇଲେ। ଏହାପରେ ଯୋଶିୟଯ ୟିରୁଶାଲମକୁ ଫରେିଗଲେ।
7He broke down the altars, and beat the Asherim and the engraved images into powder, and hewed down all the sun-images throughout all the land of Israel, and returned to Jerusalem.
8ତାଙ୍କର ରାଜତ୍ବର ଅଷ୍ଟାଦଶ ବର୍ଷା ରେ ସେ ସବୁ ସ୍ଥାନ ଓ ମନ୍ଦିର ପବିତ୍ର କଲାପରେ, ଯୋଶିୟଯ, ଶାଫନ୍, ମା ସଯେ ଏବଂ ୟୋଯାହଙ୍କୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କର ମନ୍ଦିର ମରାମତି ପାଇଁ ପଠାଇଲେ। ଶାଫାନ୍ଙ୍କ ପିତାଙ୍କର ନାମ ଥିଲା ଅତ୍ସଲିଯ। ମା ସଯେ ନଗରର ନେତା ଥିଲେ ଓ ୟୋଯାହଙ୍କ ପିତାଙ୍କର ନାମ ଥିଲା ୟୋଯାହସ। ୟୋଯାହ ବିତରଣ ରକ୍ଷକ ଥିଲେ।
8Now in the eighteenth year of his reign, when he had purged the land and the house, he sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, and Maaseiah the governor of the city, and Joah the son of Joahaz the recorder, to repair the house of Yahweh his God.
9ସହେି ଲୋକମାନେ ପ୍ରଧାନ ଯାଜକ ହିଲ୍କିଯଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସିଲେ ଓ ଲୋକମାନେ ମନ୍ଦିର ନିମନ୍ତେ ଦଇେଥିବା ଟଙ୍କା ତାଙ୍କୁ ଦେଲେ। ଲବେୀୟ ଦ୍ବାରପାଳଗଣ ମନଃଶି, ଇଫ୍ରଯିମ ଓ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଟଙ୍କା ସଂଗ୍ରହ କରିଥିଲେ। ସମାନେେ ଯିହୁଦା, ବିନ୍ଯାମୀନ ଓ ୟିରୁଶାଲମ ରେ ବାସ କରୁଥିବା ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କଠାରୁ ମଧ୍ଯ ଏହି ଟଙ୍କା ସଂଗ୍ରହ କରିଥିଲେ।
9They came to Hilkiah the high priest, and delivered the money that was brought into the house of God, which the Levites, the keepers of the threshold, had gathered of the hand of Manasseh and Ephraim, and of all the remnant of Israel, and of all Judah and Benjamin, and of the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
10ଏହାପରେ ଲବେୀୟମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ମନ୍ଦିରର ତଦାରଖ କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ କରୁଥିବା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ମଜୁରୀ ଦେଲେ। ଆଉ ତଦାରଖକାରୀମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ମନ୍ଦିର ମରାମତି କରୁଥିବା ଶ୍ରମିକମାନଙ୍କୁ ମଜୁରୀ ଦେଲେ।
10They delivered it into the hand of the workmen who had the oversight of the house of Yahweh; and the workmen who labored in the house of Yahweh gave it to mend and repair the house;
11କଟା ହାଇେଥିବା ବିରାଟକାଯ ପ୍ରସ୍ତର ଓ କାଠ କଣିକା ନିମନ୍ତେ ସମାନେେ ବଢ଼ଇେ ଓ ଗୃହ ନିର୍ମାଣକାରୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ଟଙ୍କା ଦେଲେ। ଗୃହର ପୁନଃନିର୍ମାଣ ଓ ଗୃହର କଡ଼ି ନିର୍ମାଣ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଏହି କାଠ ବ୍ଯବହୃତ ହେଲା। ଅତୀତ ରେ ଯିହୁଦାର ରାଜାମାନେ ମନ୍ଦିରର ଅଟ୍ଟାଳିକା ଯତ୍ନ ନଇେ ନ ଥିଲେ। ସହେି ଅଟ୍ଟାଳିକାଗୁଡ଼ିକ ପୁରାତନ ଓ ଭଗ୍ନପ୍ରାଯ ହାଇୟୋଇ ଥିଲା।
11even to the carpenters and to the builders gave they it, to buy hewn stone, and timber for couplings, and to make beams for the houses which the kings of Judah had destroyed.
