1ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦଳ ରେ ଥିବା ପ୍ରାଚୀନମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏବେ ମାରେ କିଛି କହିବାର ଅଛି। ମୁଁ ମଧ୍ଯ ଜଣେ ପ୍ରାଚୀନ। ମୁଁ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କର ୟନ୍ତ୍ରଣା ନିଜ ଆଖି ରେ ଦେଖିଛିା ଆମ୍ଭକୁ ଯେଉଁ ମହିମା ଭବିଷ୍ଯତ ରେ ଦଖାଇେ ଦିଆୟିବ, ସେଥି ରେ ମଧ୍ଯ ମୁଁ ଭାଗ ନବେି।
1I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and who will also share in the glory that will be revealed.
2ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଅନୁ ରୋଧ କରେ ଯେ, ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଯେଉଁ ମଷଗେଣର ଦାଯିତ୍ବ ରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ରହିଛ, ସହେି ମଷେ ସମୂହର ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯତ୍ନ ନବୋ ଉଚିତ। ସମାନେେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ମଷେପଲ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବାଧ୍ଯବାଧକତା ରେ ନୁହେଁ, ମାତ୍ର ସ୍ବଇଚ୍ଛା ରେ ପ୍ରତିପାଳନ କର। ପରମେଶ୍ବର ତାହାହିଁ ଚାହାଁନ୍ତି। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସବୋ କରିବା ରେ ଆନନ୍ଦ ପାଉଛ ବୋଲି ସପରେି କର, ଧନ ଲୋଭ ରେ ତାହା କର ନାହିଁ।
2Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not under compulsion, but voluntarily, not for dishonest gain, but willingly;
3ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କର ଦାଯିତ୍ବ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ନଇେଛ, ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପ୍ରତି ନିଷ୍ଠୁର ହୁଅ ନାହିଁ। କିନ୍ତୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ନିକଟରେ ଆଦର୍ଶ ସ୍ବରୂପ ହୁଅ।
3neither as lording it over the charge allotted to you, but making yourselves examples to the flock.
4ଯେତବେେଳେ ମୁଖ୍ଯ ମଷେପାଳକ ଆସିବେ, ସେତବେେଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୁକୁଟ ପାଇବ। ସହେି ମୁକୁଟଟି ଅତ୍ଯନ୍ତ ଗୌରବମୟ ହାଇେଥିବ ଓ ଏହା କବେେ ହେଲେ ନିଜର ସୌନ୍ଦର୍ୟ୍ଯ ହରାଇବ ନାହିଁ।
4When the chief Shepherd is revealed, you will receive the crown of glory that doesn't fade away.
5ୟୁବକଗଣ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ମାରେ କିଛି କଥା ମଧ୍ଯ କହିବାକୁ ଅଛି। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବଯୋଜେଷ୍ଠମାନଙ୍କ କଥା ମାନିବା ଉଚିତ। ପରସ୍ପର ପ୍ରତି ବିନମ୍ର ଭାବ ରଖିବା ଉଚିତ।
5Likewise, you younger ones, be subject to the elder. Yes, all of you gird yourselves with humility, to subject yourselves to one another; for "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."
6ଅତଏବ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ବଳିଷ୍ଠ ହାତ ତଳେ ନିଜକୁ ନମ୍ର କର। ତା ହେଲେ ଠିକ୍ ସମୟ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲେ ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଉନ୍ନତ କରିବେ।
6Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time;
7ତୁମ୍ଭର ସମସ୍ତ ଚିନ୍ତା ତାହାଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ରଖ, କାରଣ ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଯତ୍ନ ନିଅନ୍ତି।
7casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.
8ନିଜକୁ ସଂୟଜ କର ଓ ସାବଧାନ ରୁହ। ଶୟତାନ ହେଉଛି ତୁମ୍ଭର ଶତ୍ରୁ। ସେ ଗର୍ଜନ କରୁଥିବା ସିଂହ ଭଳି କାହାକୁ ମାରି ଖାଇବା ପାଇଁ ଚାରିଆଡ଼େ ଖାଜେି ବୁଲୁଛି।
8Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
9ଶୟତାନର ଅନୁସରଣ କର ନାହିଁ। ନିଜ ବିଶ୍ବାସ ରେ ଦୃଢ଼ ହାଇେ ରୁହ। ସମଗ୍ର ବିଶ୍ବ ରେ ସର୍ବତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭ ଭାଇ ଓ ଭଉଣୀମାନେ ସମାନ ଭାବରେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଭଳି ଯାତନା ପାଉଛନ୍ତି, ଏ କଥା ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣ।
9Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings.
10ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଅଳ୍ପ ସମୟ ପାଇଁ ଯାତନା ପାଇବ। କିନ୍ତୁ ତା'ପରେ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ସବୁ ଠିକ୍ କରି ଦବେେ। ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଶକ୍ତିଶାଳୀ କରିବେ। ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଭାର ବହନ କରିବେ ଓ ପଡ଼ିବା ବେଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଉଠାଇବେ। ସଇେ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ସମସ୍ତ ଅନୁଗ୍ରହ ଦିଅନ୍ତି। ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କଠା ରେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ମହିମା ରେ ଅଂଶୀଦାର ହବୋ ଲାଗି ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଡ଼ାକି ଅଛନ୍ତି। ସହେି ମହିମା ଅନନ୍ତ କାଳ ଧରି ରହିବ।
10But may the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
11ସଦାସର୍ବଦା ପାଇଁ ସମସ୍ତ କ୍ଷମତା ତାହାଙ୍କର ଅଟେ, ଆମେନ୍।
11To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.
12ସିଲାନ୍ ସାହାୟ୍ଯ ରେ ମୁଁ ଏହି େଛାଟ ପତ୍ରଟି ଲେଖିଲି। ସେ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ ରେ ଜଣେ ବିଶ୍ବସ୍ତ ଭ୍ରାତା ବୋଲି ମୁଁ ଜାଣେ। ଏହା ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ସାନ୍ତ୍ବନା ଦବୋ ଓ ଉତ୍ସାହିତ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ମୁଁ ଲେଖିଥିଲି। ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ କହିବାକୁ ଚାହିଁଥିଲି ଯେ ଏହା ହେଉଛି ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଅନୁଗ୍ରହ। ସହେି ଅନୁଗ୍ରହ ରେ ଦୃଢ଼ ହାଇେ ରୁହ।
12Through Silvanus, our faithful brother, as I consider him, I have written to you briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which you stand.
13ବାବିଲୋନ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ନମସ୍କାର ଜଣାଉଛନ୍ତି। ତୁମ୍ଭ ଭଳି ସମାନେେ ମଧ୍ଯ ମନୋନୀତ। ଯୀଶୁଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କ ବିଶ୍ବାସୀ ମାେ ପୁତ୍ର ମାର୍କ ନମସ୍କାର ଜଣାଉଛନ୍ତି।
13She who is in Babylon, chosen together with you, greets you; and so does Mark, my son.
14ଯେତବେେଳେ ଦଖାେ ସାକ୍ଷାତ ହେଉଛି, ପରସ୍ପରକୁ ପ୍ ରମେ ଚୁମ୍ବନ ଦ୍ବାରା ନମସ୍କାର କର।
14Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace be to you all who are in Christ Jesus. Amen.
