1गरीब आणि प्रामाणिक असणे हे खोटे बोलणारा आणि लोकांना फसवणारा मूर्ख माणूस असण्यापेक्षा चांगले असते.
1Better is the poor who walks in his integrity Than he who is perverse in his lips and is a fool.
2काही गोष्टींविषयी खूप उत्साह दाखविणे एवढेच पुरेसे नसते. तुम्ही काय करीत आहात ते तुम्हाला कळले पाहिजे. एखादी गोष्ट करण्यासाठी एकदम् पुढे घुसू नये, नाही तर तुम्ही ती चुकीची कराल.
2It isn't good to have zeal without knowledge; Nor being hasty with one's feet and missing the way.
3माणसाचा स्वत:चा मूर्खपणा त्याच्या आयुष्याचा नाश करतो पण तो दोष मात्र परमेश्वराला देतो.
3The foolishness of man subverts his way; His heart rages against Yahweh.
4जर एखादा माणूस श्रीमंत असेल त्याची संपत्ती त्याला खूप मित्र देते. पण जर माणूस गरीब असेल तर त्याचे सर्व मित्र त्याला सोडून जातात.
4Wealth adds many friends, But the poor is separated from his friend.
5जो माणूस दुसऱ्याबद्दल खोटे सांगेल त्याला शिक्षा होईल. तो माणूस खोटे सांगतो तो सुरक्षित राहाणार नाही.
5A false witness shall not be unpunished. He who pours out lies shall not go free.
6पुष्कळांना राज्यकर्त्यांबरोबर मैत्री करायची असते आणि जो माणूस नजराणे देतो त्याच्याबरोबर तर सर्वांनाच मैत्री करायची असते.
6Many will entreat the favor of a ruler, And everyone is a friend to a man who gives gifts.
7माणूस जर गरीब असला तर त्याचे कुटुंबही त्याच्याविरुध्द असते आणि त्याचे सगळे मित्र त्याच्यापासून दूर जातात. तो गरीब माणूस मदतीची याचना करतो. पण ते त्याच्या जवळपासही फिरकत नाहीत.
7All the relatives of the poor shun him: How much more do his friends avoid him! He pursues them with pleas, but they are gone.
8जर एखाद्याचे स्वत:वर खूपच प्रेम असेल तर तो शहाणा होण्याचा प्रयत्न करील, तो समजून घेण्याचा खूप प्रयत्न करील आणि त्याला त्याचे बक्षिस मिळेल.
8He who gets wisdom loves his own soul. He who keeps understanding shall find good.
9जो माणूस खोटे बोलतो त्याला शिक्षा होईल. आणि जो खोटे बोलणे चालूच ठेवतो त्याचा सत्यानाश होईल.
9A false witness shall not be unpunished. He who utters lies shall perish.
10मूर्ख माणूस श्रीमंत असायला नको. ते गुलामाने राजपुत्रांवर राज्य करण्यासारखे आहे.
10Delicate living is not appropriate for a fool, Much less for a servant to have rule over princes.
11जर माणूस शहाणा असला तर त्याचा शहाणपणा त्याला सहनशीलता देतो. आणि तो जेव्हा चूक करणाऱ्यांना क्षमा करतो. तेव्हा तर ते खूपच चांगले असते.
11The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger. It is his glory to overlook an offense.
12राजा रागावतो तेव्हा ते सिंहाच्या गर्जनेसारखे वाटते. पण तो जर तुमच्यावर खुश असला तर ते हळुवार पावसासारखे वाटते.
12The king's wrath is like the roaring of a lion, But his favor is like dew on the grass.
13मूर्ख मुलगा त्याच्या वडिलांचा सर्वनाश करु शकतो आणि वाद घालणारी बायको सतत टपटप पडणाऱ्या पाण्यासारखी चीड आणणारी असते.
13A foolish son is the calamity of his father. A wife's quarrels are a continual dripping.
14लोकांना त्यांच्या आई-वडिलांकडून घरे आणि पैसा मिळतो. पण चांगली बायको परमेश्वराकडून मिळालेला नजराणा आहे.