12ଲୋକମାନେ ଅତି ବିଶ୍ବସ୍ତଭାବରେ କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ କରୁଥିଲେ। ସମାନଙ୍କେର ତଦାରଖକାରୀମାନେ ଥିଲେ ୟହତ୍ ଓ ଓବଦିଯ। ୟହତ୍ ଓ ଓବଦିଯ ଲବେୀୟ ଓ ମରାରିଙ୍କ ବଂଶଧର ଥିଲେ। ଅନ୍ୟ ତଦାରଖକାରୀମାନେ ଥିଲେ ଜିଖରିଯ ଓ ମଶୁଲ୍ଲମ୍। ସମାନେେ କହାତ୍ ବଂଶର ଥିଲେ।
12The men did the work faithfully: and the overseers of them were Jahath and Obadiah, the Levites, of the sons of Merari; and Zechariah and Meshullam, of the sons of the Kohathites, to set it forward; and others of the Levites, all who were skillful with instruments of music.
13ଯେଉଁ ଲବେୀୟମାନେ ବାଦ୍ଯୟନ୍ତ୍ର ସବୁ ବଜାଇବା ରେ ନିପୁଣ ଥିଲେ, ସହେିମାନେ ମଧ୍ଯ ଶ୍ରମିକ ଓ ଅନ୍ୟ କାର୍ୟ୍ଯକାରୀମାନଙ୍କର କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ ତଦାରଖ କଲେ। କିଛି ଲବେୀୟ ସଚିବ ଓ କାର୍ୟ୍ଯାଧିକାରୀ ଦ୍ବାରପାଳରୂପେ କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ କଲେ।
13Also they were over the bearers of burdens, and set forward all who did the work in every manner of service: and of the Levites there were scribes, and officers, and porters.
14ଲବେୀୟମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ମନ୍ଦିର ରେ ଥିବା ଟଙ୍କାକୁ ବାହାର କରୁଥିଲେ। ଆଉ ସହେି ସମୟରେ ହିଲ୍କିଯ ଯାଜକ ମାଶାଙ୍କେ ଦ୍ବାରା ପ୍ରଦତ୍ତ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ନିଯମ ପୁସ୍ତକଟି ପାଇଲେ।
14When they brought out the money that was brought into the house of Yahweh, Hilkiah the priest found the book of the law of Yahweh given by Moses.
15ହିଲ୍କିଯ ସଚିବ ଶାଫନ୍ଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ମୁଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଗୃହ ରେ ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ନିଯମ ପୁସ୍ତକଟି ପାଇଅଛି ! ହିଲ୍କିଯ ଶାଫନ୍ଙ୍କୁ ସହେି ପୁସ୍ତକଟି ଦେଲେ।
15Hilkiah answered Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of Yahweh. Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan.
16ଶାଫନ୍ ସହେି ପୁସ୍ତକକୁ ରାଜା ଯୋଶିୟଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆଣିଲେ। ଶାଫନ୍ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଭୃତ୍ଯମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯାହା କରିବାକୁ କହିଅଛ, ତାହା ସମାନେେ କରୁଛନ୍ତି।
16Shaphan carried the book to the king, and moreover brought back word to the king, saying, All that was committed to your servants, they are doing.
17ସମାନେେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ମନ୍ଦିର ମଧିଅରେ ଥିବା ଟଙ୍କା ଆଣି ତଦାରଖକାରୀ ଓ ଶ୍ରମିକମାନଙ୍କୁ ପଇଠ କରିଛନ୍ତି।
17They have emptied out the money that was found in the house of Yahweh, and have delivered it into the hand of the overseers, and into the hand of the workmen.
