1दावीदाची ही अखेरची वचने;इशायपुत्र दावीदाचा हा संदेश देवामुळे ज्याला थोरवी प्राप्त झाली त्याचा हा संदेश. याकोबच्या देवाचा हा अभिषिक्त राजा इस्राएलचा गोड गळ्याचा गायक
1Now these are the last words of David. David the son of Jesse says, The man who was raised on high says, The anointed of the God of Jacob, The sweet psalmist of Israel:
2परमेश्वराचा आत्मा माझ्या मार्फत बोलला त्याचे शब्द माझ्या मुखी होते.
2The Spirit of Yahweh spoke by me, His word was on my tongue.
3इस्राएलचा देव हे बोलला इस्राएलचा दुर्ग मला म्हणाला, “जो न्यायाने राज्य करतो, जो देवाविषयी आदर बाळगून राज्य करतो.
3The God of Israel said, The Rock of Israel spoke to me: One who rules over men righteously, Who rules in the fear of God,
4तो माणूस उष: कालच्या प्रभे सारखा असेल, निरभ्र सकाळ असावी तसा असेल, पावसानंतर येणाऱ्या उन्हासारखा असेल, पाऊस कसा तर ज्याच्यामुळे जमिनीतून कोवळे गवत तरारून येतं असा.”
4He shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun rises, A morning without clouds, When the tender grass springs out of the earth, Through clear shining after rain.
5देवाने माझे घराणे बळकट व सुरक्षित केले. देवाने माझ्याबरोबर एक कायमचा करार केला. तो सर्व दृष्टींनी माझ्या भल्याकरताच आहे याची त्याने खातरजमा करून घेतली. त्याने असा मजबूत करार केला आणि आता तो त्याचा भंग करणार नाही. हा करार म्हणजे माझा उध्दारच होय. हा करार म्हणजेच मला हवे होते ते सर्व काही होय. परमेश्वर माझ्या घराण्याची. भरभराट करील.
5Most assuredly my house is not so with God; Yet he has made with me an everlasting covenant, Ordered in all things, and sure: For it is all my salvation, and all my desire, Although he doesn't make it grow.
6पण दुष्ट माणसे काट्यांसारखी असतात. लोक काटा धरून ठेवत नाहीत, फेकून देतात.
6But the ungodly shall be all of them as thorns to be thrust away, Because they can't be taken with the hand
7त्याचा स्पर्श झाला तर लाकडी आणि पंचदातूचा भाला टोचावा तशा वेदना होतात. (होय, असा माणूस काट्यासारखा असतो) त्यांना आगीच्या भक्ष्य स्थानी टाकतील आणि ती जळून खाक होतील.
7But the man who touches them Must be armed with iron and the staff of a spear: They shall be utterly burned with fire in their place
8दावीदाच्या पदरी असलेल्या वीरांची नावे अशी:योशेब-बश्शेबेथ तखमोनी. हा रथावरच्या सेवकांचा मुख्य होता. असनी अदीनो म्हणूनही त्याला ओळखतात. त्याने एका वेळी आठशे जणांना ठार केले.
8These are the names of the mighty men whom David had: Josheb Basshebeth a Tahchemonite, chief of the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite, against eight hundred slain at one time.
9त्याच्या खालोखाल. अहोही येथील दोदय याचा मुलगा एलाजार. पलिष्ट्यांना आव्हान दिले त्यावेळी दावीदाबरोबर असलेल्या तीन वीरांपैकी एक. ते युध्दाच्या तयारीने आले, पण इस्राएल सैनिक पळून गेले होते.
9After him was Eleazar the son of Dodai the son of an Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines who were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away.
10थकून अंगात त्राण राहिलं नाही तोपर्यंत एलाजार पलिष्ट्यांशी लढत राहिला. तलवार घटृ पकडून त्याने लढा चालू ठेवला. परमेश्वराने त्या दिवशी मोठा विजय घडवून आणला. एलाजारची युध्दात सरशी झाल्यावर मग लोक तिथे आले. पण शत्रू सैनिकांच्या मृतदेहावरच्या वस्तू गोळा करायला तेवढे ते आले.
