1सर्व सज्जन माणसे नष्ट झाली. ह्याची कोणी साधी दखलही घेतली नाही. सज्जन लोक एकत्र जमले पण का ते त्यांना कळत नाही, तेव्हा संकटापासून वाचविण्यासाठी सज्जनांना दूर नेले गेले हे कोणालाही समजले नाही.
1The righteous perishes, and no man lays it to heart; and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.
2पण शांती येईल, लोक स्वत:च्या खाटल्यावर विश्रांती घेतील. आणि देवाच्या इच्छेप्रमाणे ते जीवन जगतील.
2He enters into peace; they rest in their beds, each one who walks in his uprightness.
3“चेटकिणीच्या मुलांनो, इकडे या. तुमच्या वडिलांनी व्यभिचार केला. त्यामुळे ते अपराधी आहेत. तुमची आई देहविक्रय करते. तुम्ही इकडे या.
3But draw near here, you sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the prostitute.
4तुम्ही दुष्ट आणि खोटारडी मुले आहात. तुम्ही माझी चेष्टा करता. तुम्ही मला वेडावून दाखविता. तुम्ही मला जीभ काढून दाखविता.
4Against whom do you sport yourselves? against whom make you a wide mouth, and put out the tongue? Aren't you children of disobedience, a seed of falsehood,
5तुम्हाला प्रत्येकाला हिरव्या झाडाखाली फक्त खोट्या देवांची पूजा करायची आहे. प्रत्येक झऱ्याकाठी तुम्ही मुले ठार मारता आणि खडकाळ प्रदेशात त्यांचे बळी देता.
5you who inflame yourselves among the oaks, under every green tree; who kill the children in the valleys, under the clefts of the rocks?
6नदीतल्या गुळगुळीत गोट्यांची पूजा करायला तुम्हाला आवडते. त्यांची पूजा करण्यासाठी तुम्ही त्यांच्यावर मद्य ओतता, त्यांना बळी अर्पण करता. पण तुम्हाला त्या दगडांशिवाय काही मिळत नाही. ह्यामुळे मला आनंद होतो असे तुम्हाला वाटते का? नाही. मला ह्यामुळे अजिबात आनंद होत नाही. प्रत्येक टेकडीवर व उंच डोंगरावर तुम्ही तुमचे अंथरूण तयार करता.
6Among the smooth stones of the valley is your portion; they, they are your lot; even to them have you poured a drink-offering, you have offered an offering. Shall I be appeased for these things?
7तुम्ही ह्या ठिकाणी जमता आणि बळी अर्पण करता.
7On a high and lofty mountain have you set your bed; there also you went up to offer sacrifice.
8मग तुम्ही त्या अंथरूणात शिरता आणि त्या खोट्या देवांवर प्रेम करता. अशाप्रकारे वागणे हे माझ्याविरूध्द आहे. असे वागून तुम्ही पापे करता. तुम्ही त्या देवांवर प्रेम करता. त्यांची नग्न शरीरे पाहायला तुम्हाला आवडते. प्रथम तुम्ही माझ्याबरोबर होता. पण त्यांच्यासाठी तुम्ही मला सोडले. माझी आठवण तुम्हाला करून देणाऱ्या वस्तू तुम्ही लपवून ठेवता. तुम्ही अशा वस्तू दारामागे वा दाराच्या खांबामागे लपवून ठेवता व मग त्या खोट्या देवांकडे जाऊन त्यांच्याबरोबर करार करता.
8Behind the doors and the posts have you set up your memorial: for you have uncovered yourself to another than me, and are gone up; you have enlarged your bed, and made you a covenant with them: you loved their bed where you saw it.
9तुम्ही मोलेखला चांगले दिसावे म्हणून तेले आणि अत्तरे वापरता. तुम्ही तुमचे दूत अती दूरच्या देशांत पाठविले. हे तुमचे कृत्यु तुम्हाला अधोलोकात पोहोचवील.
9You went to the king with oil, and did increase your perfumes, and did send your ambassadors far off, and did debase yourself even to Sheol.
10“ह्या गोष्टी करण्यासाठी तुम्ही खूप मेहनत केली. पण तुम्ही कधीच दमला नाहीत. तुम्हाला या गोष्टींमुळे आनंद मिळत असल्याने तुम्हाला नवीन शक्ती प्राप्त झाली.