18ଏହାପରେ ଶାଫନ୍ ୟିଏ କି ସାମ୍ପାଦକ, ରାଜା ଯୋଶିୟଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଯାଜକ ହିଲ୍କିଯ ମାେତେ ଏକ ପୁସ୍ତକ ଦଇେଛନ୍ତି। ଏହାପରେ ଶାଫନ୍ ସହେି ପୁସ୍ତକ ପାଠ କରି ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ଶୁଣାଇଲେ।
18Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest has delivered me a book. Shaphan read therein before the king.
19ରାଜା ଯୋଶିୟଯ ଯେତବେେଳେ ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ନିଯମର ବାକ୍ଯଗୁଡ଼ିକ ପଢ଼ାୟିବାର ଶୁଣିଲେ, ସେ ଦୁଃଖ ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିବାକୁ ନିଜର ବସ୍ତ୍ରକୁ ଚିରି ପକାଇଲେ।
19It happened, when the king had heard the words of the law, that he tore his clothes.
20ଏହାପରେ ରାଜା ହିଲ୍କିଯ, ଶାଫନ୍ଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର ଅହୀକାମ୍, ମୀଖାଯଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର ଅବ୍ଦୋନ, ସଚିବ ଶାଫନ୍ ଓ ଭୃତ୍ଯ ଆସାଯଙ୍କୁ ଏକ ଆଦେଶ ଦେଲେ। ରାଜା କହିଲେ,
20The king commanded Hilkiah, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Abdon the son of Micah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah the king's servant, saying,
21ୟାଅ, ମାେ' ତରଫରୁ ଓ ଯିହୁଦା ଏବଂ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ତରଫରୁ ଓ ଯିହୁଦା ଏବଂ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ରେ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ତରଫରୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ପଚାର। ଯେଉଁ ପୁସ୍ତକ ମିଳିଅଛି, ସେଥି ରେ ଥିବା ବାକ୍ଯ ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧ ରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ପଚାର। ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଅତ୍ଯନ୍ତ କୋର୍ଧ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ଯ ମାନିଲେ ନାହିଁ। ଏହି ପୁସ୍ତକରେ ଯେଉଁସବୁ ବିଷଯ ଉଲ୍ଲେଖ ହାଇେଅଛି, ତାହା ସମାନେେ କଲେ ନାହିଁ।
21Go you , inquire of Yahweh for me, and for those who are left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book that is found; for great is the wrath of Yahweh that is poured out on us, because our fathers have not kept the word of Yahweh, to do according to all that is written in this book.
22ହିଲ୍କିଯ ଓ ରାଜାଙ୍କର ସବେକାମାନେ ଭବିଷ୍ଯଦ୍ବକ୍ତୀ ହୁଲ୍ଦାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଗଲେ। ହୁଲ୍ଦା ଶଲ୍ଲୁମଙ୍କ ପତ୍ନୀ ଥିଲେ। ଶଲ୍ଲୁମ୍ ତୋଖତ୍ଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ଥିଲେ। ତୋଖତ୍ ହସ୍ରଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ଥିଲେ। ଶଲ୍ଲୁମ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ବସ୍ତ୍ରର ତତ୍ତ୍ବାବଧାରକ ଥିଲେ। ହୁଲ୍ଦା ୟିରୁଶାଲମର ଦ୍ବିତୀୟ ମହଲା ରେ ବାସ କରୁଥିଲେ। ହିଲ୍କିଯ ଓ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ସବେକଗଣ ହୁଲ୍ଦାଙ୍କୁ ସମସ୍ତ ଘଟଣା ଜଣାଇଲେ।
22So Hilkiah, and they whom the king had commanded, went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tokhath, the son of Hasrah, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she lived in Jerusalem in the second quarter;) and they spoke to her to that effect.
