परमेश्वराच्याच पुढाकाराने त्याने या डोंगराळ प्रदेशाचा ताबा घेतला. मग याकोबाने शेतात भरपूर पीक घेतले. परमेश्वराने त्याला खडकातून मध दिला, त्या कठीण खडकातून त्याच्यासाठी तेलही काढले.
