1अब्राहामले फेरि विवाह गरे अनि तिनकी नयाँ पत्नीको नाउँ कतुरा थियो।
1Abraham took another wife, and her name was Keturah.
2कतुराले जिम्रान, योक्षान, मदान, मिद्यान, यिशबाक र शूहालाई जन्माइन्।
2She bore him Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah.
3योक्षान, शबा अनि ददानका बुबा थिए। ददानका सन्तानहरू, अश्शूरी, लतूशी अनि लऊम्मी हुन्।
3Jokshan became the father of Sheba, and Dedan. The sons of Dedan were Asshurim, Letushim, and Leummim.
4एपा, एपेर, हनोक अबीदा अनि एल्दा मिद्यानका छोराहरू थिए। अब्राहाम र कतुराको विवाहबाट यी नानीहरू भए।
4The sons of Midian: Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah.
5अब्राहामको मृत्यु हुनु अघि नै आफ्नो नोकर्नीहरूका छोराहरूलाई केही उपहारहरू दिए अनि तिनीहरूलाई पूर्बतिर पठाइदिए।
5Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac,
6तिनीहरूलाई इसहाकदेखि टाढा पठाइदिए। त्यसपछि आफूसँग जे जति थियो अब्राहामले इसहाकलाई दिए।
6but to the sons of the concubines who Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts. He sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, to the east country.
7अब्राहाम एक सय पचहत्तर वर्षसम्म स्वस्थ थिए।
7These are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived: one hundred seventy-five years.
8त्यसपछि तिनी दुर्बल भए अनि मरे। तिनी घेरै वर्षसम्म आनन्दपूर्वक बाँचे। तिनलाई तिनका पुर्खाहरूसितै गाडियो।
8Abraham gave up the spirit, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years, and was gathered to his people.
9तिनका छोराहरू इसहाक अनि इश्माएलले तिनलाई मक्पेलाको ओडारमा गाडे। यो ओडार सोअरको छोरो एप्रोनको खेतमा थियो। यो मम्रेको पूर्वमा थियो।
9Isaac and Ishmael, his sons, buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron, the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre,
10यो त्यही ओडार थियो जुन अब्राहामले हित्ती मानिसहरूबाट किनेका थिए। अब्राहाम र तिनकी पत्नी सारालाई त्यही ओडारमा गाडे।
10the field which Abraham purchased of the children of Heth. There was Abraham buried, with Sarah his wife.
11अब्राहामको मृत्यु भएपछि परमेश्वरले इसहाकलाई आशीर्वाद दिनुभयो अनि तिनी बेर-लहै-रोईमा बसिरहे।
11It happened after the death of Abraham, that God blessed Isaac, his son. Isaac lived by Beer Lahai Roi.
12इश्माएलको परिवारको सूची यही हो। इश्माएल अब्राहाम र हागारको छोरो थिए। हागार साराकी मीश्र देशी कमारी थिइन्
12Now this is the history of the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, bore to Abraham.
13इश्माएलका छोराहरूको नाउँ यस प्रकार थियो। पहिलो छोरो नबायोत थियो। त्यसपछि जन्मनेहरूको सूची अनुसार केदार, अबदेल, मिब्साम,
13These are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to the order of their birth: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth, then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,
14मिश्मा, दुमा, मस्सा,
14Mishma, Dumah, Massa,
15हदद, तेमा, यतूर, नपीश अनि केदमा थिए।
15Hadad, Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah.
16तिनीहरूको पर्खालभित्र र बाहिरको सम्झौता अनुसार यिनीहरू इस्राएलका छोराहरू थिए।
16These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their villages, and by their encampments: twelve princes, according to their nations.
17इश्माएल एक सय सैंतीस वर्षसम्म बाँचे। त्यसपछि उनको मृत्यु भयो। अनि उनलाई उनका आफन्तहरू गाडेको ठाउँमा गाडियो।
17These are the years of the life of Ishmael: one hundred thirty-seven years. He gave up the spirit and died, and was gathered to his people.
18इश्माएलका सन्तानहरू समस्त मरूभूमिको इलाकामा बसे। यिनीहरूको इलाका हवीलादेखि शूरको नजिक मिश्रको सीमा र यसको पनि अघि अश्शूरको किनारसम्म थियो। तिनीहरू घुमी हिंडे अनि आफ्नो दाज्यू-भाइ, सन्तानहरू र भूमिमाथि आक्रमण गरिरहे।
18They lived from Havilah to Shur that is before Egypt, as you go toward Assyria. He lived opposite all his relatives.
19इसहाक अब्राहामको छोरो थियो र यो तिनको वृत्तान्त कथा हो।
19This is the history of the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son. Abraham became the father of Isaac.
20जब इसहाक चालीस वर्षका भए उनले रिबेका नाउँकी कन्यासित विवाह गरे। रिबेका पद्दन-आराम भनिने ठाउँकी थिइन् अनि अरामी बतूएलकी छोरी र अरामी लाबानकी बहिनी थिइन्।
20Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Paddan Aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian, to be his wife.