10You were wearied with the length of your way; yet you didn't say, It is in vain: you found a reviving of your strength; therefore you weren't faint.
11तुम्हाला माझी उठवण झाली नाही. तुम्ही माझी दखलही घेतली नाही. मग तुम्ही कोणाची काळजी करीत होता? तुम्ही कोणाला भीत होता? तुम्ही खोटे का बोललात? पाहा! मी बराच वेळ गप्प बसलो आणि तुम्ही माझा मान ठेवला नाहीत.
11Of whom have you been afraid and in fear, that you lie, and have not remembered me, nor laid it to your heart? Haven't I held my peace even of long time, and you don't fear me?
12मी तुमच्या ‘चांगुलपणाबद्दल’ आणि सर्व ‘धार्मिक’ कृत्यांबद्दल सांगू शकलो असतो पण त्या गोष्टीत काही अर्थ नाही.
12I will declare your righteousness; and as for your works, they shall not profit you.
13जेव्हा तुम्हाला मदतीची जरूर असते, तेव्हा तुम्ही तुमच्याभोवती जमविलेल्या खोट्या देवांची करूणा भाकता. पण मी तुम्हाला सांगतो की वाऱ्याची फुंकर सुध्दा त्या देवाना दूर उडवून देईल. झंझावात त्यांना तुमच्यापासून दूर नेईल. पण माझ्यावर विसंबणाऱ्याला जमीन मिळेल. माझा पवित्र डोंगर त्याचा होईल.
13When you cry, let those who you have gathered deliver you; but the wind shall take them, a breath shall carry them all away: but he who takes refuge in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain.
14रस्ता मोकळा करा. रस्ता मोकळा करा. माझ्या लोकांकरिता रस्ता मोकळा करा.
14He will say, Cast up, cast up, prepare the way, take up the stumbling-block out of the way of my people.
15देव अती उच्च व परम थोर आहे. देव चिरंजीव आहे. त्याचे नाव पवित्र आहे. देव म्हणतो, मी उंच आणि पवित्र जागी राहतो हे खरे पण मी दु:खी आणि लीन यांच्याबरोबरही असतो. मनाने नम्र असलेल्यांना आणि दु:खी लोकांना मी नवजीवन देईन.
15For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.
16मी अखंड लढाई करीत राहणार नाही. मी नेहमी रागावणार नाही. मी सतत रागावलो तर माणसाचा आत्मा मीत्याला दिलेले जीवन - माझ्यासमोर मरून जाईल.
16For I will not contend forever, neither will I be always angry; for the spirit would faint before me, and the souls who I have made.
17ह्या लोकांनी पापे केली म्हणून मला राग आला. मग मी इस्राएलला शिक्षा केली. मी रागावलो असल्याने त्यांच्यापासून तोंड फिरविले. इस्राएलने मला सोडले त्याला पाहिजे त्या ठिकाणी तो गेला.
17For the iniquity of his covetousness was I angry, and struck him; I hid my face and was angry; and he went on backsliding in the way of his heart.
18इस्राएल कोठे गेला ते मी पाहिले म्हणून मी त्याला बरे करीन. (क्षमा करीन.) मी त्याचे दु:ख हलके करीन आणि त्याला बरे वाटावे म्हणून शब्दांची फुंकर घालीन. मग त्याला व त्याच्या लोकांना वाईट वाटणार नाही.
18I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts to him and to his mourners.
19मी त्यांना ‘शांती’ हा नवा शब्द शिकवीन. माझ्या जवळ वा दूर असणाऱ्यांना मी शांती देईन. मी त्या लोकांना बरे करीन. त्यांना क्षमा करीन.” परमेश्वराने ह्या गोष्टी सांगितल्या
19I create the fruit of the lips: Peace, peace, to him who is far off and to him who is near, says Yahweh; and I will heal him.
20पण पापी हे खवळलेल्या समुद्राप्रमाणे असतात. ते गप्प बसत नाहीत, शांत राहत नाही. ते रागावतात आणि खवळलेल्या समुद्रप्रमाणेच चिखल ढवळून काढतात. माझा देव म्हणतो,
20But the wicked are like the troubled sea; for it can't rest, and its waters cast up mire and dirt.
21”पाप्यांना कधी शांती मिळत नाही.”
21There is no peace, says my God, to the wicked.