23ହୁଲ୍ଦା ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ କହିଲେ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ପରମେଶ୍ବର କହନ୍ତି : ସହେି ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ କୁହ, ୟିଏ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ମାେ ପାଖକୁ ପଠାଇଥିଲେ।
23She said to them, Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel: Tell you the man who sent you to me,
24ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହିକଥା କହନ୍ତି, 'ଆମ୍ଭେ ଏହି ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଓ ଏହିଠା ରେ ବାସ କରୁଥିବା ଲୋକଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ବିପଦ ଆଣିବା। ଯିହୁଦାର ରାଜାଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖ ରେ ଏହି ପୁସ୍ତକରୁ ଯେଉଁ ସବୁ ବିଷଯ ପାଠ କରାଗଲା, ଆମ୍ଭେ ସହେି ସମସ୍ତ ଭୟଙ୍କର ବିଷଯ ଘଟାଇବା।
24Thus says Yahweh, Behold, I will bring evil on this place, and on the inhabitants of it, even all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah.
25ଆମ୍ଭେ ଏହା କରିବା, କାରଣ ଲୋକମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭଙ୍କୁ ପରିତ୍ଯାଗ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି ଓ ଅନ୍ୟ ଦବେତାଗଣଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ସୁଗନ୍ଧିଧୂପ ଜାଳିଛନ୍ତି। ସହେି ଲୋକମାନେ ଯେଉଁସବୁ ମନ୍ଦ କର୍ମମାନ କରିଛନ୍ତି, ତଦ୍ଦ୍ବାରା ଆମ୍ଭଙ୍କୁ କୋର୍ଧାନ୍ବିତ କରିଛନ୍ତି। ତେଣୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଏହି ସ୍ଥାନ ଉପରେ ଆମ୍ଭକୁ ମାରେ ନିର୍ବାପିତ ହାଇେ ପାରୁ ନ ଥିବା ଅଗ୍ନିପରି କୋରଧ ଢ଼ାଳିବା।'
25Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore is my wrath poured out on this place, and it shall not be quenched.
26କିନ୍ତୁ ଯିହୁଦାର ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ଏହିକଥା ତୁମ୍ଭର କହିବା ଉଚିତ୍। ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ପଚାରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ପଠାଇଲେ : ତୁମ୍ଭେ କିଛିକ୍ଷଣ ପୂର୍ବେ ଯେଉଁ ବାକ୍ଯ ଶୁଣିଲା, ସେ ବିଷଯ ରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି :
26But to the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of Yahweh, thus shall you tell him, Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel: As touching the words which you have heard,
27'ଯେତବେେଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଏହି ସ୍ଥାନ ବିଷଯ ରେ ଓ ଏଠା ରେ ବାସ କରୁଥିବା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ବିଷଯ ରେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କର ବାର୍ତ୍ତା ଶୁଣିଲ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଦୁଃଖ କଲ, ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଆଗ ରେ ନିଜକୁ ନମଯ କଲ ଏବଂ ଦୁଃଖ ରେ ନିଜର ବସ୍ତ୍ରକୁ ଚିରି ପକାଇଲ। ଆମ୍ଭେ ତାହା ଦେଖିଲୁ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି।
27because your heart was tender, and you did humble yourself before God, when you heard his words against this place, and against the inhabitants of it, and have humbled yourself before me, and have torn your clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard you, says Yahweh.
28ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ନଇୟିବେ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭର କବରକୁ ଶାନ୍ତି ରେ ୟିବ। ଆମ୍ଭେ ଏହି ସ୍ଥାନ କି ଏଠା ରେ ବାସ କରୁଥିବା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ଯେଉଁ ବିପଦ ଆଣିବା, ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଦେଖିବାକୁ ପଡ଼ିବ ନାହିଁ। ହିଲ୍କିଯ ଓ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ସବେକମାନେ ଏହି ବାର୍ତ୍ତାସବୁ ରାଜା ଯୋଶିୟଯଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆଣିଲେ।
28Behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace, neither shall your eyes see all the evil that I will bring on this place, and on the inhabitants of it. They brought back word to the king.