21इसहाककी पत्नी रिबेका बाँझी थिई। यसर्थ इसहाकले आफ्नी पत्नीका निम्ति परमप्रभुसित प्रार्थना गरे। परमप्रभुले तिनको प्रार्थना सुन्नु भयो अनि रिबेका गर्भवती भइन्।
21Isaac entreated Yahweh for his wife, because she was barren. Yahweh was entreated by him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
22जब रिबेका गर्भवती भइन्, उनले आफ्नो गर्भमा भएको शिशुबाट अत्यन्तै कष्ट सहनु पर्यो। उनको गर्भमा भएको शिशुहरू गर्भभित्रै आपसमा एका-अर्कामा लडाइँ गर्थे। रिबेकाले परमप्रभुसित प्रार्थना गरिन् अनि भनिन्, “मसित यस्तो किन भइरहेकोछ?”
22The children struggled together within her. She said, "If it be so, why do I live?" She went to inquire of Yahweh.
23परमप्रभुले उनलाई भन्नुभयो, “तिम्रो कोखमा दुइवटा राष्ट्रहरू छन्। दुइवटा राष्ट्रका राजाहरू तिमीबाट जन्मनेछन् र तिनीहरू छुट्टीनेछन्। एउटा छोरो अर्को छोरोभन्दा शाक्तिशाली हुनेछ अनि जेठाले कान्छाको सेवा गर्नेछ।”
23Yahweh said to her, Two nations are in your womb, Two peoples will be separated from your body. The one people will be stronger than the other people. The elder will serve the younger.
24अनि जब समय पूरा भयो तब रिबेकाले जुमल्याहा छोरा जन्माइन्।
24When her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.
25पहिलो छोरो रातो वर्णको थियो अनि उसको छाला भुत्लाले बनिएको लुगा जस्तो थियो। यसर्थ उसको नाउँ एसाव राखियो।
25The first came out red all over, like a hairy garment. They named him Esau.
26जब दोस्रो छोरो जन्मियो। उनले पहिलो छोरो एसावको कुर्कुच्चा बलियोसित समातेको थियो। यसैले उसको नाउँ याकूब राखियो। एसाव र याकूब जन्मदा इसहाक साठी वर्ष पुगेका थिए।
26After that, his brother came out, and his hand had hold on Esau's heel. He was named Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them.
27केटाहरू हलहली बढे। एसाव एकजना सिपालु शिकारी भयो अनि ऊ मैदानतिरै बस्न मन पराउँथ्यो। तर याकूब शान्त स्वभावको थियो अनि पाल भित्रै बस्थयो।
27The boys grew. Esau was a skillful hunter, a man of the field. Jacob was a quiet man, living in tents.
28इसहाकले एसावलाई मन पराउँथिए अनि उनले मारेको जनवारहरूको मासु खान रूचाउँथिए। तर रिबेकाले याकूवलाई माया गर्थिन्।
28Now Isaac loved Esau, because he ate his venison. Rebekah loved Jacob.
29एकदिन एसाव शिकारबाट थाकेर भोकले हत्तु भएर फर्केर आयो। याकूब एक भाँडा सिमी उसिनिरहेको थियो।
29Jacob boiled stew. Esau came in from the field, and he was famished.
30यसर्थ एसावले याकूबलई भने, “म भोकले दुर्बल भइरहेकोछु। मलाई त्यो केही रातो सिमी खान देऊ। (यही कारणले मानिसहरूले उसलाई एदोम भन्ने गर्द थिए।)
30Esau said to Jacob, "Please feed me with that same red stew, for I am famished." Therefore his name was called Edom.
31तर याकूबले उनलाई भने, “पहिला तिमीले मलाई जेठा छोराको जन्मअधिकार बेच्नु पर्छ।”
31Jacob said, "First, sell me your birthright."
32एसावले भने, “म भोकले मर्न आँटेकोछु। यदि म मरें भने मेरो बाबुको सबै सम्पत्तिले पनि केही सहायता गर्न सक्तैन। यसर्थ म मेरो अंश दिइहाल्छु।”
32Esau said, "Behold, I am about to die. What good is the birthright to me?"
33तर याकूबले भने, “पहिले मलाई वचन दे तैंले मलाई त्यो दिन्छस्।” यसकारण एसावले याकूबलाई वचन दियो। एसावले आफ्नो बाबुको सम्पत्तिको आफ्नो ज्येष्ठ-अधिकार याकूबलाई बेचि दियो।
33Jacob said, "Swear to me first." He swore to him. He sold his birthright to Jacob.
34तब याकूबले एसावलाई रोटी र भोजन दियो। एसावले खायो, र हिड्‌यो। यस प्रकारले एसावले यो देखायो आफू पहिलो छोरो भएकोमा उसलाई आफ्नो ज्येष्ठ-अधिकारको कुनै पर्वाह छैन।इसहाकले अबीमेलेकसित झुट्टो कुरा गर्छन
34Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils. He ate and drank, rose up, and went his way. So Esau despised his birthright.
