म त्यो करार विषयमा कुरा गरिरहेछु जुन मैले तिनीहरूका पिता-पुर्खाहरूसँग गरेको थिएँ। त्यो करार मैले त्यसबेला गरेको थिएँ जब मैले तिनीहरूलाई मिश्रबाट ल्याएँ। मिश्र धेरै संकटहरूको ठाउँ थियो। यो फलाम गलाउने भट्टी झैं थियो। मैले तिनीहरूलाई भने मेरा आज्ञा पालन गर अनि मैले आदेश दिएको कुराहरू गर। यदि तिमीहरूले त्यसो गर्यौ भनें, तिमीहरू मेरो मानिसहरू हुनेछौ र म तिमीहरूको परमेश्वर हुनेछु।

which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so shall you be my people, and I will be your God;
