1जर माझे मस्तक पाण्याने भरलेले असते आणि माझे डोळे अश्रूंचे झरे असते तर मी माझ्या नाश पावलेल्या लोकांसाठी अहोरात्र रडलो असतो.
1Oh that my head were waters, and my eyes a spring of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!
2जर वाळवंटात माझी धर्मशाळा असती तर मी माझ्या लोकांना सोडून त्यांच्यापासून खूप दूर जाऊ शकलो असतो. का? कारण त्यांनी सर्वांनी देवाचा विश्वासघात केला आहे. ते देवाच्या विरुद्ध गेले आहेत.
2Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging-place of wayfaring men; that I might leave my people, and go from them! for they are all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.
3“ते त्यांच्या जिभा धनुष्यासारख्या वापरतात. त्यातून खोट्याचे बाण उडतात. ह्या भूमीवर, सत्य नव्हे, तर असत्य, खोटे बलवान झाले आहे, हे लोक एका पापाकडून दुसऱ्या पापाकडे जातात. त्यांना माझे ज्ञान नाही.” परमेश्वर असे म्हणाला आहे.
3They bend their tongue, as it were their bow, for falsehood; and they are grown strong in the land, but not for truth: for they proceed from evil to evil, and they don't know me, says Yahweh.
4“तुमच्या शेजाऱ्यावर नजर ठेवा. तुमच्या स्वत:च्या भावावरसुध्दा विश्वास ठेवू नका का? कारण प्रत्येक भाऊ लबाड आहे. प्रत्येक शेजारी चहाडखोर आहे.
4Take you heed everyone of his neighbor, and don't you trust in any brother; for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbor will go about with slanders.
5प्रत्येकजण आपल्या शेजाऱ्याशी खोटे बोलतो, कोणीही खरे बोलत नाही. यहूदाच्या लोकांनी आपल्या जिभांना खोटे बोलण्यास शिकविले आहे त्यांना परत येणे अशक्य होईपर्यंत त्यांनी पाप केले.
5They will deceive everyone his neighbor, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies; they weary themselves to commit iniquity.
6एका वाईट गोष्टीमागून दुसरी वाईट गोष्ट आली. खोट्यामागून खोटे आले. लोकांनी मला जाणून घ्यायचे नाकारले.” परमेश्वराने ह्या सर्व गोष्टी सांगितल्या.
6Your habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, says Yahweh.
7म्हणून, सर्वशाक्तिमान परमेश्वर म्हणतो: “धातू शुद्ध आहे की नाही हे बघण्यासाठी कामगार तो तापवितो.” त्याप्रमाणे मी यहूदाच्या लोकांची परीक्षा घेईन. मला दुसरा पर्याय नाही. माझ्या लोकांनी पाप केले.
7Therefore thus says Yahweh of Hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them; for how else should I do, because of the daughter of my people?
8यहूदाच्या लोकांच्या जिभा टोकदार बाणाप्रमाणे आहेत. ते खोटे बोलतात. प्रत्येकजण शेजाऱ्याशी वरवर चांगले बोलतो. पण गुप्तपणे तो शेजाऱ्यावर हल्ला करण्याचा बेत आखत आहे.
8Their tongue is a deadly arrow; it speaks deceit: one speaks peaceably to his neighbor with his mouth, but in his heart he lays wait for him.
9“मी आता यहूदाच्या लोकांना शिक्षा करावी.” हा परमेश्वराकडून आलेला संदेश आहे. “मी शिक्षा करावी अशा प्रकारचे ते लोक आहेत हे तुम्हाला माहीत आहे. त्यांना योग्य ती शिक्षा मी करावी.”
9Shall I not visit them for these things? says Yahweh; shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
10मी, यिर्मया, डोंगरासाठी आकांत करीन. मी वैराण शेतांसाठी शोकगीत गाईन. का? कारण सजीव सृष्टी नाहीशी केली गेली आहे. तेथून आता कोणीही प्रवास करीत नाही. गुरांचे हंबरणे ऐकू येत नाही. पक्षी दूर उडून गेले आहेत. प्राणी निघून गेले आहेत.
10For the mountains will I take up a weeping and wailing, and for the pastures of the wilderness a lamentation, because they are burned up, so that none passes through; neither can men hear the voice of the cattle; both the birds of the sky and the animals are fled, they are gone.
11“मी, परमेश्वर, यरुशलेम नगरी म्हणजे कचऱ्याचा ढीग करीन. मी कोल्ह्यांचे वसतिस्थान होईल. मी यहूदातील नगरे नष्ट करीन. मग तेथे कोणीही राहणार नाही.”
11I will make Jerusalem heaps, a dwelling-place of jackals; and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant.
12ह्या गोष्टी समजू शकण्याइतका सुज्ञ कोणी आहे का? परमेश्वराकडून शिकविला गेलेला कोणी आहे का? परमेश्वराच्या संदेशाचे स्पष्टीकरण कोणी करु शकेल का? ह्या भूमीचा नाश का झाला? जेथे कोणीही जात नाही अशा वाळवंटासारखी ती का केली गेली?
12Who is the wise man, that may understand this? and who is he to whom the mouth of Yahweh has spoken, that he may declare it? why is the land perished and burned up like a wilderness, so that none passes through?
13परमेश्वराने ह्या प्रश्नांची उत्तरे दिली. तो म्हणाला, “माझ्या शिकवणुकीला अनुसरायचे यहूदाच्या लोकांनी सोडून दिले. मी त्यांना पाठ दिले. पण त्यानी ऐकायचे नाकारले. ते माझ्या शिकवणुकीप्रमाणे वागले नाहीत.