14House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, But a prudent wife is from Yahweh.
15आळशी माणसाला भरपूर झोप मिळेल पण तो खूप उपाशीही असेल.
15Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep. The idle soul shall suffer hunger.
16जर माणसाने कायद्याचे पालन केले तर तो स्वत:चेच रक्षण करतो. पण जर तो या गोष्टीला महत्व देत नसेल तर तो मारला जातो.
16He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul, But he who is contemptuous in his ways shall die.
17गरीब माणसांना पैसे देणे हे परमेश्वराला कर्ज देण्यासारखे आहे. त्यांच्याशी दयेने वागल्याबद्दल परमेश्वर परतफेड करील.
17He who has pity on the poor lends to Yahweh; He will reward him.
18तुमच्या मुलाला शिकवा व तो चुकत असेल तर त्याला शिक्षा करा. तीच एक आशा आहे. तुम्ही जर हे करायला नकार दिला तर तुम्ही त्याला स्वत:चा नाश करायला मदत करीत आहात.
18Discipline your son, for there is hope; Don't be a willing party to his death.
19जर एखाद्याला चटकन् राग येत असेल तर त्याची किंमत त्याला चुकवावी लागते. जर तुम्ही त्याला त्याच्या संकटातून वाचवत राहिलात तर तो पुन्हा पुन्हा त्याच गोष्टी करील.
19A hot-tempered man must pay the penalty, For if you rescue him, you must do it again.
20उपदेश ऐका आणि शिका. नंतर तुम्ही शहाणे व्हाल.
20Listen to counsel and receive instruction, That you may be wise in your latter end.
21माणूस बऱ्याच योजना आखतो. पण फक्त परमेश्वराच्याच योजना प्रत्यक्षात येतात.
21There are many plans in a man's heart, But Yahweh's counsel will prevail.
22लोक खरे आणि प्रामाणिक असावेत अशी इच्छा केली जाते, म्हणून खोटे असण्यापेक्षा गरीब असणे चांगले.
22That which makes a man to be desired is his kindness. A poor man is better than a liar.
23जो माणूस परमेश्वराचा आदर करतो त्याचे आयुष्य चांगले असते. आयुष्यात समाधानी असतो आणि त्याला संकटांची चिंता नसते.
23The fear of Yahweh leads to life, then contentment; He rests and will not be touched by trouble.
24आळशी माणूस स्वत:च्या भूकेसाठी करायच्या गोष्टी देखील करणार नाही. तो ताटातले अन्न तोंडात टाकायचे कामसुध्द करीत नाही.
24The sluggard buries his hand in the dish; He will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
25जर एखादा माणूस स्वत:ला इतरांपेक्षा चांगला समजत असेल तर त्याला शिक्षा करायला पाहिजे. नंतर मूर्ख धडा शिकतील. शहाण्या माणसावर टीका केली तर तो शिकतो.
25Flog a scoffer, and the simple will learn prudence; Rebuke one who has understanding, and he will gain knowledge.
26एखाद्याने वडिलांची चोरी केली आणि आईला घर सोडायला लावले तर तो खूप वाईट आहे. तो माणूस स्वत:ला लाज आणतो आणि स्वत:चा अनादर करतो.
26He who robs his father and drives away his mother, Is a son who causes shame and brings reproach.
27तुम्ही जर सुचना ऐकायला नकार दिलात तर तुम्ही मूर्खासारख्या चुका करत राहाल.
27If you stop listening to instruction, my son, You will stray from the words of knowledge.
28जर साक्षीदार प्रमाणिक नसला तर योग्य न्याय असणार नाही. दुष्ट माणसांच्या बोलण्याने गोष्टी अधिक वाईट होतील.
28A corrupt witness mocks justice, And the mouth of the wicked gulps down iniquity.
29जो माणूस स्वत:ला इतरांपेक्षा चांगला समजतो त्याला इतर लोक शिक्षा करतील. मूर्ख माणसासाठी जी शिक्षा राखून ठेवली होती ती त्याला मिळेल.
29Penalties are prepared for scoffers, And beatings for the backs of fools.
