1काही लोक नीट वजन न करणारा तराजू वापरतात. ते लोकांना फसविण्यासाठी असा तराजू वापरतात. परमेश्वराला असले खोटे तराजू आवडत नाही. पण खरा असलेल्या तराजूमुळे परमेश्वराला आनंद होतो.
1A false balance is an abomination to Yahweh, But accurate weights are his delight.
2जे लोक गर्विष्ठ आहेत ते बिनमहत्वाचे ठरतील. पण जे लोक विनम्र आहेत ते शहाणेही होतील.
2When pride comes, then comes shame, But with humility comes wisdom.
3चांगल्या, इमानदार लोकांना प्रामाणिकपणा मार्गदर्शन करतो. पण दुष्ट लोक जेव्हा दुसऱ्यांना फसवतात तेव्हा ते स्वत:चाच नाश करुन घेतात.
3The integrity of the upright shall guide them, But the perverseness of the treacherous shall destroy them.
4ज्या दिवशी देव लोकांचा न्याय करतो त्या दिवशी पैशाला काही किंमत नसते. परंतु चांगुलपणा लोकांना त्यांच्या मरणापासून वाचवतो.
4Riches don't profit in the day of wrath, But righteousness delivers from death.
5जर चांगला माणूस इमानी असला तर त्याचे आयुष्य सोपे असेल. पण दुष्ट माणसाचा मात्र त्याने केलेल्या वाईट गोष्टीमुळे नाश होईल.
5The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way, But the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
6इमानी माणसाला चांगुलपणा वाचवतो. पण दुष्ट मात्र त्यांनी केलेल्या वाईट गोष्टींच्या सापळ्यात अडकतात.
6The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them, But the unfaithful will be trapped by evil desires.
7दुष्ट माणूस मेल्यानंतर त्याला आशेला जागा नसते. तो ज्या ज्या गोष्टींची आशा ठेवतो त्या सर्व कवडीमोल असतात.
7When a wicked man dies, hope perishes, And expectation of power comes to nothing.
8चांगल्या माणसांचा संकटापासून बचाव होईल. आणि ती संकटे दुष्ट माणसांवर येतील.
8A righteous person is delivered out of trouble, And the wicked takes his place.
9दुष्ट माणूस काहीतरी बोलून लोकांना दुखवू शकतो. पण चांगल्या माणसांचे त्यांच्या शहाणपणामुळे रक्षण होते.
9With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, But the righteous will be delivered through knowledge.
10चांगली माणसे जेव्हा यशस्वी होतात तेव्हा सर्व शहर आनंदी होते. जेव्हा दुष्टांचा नाश होतो तेव्हा लोक आनंदाने ओरडू लागतात.
10When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices. When the wicked perish, there is shouting.
11इमानदार लोक त्यांचे आशीर्वाद देतात तेव्हा शहर मोठे होते. पण दुष्टांचा बोलण्यामुळे शहराचा नाश होऊ शकतो.
11By the blessing of the upright, the city is exalted, But it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
12ज्या माणसाला चांगली समज बुध्दी नसते तो त्याच्या शेझाऱ्याबद्दल वाईट बोलतो. परंतु शहाण्या माणसाला केव्हा गप्प बसायचे ते कळते.
12One who despises his neighbor is void of wisdom, But a man of understanding holds his peace.
13जो माणूस दुसऱ्या लोकांबद्दल काही गुप्त गोष्टी सांगतो तो गुप्तता पाळत नाही. (म्हणून त्याच्यावर विश्वास टाकणे शक्य नसते.) पण जो माणूस विश्वासू असतो तो अफवा पसरवत नाही.
13One who brings gossip betrays a confidence, But one who is of a trustworthy spirit is one who keeps a secret.
14कमजोर नेत्यांमुळे देश गर्तेत जातो. पण बरोच चांगले उपदेशक असले तर तो देश सुरक्षित असतो.
14Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, But in the multitude of counselors there is victory.
15जर तुम्ही दुसऱ्या माणसाचे कर्ज फेडण्याची हमी घेतलीत तर तुम्हाला त्या बद्दल पश्चात्ताप करावा लागेल. पण जर तुम्ही त्याला तसे व्यवहार करायला नकार दिलात तर तुम्ही सुरक्षित राहाल.
15He who is collateral for a stranger will suffer for it, But he who refuses pledges of collateral is secure.
16.दयाळू आणि कोमल स्त्री आदराला पात्र होते. जे लोक जुलमी आहेत ते केवळ पैसा मिळवतात.