13Yahweh says, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein,
14यहूदातील लोक त्यांच्या मर्जीप्रमाणे जगले ते दुराग्रही होते. बआल या खोट्या देवाला ते अनुसरले. त्यांच्या वडिलांनी त्यांना खोट्या देवांना अनुसरायला शिकविले.”
14but have walked after the stubbornness of their own heart, and after the Baals, which their fathers taught them;
15सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर, इस्राएलचा देव म्हणतो, “लवकरच मी यहूदाच्या लोकांना कडू अन्न खायला लावीन, विषारी पाणी प्यायला लावीन.
15therefore thus says Yahweh of Hosts, the God of Israel, Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink.
16मी यहूदाच्या लोकांना दुसऱ्या राष्ट्रांतून विखरु टाकीन त्यांनी किंवा त्यांच्या वडिलांनी पूर्वी कधीही ज्यांच्याबद्दल ऐकले नव्हते अशा परक्या देशांत ते राहतील. मी तलवारी घेतलेले लोक पाठवीन. ते यहूदाच्या लोकांना ठार मारतील. सर्व लोकांचा नाश होईपर्यंत ते संहार करतील.”
16I will scatter them also among the nations, whom neither they nor their fathers have known; and I will send the sword after them, until I have consumed them.
17सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो, “आता या गोष्टींचा विचार करा. प्रेतयात्रेच्या वेळी रडणाऱ्या भाडोत्री बायकांना बोलवा. त्या कामात वाकबगार असलेल्या स्त्रियांना बोलवा.
17Thus says Yahweh of Hosts, Consider you , and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for the skillful women, that they may come:
18लोक म्हणतात, ‘त्या बायकांना लवकर येऊन आमच्यासाठी रडू द्या मग आमचे डोळे भरुन येतील आणि अश्रूंचा पूर येईल.’
18and let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids gush out with waters.
19“सियोन मधून मोठ्याने रडण्याचा आवाज ऐकायला येतो आहे. ‘आपला खरोखरच नाश झाला आपली खरोखरच अप्रतिष्ठा झाली. आता आपण आपली भूमी सोडलीच पाहिजे. कारण आपली घरे नष्ट केली गेली. आता ती दगडधोंड्यांचा ढिगारा झाली आहेत.”‘
19For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, How are we ruined! we are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken the land, because they have cast down our dwellings.
20आता, यहूदातील स्त्रियांनो, परमेश्वराकडून आलेला संदेश ऐका. परमेश्वराच्या तोंडचे शब्द ऐका. देव म्हणतो, “तुमच्या मुलींना मोठ्याने रडायला शिकवा. प्रत्येक बाईला शोकगीत गाता आलेच पाहिजे.
20Yet hear the word of Yahweh, you women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth; and teach your daughters wailing, and everyone her neighbor lamentation.
21‘मृत्यू आला आहे. तो चढून खिडक्यातून आना आला. मृत्यू राजवाड्यात आला. रस्त्यांवर खेळणाऱ्या आमच्या मुलांकडे आला. सार्वजनिक ठिकाणी जमणाऱ्या तरुणांकडे तो आला.’
21For death is come up into our windows, it is entered into our palaces; to cut off the children from outside, and the young men from the streets.
22“यिर्मया, या गोष्टी सांग: परमेश्वर म्हणतो, ‘मृत शरीरे खताप्रमाणे शेतांत पडतील. शेतकऱ्यांनी कापलेल्या धान्याप्रमाणे ती जमिनीवर पडतील. पण त्यांना गोळा करणारे कोणीही नसेल.”‘
22Speak, Thus says Yahweh, The dead bodies of men shall fall as dung on the open field, and as the handful after the harvester; and none shall gather them.
23परमेश्वर म्हणतो, “शहाण्यांनी त्यांच्या शहाणपणाबद्दल, बलवानांनी त्यांच्या बळाबद्दल व श्रीमंतांनी त्यांच्या पैशाबद्दल बढाई मारु नये.” असे परमेश्वर म्हणतो.
23Thus says Yahweh, Don't let the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, don't let the rich man glory in his riches;
24पण कोणाला बढाईच मारायची असेल तर त्याला ह्या गोष्टीसाठी मारु द्या. तो मला ओळखायला शिकला म्हणून बढाई मारु द्या. मी परमेश्वर आहे, मी कृपाळू व न्यायी आहे, जगात चांगल्या गोष्टी मी करतो आणि त्या गोष्टी मला आवडतात हे कळल्याबद्दल त्याला बढाई मारु द्या.” हा परमेश्वराचा संदेश आहे.
24but let him who glories glory in this, that he has understanding, and knows me, that I am Yahweh who exercises loving kindness, justice, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, says Yahweh.
25परमेश्वराचा संदेश असा आहे “ज्यांची फक्त शारीरिक सुंता झाली आहे, अशांना शिक्षा करण्याची वेळ येत आहे.
25Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will punish all those who are circumcised in their uncircumcision:
26मिसर, यहुदा, अदोम, अम्मोन, मवाब यातील व वाळवंटात राहणाऱ्या इतर लोकांबद्दल मी बोलत आहे. ह्या देशातील लोकांची शारीरिक सुंताही खरोखरी झालेली नाही. पण इस्राएलच्या घराण्यातील लोकांच्या ह्दयाची सुंताही झालेली नाही.”
26Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that have the corners of their hair cut off, who dwell in the wilderness; for all the nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in heart.
