फारोने इस्राएल लोकांना मिसर सोडून जाऊ दिले, परंतु परमेश्वराने लोकांना पलिष्टी लोकांच्या देशातून जवळची वाट असताना देखील त्यातून जाऊ दिले नाही; कारण परमेश्वर म्हणाला, “त्यांना त्यातून जाताना लढावे लागेल आणि मग त्यामुळे आपल्या मनातले विचार बदलून ते लोक माघारे वळून मिसर देशाला परत जातील.”

It happened, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God didn't lead them by the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, "Lest perhaps the people change their minds when they see war, and they return to Egypt;"
