मोठ्या आजारानंतर परमेश्वर मोशे आणि अहरोनचा मुलगा याजक एलाजार यांच्याशी बोलला:

It happened after the plague, that Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,

तो म्हणाला, “इस्राएल लोकांची मोजणी करा, 20 वर्षाचे आणि 20 वर्षावरील सगव्व्या पुरुषांची मोजणी करा आणि त्यांची वंशाप्रमाणे यादी करा. तेच पुरुष इस्राएलच्या सैन्यात काम करू शकतील.”

Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, by their fathers' houses, all who are able to go forth to war in Israel.

त्या वेळी लोकांनी मवाबमधील यार्देन नदीच्या खोऱ्यात तळ दिला होता. तो यरीहोंच्या पलिकडे यार्देन नदीजवळ होता. तेव्हा मोशे आणि याजक एलाजार लोकांशी बोलले, ते म्हणाले,

Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,

“वर्षावरील प्रत्येक माणूस तुम्ही मोजा. परमेश्वराने मोशेला ही आज्ञा केली आहे.” मिसरमधून आलेल्या इस्राएल लोकांची ही यादी आहे.

Take the sum of the people, from twenty years old and upward; as Yahweh commanded Moses and the children of Israel, that came forth out of the land of Egypt.

जे लोक रऊबेनच्या कुळातून आले (रऊनबेन हा इस्राएलचा (याकोब) पहिला मुलगा होता.)ती कुळे म्हणजे: हनोखचे हनोखी कूळ, पल्लूचे पल्लूवी कूळ.

Reuben, the firstborn of Israel; the sons of Reuben: of Hanoch, the family of the Hanochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites;

हेस्रोनचे हेस्रोनी कूळ, कर्मीचे कर्मी कूळ.

of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.

रऊबेनच्या वंशातील ही कुळे. त्यात एकूण 43,730 पुरुष होते.

These are the families of the Reubenites; and those who were numbered of them were forty-three thousand seven hundred thirty.

अलीयाबाची मुले नमुवेल, दाथान व अबीराम. दाथान व अबीराम हे दोन पुढारी मोशेच्या आणि अहोरानाच्या विरुद्ध गेले होते. कोरह जेव्हा परमेश्वराच्या विरुद्ध गेला तेव्हा त्यांनी कोरहला पाठींबा दिला.

The sons of Eliab: Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. These are that Dathan and Abiram, who were called of the congregation, who strove against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah, when they strove against Yahweh,

त्यावेळी धरती दुंभगली आणि तिने कोरह आणि त्याचे पाठिराखे यांना गिळकृंत केले. आणि 250 माणसे मेली. तो इस्राएलच्या इतर लोकांना इशारा होता.

and the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that company died; what time the fire devoured two hundred fifty men, and they became a sign.

Notwithstanding, the sons of Korah didn't die.

शिमोनाच्या कुळातलीही काही कुळेनमुवेलाचे नमुवेली कूळ. यामीनाचे यामीनी कूळ. याकीनाचे याकीनी कूळ.

The sons of Simeon after their families: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites; of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites; of Jachin, the family of the Jachinites;

जेरहाचे जेरही कूळ. शौलाचे शौली कूळ.

of Zerah, the family of the Zerahites; of Shaul, the family of the Shaulites.

ही शिमोनी कूळातील कूळे. ते एकूण 22,200 होते.

These are the families of the Simeonites, twenty-two thousand two hundred.

गाद कुळातून जी कुळे निर्णाण झाली ती अशी:सफोनाचे सफोनी कूळ. हग्गीचे हग्गी कूळ. शूनीचे शूनी कूळ.

The sons of Gad after their families: of Zephon, the family of the Zephonites; of Haggi, the family of the Haggites; of Shuni, the family of the Shunites;

अरोदचे अरोदी कूळ. अरलीचे अरेली कूळ.

These are the families of the sons of Gad according to those who were numbered of them, forty thousand and five hundred.

यहुदाच्या कुळातून जी कूळे निर्माण झाली ती अशी:शेलाचे शेलानी कूळ, पेरेसाचे पेरेसी कूळ, जेरहाचे जेरही कूळ. (यहुदाची दोन मुले एर आणि ओनान हे कनान मध्ये मरण पावले.)

The sons of Judah: Er and Onan; and Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.

The sons of Judah after their families were: of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites; of Perez, the family of the Perezites; of Zerah, the family of the Zerahites.

पेरेसच्या कुळातील ही कूळे: हेस्रोनचे हेस्रोनी कूळ, हामूलचे हामूली कूळ.

The sons of Perez were: of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Hamul, the family of the Hamulites.

ही यहुदाच्या कुळातील कुळे. त्यात एकूण 76,500 पुरुष होते.

These are the families of Judah according to those who were numbered of them, seventy-six thousand five hundred.

इस्साखारच्या कुळातील काही कुळे अशी:तोलाचे तोलाई कूळ पूवाचे पुवाई कूळ.

The sons of Issachar after their families: of Tola, the family of the Tolaites; of Puvah, the family of the Punites;

याशूबचे याशूबी कूळ, शिम्रोनचे शिम्रोनी कूळ.

of Jashub, the family of the Jashubites; of Shimron, the family of the Shimronites.

