1पाहा! तुम्ही युध्द करता आणि दुसऱ्यांच्या वस्तू चोरता. पण त्यांनी तुमचे काहीही चोरले नाही. तुम्ही दुसऱ्यांविरूध्द उठता पण त्यांनी तुमच्याविरूध्द कधीच उठाव केला नाही. म्हणून जेव्हा तुम्ही चोरी करायचे थांबवाल तेव्हा ते तुमच्या वस्तू चोरतील. तुम्ही लोकांविरूध्द उठाव करायचे सोडाल तेव्हा ते तुमच्याविरूध्द उठाव करतील.मग तुम्ही म्हणाल:
1Woe to you who destroy, and you weren't destroyed; and deal treacherously, and they didn't deal treacherously with you! When you have ceased to destroy, you shall be destroyed; and when you have made an end of dealing treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with you.
2“परमेश्वरा,” आमच्यावर दया कर. आम्ही तुझ्या मदतीची वाट पाहिली. परमेश्वरा, रोज आम्हाला शक्ती दे. संकटकाळी आमचे रक्षण कर.
2Yahweh, be gracious to us; we have waited for you: be our arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.
3तुझा प्रचंड आवाज लोकांना घाबरवितो. आणि ते तुझ्यापासून दूर पळतात. तुझी महानता राष्ट्रांना पळून जाण्यास भाग पाडते.”
3At the noise of the thunder the peoples are fled; at the lifting up of yourself the nations are scattered.
4तुम्ही लोकांनी युध्दात वस्तू चोरल्या. त्या तुमच्याकडून परत घेतल्या जातील. खूप लोक येतील आणि तुमची संपत्ती लुटतील. टोळधाड ज्याप्रमाणे सर्व पीक फस्त करते तसे हे होईल.
4Your spoil shall be gathered as the caterpillar gathers: as locusts leap shall men leap on it.
5परमेश्वर महान आहे. तो उच्च स्थानी राहातो. परमेश्वर सियोनमध्ये प्रामाणिकपणा व चांगुलपणा भरतो.
5Yahweh is exalted; for he dwells on high: he has filled Zion with justice and righteousness.
6यरूशलेमा तू श्रीमंत आहेस. देवाच्या शहाणपणात व ज्ञानात तू श्रीमंत आहेत. तू तारणात श्रीमंत आहेस. तू परमेश्वराचा आदर करतो व तेच तुला श्रीमंत करते. म्हणून लक्षात असू दे की तू सतत राहाशील.
6There shall be stability in your times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge: the fear of Yahweh is your treasure.
7पण ऐक! बाहेर देवदूत रडत आहेत. शांती आणणारे दूत फार जोराने रडत आहेत.
7Behold, their valiant ones cry outside; the ambassadors of peace weep bitterly.
8रस्ते नष्ट केले गेले आहेत. रस्त्यावर कोणीही नाही. लोकांनी केलेले करार मोडले आहेत. साक्षीदारांच्या पुराव्यावर विश्वास ठेवायला लोक तयार नाहीत. कोणी कोणाला मान देत नाही.
8The highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceases: the enemy has broken the covenant, he has despised the cities, he doesn't regard man.
9भूमी शोक करीत मरणपंथाला लागली आहे. लबानोन मरत आहे आणि शारोन दरी कोरडी व ओसाड झाली आहे. बाशान व कर्मेल यामध्ये एकेकाळी सुंदर झाडे होती. पण आता त्या झाडांची वाढ खुंटली आहे.
9The land mourns and languishes; Lebanon is confounded and withers away; Sharon is like a desert; and Bashan and Carmel shake off their leaves.
10परमेश्वर म्हणतो, “आता मी उठून माझी महानता दाखवीन. आता मी लोकांना माझे महत्व पटवीन.
10Now will I arise, says Yahweh; now will I lift up myself; now will I be exalted.
11तुम्ही लोकांनी निरर्थक गोष्टी केल्यात. त्या गोष्टी वाळलेल्या गवताप्रमाणे वा पेंढ्यातील काडीप्रमाणे आहेत. त्यांची किंमत शून्य आहे. तुमचा आत्माअग्नीप्रमाणे आहे. तो तुम्हाला जाळील.
11You shall conceive chaff, you shall bring forth stubble: your breath is a fire that shall devour you.
12लोकांची हाडे चुन्याप्रमाणेहोईपर्यंत म्हणजेच हाडांचा भुगा होईपर्यंत लोक जाळले जातील. काटे आणि वाळलेली झुडुपे ह्यांच्याप्रमाणे चटकन ते जळतील.