16A gracious woman obtains honor, But violent men obtain riches.
17दयाळू माणसाला लाभ होईल. पण जो माणूस उलट्या काळजाचा असतो तो स्वत:वर संकटे ओढवून घेतो.
17The merciful man does good to his own soul, But he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.
18दुष्ट माणूस दुसऱ्यांना फसवतो आणि त्यांचे पैसे घेतो. पण जो माणूस न्याची आहे आणि जो योग्य गोष्टी करतो त्याला फलप्राप्ती होते.
18Wicked people earn deceitful wages, But one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.
19चांगुलपणा खरोखरच जीवन आणतो. पण दुष्ट माणसे दुष्टपणाकडे वळतात आणि मरण मिळवतात.
19He who is truly righteous gets life. He who pursues evil gets death.
20जे लोक आनंदाने दुष्टपणा करतात त्यांचा परमेश्वर तिरस्कार करतो. पण जे लोक योग्य गोष्ट करण्याचा प्रयत्न करतात त्यांच्याबद्दल परमेश्वर आनंदी असतो.
20Those who are perverse in heart are an abomination to Yahweh, But those whose ways are blameless are his delight.
21दुष्टांना खरोखरच शासन होईल. ही गोष्ट खरी आहे. आणि चांगल्या लोकांना सोडून देण्यात येईल.
21Most assuredly, the evil man will not be unpunished, But the seed of the righteous will be delivered.
22जर स्त्री सुंदर असून मूर्ख असली तर ते डुकराच्या नाकात सुंदर सोन्याची नथ असल्यासारखे असते.
22Like a gold ring in a pig's snout, Is a beautiful woman who lacks discretion.
23चांगल्या लोकांना च्यांच्या इच्छेप्रमाणे गोष्टी मिळाल्या तर त्यांतून अधिक चांगले निर्माण होते. पण दुष्टांना जर त्यांच्या इच्छेप्रमाणे गोष्टी मिळाल्या तर त्यामुळे संकटेच येतात.
23The desire of the righteous is only good. The expectation of the wicked is wrath.
24जर एखादा माणूस उदारहस्ते देत असेल तर त्याला अधिक मिळेल. पण एखाद्याने द्यायला नकार दिला तर तो गरीब होईल.
24There is one who scatters, and increases yet more. There is one who withholds more than is appropriate, but gains poverty.
25जो उदार होऊन देतो त्याला लाभ होतो. जर तुम्ही दुसऱ्याना मदत केली तर तुम्हाला अधिक फायदा होईल.
25The liberal soul shall be made fat. He who waters shall be watered also himself.
26जो अधाशी माणूस त्याचे धान्य विकायला नकार देतो त्याच्यावर लोक रागावतात. पण जो माणूस दुसऱ्यांना खायला मिळावे म्हणून आपले धान्य विकतो त्याच्याबद्दल लोकांना आनंद वाटतो.
26People curse someone who withholds grain, But blessing will be on the head of him who sells it.
27जो माणूस दुसऱ्यांचे भले करायचा प्रयत्न करतो त्याचा लोक आदर करतात. जो माणूस वाईट गोष्टी करतो त्याच्या वाटेला फक्त संकटे येतात.
27He who diligently seeks good seeks favor, But he who searches after evil, it shall come to him.
28जो माणूस आपल्या श्रीमंतीवर विश्वास ठेवतो तो पिवळ्या झालेल्या पानासारखा खाली पडतो. परंतु चांगला माणूस नव्या हिरव्या पानाप्रमाणे वाढत राहील.
28He who trusts in his riches will fall, But the righteous shall flourish as the green leaf.
29जर एखाद्याने त्याच्या कुटुंबावर संकटे आणली तर त्याला काहीही मिळणार नाही आणि शेवटी मूर्खाला शहाण्या माणसाची जबरदस्तीने सेवा करावी लागेल.
29He who troubles his own house shall inherit the wind. The foolish shall be servant to the wise of heart.
30चांगला माणूस ज्या गोष्टी करतो त्या जीवनवृक्षासारख्या असतात. शहाणा माणूस लोकांना नवे आयुष्य देतो.
30The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life. He who is wise wins souls.
31जर पृथ्वीवर चांगल्या माणसांना बक्षीस मिळाले तर दुष्टांनासुध्दा त्याच्या पात्रतेनुसार काही तरी मिळेल.
31Behold, the righteous shall be repaid in the earth; How much more the wicked and the sinner!
