1कारण माझी अशी इच्छा आहे की, तुमच्यावतीने जो महान झगडा मी करीत आहे आणि जे लावातिकीयात आहेत त्यांच्या वतीने आणि ज्यांची माझी व्यक्तिश: भेट झाली नाही अशा सर्वांसाठी जो महान झगडा मी केला तो तुम्हांला माहीत व्हावा.
1For I desire to have you know how greatly I struggle for you, and for those at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

2that their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love, and gaining all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they may know the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ,

3in whom are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge hidden.

4Now this I say that no one may delude you with persuasiveness of speech.

5For though I am absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, rejoicing and seeing your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.
6म्हणून ज्याप्रमाणे तुम्हांला दिलेल्या शिक्षणाद्वारे तुम्हाला येशू ख्रिस्त व प्रभु म्हणून मिळाला, तसे त्याच्यामध्ये एक होत चला.
6As therefore you received Christ Jesus, the Lord, walk in him,
7त्याच्यामध्ये मुळावलेले, त्याच्यावर उभारलेले, तुमच्या विश्वासात दृढ झालेले असे व्हा आणि देवाची उपकारस्तुति करीत ओसंडून जा.
7rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, even as you were taught, abounding in it in thanksgiving.
8मूलभूत शिक्षण जे ख्रिस्तापासून नाही व मनुष्यांनी हस्तांतरित केले आहे त्या मानवी तत्त्वज्ञानाने व पोकळ फसव्या कल्पनांनी तुम्हांला कोणीही कैद्यासारखे घेऊन जाऊ नये म्हणून सावध असा.
8Be careful that you don't let anyone rob you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the elements of the world, and not after Christ.
9कारण देवाचे पूर्णत्व त्याच्यात शरीरात राहते.
9For in him all the fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily,
10आणि तो जो प्रत्येक सत्तेच्या व अधिकाराच्या उच्चस्थानी आहे, त्याच्यामध्ये तुम्ही पूर्ण झाले आहात.
10and in him you are made full, who is the head of all principality and power;
11मानवी हातांनी न केलेल्या सुंतेने तुम्हीसुद्धा त्याच्यामध्ये सुंता झालेले आहात. ख्रिस्ताने केलेल्या सुंतेद्वारे तुम्ही तुमच्या पापाच्या सामर्थ्यापासून मुक्त झाला होता,
11in whom you were also circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, in the putting off of the body of the sins of the flesh, in the circumcision of Christ;
12हे असेच घडले जेव्हा तुम्ही बाप्तिस्मा करण्याच्या कृतीमध्ये त्याच्याबरोबर पुरले गेला आणि तुम्ही त्याच्यामध्ये देवाच्या कृतीमध्ये तुमच्या विश्वासाद्वारे उठविले गेला, ज्याने (देवाने) ख्रिस्ताला मेलेल्यांतून उठविले.
12having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.
13तुमच्या पापांमुळे आणि तुमची सुंता न झाल्याने तुम्ही आध्यात्मिकरीत्या मृत झाला होता, परंतु देवाने ख्रिस्ताबरोबर तुम्हाला जीवान दिले आणि त्याने आमच्या सर्व पापांची क्षमा केली.
13You were dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh. He made you alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,
14त्याने आमच्याविरुद्ध असलेल्या आरोपपत्राचा निवाडा असलेला दस्तऐवज आणि ज्यात आम्हांला विरोध होता, तो त्याने आमच्यातून काढून घेतला, आणि वधस्तंभावर खिळ्यांनी ठोकून रद्द केला.
14wiping out the handwriting in ordinances which was against us; and he has taken it out of the way, nailing it to the cross;
15त्याने स्वत: वधस्तंभाद्वारे सत्ता आणि अधिकार हाणून पाडून त्यांवर विजय मिळविला आहे.
15having stripped the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
16म्हणून कोणीहा तुमच्यावर खाण्याविषयी आणि पिण्याविषयी किंवा मेजवान्यांविषयी, नवचंद्रोउत्सवाविषयी किंवा शब्बाथ दिवसांविषयी टीका करु नये.
16Let no man therefore judge you in eating, or in drinking, or with respect to a feast day or a new moon or a Sabbath day,
17कारण ते फक्त येणाऱ्या गोष्टींची सावली आहेत. परंतु खरे शरीर ज्यामुळे सावली पडते ते तर ख्रिस्ताचे आहे.
17which are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is Christ's.
18कोणीही जो स्वत:चा अपमान, नम्रतेची कृत्ये व देवदूतांची उपासना यात समाधान मानून घेतो, त्याने तुम्हाला बक्षिसासाठी अपात्र ठरवू नये. असा मनुष्य नेहमी हे सर्व दृष्टान्त पाहिल्यासारखे बोलतो आणि कोणतेही कारण नसता त्याच्या आध्यात्मिक नसलेल्या अंत:करणामुळे गर्वाने फुगलेला असतो.
18Let no one rob you of your prize by a voluntary humility and worshipping of the angels, dwelling in the things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
19आणि असा मनुष्य ख्रिस्त जो मस्तक त्याला धरीत नाही. संपर्ण शरीर त्याच्या अस्थिबंधाचे स्नायू, स्नायूंनी आधार दिलेले आणि एकत्रित धरल्याने देवापासून होणारी वाढ यात वाढते त्याबद्दल त्याला धन्यवाद असो.
19and not holding firmly to the Head, from whom all the body, being supplied and knit together through the joints and ligaments, grows with God's growth.
20जर तुम्ही ख्रिस्ताबरोबर मेला आहात व या जगाच्या प्राथमिक शिक्षणापासून मुक्त झाला आहात, तर मग का तुम्ही या जगाचे असल्यासारखे त्यांच्या नियमांच्या अधीन राहाता.
20If you died with Christ from the elements of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to ordinances,
21“याला स्पर्श करु नका!” “त्याची चव पाहू नका!”
21"Don't handle, nor taste, nor touch"
22या सर्व गोष्टी त्यांच्या वापराबरोबर नाहीशा होणार आहेत. अशा नियमांच्या अधीन होताना, तुम्ही मानवी नियम व शिकवणूक यांचे पालन करता.
22(all of which perish with use), according to the precepts and doctrines of men?
23खरोखर, मनुष्यांनो केलेला धर्म, स्वत:चा अपमान, नम्रतेची कृत्ये, शरीराचा छळ, या विषयीच्या ज्ञानाबद्दल त्यांची कीर्ति आहे, परंतु शरीराच्या समाधानाविरुद्ध लढताना ते काही किंमतीचे नाहीत.
23Which things indeed appear like wisdom in self-imposed worship, and humility, and severity to the body; but aren't of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.