10He arose, and struck the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand froze to the sword; and Yahweh worked a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to take spoil.
11हरार येथील आगे याचा मुलगा शम्मा हा ही होता. पलिष्टी चालून आले तेव्हा एका कडधान्याच्या शेतात हे युध्द झाले. लोकांना पलिष्ट्यांसमोेरुन पळ काढला.
11After him was Shammah the son of Agee a Hararite. The Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a plot of ground full of lentils; and the people fled from the Philistines.
12पण शम्मा शेताच्या ऐन मध्यावर उभा राहिला आणि त्याने एकट्याने त्यांना तोंड दिले. त्याने पलिष्ट्यंाचा पराभव केला. परमेश्वराने इस्राएलला त्यादिवशी मोठा विजय मिळवून दिला.
12But he stood in the midst of the plot, and defended it, and killed the Philistines; and Yahweh worked a great victory.
13दावीद एकदा अदुल्लामच्या गुहेत होता आणि पलिष्टी सैन्याचा तळ खाली रेफाईच्या खोऱ्यात होता. त्यावेळी तीस शूरांपैकी तिघेजण दावीदाकडे जायला म्हणून थेट गुहेपर्यंत अक्षरश: सरपटत गेले.
13Three of the thirty chief men went down, and came to David in the harvest time to the cave of Adullam; and the troop of the Philistines was encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
14नंतर एकदा दावीद गडावर असताना पलिष्ट्यांची टोळी बेथलहेम येथे होती.
14David was then in the stronghold; and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem.
15दावीद आपल्या गावाचे पाणी पिण्यासाठी व्याकुळ झाला तो म्हणाला, “बेथलेहेमच्या वेशीजवळच्या विहिरीतले पाणी मला कुणी आणून दिले तर किती बरे होईल.” खरोखरच कोणी तसे करावे म्हणून तो बोलत नव्हता. तो आपला उगाच तसे म्हणाला.
15David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me water to drink of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!
16पण या तीन शूरांनी पलिष्ट्यांच्या ठाण्यातून धाडसाने तोंड देत मार्ग काढला आणि बेथलहेमच्या वेशीजवळच्या विहिरीतले पाणी काढून दावीदाला प्यायला आणून दिले. दावीदाने ते प्यायचे नाकारले. त्याने ते परमेश्वराला अर्पण म्हणून जमिनीवर ओतून टाकले.
16The three mighty men broke through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but he would not drink of it, but poured it out to Yahweh.
17दावीद म्हणाला, “परमेश्वरा, हे मी कसे पिऊ? हे पाणी मी प्यायलो तर ज्यांनी आपले प्राण माझ्यासाठी धोक्यात घातले त्यांचे रक्तच मी प्राशन केल्यासारखे होईल.” म्हणून तो ते पाणी प्याला नाही. त्या तीन शूर वीरांनी यासारखी अनेक धाडसे केली.
17He said, Be it far from me, Yahweh, that I should do this: shall I drink the blood of the men who went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.
18सरूवेचा मुलगा यवाब याचा भाऊ म्हणजे अबीशय. अबीशय या तीन वीरांचा नायक होता. आपल्या भाल्याने त्याने तीनशे शत्रू सैनिकांना ठार केले. आणि त्या तिघांमध्ये नाव मिळवले.
18Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief of the three. He lifted up his spear against three hundred and killed them, and had a name among the three.
19त्या तिघांमध्ये तो सर्वाधिक प्रसिद्ध होता. त्यांचा तो नायकही होता. पण तो त्यांच्यापैकी नव्हता.
19Wasn't he most honorable of the three? therefore he was made their captain: however he didn't attain to the first three.