इस्साखारच्या कुळातील ही कुळे. त्यांत एकूण 64,300 पुरुष होते.

These are the families of Issachar according to those who were numbered of them, sixty-four thousand three hundred.

जुबुलूनच्या कुळातील कुळे:सेरेदचे सेरेदी कूळ, एलोनचे एलोनी कूळ, याहलेलचे याहलेली कूळ.

The sons of Zebulun after their families: of Sered, the family of the Seredites; of Elon, the family of the Elonites; of Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites.

जुबुलूनच्या कुळातील ही कुळे. त्यांत एकूण 60,500 पुरुष होते.

These are the families of the Zebulunites according to those who were numbered of them, sixty thousand five hundred.

योसेफची मुले मनश्शे व एफ्राईम. या प्रत्येकापासून कुळे निर्माण झाली.

The sons of Joseph after their families: Manasseh and Ephraim.

मनश्शेच्या कुळातील कुळे:माखीरचे माखीरी कूळ (माखीर गिलादचा बाप होता.) गिलादचे गिलादी कूळ.

The sons of Manasseh: of Machir, the family of the Machirites; and Machir became the father of Gilead; of Gilead, the family of the Gileadites.

गिलादची कूळे होती: इयेजेराचे इयेजेरी कूळ, हेलेकचे हेलेकी कूळ.

These are the sons of Gilead: of Iezer, the family of the Iezerites; of Helek, the family of the Helekites;

and of Asriel, the family of the Asrielites; and of Shechem, the family of the Shechemites;

शमीदचे शमीदाई कूळ व हेफेरचे हेफेरी कूळ.

हेफेरचा मुलगा सलाफहाद याला मुले नव्हती-फक्त मुली होत्या. त्याच्या मुलींची नावे महला, नोआ, होग्ला, मिल्का व तिरसा.

Zelophehad the son of Hepher had no sons, but daughters: and the names of the daughters of Zelophehad were Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.

ही मनश्शेच्या कुळातील कुळे होती ते एकूण 52,700 पुरुष होते.

These are the families of Manasseh; and those who were numbered of them were fifty-two thousand seven hundred.

एफ्राइमच्या कुळातील घराणी पुढीलप्रमाणे होती:शूथेलाहाचे शूथेलाही कूळ. बेकेराचे बेकेरी कूळ व तहनाचे तहनी कूळ.

These are the sons of Ephraim after their families: of Shuthelah, the family of the Shuthelahites; of Becher, the family of the Becherites; of Tahan, the family of the Tahanites.

एरान शूथेलाहाच्या कुटुंबातील होता. एरानचे कूळ एरानी.

These are the sons of Shuthelah: of Eran, the family of the Eranites.

ही एफ्राइमच्या कुळातील कुळे: त्यात 32,500 पुरुष होते. ते सगळे योसेफच्या कुळातील होते.

These are the families of the sons of Ephraim according to those who were numbered of them, thirty-two thousand five hundred. These are the sons of Joseph after their families.

बेन्यामीनच्या कुळातील कुळे होती:बेलाचे बेलाई कूळ. आशबेलाचे आशबेली कूळ. अहीरामचे अहीरामी कूळ.

The sons of Benjamin after their families: of Bela, the family of the Belaites; of Ashbel, the family of the Ashbelites; of Ahiram, the family of the Ahiramites;

शफूफामचे शफूफामी कूळ. हुफामचे हुफामी कूळ.

of Shephupham, the family of the Shuphamites; of Hupham, the family of the Huphamites.

बेलाची कुळे होती: अर्दचे अर्दी कूळ नामानचे नामानी कूळ.

दानच्या कुळातील कुळे होती:शूहामचे शूहामी कूळ.हे कूळे दानच्या कुळातील होते.

These are the sons of Dan after their families: of Shuham, the family of the Shuhamites. These are the families of Dan after their families.

शूहामीच्या कुळात अनेक कुळे होती. त्यातील पुरुषांची संख्या 64,400 होती.

All the families of the Shuhamites, according to those who were numbered of them, were sixty-four thousand four hundred.

आशेरच्या कुळातील कुळे होती:इम्नाचे इम्नाई कूळ. इश्वीचे इश्वी कूळ. बरीयाचे बरीयाई कूळ.

The sons of Asher after their families: of Imnah, the family of the Imnites; of Ishvi, the family of the Ishvites; of Beriah, the family of the Berites.

बरीयाच्या कुळातील कुळे होती:हेबेरचे हेबेराई कूळ. मलकीएलचे मलकीएली कूळ.

Of the sons of Beriah: of Heber, the family of the Heberites; of Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites.

(आशेरला सेरा नावाची मुलगी होती)

The name of the daughter of Asher was Serah.

ही सगळे लोक आशेरच्या कुळातील होते. त्यातील पुरुषांची संख्या 53,400 होती.

These are the families of the sons of Asher according to those who were numbered of them, fifty-three thousand and four hundred.

नफतालीच्या कुळातील कुळे होती:यहसेलचे यहसेली कूळ. गूनीचे गूनी कूळ.

