1जब बिलामले चाल पाए कि परमप्रभु इस्राएलीहरूलाई आशीर्वाद दिनमा खुशी हुनुहुन्छ, तिनले आफ्नो जादु टुनाहरू प्रयोग गरेनन, तर तिनी मरूभूमि तिर फर्केर हेरे।
1When Balaam saw that it pleased Yahweh to bless Israel, he didn't go, as at the other times, to meet with enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.
2जब बिलामले मरूभूमि तिर हेरे तिनले इस्राएली मानिसहरूलाई आफ्नो-आफ्नो कुल गरि छाउनीहरूमा बसेको देखे। त्यसपछि परमेश्वरको आत्मा तिनीभित्र आयो।
2Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel dwelling according to their tribes; and the Spirit of God came on him.
3अनि बिलामले यो अगमवाणी दिएः“यो समाचार बओरका छोरो बिलामबाट हो। म ती चीजहरूको विषयमा भन्दैछु जो म स्पष्ट देख्छु।
3He took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor says, The man whose eye was closed says;
4म यो वाणी परमेश्वरबाट सुन्छु। परमेश्वर सर्वशक्तिमानले जे देखाउनु भयो मैले त्यो देखें। म जो स्पष्ट देख्छु त्यो विनम्र भई भन्छु।
4He says, who hears the words of God, Who sees the vision of the Almighty, Falling down, and having his eyes open:
5“हे याकूबका मानिसहरू हो तिमीहरूका पालहरू कति सुन्दर छन्। हे इस्राएलका बासिन्दाहरू हो! तिमीहरूका छाउनीहरू कति राम्रा छन्।
5How goodly are your tents, Jacob, Your tents, Israel!
6तिमीहरूको पालहरू नदी किनारका बगैंचाहरू जस्तै एकै पंक्तीमा रोपिएका ताडका रूखहरू फैलिए जस्तै, परमप्रभुले रोप्नु भएको घिउकुमारी जस्तै, पानी नेरको देवदारहरू जस्तै फैलिएका छन्।
6As valleys are they spread forth, As gardens by the river-side, As lign-aloes which Yahweh has planted, As cedar trees beside the waters.
7तिनीहरूका बाल्टीहरू पानीले भरिएर पोखिनेछन्। अनि तिनीहरूका बीउहरूले प्रशस्त पानी पाउने छन्। तिनीहरूका राजा अगाग भन्दा ठूलो हुनेछ, अनि तिनीहरूको राज्य बढनेछ।
7Water shall flow from his buckets, His seed shall be in many waters, His king shall be higher than Agag, His kingdom shall be exalted.
8“परमेश्वरले तिनीहरूलाई मिश्रदेशबाट ल्याउनु भयो, तिनीहरूको निम्ति जंङ्गली साँढेको सींङ जस्तै शक्तिशाली हुनुहुन्छ। ती इस्राएलीहरूले आफ्नो शत्रुहरूलाई निल्नेछन् र तिनीहरूको हड्डी फुटेर चूर पर्नेछ अनि तिनीहरूलाई आफ्नो बाणहरूले छेड्नेछ।
8God brings him forth out of Egypt; He has as it were the strength of the wild-ox: He shall eat up the nations his adversaries, Shall break their bones in pieces, Smite them through with his arrows.
9“विश्राममा तिनीहरू सिंह झैं सुत्नेछन् अनि सिंह झैं-तिनीहरूलाई कसले बिउँझाउने? “तिनीहरूलाई आशिर्वाद दिने आशीषित हुन् अनि तिनीहरूलाई सराप्ने श्रापित हुन्।”
9He couched, he lay down as a lion, As a lioness; who shall rouse him up? Blessed be everyone who blesses you, Cursed be everyone who curses you.
10बिलामसित बालाक रिसाएर हात पक्डिएर, तिनले बिलामलाई भने, “मैले तिमीलाई मेरा शत्रुहरूलाई सराप्न बोलाएको थिएँ तर तिमीले तिनीहरूलाई तीन पल्ट आशीर्वाद दियौ।
10Balak's anger was kindled against Balaam, and he struck his hands together; and Balak said to Balaam, I called you to curse my enemies, and, behold, you have altogether blessed them these three times.
11अब तिमी झट्टै आफ्नो घरमा जाऊ। मैले भनेको थिंए कि म तिमीलाई ठूलो सम्मान दिनेछु, तर परमप्रभुले तिमीलाई सम्मान पाउनुबाट बञ्चित गराउनु भयो।”
11Therefore now flee you to your place: I thought to promote you to great honor; but, behold, Yahweh has kept you back from honor.