20यहोयादा याचा मुलगा बनाया हाही एक होता. तो एका पराक्रमी माणसाचा पुत्र होता. तो कबसेल इथून आलेला होता. बनायाने बरेच पराक्रम गाजवले. मवाबमधील अरीएलच्या दोन मुलांना त्याने मारले. एकदा बर्फ पडत असताना त्याने गुहेत शिरून सिंह मारला.
20Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done mighty deeds, he killed the two sons of Ariel of Moab: he went down also and killed a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow.
21एका धिप्पाड मिसरी माणसालाही त्याने मारले. या मिसरी माणसाच्या हातात भाला होता तर बनायाच्या हातात फक्त काठी. बनायाने त्याचा भाला हिसकावून घेतला आणि त्याच्याच भाल्याने त्या मिसरी माणसाचा जीव घेतला.
21He killed an Egyptian, a goodly man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and killed him with his own spear.
22बनायाने अशी बरीच कृत्ये केली. त्यानेही या तिघांइतकाच नावलौकिक मिळवला.
22These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had a name among the three mighty men.
23तो तीस वीरांच्या (तीस वीर-दावीदाच्या अतिशय शूर सैनिकांचा गट म्हणजे हे लोक होत.) पेक्षा अधिक प्रसिद्ध होता. पण तरी पहिल्या तिघांच्या पदाला तो पोचला नाही. दावीदाने त्याला आपल्या अंगरक्षकांचा प्रमुख म्हणून नेमले.
23He was more honorable than the thirty, but he didn't attain to the first three. David set him over his guard.
24यवाबाचा भाऊ असाएल हा त्या तिसातला एक होता. बाकीच्या वीरांची नावे पुढीलप्रमाणे:बेथलहेममधील दोदो याचा मुलगा एलहानान,
24Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,
25शम्मा हरोदी, अलीका हरोदी,
25Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite,
26हेलस पलती, इक्केश तकोई याचा मुलगा ईरा,
26Helez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite,
27अबीयेजर अनाथोथी, मबुन्नय हुशाथी,
27Abiezer the Anathothite, Mebunnai the Hushathite,
28सलमोन अहोही, महरय नटोफाथी,
28Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite,
29बाना नटोफाथी याचा मुलगा हेलेब, बन्यामीनच्या वंशातील, गिबामधला रीबय याचा मुलगा इत्तय,
29Heleb the son of Baanah the Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin,
30बनाया पिराथोनी, गाश झऱ्याजवळचा हिद्दय,
30Benaiah a Pirathonite, Hiddai of the brooks of Gaash.
31अबी-अलबोन अर्वाथी, अजमावेथ बरहूमी,
31Abialbon the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Barhumite,
32अलीहाबा शालबोनी, याशेन घराण्यातला योनाथान,
32Eliahba the Shaalbonite, the sons of Jashen, Jonathan,
33शम्मा हारारी, शारार अरारी याचा मुलगा अहीयाम,
33Shammah the Hararite, Ahiam the son of Sharar the Ararite,
34माकाथीचा मुलगा अहसबय याचा मुलगा अलीफलेट, अहिथोफेल गिलोनी याचा मुलगा अलीयम,
34Eliphelet the son of Ahasbai, the son of the Maacathite, Eliam the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite,
35हेस्री कर्मेली, पारय अर्बी
35Hezro the Carmelite, Paarai the Arbite,
36सोबा मधील नाथोन याचा मुलगा इगाल, बानी यादी,
36Igal the son of Nathan of Zobah, Bani the Gadite,
37सेलक अम्मोनी, सरुवेचा मुलगा यवाब याचा शस्त्रवाहक नहरय बैरोथी,
37Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Beerothite, armor bearers to Joab the son of Zeruiah,
38ईर इथ्री, गारेब इथ्री,
38Ira the Ithrite, Gareb the Ithrite,
39उरीया हित्ती, असे एकंदर सदतीस.
39Uriah the Hittite: thirty-seven in all.
