“यहूदातील लोकांच्या मेंढपाळांचे (नेत्यांचे) वाईट होईल, ते मेंढ्यांचा नाश करीत आहेत. ते माझ्या कुरणातून त्यांना चहूबाजूना पळवून लावीत आहेत.” हा परमेश्वराकडून आलेला संदेश आहे.

Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! says Yahweh.

ते मेंढपाळ (नेते) माझ्या लोकांना जबाबदार आहेत, आणि परमेश्वर, इस्राएलचा देव त्या मेंढपाळांना पुढील गोष्टी सागंतो “तुम्ही मेंढपाळांनी (नेत्यांनी) माझ्या मेंढ्यांना चारी दिशांना पळून जाण्यात भाग पाडले आहे. त्यांना तुम्ही जबरदस्तीने लांब जायला लावले. तुम्ही त्यांची काळजी घेतली नाही. पण मी तुमची काळजी घेईन. मी तुम्हाला तुमच्या वाईट कृत्यांबद्दल शिक्षा करीन.” हा परमेश्वराचा संदेश आहे.

Therefore thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, against the shepherds who feed my people: You have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them; behold, I will visit on you the evil of your doings, says Yahweh.

“मी माझ्या मेंढ्या (लोक) दुसऱ्या देशांत पाठविल्या पण ज्या मेंढ्या (लोक दुसऱ्या देशात गेल्या आहेत, त्यांना मी गोळा करीन. मी त्यांना त्यांच्या कुरणात परत आणीन. त्या मेंढ्या (लोक) त्यांच्या कुरणात (देशात) परत आल्यावर, त्यांना पुष्कळ संतती होऊन त्यांची संख्या वाढेल.

I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and multiply.

मी माझ्या मेंढ्यांसाठी नवीन मेंढपाळ (नेते) नेमीन. ते मेंढपाळ (नेते) माझ्या मेंढ्यांची (लोकांची) काळजी घेतील व माझ्या मेंढ्या (लोक) घाबरणार नाहीत वा भयभीत होणार नाहीत. माझी एकही मेंढी (माणूस) हरवणार नाही.” हा परमेश्वरातडून आलेला संदेश आहे.

I will set up shepherds over them, who shall feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall any be lacking, says Yahweh.
5
हा परमेश्वराचा संदेश आहे. “मी चांगला अंकुर निर्माण करण्याची वेळ येत आहे.” तो चांगला अंकुर सुज्ञपणे राज्य करणारा राजा असेल. देशात योग्य व न्याय्य गोष्टी तो करेल.

Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.

त्या चांगल्या ‘अंकुराच्या’ काळात यहूदातील लोक वाचतील आणि इस्राएल सुरक्षित राहील. त्याचे नाव असेल परमेश्वर आमचा चांगुलपणा.

In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely; and this is his name by which he shall be called: Yahweh our righteousness.

“चिरंजीव असणाऱ्या, एकमेव असणाऱ्या परमेश्वराने इस्राएलच्या लोकांना मिसर देशातून बाहेर आणले’ हे जुने वचन लोक पुन्हा उच्चारणार नाहीत, असे दिवस येत आहेत.” हा परमेश्वराचा संदेश आहे.

Therefore, behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that they shall no more say, As Yahweh lives, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;

पण लोक काही नवीनच बोलतील. ‘परमेश्वर चिरंजीव आहे परमेश्वर एकमेव आहे. त्याने इस्राएलच्या लोकांना उत्तरेकडील देशातून बाहेर आणले. त्याने त्या लोकांना ज्या ज्या देशात पाठविले होते, त्या त्या देशांतून बाहेर आणले.’ मग इस्राएलचे लोक त्यांच्या स्वत:च्या देशात राहतील.”

but, As Yahweh lives, who brought up and who led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all the countries where I had driven them. They shall dwell in their own land.

संदेष्ट्यांना संदेश: मी फार दु:खी आहे. माझे हृदय विदीर्ण झाले आहे. माझी सर्व हाडे धरधरत आहेत. माझी (यिर्मयाची) स्थिती मद्यप्यासारखी झाली आहे. का? परमेश्वरामुळे व त्याच्या पवित्र शब्दांमुळे.

Concerning the prophets. My heart within me is broken, all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine has overcome, because of Yahweh, and because of his holy words.