12बिलामले बालाकलाई भन्यो, “के मैले तिम्रा दूतहरूलाई भनेको थिईनँ।
12Balaam said to Balak, Didn't I also tell your messengers who you sent to me, saying,
13‘यदि बालाकले सुन र चाँदीले परिपूर्ण महल दिए पनि म परमप्रभुको आज्ञा विरूद्ध केही गर्दिनँ?’ म त्यही गर्छु जो परमप्रभुले भन्नुहुन्छ।
13If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I can't go beyond the word of Yahweh, to do either good or bad of my own mind; what Yahweh speaks, that will I speak?
14अब म आफ्नो घरमा फर्केर जान्छु। तर म तिमीलाई चेतावनी दिन्छु कि यी इस्राएलका मानिसहरूले तिमी र तिम्रा मानिसहरूलाई भविष्यमा के गर्नेछन्, सुन।”
14Now, behold, I go to my people: come, and I will advertise you what this people shall do to your people in the latter days.
15तब बिलामले यी कुराहरू भनेः“यो बओरको छोरो बिलाम जसले आफ्नो आखाँले सफासंग देख्न सक्छ,
15He took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor says, The man whose eye was closed says;
16कसले परमेश्वरको वचन सुन्न सक्छ अनि कसले सर्वउच्च परमेश्वरबाट ज्ञान प्राप्त गर्न सक्छ? सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वरले यो कुराहरू देखाउनु भयो त्यो मैले देखें। म नम्रता पूर्वक तपाईंलाई भन्छु के म स्वच्छ देख्छु।
16He says, who hears the words of God, Knows the knowledge of the Most High, Who sees the vision of the Almighty, Falling down, and having his eyes open:
17“म परमप्रभुलाई देख्न सक्छु, तर अहिले होइन, म उहाँलाई देख्न सक्छु, तर नजीकबाट होइन। एउटा राजा तारा जस्तै याकूबको वंशबाट आउनेछ, इस्राएलका मानिसहरूबाट एक जना शासक जन्मनेछ। मोआबी मानिसहरूको त्यस शासकले टाउको किच्चयाउनुहुनेछ अनि शेतको वंशनै ध्वंश पार्नु हुनेछ।
17I see him, but not now; I see him, but not near: There shall come forth a star out of Jacob, A scepter shall rise out of Israel, Shall strike through the corners of Moab, Break down all the sons of tumult.
18इस्राएलको शत्रु सेईरको भूमि इस्राएलको दखलमा हुनेछ, एदोमको भूमि पनि तिनीहरूकै दखलमा रहनेछ जब इस्राएलले बहादुरी देखाउनेछ।
18Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession, who were his enemies; While Israel does valiantly.
19“याकूबको वंशबाट शासक आउनेछ, र त्यस शहरमा बाँचेकाहरूलाई ध्वंश पार्नेछ।”
19Out of Jacob shall one have dominion, Shall destroy the remnant from the city.
20बिलामले अमालेकी मानिसहरूलाई हेरेर अगमवाणी दिएः“राष्ट्रहरूमा अमालेक सबै भन्दा शक्तिशाली हो। तर ध्वंश हुनेछ अमालेक पनि।”
20He looked at Amalek, and took up his parable, and said, Amalek was the first of the nations; But his latter end shall come to destruction.
21तब बिलामले कनानी मानिसहरूलाई हेरेर अगमवाणी बोलेः“चट्टानमा बनिएको गुँड जस्तै तिमीहरू सुरक्षित छौ।
21He looked at the Kenite, and took up his parable, and said, Strong is your dwelling-place, Your nest is set in the rock.
22तर केनीहरू पनि ध्वंश पारिनेछन् जब अश्शूरले तिमीहरूलाई कैदी बनाउँनेछ।”
22Nevertheless Kain shall be wasted, Until Asshur shall carry you away captive.
23बिलामले तब फेरि अगमवाणी बोलेः“हाय! को जीवित रहन सक्छ जब परमेश्वरले यस्तो गर्नु हुन्छ?
23He took up his parable, and said, Alas, who shall live when God does this?
24जहाजहरू कित्तीमको किनारबाट आउनेछन् र तिनीहरूले अश्शूर र एबरलाई परास्त पार्नेछन्। तर तिनीहरू पनि ध्वंश गराइनेछन्।”
24But ships shall come from the coast of Kittim, They shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber; He also shall come to destruction.
25त्यसपछि बिलाम उठेर घर फर्के अनि बालाक पनि आफ्नो बाटो लागे।
25Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place; and Balak also went his way.
