तर सबै सैनिकाहरूले भने, “आज जोनाथनले इस्राएललाई विजयी गरायो। के जोनाथन मर्नै पर्ने? होइन! हामी जीवित परमेश्वरको नाउँमा शपथ खान्छौ कि जोनाथनलाई कसैले हानि गर्न सक्दैन, उसको शिरको एउटा केशसम्म कसैले हल्लाउन सक्ने छैन। परमेश्वरले आज पलिश्तीहरूसँगको युद्धमा जोनाथनलाई सहायता गर्नुभएको छ।” यसरी मानिसहरूले जोनाथनलाई बचाए। तिनलाई मृत्युदण्ड दिइएन।
World English Bible
The people said to Saul, Shall Jonathan die, who has worked this great salvation in Israel? Far from it: as Yahweh lives, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground; for he has worked with God this day. So the people rescued Jonathan, that he didn't die.