व्यभिचाराचे पाप केलेल्या लोकांनी यहूदा भरुन गेला आहे. लोकांनी अनेक मार्गांनी निष्ठेचा त्याग केला आहे. परमेश्वराने शाप दिला आणि ही भूमी ओसाड झाली. कुरणातील हिरवळ वाळून मरत आहे. शेते वाळवंटाप्रमाणे झाली आहेत. संदेष्टे दुष्ट आहेत ते त्यांचे बळ (वजन) व शक्ती चुकीच्या पद्धतीने वापरतात.

For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourns; the pastures of the wilderness are dried up. Their course is evil, and their might is not right;

“संदेष्टेच काय, पण याजकसुद्धा पापी आहेत. माझ्या मंदिरात दुष्कृत्ये करताना मी त्यांना पाहिले आहे.” हा परमेश्वराचा संदेश आहे.

for both prophet and priest are profane; yes, in my house have I found their wickedness, says Yahweh.

“मी माझा संदेश त्यांच्याकडे पाठविण्याचे बंद करीन. मग त्यांची स्थिती अंधारात चालणाऱ्यांसारखी होईल. मी असे केल्यास संदेष्टे व याजक ह्यांच्यासाठी वाट जणू निसरडी होईल. ते त्या अंधारात पडतील मी त्यांच्यावर अरीष्ट आणीन. मी त्यांना शिक्षा करीन.” हा देवाकडून आलेला संदेश आहे.

Therefore their way shall be to them as slippery places in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein; for I will bring evil on them, even the year of their visitation, says Yahweh.

“शोमरोनच्या संदेष्ट्यांनी चुकीच्या गोष्टी केल्याचे मी पाहिले. मी त्यांना बआल या खोट्या दैवताच्या नावाने भविष्य वर्तविताना पाहिले. त्यांनी इस्राएलच्या लोकांना परमेश्वरापासून दूर नेले.

I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied by Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.
14
आता मी यहूदाच्या संदेष्ट्यांना यरुशलेममध्ये भयंकर गोष्टी करताना पाहिले आहे. ते व्यभिचाराचे पाप करतात. ते खोट्या गोष्टी एकतात आणि खोट्या शिकवणुकीचे पालन करतात. ते दुष्टांना दुष्कृत्ये करायला प्रोत्साहन देतात. म्हणून लोक पाप करीतच राहतात. ते सदोममधील माणसाप्रमाणे आहेत. यरुशलेम आता मला गमोऱ्यासारखे वाटते.”

In the prophets of Jerusalem also I have seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies; and they strengthen the hands of evil-doers, so that none does return from his wickedness: they are all of them become to me as Sodom, and the inhabitants of it as Gomorrah.

सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर संदेष्ट्यांबद्दल म्हणतो, “मी त्या संदेष्ट्यांना शिक्षा करीन. विषमिश्रित अन्न खाण्यासाखी वा जहरमिश्रित पाणी पिण्यासारखी ती शिक्षा असेल. संदेष्ट्यांनी हा आध्यात्मिक आजार आणला व तो सर्व देशात पसरला म्हणून मी त्यांना शिक्षा करीन. हा आजार यरुशलेममधील संदेष्ट्यांकडून आला.”

Therefore thus says Yahweh of Hosts concerning the prophets: Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall; for from the prophets of Jerusalem is ungodliness gone forth into all the land.
16
सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर ह्या गोष्टी सांगतो: “हे संदेष्टे तुम्हाला जे काय सांगतात त्याकडे लक्ष देऊ नका. ते तुम्हाला मूर्ख बनविण्याचा प्रयत्न करतात. ते दृष्टांन्ताबद्दल बोलतात. पण हे दृष्टांन्त त्यांना माझ्याकडून घडत नाहीत, तर ते त्यांच्या मनाचेच असतात.
16
Thus says Yahweh of Hosts, Don't listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you: they teach you vanity; they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of Yahweh.
17
काही लोक परमेश्वराकडून आलेल्या खऱ्या संदेशाला नाके मुरडतात म्हणून हे संदेष्टे त्या लोकांना निराळ्याच गोष्टी सांगतात. ते म्हणतात, ‘तुम्हाला शांती लाभेल’ काही लोक फार हट्टी आहेत. ते त्यांना पाहिजे त्याच गोष्टी करतात. मग ते संदेष्टे त्याना म्हणतात, ‘तुमच्यावर कोणतीच आपत्ती येणार नाही.’

They say continually to those who despise me, Yahweh has said, You shall have peace; and to everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart they say, No evil shall come on you.
18
पण ह्या संदेष्ट्यांमधील कोणीही स्वर्गातील देवांच्या सभेतउभा राहिलेला नाही. त्यांच्यापैकी कोणीही परमेश्वराचा संदेश पाहिला वा ऐकला नाही. कोणीही परमेश्वराच्या संदेशाकडे बारकाईने लक्ष दिलेले नाही.