12The peoples shall be as the burning of lime, as thorns cut down, that are burned in the fire.
13“दूर देशांत राहणाऱ्या लोकांनो, मी काय केले ते ऐका. माझ्याजवळ राहणाऱ्या, लोकांनो, माझे सामर्थ्य जाणा.”
13Hear, you who are far off, what I have done; and, you who are near, acknowledge my might.
14सियोनमधील पापी घाबरले आहेत. दुष्कृत्ये केलेले भीतीने कांपत आहेत. ते म्हणतात, “ह्या नाश करणाऱ्या अग्नीपासून आपल्याला कोणी वाचवू शकेल का? निरंतर जळणाऱ्या ह्या अग्नीजवळकोणी राहू शकेल का?”
14The sinners in Zion are afraid; trembling has seized the godless ones: Who among us can dwell with the devouring fire? who among us can dwell with everlasting burning?
15हो! पैशासाठी दुसऱ्यांना जे त्रास देत नाहीत असे प्रामाणिक लोक या अग्नीमधूनही वाचतील. ते लोक लाच घेत नाहीत. दुसऱ्याची हत्या करण्याच्या बेताला ते नकार देतात. दुष्कृत्यांच्या योजनांकडे ते पाहण्याचे टाळतात.
15He who walks righteously, and speaks blamelessly; he who despises the gain of oppressions, who shakes his hands from taking a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of blood, and shuts his eyes from looking on evil:
16ते लोक उच्च स्थानावर सुरक्षित राहतील. उंच पर्वतांवरील दुर्ग त्यांचे रक्षण करतील. त्यांना नेहमीच अन्न व पाणी मिळेल.
16He shall dwell on high; his place of defense shall be the munitions of rocks; his bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.
17तुम्ही स्वत:च्या डोळ्यांनी राजाला (देवाला) त्याच्या सुंदर रूपात पाहाल. तुम्ही महान भूमी पाहाल.
17Your eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall see a land that reaches afar.
18तुम्ही तुमच्या भूतकाळातील संकटांबद्दल विचार कराल. तुम्ही विचार कराल, “ते दुसऱ्या देशातील लोक कोठे ओहेत? ते आम्हाला न समजणारी भाषा बोलत. दुसऱ्या देशातील ते अधिकारी आणि कर गोळा करणारे कोठे आहेत? आमच्या संरक्षक बुरूजांची मोजदाद करणारे हेर कोठे आहेत? ते सर्व नाहीसे झाले.”
18Your heart shall muse on the terror: Where is he who counted, where is he who weighed the tribute? where is he who counted the towers?

19You shall not see the fierce people, a people of a deep speech that you can not comprehend, of a strange language that you can not understand.
20आमच्या धार्मिक सणांच्या नगरीकडे सियोनकडे पाहा, विश्राम करण्याच्या सुंदर जागेकडे, यरूशलेमकडे पाहा. यरूशलेम, कधीही न हालणाऱ्या तंबूसारखी आहे. त्याच्या घट्ट रोवलेल्या मेखा कधीही उखडल्या जाणार नाहीत. त्याच्या दोऱ्या कधीही कापल्या जाणार नाहीत.
20Look on Zion, the city of our solemnities: your eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tent that shall not be removed, the stakes whereof shall never be plucked up, neither shall any of the cords of it be broken.
21का? कारण सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर तेथे आहे. त्या भूमीवर झरे व रूंद पात्रांच्या नद्या आहेत. पण तेथे शत्रूंच्या नावा अथवा जहाजे नसतील. त्या नावांवर काम करणारे तुम्ही लोक दोऱ्या सोडतात तसेच काम सोडू शकाल. तुम्ही डोलकाठी पुरेशी घट्ट करू शकणार नाही. तुम्हाला शीड उभारता येणार नाही का? कारण परमेश्वर आमचा न्यायाधीश आहे. परमेश्वरच आमचे कायदे करतो. परमेश्वर आमचा राजा आहे. तो आमचे रक्षण करतो. म्हणून तो आम्हाला खूप संपत्ती देईल. पंगूनासुध्दा युध्दात खूप धन मिळेल.
21But there Yahweh will be with us in majesty, a place of broad rivers and streams, in which shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby.
22
22For Yahweh is our judge, Yahweh is our lawgiver, Yahweh is our king; he will save us.
23
23Your rigging is untied; they could not strengthen the foot of their mast, they could not spread the sail: then was the prey of a great spoil divided; the lame took the prey.
24येथे राहणारा कोणीही “मी विटलो आहे” असे म्हणणार नाही. ज्यांना क्षमा केली गेली आहे असेच लोक तेथे राहतात.
24The inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people who dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.
