पण अश्पनज दानीएलला म्हणाला, मला, माझ्या स्वामी, राजाची भीती वाटते. तुम्हाला असे अन्न व पेय देण्याचा हुकूम राजाने दिला आहे. तुम्ही हे अन्न खाल्ले नाहीत तर तुम्ही अशक्त व आजारी दिसू लागाल, तुमच्याच वयाच्या इतर तरुणांपेक्षा तुम्ही वाईट दिसु लागाल. राजाने हे पाहिले. तर तो माझ्यावर रागावेल आणि माझे डोकेसुध्दा कदाचित् उडवेल. माझ्या मृत्यूला मग तुम्हीच कारणीभुत व्हाल.
World English Bible
The prince of the eunuchs said to Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who has appointed your food and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse looking than the youths who are of your own age? so would you endanger my head with the king.