For who has stood in the council of Yahweh, that he should perceive and hear his word? who has marked my word, and heard it?
19
आता परमेश्वराकडून वादळाप्रमाणे शिक्षा येईल. परमेश्वराचा राग तुफानाप्रमाणे असेल. तो त्या दुष्ट लोकांच्या डोक्यावर आदळून त्यांच्या डोक्यांचा चेंदामेंदा करील.

Behold, the tempest of Yahweh, even his wrath, is gone forth, yes, a whirling tempest: it shall burst on the head of the wicked.
20
परमेश्वराने जे करण्याचे ठरविले आहे, ते पूर्ण होईपर्यंत परमेश्वराचा राग शांत होणार नाही. पुढील दिवसांत तुम्हाला हे स्पष्टपणे समजेल.

The anger of Yahweh shall not return, until he has executed, and until he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days you shall understand it perfectly.
21
मी त्या संदेष्ट्यांना पाठविले नाही, पण तेच संदेश द्यायला धावले. मी त्यांच्याशी बोललो नाही, पण तेच माझ्यावतीने उपदेश करतात.

I sent not these prophets, yet they ran: I didn't speak to them, yet they prophesied.
22
जर ते माझ्या स्वर्गीय सभेत उभे राहिले असते, तर त्यांनी माझा संदेश यहूदाच्या लोकापर्यंत पोहोचविला असता. त्यांनी लोकांना दुष्कृत्ये करण्यापासून परावृत्त केले असते. त्यांनी लोकांना पाप करु दिले नसते.”

But if they had stood in my council, then had they caused my people to hear my words, and had turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
23
हा परमेश्वराचा संदेश आहे, “मी देव येथे आहे पण मीच देव दूरवरच्या स्थळीही असतो.”

Am I a God at hand, says Yahweh, and not a God afar off?
24
एखादा माणूस माझ्यापासून लपण्याचा प्रयत्न करीलही, पण त्याला शोधणे मला अगदी सोपे आहे. का? कारण मी स्वर्ग आणि पृथ्वी ह्यांमध्ये सगळीकडे आहे.” परमेश्वर असे म्हणाला.

Can any hide himself in secret places so that I shall not see him? says Yahweh. Don't I fill heaven and earth? says Yahweh.
25
“काही संदेष्टे माझ्या नावाने खोटा उपदेश करतात. ते म्हणतात, ‘मला स्वप्न पडले आहे! मला स्वप्न पडले आहे!’ मी त्याना असे म्हणताना ऐकले आहे.

I have heard what the prophets have said, who prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.
26
हे किती काळ चालणार? ते खोट्याचाच विचार करतात आणि त्याच खोट्या, असत्य गोष्टी लोकांना शिकवितात.

How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies, even the prophets of the deceit of their own heart?
27
हे संदेष्टे, यहूदाच्या लोकांना माझे विस्मरण व्हावे असा प्रयत्न करीत आहेत. एकमेकांना खोट्या स्वप्नाबद्दल सांगून ते हे करीत आहेत. त्याचे पूर्वज जसे माझे नाव विसरले, तसेच आता ह्या लोकांनी मला विसरावे म्हणून ते प्रयत्न करीत आहेत. ह्यांचे पूर्वज मला विसरले आणि त्यांनी खोटे दैवत बआलची पूजा केली,

who think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbor, as their fathers forgot my name for Baal.
28
काडी म्हणजे गहू नव्हे. जर एखाद्या माणसाला त्याच्या स्वप्राबद्दल सांगायचे असेल, तर सांगू द्या. पण जो कोणी माझा संदेश ऐकतो, त्याला सत्य सांगू द्यावे.

The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream; and he who has my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the straw to the wheat? says Yahweh.
29
माझा संदेश अग्नीप्रमाणे आहे.” हा परमेश्वराकडून आलेला संदेश आहे. “तो खडक फोडणाऱ्या हातोड्याप्रमाणे आहे.

Isn't my word like fire? says Yahweh; and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?

“म्हणून मी खोट्या संदेष्ट्यांविरुध्द आहे.” हा परमेश्वराचा संदेश आहे. “हे संदेष्टे एकमेकांकडून माझे शब्द चोरतात.

Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, says Yahweh, who steal my words everyone from his neighbor.
31
मी त्यांच्याविरुद्ध आहे.” हा परमेश्वराकडून आलेला संदेश आहे. “ते त्यांचे स्वत:चे शब्द वापरतात आणि ते माझेच शब्द आहेत असे भासवितात.

