मैले गरेका सबै कुराहरूमा नजर लगाएँ अनि आफूले गरेका कठिन परिश्रमको बारेमा विचार गर्दा मलाई लाग्यो त्यो सब समयको बरबादी मात्र थियो। यो हावालाई समाउने चेष्टा गरे जस्तो मात्र थियो। मानिसहरूले तिनीहरूको जीवनमा गरेको कठिन परिश्रमबाट केही प्रप्त गर्न सक्दैन।

Then I looked at all the works that my hands had worked, and at the labor that I had labored to do; and, behold, all was vanity and a chasing after wind, and there was no profit under the sun.