29ଏହାପରେ ରାଜା ଯୋଶିୟଯ ଯିହୁଦା ଓ ୟିରୁଶାଲମର ସମସ୍ତ ବଯୋଜ୍ଯୋଷ୍ଠ ବ୍ଯକ୍ତିମାନଙ୍କୁ ତାଙ୍କୁ ସାକ୍ଷାତ କରିବାକୁ ଡାକିଲେ।
29Then the king sent and gathered together all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem.
30ରାଜା ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ମନ୍ଦିରକୁ ଗଲେ। ଯିହୁଦାର ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକ, ୟିରୁଶାଲମ ରେ ବାସ କରୁଥିବା ଲୋକମାନେ, ଯାଜକମାନେ, ଲବେୀୟମାନେ, ଏବଂ ସମସ୍ତ ଗୁରୁତ୍ବପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଓ ଗୁରୁତ୍ବହୀନ ଲୋକମାନେ, ଯୋଶିୟଯଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଥିଲେ। ଯୋଶିୟଯ ସୋମନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ନିଯମ ପୁସ୍ତକରୁ ସବୁ ବାକ୍ଯ ପଢ଼ି ଶୁଣାଇଲେ। ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ମନ୍ଦିର ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ସହେି ପୁସ୍ତକ ମିଳିଥିଲା।
30The king went up to the house of Yahweh, and all the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the priests, and the Levites, and all the people, both great and small: and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant that was found in the house of Yahweh.
31ଏହାପରେ ରାଜା ତାଙ୍କ ସ୍ଥାନ ରେ ଉଠି ଛିଡ଼ା ହେଲେ ଓ ସେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଗୋଟିଏ ନିଯମ କଲେ। ସେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଅନୁଗମନ କରିବା ଓ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଆଦେଶ, ନିଯମ ଓ ନୀତିକୁ ମାନିବା ପାଇଁ ସମସ୍ତ ହୃଦଯ ଓ ଆତ୍ମାର ସହିତ ପୁସ୍ତକରେ ଥିବା ନିଯମର ବାକ୍ଯକୁ ମାନିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ସମ୍ମତ ହେଲେ।
31The king stood in his place, and made a covenant before Yahweh, to walk after Yahweh, and to keep his commandments, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and with all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant that were written in this book.
32ଏହାପରେ ଯୋଶିୟ ୟିରୁଶାଲମ ଓ ବିନ୍ଯାମୀନର ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ସହେି ନିଯମକୁ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଶପଥ କରାଇଲେ। ୟିରୁଶାଲମର ଲୋକମାନେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷମାନେ ଯେଉଁ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କର ବାଧ୍ଯ ହାଇେଥିଲେ, ସହେି ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ନିଯମର ବାଧ୍ଯ ହେଲେ।
32He caused all who were found in Jerusalem and Benjamin to stand to it. The inhabitants of Jerusalem did according to the covenant of God, the God of their fathers.
33ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଅନକେ ଦେଶର ଦବୋଦବେୀ ମୂର୍ତ୍ତିମାନ ଥିଲା। କିନ୍ତୁ ଯୋଶିୟ ସହେିସବୁ ଭୟଙ୍କର ମୂର୍ତ୍ତିଗୁଡ଼ିକୁ ଧ୍ବଂସ କରି ଦେଲେ। ଯୋଶିୟଯ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କର ସବୋ କରାଇଲେ। ଯୋଶିୟଯ ଜୀବିତ ଥିବା ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ଲୋକମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ, ସୋମନଙ୍କ ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କର ସବୋ କଲେ।
33Josiah took away all the abominations out of all the countries that pertained to the children of Israel, and made all who were found in Israel to serve, even to serve Yahweh their God. All his days they didn't depart from following Yahweh, the God of their fathers.