Behold, I am against the prophets, says Yahweh, who use their tongues, and say, He says.
32
खोट्या स्वप्नांबद्दल सांगणाऱ्या खोट्या संदेष्ट्यांच्या मी विरुद्ध आहे.” हा परमेश्वराचा संदेश आहे. “ते त्यांच्या खोट्या बोलण्याने व चुकीच्या शिकवणुकीने माझ्या लोकांना चुकीच्या मार्गांने नेतात. लोकांना शिकविण्यासाठी मी त्यांना पाठविलेले नाही. मी त्यांना माझ्यासाठी काही करण्याची आज्ञा कधीही दिलेली नाही. ते यहूदाच्या लोकांना मुळीच मदत करु शकत नाहीत.” हा परमेश्वराचा संदेश आहे.

Behold, I am against those who prophesy lying dreams, says Yahweh, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their vain boasting: yet I didn't send them, nor commanded them; neither do they profit this people at all, says Yahweh.

“यहूदातील लोक वा संदेष्टे किंवा याजक कदाचित् तुला विचारतील ‘यिर्मया, परमेश्वराने काय घोषणा केली आहे?’ तू त्यांना उत्तर दे, ‘तुम्ही म्हणजेच परमेश्वराला फार मोठे ओझे आहात. मी हे ओझे खाली टाकून देईन”‘ हा परमेश्वराचा संदेश आहे.

When this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask you, saying, What is the burden of Yahweh? then shall you tell them, What burden! I will cast you off, says Yahweh.
34
कदाचित् एखादा संदेष्टा वा एखादा याजक किंवा एखादा माणूस म्हणेल ‘परमेश्वराची घोषणा ही आहे.’ तो खोटे बोलला. मी त्याला व त्याच्या सर्व कुटुंबाआला शिक्षा करीन.

As for the prophet, and the priest, and the people, who shall say, The burden of Yahweh, I will even punish that man and his house.
35
तुम्ही एकमेकांना असे विचारु शकता, ‘परमेश्वराने काय उत्तर दिले?’ किंवा ‘परमेश्वर काय म्हणाला?’
35
Thus shall you say everyone to his neighbor, and everyone to his brother, What has Yahweh answered? and, What has Yahweh spoken?
36
पण तुम्ही कधीही ‘परमेश्वराची घोषणा (भारी बोजा) असा वाक्प्रचार वापरु नये.’ कारण परमेश्वराचा संदेश हा कोणालाही भारी बोजा वाटता कामा नये. पण तुम्ही आमच्या देवाचे शब्द बदलता. तो जीवंत, सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर आहे.
36
The burden of Yahweh shall you mention no more: for every man's own word shall be his burden; for you have perverted the words of the living God, of Yahweh of Hosts our God.
37
“तुम्हाला जर देवाच्या संदेशाबद्दल जाणून घ्यायचे आसेल, तर संदेष्ट्याला विचारा ‘परमेश्वराने तुला काय उत्तर दिले’ किवा ‘परमेश्वर काय म्हणाला?’
37
Thus shall you say to the prophet, What has Yahweh answered you? and, What has Yahweh spoken?
38
पण ‘परमेश्वराची घोषणा (भारी बोजा) काय आहे?’ असे म्हणून नका. जर तुम्ही असे शब्द वापराल, तर परमेश्वर तुम्हाला म्हणेल, ‘तुम्ही माझ्या संदेशाला ‘परमेश्वराची घोषणा (भारी बोजा) असे म्हणू नेय.’ हे शब्द वापरु नका असे मी बजावले.
38
But if you say, The burden of Yahweh; therefore thus says Yahweh: Because you say this word, The burden of Yahweh, and I have sent to you, saying, You shall not say, The burden of Yahweh;
39
पण तुम्ही माझ्या संदेशाला ‘भारी बोजाच’ म्हणालात. म्हणून मी तुम्हाला. मोठ्या ओझ्याप्रमाणे वर उचलून माझ्यापासून लांब फेकून देईन. मी तुमच्या पूर्वजांना यरुशलेम नगरी दिली. पण मी तुम्हाला आणि त्या नगरीला माझ्यापासून दूर फेकीन.
39
therefore, behold, I will utterly forget you, and I will cast you off, and the city that I gave to you and to your fathers, away from my presence:
40
मी तुम्हाला अप्रतिष्ठित करीन आणि ही बदनामी (हा ओशाळवाणेपणा) तुम्ही कधीही विसरु शकणार नाही.”

and I will bring an everlasting reproach on you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.