The sons of Naphtali after their families: of Jahzeel, the family of the Jahzeelites; of Guni, the family of the Gunites;

येसेरचे येसेरी कूळ व शिल्लेमचे शिल्लेमी कूळ.

of Jezer, the family of the Jezerites; of Shillem, the family of the Shillemites.

ही नफतालीच्या कुळातील कुळे. त्यातील पुरुषांची संख्या 45,400 होती.

These are the families of Naphtali according to their families; and those who were numbered of them were forty-five thousand four hundred.

म्हणजे इस्राएलमधील एकूण पुरुषांची संख्या सहा लाख एक हजार सातशे तीस होती.

These are those who were numbered of the children of Israel, six hundred one thousand seven hundred thirty.

परमेश्वर मोशेला म्हणाला,

Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

“जमिनीचे भाग करुन ते लोकांना दिले जातील. प्रत्येक कुळातील गणती केलेल्या सर्व लोकांना पुरेशी इतकी जमीन मिळेल.

To these the land shall be divided for an inheritance according to the number of names.
54
मोठ्या कुळाला जास्त जमीन मिळेल आणि लहान कुळाला कमी जमीन मिळेल. त्यांना जी जमीन मिळेल ती त्या कुळात मोजलेल्या माणसांच्या समप्रमाणात असेल.

To the more you shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer you shall give the less inheritance: to everyone according to those who were numbered of him shall his inheritance be given.

पण तू कुठल्या कुळाला कुठली जमीन द्यायची ते ठरवण्यासाठी चिठ्ठ्याफासे टाक. प्रत्येक कुळाला त्याच्या जमिनीचा भाग मिळेल आणि त्या जमिनीला त्या कुळाचे नाव दिले जाईल.

Notwithstanding, the land shall be divided by lot: according to the names of the tribes of their fathers they shall inherit.

प्रत्येक लहान अणि मोठ्या कुळाला जमीन मिळेल आणि निर्णय करण्यासाठी तू चिठ्या टाकशील.

According to the lot shall their inheritance be divided between the more and the fewer.

त्यांनी लेव्याच्या कुळातील कुळांचीही गणती केली. लेव्याच्या कुळातील कुळे ही होती:गेर्षोनाचे गेर्षोनी कूळ. कहाथचे कहाथी कूळ मरारीचे मरारी कूळ.

These are those who were numbered of the Levites after their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites; of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites; of Merari, the family of the Merarites.

लेव्याच्या कुळात ही कूळे सुद्धा होती:लीब्नी कूळ. हेब्रोनी कूळ. महली कूळ. मूशी कूळ. कोरही कूळ.अम्राम कोहाथच्या कुळातील होता.

These are the families of Levi: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mahlites, the family of the Mushites, the family of the Korahites. Kohath became the father of Amram.

अम्रामच्या बायकोचे नाव योखबेद होते. ती सुद्धा लेव्याच्या कुळातील होती. ती मिसर देशात जन्मली. अम्राम आणि योखाबेदला दोन मुले: अहरोन आणि मोशे. त्यांना एक मुलगीही होती. तिचे नाव मिर्याम.

The name of Amram's wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt: and she bore to Amram Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister.

नादाब, अबीहू, एलाजार व इथामार यांचे अहरोन वडील होते.

To Aaron were born Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

पण नादाब व अबीहू मेले. ते मेले कारण त्यांनी परमेश्वराने परवानगी न दिलेल्या अग्नीने अर्पणे केली.

Nadab and Abihu died, when they offered strange fire before Yahweh.

लेव्याच्या कुळातील एकूण पुरुषांची संख्या 23000 होती. परंतु यांची गणती इस्राएलच्या इतर लोकांबरोबर केली नाही. परमेश्वराने इतर लोकांना जमीन दिली त्यात यांना हिस्सा मिळाला नाही.

Those who were numbered of them were twenty-three thousand, every male from a month old and upward: for they were not numbered among the children of Israel, because there was no inheritance given them among the children of Israel.

मोशे आणि याजक एलाजार यांनी ते यार्देन नदीच्या खोऱ्यात मवाब येथे होते तेव्हा लोक मोजले. हे यरीहोच्या पलिकडे यार्देन नदीजवळ होते.

These are those who were numbered by Moses and Eleazar the priest, who numbered the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.

खूप वर्षापूर्वी सीनायाच्या वाळवंटात मोशे आणि याजक अहरोन यांनी इस्राएल लोकांची गणती केली होती. पण ते सगळे लोक आता मेले होते. त्यापैकी कोणीही आता जिवंत नव्हते.

But among these there was not a man of them who were numbered by Moses and Aaron the priest, who numbered the children of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.

कारण इस्राएल लोकांना तुम्ही वाळवंटात मराल असे परमेश्वराने सांगितले होते. फक्त दोन पुरुषांना परमेश्वराने जिवंत ठेवले होते. ते होते यफुन्नेचा मुलगा कालेब व नूनचा मुलगा यहोशवा.

For Yahweh had said of them, They shall surely die in the wilderness. There was not left a man of them, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.
