1परमप्रभुले मलाई यो देखाउनु भयो। मैले ग्रीष्म ऋतुमा पाकेको फलको डाला देखें।
1Thus the Lord Yahweh showed me: behold, a basket of summer fruit.
2परमप्रभुले मलाई सोध्नु भयो, “आमोस तिमीले के देख्दैछौ?” मैले भने,“ग्रीष्म ऋतुमा पाकेको फलको एउटा डालो देखें।”तब परमप्रभुले मसँग भन्नु भयो, “मेरा मानिसहरु इस्रएलको अन्त आयो। म तिनीहरुको पापलाई अझ नदेखे झैं गर्न सक्तिनँ।
2He said, "Amos, what do you see?" I said, "A basket of summer fruit." Then Yahweh said to me, "The end has come on my people Israel. I will not again pass by them any more.
3अन्तिम समयमा परमप्रभुकोभवनमा शोकपूर्ण गीतहरु गाइन्छ, मेरा परमप्रभु मालिक भन्नुहुन्छ, “लाशहरु प्रत्येक ठाउँमा हुनेछन् र नीखतामा लाशहरु लगिनेछन्।”
3The songs of the temple will be wailings in that day," says the Lord Yahweh. "The dead bodies will be many. In every place they will throw them out with silence.
4सुन! मानिसले असहाय मानिसलाई थिचोमिचो गर्छन्। तिमीहरुले यस देशको गरीबहरु नष्ट पार्न चाहन्छौ।
4Hear this, you who desire to swallow up the needy, And cause the poor of the land to fail,
5हे व्यापारिहरु हो! तिमीहरु भन्दछौ, “औंसी कहिले बित्छ ता कि हामी गहुँ बेच्न सक्छौं। कहिले शाबाथ बित्ला र हामीले बेच्न शुरु गर्ने? तब हामीले खोटो तराजुप्रयोग गरेर ठग्न सक्छौ र हाम्रा ग्राहकहरुलाई धोका दिन सक्छौ।
5Saying, 'When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell grain? And the Sabbath, that we may market wheat, Making the ephah small, and the shekel large, And dealing falsely with balances of deceit;
6तिमीले आफैलाई भन्छौ, “हामीले गरीबलाई चाँदीले किन्छौं अनि दरिद्रलाई एक जोडी जुत्ताले किन्छौं। हामी सडेको गहुँ पनि बेच्छौं।”
6That we may buy the poor for silver, And the needy for a pair of shoes, And sell the sweepings with the wheat?'"
7परमप्रभुले ‘याकुब गर्व नामक आफ्नो नाम प्रयोग गर्नु भयो र शपथ लिनुभयो, “म उसको कर्म कदापि भुल्ने छैन।”
7Yahweh has sworn by the pride of Jacob, "Surely I will never forget any of their works.
8किनभने यी कार्यहरुको कारण सम्पूर्ण भूमि काम्नेछ। यस देशमा बस्ने प्रत्तेक मानिस मृत्यु भएको मानिसहरुको निम्ति रुनेछन्। मिश्रको नील नदी जस्तैसम्पूर्ण भूमि उठ्नेछ र तल झर्नेछ। भूमि यता उता फ्याँकिनेछ।”
8Won't the land tremble for this, And everyone mourn who dwells in it? Yes, it will rise up wholly like the River; And it will be stirred up and sink again, like the River of Egypt.
9परमप्रभुले भन्नुभयो, “म सूर्यलाई मध्यदिनमा अस्ताउने बनाईदिनेछु अनि पृथ्वीको दिनको उज्यालोलाई अँध्यारो बनाईदिनेछु।
9"It will happen in that day," says the Lord Yahweh, "That I will cause the sun to go down at noon, And I will darken the earth in the clear day.
10म तिमीहरुको चाडको दिनहरुलाई शोक मनाउने दिनहरुमा र खुशीको सबै गीतहरुलाई दुःखको गीतमा परिवर्तन गरिदिनेछु। म तिमीहरुलाई वस्त्रहरु शोकलगाएका बनाउनेछु र टाउको खौराउनेछु। म तिमीहरुले जन्माएको एउटै मात्र छोरो मर्दा शक गरे जस्तै परिदिन्छु अनि यो तिक्त दिन हुनेछ।”
10I will turn your feasts into mourning, And all your songs into lamentation; And I will make you wear sackcloth on all your bodies, And baldness on every head. I will make it like the mourning for an only son, And the end of it like a bitter day.
11परमप्रभु भन्नुहुन्छ, “हेर, त्यो दिन नजिकै आउँदैछ जब म देशमा अनिकाल ल्याउँनेछु। मानिसहरु रोटी र पानीको निम्ति भोकाउनेछैनन्। तर मानिसहरुपरमप्रभुको वचनको निम्ति भोकाउनेछन्।
11Behold, the days come," says the Lord Yahweh, "That I will send a famine in the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of Yahweh.
12तिनीहरु परमप्रभुको वचन सुन्नु देशमा मृत्य सागर देखि महासागर सम्म यता-उता जानेछन् अनि देशको उत्तर भाग देखि पूर्व सम्म, मानिसहरु परमेश्वरकोवचनको निम्ति यता-उता गर्नेछ तर तिनीहरुले पाउने छैनन्।
12They will wander from sea to sea, And from the north even to the east; They will run back and forth to seek the word of Yahweh, And will not find it.
13त्यस समय सुन्दर युवक र युवतीहरु तिर्खाले मुर्छा पर्नेछन्।
13In that day the beautiful virgins And the young men will faint for thirst.
14तिनीहरुले सामरियाका मूर्तिहरुद्वारा शपथ खान्छन्, तिनीहरुले भन्छन्, ‘दानको मुर्तिहरुद्वारा अथवा बेर्शेबाको मुर्तिहरुद्वारा।’ तर यी मानिसहरु लडनेछन् र कहिल्यैपनि उठ्ने छैनन्।”
14Those who swear by the sin of Samaria, And say, 'As your god, Dan, lives;' And, 'As the way of Beersheba lives;' They will fall, and never rise up again."
